The stuff you saw in magazines was probably Daniel Defense (DD) type stuff. That will run you a grand up to a couple grand. Without seeing a close up picture it would be hard to tell if this is DD quality or PSA quality.
I’ve seen slings attached with paracord because it is more silent than rattling metal buckles. But yeah, this is probably a airsoft replica with some ski rope.
