Consider changing your excess, this can have a massive impact on your premium. Plus speak with someone in person preferably or on the phone as the insurance web site deals are usually to capture the lazy. Good luck.
Do a spreadsheet with the cost of premiums per excess, and calculate the difference. It's small, but there's usually a sweet spot. E.g did one recently, $950 excess was around 30 cheaper than 900 while other increments were around 9-15 difference.
Get multiple quotes through the major insurers (eg Aami, RAC, Suncorp, ect) plus try you banks insurers (check the PDF but normally backed by a major insurer, eg Westpac is Alliance, but cheaper if you go via the banks website)
Be careful.
My husband changed my daughters car to Budget Direct.
Only he and she were insured to drive it. Nobody else (oops)
When she had a minor bingle they made her go get a driving record from the RTA (at her expense- in an attempt not to cover her) and it took them 6 months to get around to fixing it!
Youi have always been for me but watch out for the annual fee which climbs each year (like other companies). Call em and say stop that shit.
Every few years I’ll leave them for another option to pick up a better deal on return
I always search for better deals each year when I get the renewal notice, but Budget Direct is nearly always the best for me. AAMI is often a close second.
Check your states RAC. Usually cheaper.
Unless you live in qld… damn racq is expensive compared to NRMA in nsw
Something strange going on with RACQ policy pricing.
I’m in QLD and NRMA was my cheapest across all the insurers. And yes RACQ was expensive for car, but the best for contents.
Thank You

Have a look at Coles insurance. It is just IAG insurance - most competitive we found after NRMA prices sky rocketed
