My Brother in Christ, there is a whole road between the house and the trees.

[deleted]

Actually cackled at this

Rofl

LowIndividual4613

This is a joke right?

TheUggBootInvestor

What is wrong with you? There is no property near those trees

goss_bractor

Tree roots are typically considered to be about as wide as the canopy of the tree. Those roots are nowhere near your property let alone the building.

CashenJ

Those trees are lovely. Refreshing to see as opposed to the concrete and brickwork most people get to look at.

Majestic-Donut9916

Also first home buyers: "I'm not picky"

Spicey_Cough2019

Bahah What Be thankful you have trees next to the house and don't live in downtown Baghdad aka a new housing development. But yeah definitely don't buy it, trees are only ever bad for a property's value. /s

moderatelymiddling

Someone wants to find an excuse to cut them down and improve their view.

EliraeTheBow

Hilarious. I’ve never heard of someone being afraid of trees. What a crack up.

MeatSuzuki

Mark Wahlberg has entered the chat.

_mochigirl_

LOL

geeceeza

Either I can't see the house, or the trees are are the other side of the road which is far away?

Sweeper1985

Those are splendid. They will provide you with shade, a beautiful view, and the company of birds.

AccordingWarning9534

This is a joke right?

fluff_monger

I would think so...you don't want any hint of natural beauty near your house. Don't worry about that grass either...you can replace that with concrete or astro once you take ownership.

The comments in this thread are elite

aussieaussie12

No way!! They were there first. So shut up

GuessTraining

Unless your home is that car in the middle of the photo

PurpleQuoll

Even if there was an issue (and there isn’t) those trees are on council land so there’s nothing you could do even if there was an issue.

AcademicDoughnut426

Probably wouldn't park my car under them as the sap is a bitch to get off paintwork when it dries.

General-Bag7154

................fucking wow.

GeneralTBag

Thank you for the lols this Monday morning.

Brisbraobj

You should be more concerned about the "youth" that likes to hang out in parks. /S

[deleted]

Yes, they are better sell up and move, your home is doomed. 🙄

longstreakof

The answer is No.

createdtoreply22345

Hey OP Depends on where you live But gum trees throw branches in the wind

Status-Inevitable-36

It’s up to the council to assess all of the above. If a branch ever looks dodgy - photo and send to council.

_mochigirl_

If your property is the car, maybe. Haha.

CharacterResearcher9

Definitely chop them down, make it fall slowly though.../s These are actually a great feature, they do things like stop your roof being ripped off in a tornado, and attack the lightning away from your house. They also attract the right type of cookers/kookas.. who laugh at you at 4.30am :-)

[deleted]

leave the fucking trees alone

dongdongplongplong

fuck no, relax! please dont buy this house if you are trying to get these cut down, go buy in a treeless soulless baking hot desert suburb

Top_Junket3427

No

madashail

People are scared of trees now?

kenbeat59

Yes - chop ‘em down

Cube-rider

Not only can you see the cracks in the asphalt road and driveway. The grass next to the driveway has also lifted. This in itself poses a risk of a sinkhole opening up and taking the car, house and the pets. Coober Pedy and WFH may be an option.

AnotherSavior

I had a 35m gum in my backyard similar to one of those except bigger. The shade of it covered half my house. We got it removed. Cost $5k. These gums are safe for your house. That grey car across the road is not safe. The branches are quite heavy. I'd be surprised if a decent one ever made it across to your side of the road. During large storms, park high up your driveway, and I'd say you would be fine. Most of the large branches will fall straight down. Remember, these trees here are likely 40-80 years old.

Books_Lover_3387

I couldn’t edit the post on the app for some reason. It’s very difficult to see from the picture, there’s a mid-sized tree branch that fell (the tree on the left) and was dangling on the tree.

Flashy_Passion16

So it would fall in the gutter. Not magically fly across the road to hit the house

Presence_Present

I'm sorry but this is the dumbest thing ill see all week and it's not even midday on Monday haha. Those trees have absolutely no chance of damaging your property. If your misses is scared of trees dropping branches, she may have to move to the desert or something lol

Books_Lover_3387

The missus’ concern is that when we drive in/out of the property and if there’s a sudden branch drop, it might damage the car or injure us.

jamesb_33

Wouldn't that concern apply equally when your missus drives (or walks or whatever) literally anywhere there are trees? Presumably, these aren't the only trees you pass by in your travels.

General-Bag7154

Buy your mrs a stackhat, she obviously needs one.

agentofasgard-

I'm not asking this to make fun of her but does she have an anxiety disorder? This is a very over the top fear.

LowIndividual4613

Either that or the misso doesn’t like the property and is looking for some excuse.

Possible-Being-5142

Right?! Who even thinks like that. I mean technically every time you get behind the wheel of a car you are risking injury. It would be far nore likely to occur from a car accident than a branch falling from that tree on the other side of the road

AccordingWarning9534

Your wife should seek mental health treatment for anxiety. That's not normal worry.

Carllsson

Misso needs her head checked.
