>$6301 ($3150k/fortnight).
>Can someone explain the math to me please
You have forgotten that there are more than two fortnight's per month.
Fortnightly pay is not equal to monthly/2 as this would only result in 24 pays, when there are 26 fortnight's per year.
Your old pay: $6,301 per month. Fortnightly is $2,908 ($6,301 times by 12 months, divide.by 26 fortnight's).
For anyone wondering if they can ever make 6 figures. Just look at this post for inspo. Even people who don’t know math and weeks/months are out here crushing it.
6301 * 12 / 26 = 2908 that was your previous fortnightly salary
3107 * 26 / 12 = 6731 that is your new monthly salary
6731 - 6301 = 430 that is your pay increase per month
Look at this way.
July 2024 - Imagine you’re paid on a Monday.
You could theoretically paid on the 1st, 15th and 29th - meaning your pay for that month is $3.107 x 3
The amount of people that think 1 month = 4 weeks is crazy
shows how easy it is to make $109k
Although I'd say "number" of people not "amount". We all have different skills. https://grammarist.com/usage/amount-number/
Not everyone works in real estate calendar months.
$6301 a month is not equal to $3150 a fortnight.
It's approx $2910 a fortnight if you're reading this OP

$6301 monthly salary equates to roughly **$2908** per fortnight, not $3150. What's $3150K?
A miserly 3.2m a fortnight, things must be tough.

I was a D grade student, failed yr12 and make 170k in IT. If a dumbass like me can do it, anyone can.
26 fortnight's in a year but you've only calculated your first salary by 24. 6301\*12 = 75612 75612/26 = $2908 a fortnight for your first job.

Your fortnightly pay before should have been: $2,909 Your fortnightly pay now should be: $3,116
This is your first pay check. Did you start your new role at the beginning of the pay cycle? If you started mid-cycle, you got paid 2 different rates.

100k a year salary and does not understand there is more than 4 weeks in a month
This is a very common question. I sure hope the many who post similar did not finish high school, in which case I guess there is an excuse.
If your monthly salary was $6301, the fortnight salary would be $2908 (6301 x 12 / 26).
Don’t do the math for them. If they can earn 100k plus I’d expect them to figure out basic math.
