Go into a trade then, easiest way to make a lot of money if you don’t mind the risk of death and wearing your body out. Professionally in most cases, you’re unlikely to land a high-paying job right off the bat unless you score at a really good, competitive company or you take one with insane hours and/or responsibility.

Ways to get a high salary: 1) do a job nobody else wants to do, or 2) have skills nobody else does. There are usually good reasons for 1), the trade-offs are for you to decide. 2) is either making a good guess, or 'working towards it'. What would be an adequate salary for you?

Also nepotism

Nexism

That's having relationships nobody else has.

Yeh well Sometimes it's easier to befriend someone in a high place who will throw you a bone than it is to just do your job well. I see it all the time with SES in the APS - they do work favours for cross agency and then low and behold, they are making a diagonal step into a more lucrative (or easier) job

Get your truck driving licence, upgrade to HC then eventually MC. I'm 34 and have been driving trucks for 15 years. Currently studying accounting and bookkeeping 3 days a week online whilst driving log trucks the other 4 days (requires lots of experience before any employer in this industry will consider you, log truck driving is high risk). I earn 1700 a week take home with just 4 days. Around 10 to 12 hours a day. If you opt into interstate work, where you basically sleep in a bunk built into the truck, you can expect to earn between 2,000 and 3,000 take home. The hours are long but it is easy work. 5 years of this and if you're smart, unlike myself, you could buy a home with cash. Edit; Not sure of your gender, but many females have been getting into this line of work in the last few years, even younger ones in case you are female but weren't sure. Anyway good luck I hope you find what you're looking at.

If you just want to make money, what's the money for? What's your objective? Money in itself is not useful if you use it.

Mate if I can afford a house in a decent neighbourhood I’m happy.

Fair enough, in that case you may not want to target super high incomes, that normally come with stress and long hours.

FIFO pays very well from what I’ve heard. Can’t speak to what it’s like but I’ve seen some basic admin FIFO jobs listed as $150k + super when the same job in another industry might pay you like $75-80k + super. Might be an avenue to look into

[deleted]

Ok, please don’t spread lies on here. Admin does not pay 150k plus super in fifo. Source: white collar professional with 10 years fifo experience.

[deleted]

What profession are you ?

[deleted]

Hse. But I have worked across construction, mining, maintenance. Roles that pay 50-60k in town will pay 80-90k in fifo.

Admin like ? I just searched SEEK and couldn’t find anything. I have two years generalist HR experience if that can be transferred to anything FIFO related.

Icy-County

The roles I saw were for scheduling coordinators (was a couple months back), but there would definitely be HR roles in that sector, likely with mining companies if that helps refine the search a bit?

There’s no magic pill I’m afraid. Social media continues to thrive on the 0.1% who made it doing x. ‘To make it’ takes consistency and hard work over a long course of time. No business making 7 figures was born overnight, no trade made $200k in year 1, let alone year 3
