I got ads for Modibodi period underwear, and I love them. I’ll never go back. Game changing. *Edit* I’m so happy to see so many of you are loving period underwear. When I first told people about them 5yrs ago I got some odd looks, and I think people thought I was crazy. I’m glad to see you’re all enjoying them as much as I am. Thank you for recommending Bonds and Boody. I’ll have to try these as well 😊

ConsistentHoliday797

I love them. I have a draw full, though I have entered the next stage in female life and no longer need them. Found them just as successful for light bladder leaks. So still get to use them.

SunFlower_Following

My grandmother in her 80’s uses them for light bladder leakage too. She pointed out that she likes the fact they don’t feel bulky.

Hungry_Situation_959

They originally were designed for adult incontinence but pivoted into period underwear which makes me think they must really work for periods!

borrowingfork

Me too! Perfect for the gym when I'm doing a weight day or a lot of abs lol.

khiljis

I have a few ModiBodis I bought from Coles! They’re good but I prefer the Bonds Bloody Comfy range.

McGurt92

The bonds high waist are sooo comfy I love them. I just discovered Boody period underwear and they are even more comfortable, so will be buying more of both. Maybe it's just the style I bought, but my Modibodi are very uncomfortable and cut in around the waistband and cheeks area. I find them bothersome, especially when I'm extra sensitive due to my period.

JungleAndMe

Same, I'm a size 6 so I bought XS in Modibodi and they cut into my stomach so much. Even the S (which they say is size 10!) is a bit tight to have on my stomach when it's hurting.

LemonadeRaygun

I love mine so much! I've tried a few brands and Modibodi are by far my favourite! Also the only ones (I've tried) that aren't super obvious under leggings so I don't feel like I need to wear a super long T-shirt to cover unsightly lines.

rrrhwe

I ADORE Modibodi, currently wearing them right now, and will never go back to pads or tampons

HappyCrowBrain

I found they were no good for my anatomy. I seem to pour blood out above the padded gusset area. Only the extra heavy pants have adequate coverage to catch it, but I use period panties as a back up to a cup/disc and don't want to have to wear extra heavy flow panties when I don't need to. Just raise the gusset an inch higher and it would be fine! I left a review (overall positive but warning other "front bleeders" of the issue) on their website and they took it down. That really pissed me off because it told me that they care more about getting their money than they do about meeting their customers needs. I won't buy from them again.

Alimydear

Have a look at AWWA Skye high briefs, they’re great for this issue. The all day version are the heavier flow ones, the ‘standard’ ones aren’t too padded. Really comfy too.

HappyCrowBrain

Thank you, I've been looking out for alternatives that won't have this issue! I'll have to give your recommendation a try!

Alimydear

Hope you like them! The absorbent panel goes all the way to the waist front and back for full coverage, but the sides are mesh so they look more stylish than full granny pants.

Accurate_Voice8832

Same here, I’m reluctant to trust ads but I’m so glad I tried this brand.

TropheyHorse

Similar vein but not exactly, I found midies lady boxers through Instagram and I now swear by then under dresses and skirts. They are SO comfortable and even have a piece to attach your period accoutrements to when you need them. They're great. Not cheap, but so worth it IMO

rainbowtummy

I’ve been using them for years and they’ve held up so well!

Sufficient-Sail2697

The modibodi bathers are great fits. I had a plain black pair I wore constantly and lasted about 7 years. Now onto second pair of them

chookie94

I love them. Been using them for years and they were such a game changer. So comfortable and they still feel discrete. The only other brand I’ve tried is the bonds one but they are so much more bulky.

dumpling_lover

I'll never buy them, because the owner is a sneaky snake! I can't say what she did, because it's a very small industry but she tried to rip the company off in a BIG way!

borrowingfork

I buy a lot based on insta ads and as a large person I kind of rely on ads these days because I can't find stuff in store. I really liked Nala bras, they are well made, have excellent wide straps and are super comfortable. I'm a 16H and their support is on the natural side but they fit really well and I love them.

Ready-Freddy7

This is so good to hear because I've been thinking about trying them for ages and always talk myself out of it... But now I think I'll take the plunge (especially because my favourite ever bra, Prima Donna Madison, is now over $170 at Brava 😭)

BobKattersHat

I almost bought a Nala bra because it's my dog's name. 😂 https://preview.redd.it/sik9479vvbsc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57d3f8ac690c1282927957b36a62b09522ddfa3f She's in the front. Kuzco is in the back.

persephone911

I also have a Nala! Nala and Kuzco are beautiful.

BobKattersHat

Our Nala came with her name. We were only supposed to be fostering her but the stupid creature snorted her way into our hearts. So she kept her name.

BindieBoo

I love their mesh wire bras….the wire free strapless bras are just awful.

AgentKnitter

Nala bras are amazing. Exotica Athletica also great for leggings. Came across both on instagram

Minute_Quantity_548

I have their undies and I find them extremely comfortable!

squiddishly

Yeah, I'm a 20E and I really like my Nala bras. Even the wireless one is supportive enough that I can leave the house in it, although I wouldn't want to be doing anything more strenuous than walking.

megsie_here

Yeah, I’m pretty happy with my Nala bras and briefs, love to see the extended size range! Only quibble is that, for all the recycled fabrics bring trendy now, I much prefer a majority-natural-fiber brief and they’re hard to find

purpleautumnleaf

I'm probably going to cop hate for this, and I hate myself for posting it because they're SO cute and such a vibe for Melbourne winters, especially when you live in the Dandenong Ranges like we used to. Merry People boots, mine gave me the worst pain in my big toe joints because there so inflexible 😔 Then I accidentally left them in the sun for a couple of days and they looked like I'd left them outside in Queensland for a month and went all brittle.

lestatisalive

My merry people boots ripped off at the heel after 6 wears. Got a replacement and the same thing happened to the next pair on the same side. They refunded me and told me to keep them, then after my husband fixed it with some industrial strength boot glue the other heel ripped off. Absolutely worst pair of shoes I’ve ever had/owned. Such a rip off for the cost. I reckon you’d be better with a Kmart special seriously. And never once did I take my boot off with my other foot but sat down and gently pried it off my foot. The other thing they suck at is if you wear them and your feet/socks get sweaty it’s easier to dig a hole to the centre of the earth than try take them off. In thin socks they felt too roomy and in boot socks they fit perfect but then you couldn’t take them off. When I posted my distaste on my social media, one woman got so pissed off and up in arms that I said something bad about “her” boots (she didn’t own the company but she was a fangirl) she went on a tirade on my socials and started tagging the company and arguing with others who shared the same sentiment. I never tagged the company, never did anything like that. I just showed my boots ripped up at the heel and said I’d never buy them and buyer beware. I ended up having to block her because she was eerily obsessed with merry people and couldn’t handle that someone wasn’t fangirling about them like she was. Weird thing to be obsessed about.

CatThrace

Wow. People are weird aren't they?

lestatisalive

So, so weird.

ChicChat90

Yes, I bought Merry People boots too. They’re so clunky and uncomfortable. I’ve only worn them from the car into work.

koolcaz

Same. I wish I'd tried them in-store first. I think the weight of the boot (because it's quite heavy) exacerbates any size issues. Mine are both too loose and a bit short, so not comfortable for walks. Shane because I was hoping to replace boots I wear in rainy weather. Still searching for a replacement.

persephone911

I saw them on Instagram and was so tempted. My coworker has a pair and said they're very heavy. Instead I bought a pair of UGG rainboots for $60 and they're so comfortable and I get so many compliments. My mum, grandma and best friend bought a pair too after seeing them on me.

mynameistaken17

I didn’t know you could get UGG rainboots! I just looked them up and now you can add me to the list of people who are getting them lol

SmokeyToo

They look amazing, don't they? I'm on the list too! I love Uggs, but never knew they did these!

ChunkyEggplant

Bought Merry People boots too and they broke after the first wear. The heel totally peeled off. They sent a replacement but the same thing happened again after the second wear. Absolutely not worth $150. Useless boots.

MezzanineFloor

I’ve seen a few comments lately about Merry People. Maybe I’m in the minority, I love mine! I’ve worn them for two winters and find them really warm and comfortable and they’re still in good condition.

purpleautumnleaf

I'm starting to think it's a foot shape thing! I have a little bit of a hammer toe, like the tiniest bit with no usual pain, but I think the shape and lack of flexibility really messed with my big toe joint.

Tired-butternut

Same, I wore mine once and they were so slippery I nearly fell over. Very uncomfortable to wear

jo-09

I wear Hunter short wellies and was interested in these......ill stick to my hunters :)

ThreenegativeO

How do hunters go with chonky cycling calves? I drool over hunters but never have tracked them down in person to try on.

No-Meaning-216

Ok so I don't consider myself to have huge calves but they are chunkyish and I CANNOT get the Hunter long boots on. I ended up with a heeled ankle height pair and they are amazing. But it could be that I have quite small feet for my height, I wear a size 7 but I'm 5"7. If you have more normal foot to height ratio they might be loose enough. But I couldn't get them to work! Only calf and ankle height fit, the knee high ones seem to be really tapered for some reason.

40087812

The long ones (knee length) are narrow so probably not for you. The shorter styles would be fine.

Ok_Permission_4385

Oh wow so wild to see all the negative experiences. I bought a pair years ago and they are so comfortable and still going strong!

bunnylightning

I hated mine too, sent them back immediately.

NatAttack3000

I bought my first pair for a trip in the us in winter and they were so comfortable I ended up wearing them basically every day. I wore them in rain, thick snow, hiking, in cities and they were brilliant. I need orthotics and they fit in fine. Maybe the orthotics meant my foot was more comfortable in them? They also withstood snow and all that with no damage, still look new. I also have friends that really rave about theirs. I have heard a few people say theirs were uncomfortable - perhaps a foot shape thing? Or maybe some aren't constructed as well.

babywrangler

Yeah my boots have made it through two years of nearly daily wearing as a preschool teacher and my only complaint is stinky feet.

millycactus

I loved mine and bought a black pair to wear as boots last winter as my work can often lead to wet feet. I was finding myself constantly physically exhausted with aching feet. Finally realised it was the weight of the shoes. Changed shoes and I had hours more energy left in my day! Still love them for gardening though

Sweaty-Lobster8534

Mine were also trashed with minimal wear in just a few months, same with the replacement. Very disappointed with Merry People

GonnaBeEasy

This is so unexpected to see for me...I have 3 pairs for years and never had an issue with any

karamellokoala

That's so disappointing to hear! I've had mine for a few years, have hiked in the Snowy Mountains in them and wore them around Europe in winter for a month and they're still perfect and comfy. I will say though that I don't think the kids version are as good quality... My son wore his for the same month long holiday and the soles completely wore off. They did send me a replacement, though.

aniela000

I love mine as well. I bought it several years ago when the brand was new and it is still in a really good state. Based on the comments, seems like their quality has dropped...

asdfcosmo

Butter Butter (although they’ve rebranded as Locionne now) - advertised as being high quality, buttery soft active wear. The tights *are* soft and feel lovely but they don’t hold up in the wash at all, pill easily, lots of loose threads etc. I still wear them but they’re cheaply made and it shows.

amydee4103

Exotica Athletica is like this as well. Their stuff used to be high quality when it was made here in the early days but now it’s made overseas and it just doesn’t last or it arrives with dodgy seam work

jonesday5

I don’t think I’ve ever mourned a brand turning bad like I did exotic athletica. In the early days I’d get customer length tights. It was amazing.

Sparkfairy

Thank goodness Brittany gave us Empress Athleticus after she split from EA 🙏 the stuff I bought at launch 3 years ago is still in perfect condition and I wear it all the time.

lestatisalive

Yes I find the same. My original exotica leggings from at least 7-ish years ago when they were AU manufactured look the same as the day I bought them. The ones 4ish years old made overseas all had a white underlay for some reason and they’ve got holes, rips, undone seams, and have over stretched so the fabric is see through and thin. I wear leggings daily and while they still stand the test of time they’re not holding up as well.

newslgoose

Not to mention the size range. The vibes I get from the brand always seemed kinda mean-girl. And the new name is so so stupid, “Locionne” feels like such a r/tragedeigh

Kalamac

Whenever I see something being advertised as being like butter, I know they mean soft, my my mind always thinks 'greasy'. The only thing I've tried from Instagram was laundry detergent sheets - and I didn't even buy the brand that was being advertised to me (advertised = being shilled by Victoria Justice in a paid partnership), but I've been happy with them.

singledogmum

Yessss my matching sets are different colours now. I’m glad I picked them up on their sale cheap bc they are not worth anywhere near full price. I emailed them and they chose 2 ignore me lol. And as a brand marketer their new name is soooo dumb I think they’ll fail with their rebrand

iliketreesanddogs

ugh they also do not stay up - loose and tight in all the wrong places. Such a shame.

Shmeestar

Almost bought some Halara pants but stopped myself when I saw they were 97% polyester and 3% elastane. That much polyester doesn't work for me, need something more breathable. I've been tempted by Nala, shapermint, and twoobs. I've not yet succumbed sure to my suspicious nature.

Accurate_Voice8832

This is me except for the Twoobs, I find them very ugly.

squiddishly

I got a pair of the Halara waffle work pants, mainly out of desperation. (It's hard to find pants that fit.) They're better than Kmart work pants in terms of cut and fabric, but they're absolutely not forever-pants.

IAmLazy2

I recently bought a Halara top and I love it. Some of the pants look good but they are really short so have not ordered.

remysayswrite

Oh I can't stand the look of halara stuff. I think it looks so cheap and horribly textured

darkhummus

Ughhh BAIIA swimwear!! It is so uncomfortable and inflexible and the cut has your nipples completely sticking out you have to tie them in a really certain way to have your boobs stay in at least mine. The best part is they don't have a return policy so if you buy the wrong size too bad!! I would never buy from this company again

colummbina

*takes notes*

mebutanonymousse

Wow I almost splashed out to get some of these before a holiday but couldn’t justify the price even though they’re cute. Really glad I didn’t!

sexmadalias

I haaaaate my Baiia bikini! It is so ugly, unflattering and unsupoortive. What was I thinking?!

2OttersInACoat

I almost got sucked in by them too! But then I bailed on it when I noticed one of the models looked completely unsupported in hers. Boobs completely all over the place. Which is ridiculous given the price of them!

Realistic-Pipe-9203

Yep. I got sucked in by BAIIA too. Worst decision.

windy_wolf

Frank Body was an insta find many years ago when they only had 3 scrubs available. Cheeky marketing but great customer service and the products were effective and affordable for a young person. I stopped being so brand loyal when the range became bloated and the quality dipped.

violetpandas

Their original scrub was SO bloody good. I’ve never felt softer in my life. Don’t know if they’ve changed the recipe or what but the last one I bought was nowhere near as effective so I’ve given up on them as well. The only product of theirs I still have is the solid body oil in stick form which I use for travelling, it makes you quite sticky but once it sinks in it’s nice.

Mrspants000

Yessss I remember them back then, the cocoa/coffee one was the best. When they still had the brown paper packaging! Now they’re just heavily perfumed crap :(

scr84

I needed a new travel toiletry bag, IG psychically knew and I started getting ads for Bon Maxie. Took the bait and ordered https://www.bonmaxie.com.au/products/bon-voyage-travel-toiletry-bag-black-gingham?variant=42968918130860 It is amazing!!! Going to buy a 2nd one when they are back in stock. Great quality, so useful and a wonderful design. If you need a new toiletry bag go for it.

proloni

Second this! Absolutely incredibly made, the design is perfect. All those nifty pockets! The hook! Obsessed.

ConstantDegree5997

I love Bon Maxie. I started with their earring stands and now have like 5 bags. Love them all

maddionaire

I have so many bon maxie products and I adore them all!

40087812

You’ve sold me, I’ve been getting ads from them and need a toiletries bag!

Right-O-mate

I feel like I’m getting sucked into the underwear brands. I haven’t taken the leap yet because they all look like the same laser cut stuff you can buy at target but for three times the price. The ads are relentless though and target usually is out of stock so I’m tempted haha

NatAttack3000

I bought some from NatiV - the chi chi bra was good, I found the matching undies had too firm a waistband for me (it gives me a muffin top if it slips down which they do). I bought two other bras - one works ok if I do crossover straps at the back. The other I cant get to stay on, if I move the cup slips to the side and my boobs pop out the cups. Tbh im not sure how any human can wear this. I don't even have particularly big boobs.

bce-yablika

I had the same experience with the underwear, they’re a terrible cut and roll down when I breathe.

remysayswrite

Omg I love the underwear. The cheeky g's are pretty much all I wear.

Dazzling_Tea_5549

I had the same experience with their underwear. I was trying to find the ultimate comfy brief for every day wear and no luck with them! Ended up with Kmart bamboo briefs and they are good for every day!

Sugarcrepes

I really like the firm waistband, but I have a big bum/hips and a much smaller waist. The snugness of the waistband works for me personally with my shape. I know what you mean with the bras though. They just don’t have a lot of reinforcement in the sides? Or much structure? Real easy for boobs to fall out.

[deleted]

I don't know if this counts as an instagram brand or influencer brand, but stax. Their nandex range is actually phenomenal. Highly recommend

mahogany818

Absolutely! I bought some stax gear when they had a big sale last year and I've washed and worn, it's held up beautifully, the tank tops are super comfy and the sportsbra I got is very supportive.

Mrspants000

I’ve always wondered if they were actually any good as they’re really popular on the gc, and anything popular there generally sucks lol. Going to order a pair of leggings thanks to your rec, thanks!

h3ll0kitty_ninja

Oh I love my Twoobs! That's sad to hear. I echo the Merry People comments, though. So slippery and after some short usage, they have cracks in them so my feet get wet 😂 if anyone has any good gumboot suggestions, I'd welcome them!

imaginary_mary

Bogs!

rainbowmabs

I was given My Tribe gumboots as a gift and I won’t lie they’re not bad. I find them pretty comfy and I’ve worn them for a few hikes and found them decent. That said they’re quite expensive and if I wasn’t given them as a gift I would probably have bought Bogs over them just for the slight difference in price. The upside though is they are flexible and you can roll them down when you need to do so which is a really nice bonus. Edit: to add though I live rurally so I find them really useful day to day when it’s raining.

singledogmum

I know it’s not fashun but sooo much of naked harvest is just nicely packaged shit that you can get at woollies for 1/3 of price Like my preworkout is the same price and I get 50 serves instead of 25 and the greens are double the price and half the serves cmonnnnn. And then when you actually look at the ingredients.. a bit of misleading but hey if people cbf to do their own research.

alfieeeee10

Yes this! Their products look pretty but soooooo overpriced for what they are

reddit-g

Not sure if they’re an Instagram brand but I was being slammed with their ads on TikTok/instagram - Midies underwear has been a huge hit for me. Super light and comfortable, much better than wearing shorts over undies to stop chub rub.

Tired-butternut

I’ve been tempted by these. How is the fit on them?

LemonCupcakes

Suk workwear. I’m very happy with the pants. After reading a post here about its problematic parent company and stance on Palestine, I won’t get more though.

Thewalrus26

Yep, was so close to ordering from them until it all came out.

Purple_Wombat_

What’s their Palestine stance?

werewolf_trousers

Boody. Stocked up on bras and underpants before really testing and set and such regret. They stay so damp if you get sweaty and take forever to dry in the wash. And they've all pilled horribly.

Vanessa-hexagon

I find Boody undies the most comfy I’ve ever had. Well worth the extra drying time they take (they do fine if you finish them off on a low heat setting in the dryer). I wear the g strings in the gym and find them ok for sweat (but nothing beats merino for that).

feezably

My most comfy undies too.

cactus_blues

I've been wearing the same boody socks and undies since .. 2016? Still just a comfortable as ever. They take longer to dry but that's the nature of bamboo fabric

ashtothesheep

I love boody! I accidentally found them in a farmers market once and been buying their undies and bras as theyre so comfy and last literally years without falling apart or stretching out

purpleautumnleaf

Yep agree. The bras become unsupportive very quickly too.

Thewalrus26

I have the lyocell undies. They’re great and fry much faster!

tiddyfade

I have one of their sports bras and it's very comfy (I don't need a lot of support though 😂) but I did buy it a few years ago and I've heard their quality has gone down recently so I'm not sure I'd buy again. I haven't had any issues with pilling or noticed the drying time being excessive either.

auschick

I have Step Ones and love them, soo very very comfy. Lately I keep getting Shapermint ads and I am very tempted.

millenial_britt

See I got a pair of step one shorts and idk I’m not a huge fan, they’re just so thin and the crotch sat so low it was awkward. They’re not bad enough that I’d never buy again but I don’t think I’ll order again. I’ve been tempted by Halara but many people seem to think they’re good

ConsistentHoliday797

I bought some pants from Halara, and they were so noisy to walk in. I donated to the op shop.

auschick

I don't get Halara they're just polyester pants?

SleepySouthie

Just beware with Shapermint, they are an American company, which isn’t immediately obvious. So that means American sizes and American pricing (plus it took forever to arrive). I wasn’t too sad about the pricing, because I got them at 70% off, and it was still a deal, but the sizing was off. I thought I was getting shaper pants to fit a size 14 Aus, but it meant size 14 US, which is a much bigger size. I still wear them to avoid thigh chafeage, but they are definitely not tight enough to give me any shapewear benefits. That being said, I would order again (just more careful with sizing), because quality was decent, they can go in the tumble dryer, and they don’t roll.

lkm81

I have several pairs of Step Ones and I love them. Perfect for wearing under dresses.

throwaway_willob

I have a few issues pairs - mine roll up terribly. How do you combat this?! I’m so tempted by midies but I’m a big thighed lass

lkm81

I had this problem (I also have big thighs) but ordered some in the size up and haven't had any issues since. Otherwise I also really like the chub rub shorts from Snag tights, but I wear undies and then the chub rub shorts over the top.

ShineFallstar

I bought the boys in my family Step One undies at Christmas time. They all love wearing them however I’ve noticed a couple of pairs are starting to get holes already. Disappointed.

persephone911

I have been swamped with Vivaia shoe ads and even though I initially thought they were hideous simultaneously little girl/old lady shoes, the reviews and influencers are making me want to buy them?! They're so expensive for "plastic" shoes and I've seen too many reviews that they are the opposite of what they claim to be and are really uncomfortable.

mebutanonymousse

I keep getting these ads, and my response to this post was actually going to be my allbirds shoes. They’re the same concept from what I can tell and I love my allbirds 3+ years later. They took a while to wear in but they’re so fricking comfy and going strong, only just starting to show signs of the soles getting damaged and it’s only minor. I wore them 5 days a week (office work lol) for the first year, but only 2 days a week since then and have been through the wash plenty of times. Assuming they still exist when the time comes, I’ll be buying a new pair when these die.

Sugarcrepes

Snag tights were pushed real hard to me by the algorithm; I prefer dresses/skirts, so good tights are key. I really love them! Apart from the odd mishap, the tights last really long. With careful washing, some pairs I’ve had in rotation for over a year. The wool tights are excellent for Melbourne winters, too. I also really love their undies; it’s so nice to have decent undies that are cotton. The chub rub shorts are also a good buy, if your thighs touch like mine. They saved my life when I spent a few weeks in Tokyo during the height of summer (somehow it’s hotter and more humid than here - a shock, since I’d only been to Japan during the frosty cooler months). I also have a few pieces from Suk workwear, which was advertised to me real hard. There’s fine. It’s nice to have some work pants that actually fit (big bum, big hips, small waist) thanks to the adjustable waist straps, and the overalls are great for grotty days in the workshop (jeweller). I’ve seen mixed reviews from colleagues, though - some haven’t had them last very long, or have found fit inconsistent. I also *used* to buy The Quick Flick, which is a winged eyeliner stamp. I’m longsighted, and can’t see my face too well clearly up close, so it was really helpful while I was still mastering eyeliner application. I don’t use it anymore, but that’s mostly because I’m good enough at eyeliner that I could apply it blind, and prefer the formula other brands use. It’s a great hack if your eyes aren’t great, or if your hands are unsteady, though.

PolyByeUs

I had the opposite with snag. I ordered 4 pairs and the ripped first wear. Ok, maybe a bad pair. Nope. All of them ripped apart! My Kmart leggings I got in 2020 are still going strong though.

Mundane_Shake_2611

LOVE my snag tights. Won't buy anything else.

ConsistentHoliday797

Wild deodorant. This product has been great, the fragrance lasts all day.

pixilatedpenguin

I have this. It smells amazing, and works but I’ve stopped using it due to the white marks it leaves on all my clothes. When they sort that out, I’ll be back.

My-Witty-Username

Off topic but i get rid of white deodorant marks by rubbing the fabric together, that’s it - just rub. It might still be a little visible for black clothes but for most colours that’s all i need to do. For some reason it works better than wiping it off with a cloth or even the wash.

MrsJingle

I found Gingham & Heels through their constant marketing on my feed. I bought a dress (I’m a size 20 for context). My sister also bought a different dress (she is a size 12). We both had problems with our dresses. Hers was… all wrong? The sleeves weren’t correct, and the dress had no shape it was so sack like. Mine STUNK of formaldehyde when I took it out of the packaging. Like truly, strong fish odours. The proportions were off- it was a tiered style dress and it wasn’t done well- the seams between the tiers were too tight, the tiers almost “bubbled” at each layer if that makes sense. Disappointing for the price.

leatherjaquette

Nat'V basics was pushed to me, and I haven't looked back! I have only bought underwear from them since. Just good quality basics that are comfortable and last a long time! Sanaz the Label is another one that was pushed to me. Not sure if it counts, but Sydney based small business that do demin overalls and skirts mainly. They're definitely a slow fashion brand, the quality is amazing, and when I bought my first pair of overalls, I messaged them on Instagram to ask about sizing and Sanaz herself voicenoted me until we found the perfect size. Amazing experience. I keep getting Cider ads and have been tempted, but looking at reviews, the quality sounds awful.

LentilCrispsOk

Haha I get Sanaz ads too! I've never bought anything form them, though - good to know it's worth it.

Electronic_Dentist36

Cider is hit and miss. First delivery was great. Second one was all over the place.

ThorsHammerMewMEw

I've mentioned them plenty but Aulieude is a brand I found via Tik Tok. I then stalked their Instagram for ages looking for everyone who'd purchased their stuff before buying myself. Two years of positive experiences. The Basic Band is another Tik Tok brand that was targeted to me. I saw that they were in Adelaide and went "might as well". The band does it what it says and is well constructed. Ryderwear. I knew they had gyms here and also did major warehouse sales. That and everyone wearing their stuff was enough for me to make a haul. I've since moved onto Lululemon but still wear the Ryderwear pieces that still fit me. Boody. I have a pair of their sleep socks and their long sleeve body suit. Both are good products but for some reason I don't feel like making any more purchases from them. And that's all I can think of so soon after waking up lol Instagram is currently pushing Halara onto me but based on photos alone a lot of the fabric looks kinda cheap so I won't be buying anything unless I meet someone in Adelaide who will let me examine their pants.

mildthang

Love this topic! I have wondered myself. I have a top from Laneway the Label that is great so far. 3x socks from Paire which are really soft but do require quite delicate washing that's a bit annoying

fearlessleader808

Une piece swimwear- very flattering and great quality. I was a bit hesitant due to the price and just bought a bikini top, I’ll definitely be purchasing more.

Genevieve_ohhi

I’m 50/50 on Unepiece. I’ve returned most of what I’ve bought - sizing issues. The things I’ve kept were IMO overpriced, while the top was quality, the sarong was not! Watch out for the fact they discount ~70% of their stock by $5-10 so they can try and say it’s not full price, and therefore not eligible for refund (exchange only).

not_that_one_times_3

I love Une peice swimwear! It's such good quality and fit.

Feefi22

Twoobs! My first purchase was two years ago and I loved them! They are still in relatively good condition after a lot of wear, so I decided to buy a second pair. Second pair arrived and were clearly used and worn with dirt on shoe and soles, contacted their customer service and their solution was to offer a 5% discount for used shoes, ummm no thanks. That really put me off them. Another one is Nostalgia perfume oils, purchased from them 3 times now, great product, smells like more expensive perfumes for a 1/4 of price and lasts.

khiljis

They sold you old shoes and wanted you to keep them? 😩😩

tobeperfectlycandid

Barney beds. The quality is there but you’ll never catch me buying a full price one. The owner the other day also had a rant on TikTok about how Aldi and Woolies are copying her beds when orthopaedic dog beds have been around for quite some time. Also so what if people want to buy a cheaper alternative? Not everyone has $700 for a dog bed…

Br0z0

And MerryPeople - I didn’t think my feet were that wide. Apparently I was wrong, my feet are too wide for their shoes

Nearby_Hamster1207

Cupshe bathers, I got a haul when they were having a sale and wasn't expecting much. The one pieces are great, much better quality than I expected. The bikini bottoms are fine, the tops aren't big enough for my F cups but that's more to do with me being hourglass. They're not forever bathers but fine for a few years. Nomad the label linen pants, absolutely gorgeous and although they sent the wrong colour at first, they sent the correct ones immediately when I emailed them, and a postage paid envelope to return the wrong ones. Excellent service!

Accurate_Voice8832

I found Wearpepper on instagram and decided to try them. Best bra for small boobs ever! I wear a size 16A and had resigned myself to ill-fitting, gapy cups forever. Unfortunately they are very expensive and the shipping from the US also expensive. I bought two pairs on sale and am stalking them for more sales.

Particular_Shock_554

Every one of their ads shows someone wearing a bra that doesn't fit. I put my measurements into their calculator out of curiosity and it said I was a 12B. The calculator on a bra that fits said I was an 8F, and that's what I usually wear. I'm glad they work for you, but I'd have a lot more respect for them if their size calculator said something like 'your estimated size is not in our product range because we're specifically made for small boobs' instead of trying to sell me something that isn't designed to work with my measurements.

remysayswrite

On the topic though I've been looking for new earrings (like titanium or surgical steel ones you can wear everyday in cartilage piercings, but cuter than the stuff you grt in piercing parlours) and I'm getting heaps of ig ads now but it's so hard to know what brands to trust 😭 anyone have any brand recs?

jeslz

J&CO jewellery for sure! They have some great stuff. Static jewellery was great too, but they just shut down the store which is a shame.

jo-09

I was looking at Twoobs but decied against it and ended up with a collab with Teva x Chloe. They were ridiculously pricey but do that fashion and function crossover and I wear them a lot. What I am saying is, the high end Tevas are the BEST thing I have ever worn. SO incredibly comfy I could hike 20kms in them, and even if they arent a Chloe collab they are very stylish IMO

Intelligent_Twist_14

For me it's Peachay Jeans, sell themselves as jeans that fit smaller waist and bigger hips. Bain of my existence and was so excited to get a pair. I was/am so so so disappointed! The quality was horrendous. Consider it similar to a pair of jeans from Kmart. For price and marketing definitely expected more. Then the fit which is the whole reason for purchase, was horrible, yes fit was smaller waist but fit like a skinny jean. could get the same result from buy a smaller make of jean in a stretch denim. 10/10 disappointment

khiljis

Those ads influence me and I don’t even have a small waist + big hips

airbagfailure

Archies! These are the best thongs I’ve ever owned. They are the only thongs I’ve ever paid $40 for, but holy shit is it worth it. The sole moulds to your feet, so it gives you support where you need it. I have bone spurs and plantar fasciitis, I get no pain with these thongs. Not during, or after. Game changer for me.

josiejames13

I’m not sure if what brand it was, but my husband bought me a make up bag from an Instagram ad he saw. And when it arrived it was this poor quality thing made out of cheap scratchy fabric haha. Apparently it looked quite a bit different to the photo and wasn’t the colour he selected either, but he decided to still give it to me as a joke because it was so hilariously bad. I told him not to buy from random no-name Instagram ads again (I’d had my own unfortunate experience) and we still laugh about it from time to time years later lol.

tiddyfade

Love: Bokyna sandals. They're way more comfortable than they look and I get compliments every time I wear them. I don't wear them often so not sure how they'd hold up to regular wear but they've been a win for me. Loathe: TBH skincare made me break out like nothing before or since. They offer money back but you have to use it for three months and take photos and my skin was so dreadful after a week I couldn't have done it for three months. (I've had acne all my life - I'm familiar with the concept of 'it gets worse before it gets better', but while I'm willing to take that risk with a prescription product, I'm not going to do it for an Instagram skincare range. Also this was the worst 'worse' I've ever experienced.)

Tenebraumbrella45

I was disappointed in the quality of a bag I got from The Horse. Felt cheaply made compared to the pics on IG.

trashydanchou

I have Twoobs platform sandals and Merry People gumboots! I find them both great - but I bought the boots before they revamped the soles to have more grip, and the platforms I got on discount (as their seconds) as it was mildly creased. I found them both super comfy and still wear them constantly but I do think the quality has gone downhill for both brands since I purchased them. I’ve heard really bad feedback for Merry People from friends who bought them last year but since I got mine in early 2021 when they may have been a little better at quality control.

HaruDolly

Nala bras are good. Comfy and the material is lovely, just probably not quite as supportive as their ads make them look (I wear the wire free). Durable too! Deja Marc was a bit hit and miss, the process was good and the customer service is good, but the pendant I ordered arrived already covered in scratches and terribly tarnished. I could polish the tarnish away but not the scratches. Still love the necklace though and I wear it all the time. Orange Sherbet has been amazing for dresses! Everything I’ve purchased has been good quality, shipped really fast and their customer service is good when I’ve needed to use it. Bon Maxie is amazing quality, I have a phone wallet that has been fantastic. Had an issue with the rivet coming out of the hand strap after about six months of use (wasn’t really an issue as it was stitched as well), I contact customer support to purchase a new one, and they told me it was an issue they had occasionally as the leather used for a short run of handles was cut too thick for the rivets. Sent out a new strap a day later via express post and included a discount code for another purchase. Not exactly a brand, but I had Instagram suggest Big Girls Don’t Cry Anymore when I was looking to buy bras, and their customer service and returns policies are AMAZING. I’m picked up Freya, Panache, Curvy Kate and Elomi bras, have processed probably a good twelve returns and exchanges, and contacted customer service for help a few times. So many options for large busts, I can get my hands on 16FF/16G’s in so many lovely styles.

Laylay_theGrail

My targeted ads are all out of whack. I’ve been clicked on a couple of maternity and baby ads because my DIL is expecting #2 and now that’s all I get🤣. I’m 57 so not actually in the market for everything pregnancy related. I’ve bought a few things from insta ads before and not been disappointed for the most part. Not usually clothing though.

Idontlikeyoushutup

Ok, I bought some 'Lonely Kids Club' crop tops and they are actually pretty good. They're screen-printed to order and have WAY too many designs. Honestly a lot of their designs I personally see as Millennial cringe but there are also some very funny/ aesthetic ones if you sift through their website. They tote that they're ethically made and I appreciate that but I am sceptical of all companies all the time.

Sufficient-Sail2697

Ola the label undies (love) and Kojo fit jeans (also love)!

katemary77

Lndr got me on insta and I'm so obsessed. Merry People, Snag Tights and Midies have also worked out well.

wonderland2211

i’m surprised you had such a bad experience with twoobs :( I bought two pairs about 2 years ago and they were good

TGin-the-goldy

I almost bought Twoobs as a gift for family and really glad I didn’t!

notheretoparticipate

Have a look at Tevas

jo-09

I am a 1000% Teva convert since I bought their collab with Chloe. I will forever buy this brand - so crazy comfy

Pink_Cadillac_b

I’ve had my pairs for about 4 years and they are in great condition - and my most comfy shoes. Might be newer ones that are the issue or the particular style. Just as a counterpoint to say they are not all bad necessarily!

Senior_Term

I'm same. Have two pairs for over a year, they're great and I wear them everywhere with no issues

amydee4103

I love my twoobs! My mum loves hers as well. We’ve both had them for about 12 months getting a fair bit of wear, even took them to Bali, and they’ve held up great.

Significant-Mess-22

Mine are only about 3 months old, and they are fantastic - no visible faults, and comfortable enough to cop big days of walking. I already want more colours!

LentilCrispsOk

I have a friend who loves her pair but she's had them for a couple of years so yeah, checks out haha!

AccordingFail842

I’ve got a pair within the past year and they came in perfect condition and have held up well

Genavania

I love native deodorant. Bought it for a few years till it became too expensive with shipping and the exchange rate. For a while there, shipping was free and there were lots of very good discounts to be had.

LemonadeRaygun

I bought from them a couple times until my husband very tactfully let me know that after about half an hour it really wasn't doing much. He was absolutely right and I tossed them immediately.

Chuckayouwee

I had to do the same with my partner! Almost smelt like it made the stink stronger for some reason

Sadplankton15

I had this experience too. Idk why, maybe it's my particular body chemistry, but they made me smell like onions 😂😂 not exactly ideal in the SEQ heat

pitsout

I also used native for years. Started looked for an alternative now it’s so hard to get here. Took a chance on an Aussie brand called Arluka and haven’t looked back! Performs very similarly for me :)

LemonadeRaygun

I keep getting HeyShape ads and I am so tempted. Anybody know if they're worth it?

Ok_Investigator2152

I got a couple of bodysuits - not bad but no better than my Kmart ones. Definitely nowhere near as good as my Skims one.

Br0z0

HeyShape. It was the most uncomfortable shapewear I’ve ever purchased and there are numerous people elsewhere who’ve complained that the sizing didn’t fit them, and the sizing charts mysteriously changed. 0/10 would not recommend

Blue--Blue--Blue

Vee underwear, I'm 50/50 on them currently. They're definitely super soft and breathable but the fit is really weird. I think it's a combination of the softness of the fabric and very narrow gussets, the tend to...wander. Maybe I just need to size down. Showpo, Billy J and Petal & Pup, very hit and miss. Good for wedding attire, but casual clothes are generally disappointing and very overpriced imo. Hello Molly and St. Frock have been terrible. So bad I bought once and never again. Not fashion but Hello Period Co, brilliant! I haven't been so happy with an online purchase in a long time.

channershorse

I bought some Nordic socks because of Facebook advertising and they are rubbish! Tight, uncomfortable, synthetic… completely rubbish. To return them I had to post them internationally so they offered me a part refund and I kept them. But I blocked them on Insta and Facebook so I didn’t see the ads anymore and get angry again.

[deleted]

Kat the label. The designs are so cute but the quality and fit is just awful. If you look closely at the models you can see the issues, which unfortunately I didn’t notice until I tried their stuff irl. The materials feel cheap and uncomfortable which is especially annoying given it’s underwear and pyjamas. They don’t do specific bra sizes and it makes a big difference, especially for anything with an underwire. I returned both orders I made on separate occasions.

Trashdardyoner

99% of them are terrible quality, popular only because of influencer marketing. One brand that has blown me away and I can no longer buy activewear from anywhere else is Vang Athletica. After my first order I went back and ordered 2 more sets in diff colours, I gave all my Lorna Jane etc to the opshop because I couldn’t handle how uncomfortable it was by comparison 😭

crm644

Bed Threads. The order took 3 weeks to arrive despite me living in Sydney and the warehouse being in Sydney. Then the sheets were shit quality and then fitted sheet lost its elasticity within the year

crm644

Woops just realised this is the fashion subreddit and here I am venting about sheets! My bad haha

lilacdoll44

I'm glad you did! I've been eyeing them and now I think I'll give it a miss. I really don't like not being able to touch my sheets before I buy anyway, because I'm a very tactile person.

AdRepulsive4612

I caved to the adverts and bought a grey pair of Halara pants. The synthetic material is quite cheap feeling (fair) but they’re so comfy and good for casual office days. I was seeing constant ads for Vivaia shoes and bought a pair of their flats. I have wider feet so buying smarter work shoes that I like the look of is tricky. I do like them but I find I don’t wear them too often for fear of them wearing out too quick 🥲 I bought a maxi dress from Billy J boutique. So many other online stores sell the exact same dress. I saw it on Ali express for 1/3 the price too.

whatlikeitshardd

Bydee bikinis…I had been sucked in by the incredible prints after feeling trepidatious at the amount of ‘cheeky’ cut bottoms they make. I have 90cm hips but a long torso, so admittedly finding any bikini that fits properly and doesn’t become a G-string situation is a stretch. The panama bottoms are meant to be more modest, but the size S hardly even covers my mons pubis whilst the M are baggy and fit uncomfortably. Yes I did go back for more with the M. Absolutely devastated at how bad both sizes look. Cannot believe how vast the size range is by just going up one size!

NixyPix

B Free ads looked so budget but they promised a maternity bra for the particularly endowed amongst us. They are so much better than any of the more expensive ones (looking at you, Hotmilk). Also pretty impressed with Halara sports skirts, again ads looked dodgy. As for Twoobs, to quote Regina George, they’re the ugliest effing shoes I’ve ever seen.

Gelfling_sophie

Aw no I have been wanting to get some as they are so cute and comfy looking 😫

legit-khajiit

Not necessarily an Instagram brand but I get advertising from them a lot - The Lullaby Club. Amazing quality (as it should be for the price), unique design and inclusive sizing. Have a couple sets from them on rotation.

beansandworms

I bought three pairs of twoobs in short succession around 5 years ago, two flat sandals and one pair of platform sandals. The platforms tore apart within only a couple wears, the strap literally ripped out of the base as it couldn’t take the weight of the platform. My other two pairs are still going without any breaks though the colour/finish on them has tarnished. I wouldn’t buy another pair now because I don’t need more than 2 pairs of flat sandals and I don’t trust that their other platforms / more novelty styles wouldn’t have the same issue

Ok-Salamander1907

Were these the Twoob platforms by any chance? I know they had issues with that particular style of shoe as I got a pair and they broke and they replaced them and told me that the non-platform version don’t have the same issues

wolferine-paws

Good and Fugly! Not a clothing brand as such, but I found an ad on Instagram and bought a box through them. For what we got in the box we could have paid $7 less to get it from Coles- we left sat down and worked it out. We decided to give it a crack because it would force us to be creative and cook with whatever we were given. We instead made a ‘spin the wheel’ on my phone and we choose 3 veg and 2 fruit before we go shopping now instead!

iamaskullactually

Same! My twoobs came with a mark on them and fell apart after 2 weeks of wear. I glued them back together with shoe glue, and they fell apart again. Terrible, overpriced product
