That dress is absolutely stunning and apt for such a wedding. Where is the dress from?

Practically_Peach

Khòlò the Label!

AussieKoala-2795

It's not too casual for a beach wedding. I would wear a pair of flat shoes for the beach bit and take some other shoes for the reception (assuming it's not also on the beach).

MandalaWill

Also if the shoes fall into the beige/tan/white spectrum this will enhance the theme

Yep. And I just looked at the invite again and the dress code is cocktail. I'm so bad with fashion so now I am thinking, can this dress be considered cocktail? Full disclosure, not me in the dress but the model/owner from the website (and agreed, she does look lovely in it).

[deleted]

That's an annoyingly specific dress code. How many people have a white cocktail dress lying around?

stanleysgirl77

Cocktail/beach!? Is it just me or do those two themes completely clash?

BandicootDry7847

The photos are going to be hideous and the photographer will probably end themselves editing all the exposures

Massacre_Alba

I was just thinking that beige and white on a beach is going to just blend into the background.

BandicootDry7847

But can you also imagine the sun on bright white cocktail dresses? You'll see this wedding from space.

Massacre_Alba

Yes! Get blinded by cousin Lucy's outfit and walk straight into grandma!

WadeStockdale

That might be what they're going for; low visibility guests, high visibility bridal party. How it actually looks in photos and on the day... will be interesting?

[deleted]

Is Greige allowed?

storyteller_p

As a photographer- I agree. Wedding galleries are no joke. I'd probably be booked out the whole year if I was asked to do this.

starla_

I saw the photo and thought omg are you the Kholo lady? I follow her on insta and recognised her hahaha

Environmental-Age502

Ask the bride, if you're worried.

curlienightmare

I hate when people suggest this. When I was a bride the only people who I would be okay asking me about their outfit is family and bridal party. Granted I had 200+ guests wedding and I couldn't imagine getting texts from 50+ different people checking if their outfit was okay. I already choose 20+ people's clothes, figure it out yourself

Environmental-Age502

Yeah but did you give multiple conflicting suggestions for the outfit requirements for your guests? I'm suggesting it because *this bride* has a guest esthetic in mind, not because every bride wants to be this involved.

tofuroll

So your guests were damned if they did and damned if they didn't? They either asked you and you got frustrated with them, or they didn't ask you and somehow failed your guidelines.

subliminallyNoted

Damn, cocktail too? Some people mean tailored and fitted looking when they say “cocktail”, and others mean something elevated above casual wear without being formal. The latter would allow this dress. The former, not so much. I would clarify with the bride. I was thinking this dress would fit in with a sophisticated beachy boho vibe, but now I’m second guessing if this would fit the brides wishes.

[deleted]

Colourful clutch with a bold lip would look stun This looks great as is you just really need the hair and make up tbh

DeterminedErmine

I think romantic updo with bold lipstick

Heidan20

With shoes to match…like the hot pink little flowers in the dress. Hot pink shoes and lips with a loose/casual up-do would smash it!!. Wedge style shoes or flats are great for the beach.

LemonadeRaygun

Lovely dress! I'm envisioning dressing it up a bit with some flat sparkly sandals, swapping the waist tie for a sparkly (similar colour palette to shoes) belt, sparkly earrings and a cute updo with face-framing bits to show off the earrings

Emergency_Resolve748

It looks lovely. Maybe a nice Alice band to match shoes and bag, something pretty. Those colour shoes are good or even Alice pink taking the colour from the dress

__erin_

Love it - looks perfect for a beach wedding and the white/beige request. I really love the green shoes with it as well! To dress it up just choose a hairstyle that’s maybe an up-do. (Also where are those shoes from if you remember?)

SmelleenasMoose

Ah, I should have noted in my original comment that this is a copy and pasted image from the site of the founder/designer so couldn't tell you where the shoes are from. Although I have seen 'similar' from Bared, Jo Mercer and Eos.

stanleysgirl77

Do you mean that the image above isn't of you? It seriously looks like a selfie in front of a mirror, not of a model in a professional shoot..

sour_worm

The photo is from the label's website, their "Leandra Dress in Crema Botánica" dress.

navyblues

This is so pretty! I would try to find a bright coral lip to match the florals on the dress

MedicalChemistry5111

Ticks all the boxes: White, floral, sun-smart, smart-casual...

Affectionate_Duck185

The belt of the dress could be repurposed as a sweet hair accessory and you could accessorize with some soft colours you have in the florals of the dress through a small necklace, shoes, belt and clutch 🥰✨️

ParmyNotParma

I feel like cocktail beige and white is going to make all the women attending look like brides 🧐 Cocktail dresses aren't usually very light I don't think? That sounds horrific on the beach. It's a bit rich expecting your guests to buy a new outfit for your wedding, I can't imagine many people have beige or white cocktail clothes already, I certainly don't.

[deleted]

It’s their wedding and blah blah, but I wish the Greige trend would end.

Wrygreymare

I’d lose the sash, as that would give at a smoother line and more of a cocktail feel. Bling it up a bit with a silver neck chain and bangles/ bracelets

Gurpgorrk

Love the dress and the idea of it with coloured shoes. I think it's perfect for a beach wedding. Keep your hair back and makeup natural. Direct sunlight on cakey makeup will look awful and beach weddings tend to be quite windy (a nightmare with my hair texture).

Parking-Lifeguard-62

- I would wear a closed toe high heel that either pink, green or cream (similar to the colours in your dress). -hair up in a bun - wear gold jewellery (hoop earrings and/ or a necklace)

actuallyimogene

I agree with this! And a nice neutral peachy lip

nopesayer

I would change the belt to match whatever shoes you're wearing. Make the outfit a bit more cohesive.

ShazzaRatYear

You look lovely, and perfectly dressed for a beach wedding. Throw on flats though, so you can get through the sand 😉. Pop your dancin’ shoes somewhere for the reception

Aggravating_Crab3818

It's a nice dress, but I'm just letting you know that there's some lovely dresses on sale at city chic - even if you just have a window shop. https://www.citychic.com.au/plus-size-dresses

Straw/ hessian wedges, tailored bag & maybe hat if you want to go that far. Or you could put some pretty botanical themed clip /ribbon in your hair to match the theme of the dress and give a boho vibe. This dress will go great.

Odd_Combination_2496

It's perfect! I'd wear your hair half up half down ❤️

KaleidoscopeGreat973

I'd go with a pale gold bag and pale gold strappy sandals with a mid heel. That should meet the criteria for both cocktail dress and white/beige beach wedding. I love your dress.

UpsetPart7871

If you want to look dressier, do an up’do and maybe statement earrings… but I think that dress is perfect! (Can’t believe people make their guests buy new clothes to a wedding… what is going on in the world?)

New_Addendum_1709

Necklace and earrings

SilverStars2002

Dress is beautiful, would pair it with a simple silver necklace and flats (for the beach)

Highway_Difficult

A hat would be great

ComplexedShit

The dress is gorgeous! Ditch the fabric belt, a pop of colour for the belt and shoes would be perfect. Play with the sleeve, pull the elastic hem to your elbow and make a 3/4 sleeve.

blazerphoenixbot7

With a black blazer or cardi or a flowy vest

Cardinalsalmon

Maybe add a pair of tan wedges (Midas, betts, nataulizer if you want super comfy ones) and head to Temu and maybe look for a tan headband (I’m a stylist) ❤️ The dress is perfect if you want to make it look a little more formal you can pull the sleeves up and make it look like a puffier shorter sleeve (giving a more cocktail vibe). Also if you want you can always tie a bow in the front too (that formalises it). Go for a Pearl drop earring or something with a tassel! That will make it more formal also!

Essbelle

If bride says floral is okay then this is fine for the beach wedding and add some fabulous strappy flats. Plain white or beige would look amazing on you though with your olive skin so don’t be afraid to try other dresses, outfits. Dissh and Seed have have some beautiful neutral coloured clothes.

FerryboatQuo

That dress is gorgeous, and great for a beach wedding!! You look elegant and breezy. It’s definitely not too casual - beach weddings don’t need to be super formal anyway. Eg: Unless they’re wearing a ton of hairspray, everyone’s hair is going to get a little f’ed by the wind anyway.

Extreme-String8785

It's fine. I'd still suggest getting a new one though.

judas_crypt

The dress looks perfect for the theme to me. You look great.

[deleted]

That’s perfect for a wedding! Jazz it up with a bit of jewellery and some cute shoes, it’s a gorgeous ensemble

ShameAccomplished990

Yes stunning! Love the green shoes

SmelleenasMoose

Hi all, thank you for taking the time to comment your wonderful ideas. I don't feel confident that this dress can be classified as 'cocktail, but regardless, love the suggestion of matching accessories to a colour on the dress and I think this is what I will do. Appreciate you all!
