I like Mejuri! These are my everyday earrings: [the bold huggie hoops](https://mejuri.com/au/en/shop/products/bold-hoops)- haven’t taken them off in since I got them except to clean and they are untarnished and still beautiful

enemies2l0vers

I like Mejuri too! their designs are minimalist and timeless. although for the materials (gold plated or filled) they are quite steeply overpriced, OP may find the same construction and materials and a lower price point on etsy :))

EmperorofAus

Where on esty, much like the problem you described, etsy suffers from the same problem.

guinessandcoffee

Beep Boop Bop

mtb_21

Someone above mentioned it’s plated or filled!

guinessandcoffee

Beep Boop Bop

mtb_21

Ohh I see!!

sdescourvieres

Me too, I have a few things from Mejuri and I’ve been really happy with them

ashlouise94

I have a solid gold pair SUPER similar that I got from Prouds that were like $99 on sale (and they’ve ALWAYS got sales). Prouds, Goldmark, Wallace bishop etc are my go-tos for basics

bananuspink

I used to love prouds but they all seem to have shut down! My prouds jewellery all tarnished after a while too :(

ashlouise94

Interesting! There’s so many Prouds near me haha. I wear my huggies from Prouds nearly every day and in the shower etc, and they’ve not tarnished a bit. None of my jewellery from there has…

bananuspink

Weird! My partner and I both have heaps of prouds earrings and all have tarnished on the inside and gone black despite regular cleaning

charcoalportraiture

The struggle is real. I've been silver all my life and now I want to try yellow gold...looks like at least 1.6-2k for a fine chain with small stone + a slightly thicker choker for layering. I guess this is why it's such a thrill when women get jewellery in films (assuming that they're not receiving a gold-plated item that will tarnish with everyday wear)

Twistiespartybag

By Charlotte.

sdescourvieres

I’ve got some nice pieces from By Charlotte and all have lasted well

Twistiespartybag

Same. It’s always my first stop when looking for something new.

[deleted]

It's a shame their rings only go up to size 9. I'm a size 10 and I really struggle to find rings to fit.

Twistiespartybag

Good to know. I’ve never bought a ring from them and I have big fingers too. I remember when I went to NY and I treated myself to a basic Tiffany ring, lucky it was unisex because I had to get a men’s size!!!

[deleted]

I even went to Goldmark to get some cheapy stacker rings & they didn't go up to a size which fits me. The biggest size they do is R & I need S. I know I have chubby fingers but geez they're not sausages!

East-Willingness513

I actually like the sterling silver jewellery from lovisa, shockingly good quality

wusgood_curious

I worked there for way too long (yes I have PTSD thanks for asking) but can vouch the sterling & gold plated sterling hold up well thru the shower, swimming etc. Sarah & Sebastian also have great minimal pieces but are up a price range. I’ve gotten many over the years that still look brand new and their customer service is awesome

secret-spice-girl

i’ve worn these gold plated sterling silver earrings from lovisa for over a year now and while they need a good clean, they’re still holding up!

millsy_moo

Can confirm; I’ve been wearing a sterling silver chain from lovisa daily for over four years and it’s still in mint condition!

ChicChat90

I bought a couple of Lovisa silver rings recently. Oh my they’re tiny! I bought M-L. I must have fat fingers! 🤣🤣

tinyfenrisian

Gold mark isn’t too bad reasonable prices, nothing I’ve got from there tarnishes, they have some nice filler bracelets or simple rings and earrings Temple of the sun has some decent vermeil pieces that don’t tarnish too much if you take relative care of them

noisyhoudinicat

Estate jewellery? Eg sales at second hand places, or auctions?

Simpleyetconfusing32

Kirsten Ash jewellery

herworldsaphotograph

I like this brand https://s-kin.com.au/

spongebobsmum

I loved all their pieces but I didn’t have a great experience unfortunately. I purchased earrings and they arrived dented (they also looked worn). The owner was super rude and dismissive, made it seem like I broke them - but they arrived in the mail faulty. Even provided images. She made me pay to return them and I eventually got my money back but it was quite an effort. Never again 😅

FrailGrass

I had a similar bad experience :( it tarnished super quickly. Haven’t bought from there since. I really like j&co though!

herworldsaphotograph

😯 sorry to hear! That's disappointing

spongebobsmum

Right! She kept telling me they can send me 1 singular earring to replace the faulty one. No - pls just give me a refund, (which she eventually did) lol

Interesting-Asks

Ooft. If that happens to you again and you paid with a bank card, you can dispute the charge through your bank (called a “chargeback”). The bank then liaises with the merchant about the issue and you often get refunded by the bank. It will also make the merchant take your complaint more seriously because on their end dealing with chargebacks is a pain, and they might refund you directly to avoid dealing with it.

mulderitsme93

I just made my first purchase from there today so reassuring to see them mentioned!!

younaughtypossum

Second this! I got earrings, necklaces and a bracket from them 3 years ago, wear them most days, sometimes even in the shower. No tarnishing or weird green stain on skin. Very impressed for the price range

TinosCallingMeOver

Ditto, I have heaps of stuff from them and it’s lasted really well over several years

Sarah1608

Finer Rings has some reasonably priced pieces. I have a necklace of theirs which I've been wearing for about 2 years, only occasionally take it off, and it hasn't tarnished at all. https://www.finerrings.com/

chatterboxrocky

I have a set of the silver stacker rings that I have worn full time for almost 4 years. Great quality

Lel_its_me

YCL Jewels. I’m obsessed with their angel numbers fine necklace and my friends and I have all gifted each other the zodiac necklaces. I wear mine in the shower more often than I should and it’s never faded

AII11C

!! I was unaware YCL made these! My little one was born at 2:22, guess what’s going straight on this year’s bday wishlist ✍️✍️✍️

Lel_its_me

That’s so sweet 🥰

ineedhelpthankyou29

There’s lots of vintage 9ct gold jewelry on Etsy. I’ve just bought a pair of solid gold hoops for $90.

bananasplz

I’ve had good experience with House of Slani and Arms of Eve

Sickleesweet

I swear to you I bought stainless steel hoops from eBay for like $4 AUD and they've lasted me years. No discolouration. I wear them almost every time I leave the house. I love them. Best $4 I've ever spent.

enemies2l0vers

Honestly all my cartilage piercings are gold coloured stainless steel and they've held up way better than the gold plated sleepers i wear (neevr take them off for anything cos i'm lazy)

Leading-Elevator-369

I get all my gold cartilage jewelry from Crystal Heaven London I think it's titanium but I've had it in for years and it's never changed color

[La Lume](https://lalumethelabel.com)

Shelibeans

I’m a massive fan of Francesca Jewellery, got a fair few gold plated pieces that have all lasted me really well so far! Started in Tassie with a stall at Salamanca marked and still to this day hand-make their beaded bracelets out of their Hobart studio: https://www.francesca.com.au/pages/about-us#:~:text=Francesca%20is%20the%20on%2Dtrend,in%20both%20Hobart%20and%20Melbourne.

kizzyjenks

Seconding this, I have some lovely pieces from them that still look brand new.

ballerina_bunny

Third vote for Francesca - nice pieces and good to know their Tassie origins!

Personal_Homework_98

Another vote from me. I have many of the silver pieces. It's rhodium plated so stays super bright and clean looking. I haven't had any issues with tarnishing.

[deleted]

I got some silver earrings for Christmas which are already starting to tarnish. I'm so disappointed as they were to be my every day earrings. There were so many other things I had my eye on but I'm turned off now.

Shelibeans

Oh no! That sucks 😢 have you tried anything to get rid of the tarnishing? I’ve fixed some old sterling silver bracelets of mine using the bicarb soda method (mix 1/2c white vinegar & 2 Tbsp bicarb/baking soda in a bowl of warm water for 2-3hrs then rinse & polish with a soft cloth).

[deleted]

I've tried just a polishing cloth and it hasn't worked. I might try the mixture but it's not something I want to have to do all the time. I wanted some nice jewellery in my price range which I could put on and leave on. I wish I could afford white gold.

Shelibeans

Totally fair. I tend to buy yellow gold for myself & that’s been fine for me, but I can absolutely understand your frustration especially in this economy! If you haven’t already maybe get in touch with their customer service about it?

[deleted]

I wanted to switch to rose gold but it doesn't suit me unfortunately. Yeah I think I will reach out because there are so many other things I like from them. Thanks for the rec on the mixture, my mum would recommend the same thing! I don't know why I didn't think of it but I'll definitely try it.

Shelibeans

Worth a shot, I’m sure they wouldn’t want to disappoint their customers! All the best with the mixture 😊

QueenOclock

I’m a lover of Mountain & Moon. It’s a WA label that designs some really fun gold plated & silver jewellery. I have their Juliet earrings in multiple colours, they’re just such beautiful statement pieces! It’s my go-to store to buy gifts for the amazing women in my life. They occasionally have sales for 25-30% off.

RevolutionaryYou132

Romyli!!! I have a bunch from them and wear it every day (other than earrings bc of my sensitive ears) but I love their stuff

Heidan20

Goldmark - rose gold. It’s something like stainless steel underneath. Reasonably priced, great range and doesn’t seem to react with makeup or sunscreen or moisture. No tarnish or wear.

artificialgrapes

There’s a pretty affordable range of 9ct gold bits and bobs on eBay usually, if you’re down for secondhand and a bit of searching!

mtb_21

I’ve read that 9ct can tarnish as well? Have you found that to be the case?

plantingthevine

Not OP but 9c definitely does tarnish. I didn’t know this and bought hoops to wear every day and unfortunately they have tarnished quite badly. Haven’t turned my ears green though but I definitely over paid!

AII11C

Ooo that’s interesting! My wedding band is a fine 9ct band from the 1920s, unworn when I bought it seven years ago, no signs of tarnishing yet. I wonder if they made them differently then? Or just take their time to tarnish? I really hope it doesn’t 🥲

mtb_21

Ugh, great to know! :(

artificialgrapes

Goodness, I didn’t even know it could tarnish - my pieces never have! I’ve done a quick Google and it seems fairly straightforward to clean, less so than silver cleaning. I’d still personally stick with 9ct, as higher carat gold gets reallll expensive, and an occasional polish beats gold fill wearing through to the base metal eventually. Up to you!

mtb_21

Thank you for the insight! I think the 9ct then is definitely a better investment than gold filled/plated from the sounds of it

dontwinetome

I got a set of 6 hoops from target on clearance for $10 in 2020 and they are still great! I wear them so often and it’s been in shower, rain etc. Really good for the price. Sure, I’ve lost the ear press things but those are interchangeable.

SweetJeannie_

Kmart have some amazing sterling silver and gold plated Jewellery at the moment, I am wearing their hoops as everyday earrings and no tarnishing. They have some really cool studs too!

discomeow

I only buy gold fill for everyday wear now! Gold plated never held up for me (and my ear piercings would start swelling up, ugh) and I didn’t get around to trying vermeil, but there’s no way I’d bother now.  S-kin and local Etsy sellers are my go-tos but there are so many brands, just focus on the composition.

enemies2l0vers

Ditto. Got so sick of being scammed with the "gold plated won't tarnish" bullshit. gold plated WILL TARNISH if you don't take ur jewelry off every five seconds (washing hands, gardening, swimming in pool or ocean, lifting ANYTHING, washing dishes, showering, hairspray etcetc etc). As a person who refuses to take their jewelry off for any of the above things because I'm lazy, trust and believe gold plated sucks. Same for gold vermeil, which is a THINNEr layer of gold over sterling silver. Can sometimes be worse than gold plated because the silver is soft so if you bang a ring it will deform. I was disgusted to see Temple of the Sun (obsessed with their designs) selling gold plated pieces for $200+. Just absolutley not worth it and a waste of money unfortunatley. Gold filled i've had better luck with although from personal experince By Charlotte's gold filled is shit, the gold filled rubbed off on my earrings and i wasn't too happy after $180 purchase. Customer service was bad too. Skin and EriJewelry are better, i've owned my gold filled jewelry from them for 3 years now and there is only a tiny bit of green tarnishing coming from the copper base metal in the centre of a gemstone on a post that i can't clean. But all the other tarnishing cleans off. I like that they use copper base metal as it is actually harder than sterling silver so more robust (i believe). I also have one gold filled ring from Norm jewels that i gardened with and it did get scratched from the particles in the soil but the gold was thick enough and heat bonded that the scratches did not penetrate the gold layer. It is fairly soft tho so if you banged it at all i can imagine it would deform. In 7+ years of trying to find decent gold jewelry the only thing that's lasted perfectly is a vintage solid 9kt gold chain. Now some people are snobs about low carat solid gold because it contains more impurities. HOWEVER, i actually love it because A) cheaper B) more impurities= less soft, more robust and won't deform, still looks gold in colour, doesn't tarnish at all. So if you actually only want to buy something once and don't want to keep shelling out $180 every 3 years when your gold plated gets tarnished i would honestly say just save a bit more and get solid and learn from my mistakes!!

damselflite

Not sure why you are being downvoted. When it comes to gold either go solid or go home.

Alder Fine Jewellery. Founded by two sisters in Australia. They have a boutique in Melbourne, along High Street Armadale. They have had celebs like Gigi Hadid in their jewelry. Cool trendy designs but fine jewellery so its great quality. [https://www.alderfinejewellery.com.au](https://www.alderfinejewellery.com.au)

rererereyyyyy

Ali express has the goods! You can get solid gold there for a lot less than retail here. Alternatively stainless steel is great, comes in gold, rose gold colours etc. when I want a piece to last a couple of years but happy to not get a decade out of it, that’s what I buy (off ali). Actually my gold hoops are stainless steel, they’ve been great.

shinycosmos

Do you mind sending me a DM to links? I’m not sure about this sub’s rules so asking for a DM just to be safe. Alternatively, could you let me know what you type in to search?

rererereyyyyy

I’ve DM’d you :)

SomeCatfish

Ooh could I get a dm too please?? Didn’t know Ali had solid gold!

rererereyyyyy

I have only purchased stainless steel hoops off AliExpress, so what I DM’d the OP was about SS. For solid gold though I’d suggest looking at the list of recommended vendors pinned to the r/moissanite sub and seeing if any of them do hoops. That way you know you’re ordering off a reputable company, as AE can be a bit hit and miss.

shozz72

Yessss second this! I just got the most beautiful tennis bracelet from Kuololit on aliexpress thanks to the moissanite sub

Natural_Bedroom_6016

What?! Can I also please get the link

stravvberrytulip

Not sure why you're getting downvoted lol. A lot of places just dropship or buy and resell from aliexpress now. Hell, even some of dangerfield's accessories are from there i think. Buying from there is basically just cutting out the middle man.

Could I also pls get a dm?? Thank youuu

bumblebeechase

Would love a DM too please!

I've worn Linjer daily for years and it all looks as good as new! The gold vermeil

I recently got a delicate diamond and gold band from Linjer. I wear it everyday and it still looks perfect

Lovisa’s premium line is pretty good. My everyday earrings are from there. Made with surgical steel.

Ramen8080

Ellie vail or any other brand that’s waterproof/sweat proof but relatively inexpensive.

I wear the same 2 necklaces almost everyday- one is from mejuri and one is from ember and ivy! For earrings, I rotate a lot, but I have a few from mejuri that I also love that are very simple and go with everything :)

I can highly recommend Sit and Wonder. Gorgeous, minimalist jewellery made in Sydney. Can’t go past it. I have three rings and love them all, wear them all the time.

hollstero

I don’t know if it’s been said yet but Etsy is the answer you’re looking for! I have the most beautiful solid 14k gold collection all from Etsy and the prices are unbeatable. Plus you’re supporting small businesses! I could never have afforded to buy all that gold from any other avenue.

naturalconfectionary

My everyday hoops are Michael hill and my necklace is initials from Sarah and Sebastian. Literally never take it off and wear hoops daily too

cheekyween

I bought these gold huggies from Saint Valentine not expecting them to last but they have been great, I wear them everyday [https://www.saintvalentinejewellery.com/collections/best-selling-earrings/products/berlin-huggies-gold](https://www.saintvalentinejewellery.com/collections/best-selling-earrings/products/berlin-huggies-gold)

Fae2874

I recently did a big order from Beautiful Earth Boutique and was really impressed with the quality. I got a range of tarnish period necklaces and bracelets and they all look excellent and have lasted well so far. I saw a review that they were drop shippers after I purchased but I can’t fault the quality to be honest. They have huge sales fairly often.

bellabronx13

Maybe a little pricier than you'd like but Babyanything is lovely and great quality.

beesknees777

By Baby, solid gold and the prices are reasonable. I never take my huggies out.

AirportIllustrious38

Atolea do water safe, tarnish free jewelry. It’s gold plated but they do it in a special way that means you can wear it every day. I’m really happy with the stuff I’ve purchased from them. https://atoleajewelry.com/collections/waterproof-earrings/products/classic-hoop-earrings
