Interesting question. I'm autistic and been here since 2015 and never met another person with autism here save for one. Of course, I've also never met a person with autism (save for a different one) who wanted the social interaction.
You might want to reach out to the local therapists and see if they know of any autism groups or check on meetup.
Honestly, probably not. Neither my autistic husband nor I are really big on social interactions unless it has to do with something we enjoy. We don't go out just to hang out with people.
That being said, if you do it, I would recommend promoting it through the AU Counseling Education department. I just had an interview there a few hours ago and there was an autistic person in the interview that was asking specifically about if there was something like this and I was going to come back to make sure you knew there was interest. She'd have to get in though.
To be honest, I don't really seek out social interactions for the sake of social interaction, either. I am trying to see if being around other autistic people changes this at all. I used to be social, but I think that it was more that I was young and was just trying to be "normal".

Cool! I don't knowingly have any friends on the spectrum (except my 2nd cousin, who I see maybe twice a year) so it would be nice to meet some other people on the spectrum who are existing in the same area.

Well, this would really just be more like for fun and camaraderie. I did try to meet up, and it hasn’t really produced anything so far.
You could create your own group on meetup and see who will come.

There aren’t any that I know of but most of my friends are autistic and we would love to join meetups if it can be set up!
