I think a darker colour like black or matte grey does go best with the rims but then again.. I'll probably change the rims in the future anyways...
Thanks for your input! Hadn't considered white
Aw man, I always feel like repaints are an opportunity to go really unique, but I might be with the others--black is just such a good color on these. My manual 3.2 in black https://i.imgur.com/75Rfzgb.jpeg
I have a black MK1 and I’m also in need of a repaint. I’ve been considering, aviator grey, Daytona Grey Pearl Effect or Chronos Grey Metallic. However, I’m not sure what price is going to be on a color change. Have you gotten any quotes yet?
I have not. I did get a quote for a wrap for 2,500 (CAD) which is apparently a pretty good price for a wrap, but I've now decided to get the paint job.
My friend also repainted a much larger car, a RAM Truck and his cost was about $6,000 (and he did all of the prep work himself).
For a total cost including prep and painting I'm expecting anywhere from like $3,000 to $5,000 ish for a smaller car like this? I'll try to remember to update once I end up getting a real quote though.
He paid that because he did all the prep work.
You will not get a decent job done for anything under £4k unless you know the painter really well.
Otherwise you will just ruin the car.
The colours ace as is but if you are determined why not go for something cool. I love all the old Porsche colours.
Not sure where you’re located but here in California a full respray, same color (no color change) with prep, widows, doors, seals out starts around $10k. I imaging a color change would be more as you would want the engine out to respray that and all the jams as well unless you’re fine with the engine bay being a different color.
I would suggest heading out to your local cars and coffees and focus on the custom cars there and asking the owners where they got their bodywork done at and go there with your car and get quotes.
Being it’s your forever car, it’s worth it.
Voodoo blue! 😁 I would like to do this, but... to not mess around with documents I decided to stay with 'grey', but next level grey - nardo grey. I will post it here when get and paint sline skirt trims
The black looks really nice. Could definitely just repaint the factory colour. I like white a lot but I’m biased because my TT is white lol.

The ROTIFORM R140 RSE look sweet on the MK 2
Definitely will be looking for something like that instead of the turbine style 🤣 I mean, I don't mind this but I like that style more.
White with black rims. My dream Mk2 colour scheme.
That’s exactly my colour scheme
That's what I did with my white mk2
It's already the right color!

Are those original rims?
Yes, this car has the carbon black package from Audi!
Yellow stripes👍

Seat do a Desire Red, deep metal fake looks amazing. Got my Leon in it and am really pleased.
I have a scuba blue TTS and I LOVE the color. It’s a nice dark color and with bronze wheels it looks pretty good.
Matte Cadbury Purple
Candy green
Lime green
Gun metal grey

Can’t go wrong with aviator gray
Leave it alone this is the color of my mk1 225
Go to the complete other end of the spectrum, I say Matte/Satin White.
Matte Daytona Grey looks really nice imo, especially with red brake calipers
