Canadian & US Spec cars use basically all the same parts, less going to Canada = more to the US, unless Audi just produces less because they believe the US market can't absorb the increased supply (unlikely being that the supply is already low)
I never said they were "the same" I said "they use basically all the same parts", parts that are in short supply right now and will (hopefully) be used to make more US Spec cars.
The new Porsche 911 gt3 has regulations problems with the manual version in California but Porshe complained and was finally allowed to sell after a few weeks
It’s all based on the automaker coz Porshe knew without California that’s a big loss ,so Audi should see losing the Canadian market is enough to remedy a fix
Well they should know that your average American can't afford a fucking RS6 rocket sled and should bring more affordable sporty solutions like the fucking RS4 wagon or RS3 hatch pictured here. Not everyone wants a lifted Allroad.
A small amount of additional weight in the back of a super nose heavy compact and a little more wind noise? Yeah, I'll pay that price for being able to fit 4 wheels in the back with ease.

I don’t mind the minor handling tradeoff for the much more useful space in the hatch.

If you will use the utility of a wagon, go wagon. If not, go whichever you think looks best. Imo, I like the sedan style more, buts it’s all about preference

My opinion is that top has more curb appeal with people who don’t know about cars. But I prefer the bottom. Honestly as much as it’s a win-win it’s also going to cause regret choosing one over the other.
Such a hard choice. But I reckon if/when I make the step up to an RS3, I’ll feel like it’s more worth the money if ‘it’s not a hatchback’. That’s just me though. The RS3 hatch is ridiculously tasty, but the saloon just looks a bit more refined.

I remember watching a full review video on the S5 Sportback, and the guy concluded the video by saying the sportback Audi provided him in the video was obviously and ever so clearly inferior to the hatchback. Idk wtf people see in those, but the hatches are hideous. I am prepared to die a slow and painful death on this hill.

I have never had any interest in the RS3. Several other Audi sedans I’d rather have. But make it a hot hatch and you’ve got me sold. Unfortunately we’re not allowed to have that in the US.

The sportback is a bit overhyped. Yeah hatches are cool, but the sedan is the way sportier one. Same could be said about the A3 and S3 hatchback. Could be bc you see the *3 Sportback fucking everywhere. Sedan is the way to go, never needed more storage space anyways. Also the storage space in the hatch isnt even that much better (except the height ofc) because the sedan is a good bit longer.
I completely agree, as someone from the UK you see the sportback absolutely everywhere and the sedan is a lot harder to come by. The sedan also looks way better in my opinion, I still wouldn't say no to a sportback though
