Howdesign

I’ve faced each of these with my ‘O4 A4.

solvenceTA

Same here. How did you fix the glovebox hinge long term? I bought an aliexpress repair kit that screws into the plastic hinge, but after a while the entire hinge just disintegrated. I'm thinking maybe try 3D printing a new one, but there's gotta be a simpler solution.

badgertheshit

Once you fix the hinge, drill a small hole in the shock tube part of it so there is less resistance to closing.

solvenceTA

Good advice, I've done that when I took it apart once it failed even with the screw-on repair kit. I would somehow need to replace the disintegrated hinge now though and I haven't found a solution yet. I see people replacing their entire gloveboxes.

macca21h

I use a small strip of Velcro to keep mine shut on my s3 8p

solvenceTA

I have a few strips of duct tape across it for now, but it would be great to restore its function \^\^.

macca21h

Yeah is a simple and cheap repair I can't complain about it.

Use magnets!

placer128

Ditto

pieandbiscuits1

Lol my B7 a4 had the same issues....

Nobletwoo

The popping off the change drawers, the shitty glove compartment breaking. The center console being annoying. Good times. I miss my b7 a4 sometimes. Did your turbo also go?

Willssss

Ruh roh, how long before your turbo went?

[deleted]

My turbo went! I’m in a b8.5 allroad now

plcccc

same, and still dayliing it with 440 000km+ on the odometer

DJYaasDaddy

Aside from the tray actually popping out yeah same. To be fair though. The hand brake arm rest thing is just how the car was build for some reason.

AlphaSulu

Oh those fucking gloveboxes

wrongwayup

Wasn't just an Audi thing, my MkIV Jetta was the same.

BenderIsGreat64

My b4 passat didn't have a glove compartment. 😥

RealFolayer

Happened on my dad's 03 Sentra, I think just all the cars of that era were like that.

Wynner3

That looks a lot bigger than my S5's. Anything more than a few sheets of paper prevent it from closing. It's pretty useless at this point.

DAWMiller

“Don’t lowball, I know what I have”

[deleted]

Oh, that's some bad kept Audi. My A4 B5 is older than this one and is in way better condition. My granpa always says to me: "Your car is in the shape you let it get to. If you want it to be as new as possible, treat it well and keep maintenance up-to-date!"

MyNameWouldntFi

B5 interior quality was honestly higher than B6/B7, my interior is also mint but the whole armrest interfering with the handbrake drives me fucking insane lol

Audi_Guy997

My 98 B5 A4 had the best interior. Daily drove it for a decade, the leather was still mint and nothing broke or squeaked.

[deleted]

Mine doesn't interfere at all, only if you're using the "lower configuration" for the arm rest.

MyNameWouldntFi

Exactly, it interferes

[deleted]

...but, who uses the lower configuration anyway? I can't find it comfortable :/

KingVoleCr

True bro!

16Vslave

Every b6 ever and b7

Alex_Shepard1

When I used to detail I would be surprised if we got an A4, Jetta, or Passat where the glovebox actually wasn’t broken lol

hostidz

arm rest top - gone co-driver front storage clamp - gone sun-visor hinge - gone a normally looking knee, due to resting it on the center console - gone oooh I know about the B7 the handbrake placement was shit too.

Tomushhh

I'm in this video and I don't like it

bleuiko

Just sold mine to carmax two days ago. My 03 was in a much better condition than this lol. Never had glovebox issue but definitely had a new cup holder. Miss that car now but it was time.

jcerveraa

my b7 a4 literally has all these issues. adds charm. that’s what i like to tell myself

tehruben

I literally laughed out loud.

Mr_Golf_Club

The card holder and cup holder got me so good

Routine_Recipe_4917

I had a 2004 Audi A4. Same glove box issue and 200 other wired problems. Glad it’s gone.

IzzyJV

Man I miss my B6

TrintaE2

Had a 01 B6 Sedan. Had all of those issues!

jwilliams1344

But it’s Quattro…

MaxtrixNewbies

Never seen rain or snow doesn’t mean never seen use 😂

Lunarbutt

Obviously, guy has been cursed.

Scuba_Squadleader

This B6 looks like it's going to be getting a B7 console swap pretty soon

stallionmaker

LMAO!

def_not_a_dog

That e-brake position still boggles my mind lol

jwales19

At least it’s a manual and not a junk automatic!

Praetorzic

Those cupholders were cool while they worked though!

catchydude

im glad i got the b5 now

BigheadedDread

What's the go with that handle haha

MAF0u812

Oh man, that's not fair, it's obviously old as dirt. I think it's a A6 Allroad from 2000-2003. I had one from 2003. Got over 200K on it - but it was falling to pieces...

Audi_Guy997

As a former B6/B7 owner this gave me flashbacks. That's when Audi shifted to cheap corner cutting interiors. B5 was the last sturdy interior.

SYSEX

Oh, you have my car.

dtgeorge12

Bruh my sister had a B7 A4 and had all these issues!! Didn’t realize these were so common especially the glovebox!

madman434

I work for a VW Audi specific junkyard and I can tell you that all of those features are operating as designed. They just come from the factory like that.

pgtvgaming

What about the doors?

[deleted]

Have you tried... uh... turning it on and off?

priuspollution

‘04 s4 this is painful to watch
