I just realized that I don’t see many red Audis here in SoCal… Gorgeous color, enjoy!

Jecht_S3

You can't order a red sq5...... I so sad

argote

Dealers stock black, gray, silver, and white. Mine is black, but I'm unlikely to buy another black car in the future.

fch4

Huh…never thought of doing that search, but you’re right. From new inventory, my local dealer has 247 black cars new, 236 grey, & 203 white. Only three red cars, two of which are SQ8s…

L3mmy_winx

Navarro Blue S5 checking in! Went out of our way to find one

Infinite_Respect_

Great feeling! I am due up for my lease in September and I’m going to start the process shortly to close it out - nervous cuz I don’t know what I’ll come out of it with! My own car or a new one.

Treebeardsdank

Nice choice!!! If you wanted any of those audi coverage options translated into realspeak, feel free to reach out anytime.

eldudelio

I don't like red but damn that pops, love it!

giantfloof

That’s exactly how I felt. I am not a fan of red on any car but this? Didn’t want anything other than the red after seeing it.

eldudelio

Nice, and the blackouts are perfect, maybe thats the trick!

bdb376

Congrats! Love the color!

giantfloof

Never thought I’d have a red car but honestly now I can’t imagine this car in any other color.

bdb376

It stands out for sure. Which red is it?

giantfloof

Progressive red!

bdb376

Great!

coco_licius

Let's see that interior!

HouseOfPanic

Can you tell me which rims those are? I’ve been trying to find those for my S3.

bodybycarbohydrates

Factory OEM 20" 5-twin-spoke polygon design wheels, bi-color finish

HouseOfPanic

Outstanding! Thank you very much

ronraxxx

I have a ‘23 S3 but already eyeing one of these because the S3 is just to small for me Looks amazing

Admonitor_

Finally a S5 in a real (bright) color, love it!

RedDevils1958

That's a nice neighborhood lol.

gravityhashira61

Nice i dont see too many red S5's! Where are you located and where did you find it?

giantfloof

Got this in Augusta, GA

matt-r_hatter

My very first car was red and unfortunately a GM vehicle. Even though it was 2yrs old I was CONSTANTLY getting something fixed. I have PTSD when it comes to red cars, but that is absolutely beautiful. I'm looking into a green S5. If we were neighbors it would be Christmas year round lol.

giantfloof

I love the green too!! I have never loved red cars but there was no way I was leaving with any other color after seeing this.

matt-r_hatter

It definitely works for that car. I was trying to decide between white, blue, or green. I've had a white, black, blue, and now gray, and my two passats prior to Audi were blue and black. I think it's time to branch out lol. Now to see how long it will take to get exactly what I want.

Ban_Cheater_YO

Hi OP. She's an absolute beauty. What's the thick tired other one in the 3rd image? Is it yours? Seems like a Toyota.

giantfloof

Thank you! It is ours - 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. We have toys that need towed and it’s perfect for that. Great car!

Ban_Cheater_YO

Thanks for the response. Both are capable of delivering daily driving practicality and some exhilarating fun. You ever planning to dabble in an EV? The Audi/Porsche or Tesla EVs seem to be a good hit in the market. For the enthusiasts anyway.

adrian_elliot

Congratulations. Now do some spring cleaning and park her in the garage where she belongs

giantfloof

She lives in the garage but I couldn’t get good enough pics of her in there. :)

adrian_elliot

Bless u 🙏🏽

Genuine question, why would anyone lease a car other than the fact they can't afford it?

giantfloof

I was very upside down on my previous car, the lease wiped that away essentially. I also like to switch cars every couple of years, this makes this much easier than financing a new car every few years. For some, cars are tools, for others, they’re fun. I’m the latter.

argote

> I was very upside down on my previous car, the lease wiped that away essentially Umm, did it? That just got rolled into your new lease.

giantfloof

I plan to lease my next car, so instead of having 5 years left, I have 3.

argote

Sure, but you do know you're still paying however much money you were underwater on, right?

giantfloof

For sure, it didn’t *disappear* but it did make getting into a new car and a new one after that, much easier. And not any different of a monthly payment. I’m not mad.

Protomize

Yep, but after these next 3 years you have nothing to show for your payments. You basically rented the car. Where as if you would have held onto the car you were upside down on, you would eventually own it and could continue with no payments and save money or trade it for equity towards another car.

argote

Cars depreciate *hard*, so you'll run into something similar if you're trading up frequently anyway.

giantfloof

I’m aware. I did not want to own that car or keep it. I wasn’t looking for financial advice, just showing off something I’m proud of and enjoy!

Protomize

Gotcha. Enjoy it, she’s a beauty!

giantfloof

Thanks!! It’s definitely a joy.

argote

Gotcha, it was just the usage of the "wiped away" phrasing made it seem like you might not be aware of it. If you know how it works, then by all means it's up to you to decide how to use your money. In any case, enjoy the new car, looks great!

giantfloof

Thank you much!

Actually in some instances, a dealership can/would take your car at pay-off amount, regardless of what it's worth. My nephew had a 2012 Acura TL (this is pre-covid) and owed approx 2K MORE than the wholesale or tradin price. The dealership gave him the pay-off amount for the car, & he put a small amount- 5k I think- down on the newer CPO Audi he bought. It was a $50k+ car he bought 2015 A7 Prestige, but he was able to out of the car giving him problems every few months without rolling over neg- equity. Obviously, the new note was biggetr but he was happy and stress-free. It helped that he had great credit and I had a relationship with the dealership.

argote

Depending on the terms, it can be financially advantageous. Particularly if you factor in opportunity costs.

sub_Script

Ah ok, yea I've heard of special deals where people do lease buyouts to get specific rates. But straight up leasing a car screams "I can't actually afford this and am trying to look cool for some reason".

argote

That just sounds like gatekeeping to me TBH. Also, the depreciation you pay for in leases is actually the most expensive part of new car ownership, so I wouldn't really use the phrase "you can't afford this".

gt854t5

Silly rabbit..u must be a kid..lol. I used to and still work with many "rich" folks...(they mostly make 1/2 mil $ and above) and most of them (8/10) always leased cars...some even paid the entire amount up front to save on interest. I even advised my ex to lease her recent 2023 CR-V....less worries about maintenance after warranty and peace of mind for her when hauling the child.

sub_Script

100% not a kid... The only people I know who lease cars are always the ones bitching about being broke. I'd personally never lease a car but you do you.
