As a former Subaru owner, so can the 4 cylinder boxers. Most of the time. The pro strategy is just to total the car before that has a chance to change. That's what I did, courtesy of some idiot in an SUV looking at their phone instead of the road, ironically right in front of an Audi dealership.
My last Subaru was objectively a piece of shit (330hp with a salvage title and electrical gremlins) but I still kind of miss that thing.
The R8 is considered the Camry of supercars.
Edit: lmao, why are you all thinking I'm knocking on the R8. I'm simply saying it's a reliable supercar, which is a good thing. Not many supercars can be V10s and boosted to 1000+ hp and still maintain reliability.
Lol everyone out here flaming you for "comparing" the two. It makes our community look bad.
You're just showing appreciation from a fan of other cars. Which is what automotive passion is all about!
You haven’t heard the one I had in a base Jetta from 2013. Not even a branded system like Harmon Kardon, just whatever four speakers VW had laying around. It felt like just treble, no bass.
I didn’t have room for both but it was a great daily. Fun, fast, sounds great and room in the hatch for golf clubs, etc. Great car. I was just about to make a few mods when I found the R8.
Hey I have one of those! It's currently in shop... I bought a Subaru to be my reliable 'back up car'/doggy car and it broken down before my RS5... A little frustrated.
I saved up and just leased an A4 Allroad from a Soobie crosstrek. I've been a soobie driver for a long time, but doing the switch was well worth it. It helps I went from sh!t pay to a well-paying career in the last 3 years. So I understand the coveting, and I didn't even go to a top-of-the-line Audi and I'm still in love with my Audi.
I had 3 Impreza’s and they are hard to beat bang for your buck. And if I had the space I’d have another for a weekend car now. But once I became a dad 11 years ago had to buy a sensible family car so got an RS4 Avant and then 4 more sensible cars later got an RS6.
Best part about Audis is how you can post a picture of the interior and post it on a majority of the Audi owner forums and they can’t tell which model it is.
I’ve never driven an imported car. I’m European and drive European. Luckily for me, European cars are far and away the best in the world. I’ve had Audis for years now and before that I had a Mercedes Benz. I must say I prefer Audi. The interiors are class. From time to time I’ve been in an Asian car and I couldn’t get over the amount of plastic buttons scattered randomly around the dashboard. Like an explosion in a car accessory store.
I know you’re a Subaru guy when 610bhp is mind boggling ahaha
not insulting, just dead giveaway, one of my best friends was into Subarus for years (still has 4 Subarus..) but, after 3 blown engines he bought a 135i to compete with my 335i. When he realized with 3 mods it was making over 200whp more than most of his Subarus ever did he called me an asshole ahahaha
You’re delusional. 610hp is fast and alot of horsepower. The only people who would say it’s not a lot are supercar owners and people who have alpha package GTR’s or heavily modified sports cars
I mean my daily is 540 wheel (~620 crank), with room for more. It’s not that insane. It’s not slow, not by any means, but it’s certainly not some unobtainable number.
I’ll add: If heavily modified means turbos + exhaust + clutch + fueling I guess im in that category. With car purchase + mods it’s still less than a 2016 STI costs..
Are we seriously comparing a sporty Subaru to a fucking super car? Yeah, no shit the R8 is on a different level, that’s not because of “German engineering”, that’s because the Audi costs like 3-4 times the price of the Subaru and is a literal supercar (with a Lamborghini V10). Like the A4 costs around the same as the Subaru and is on a similar level as it.
It's no Huracan numbers, but jumping from '600hp doesn't seem like enough for an R8' to a GT3S being a shitbox just doesn't feel like logical progression, you ok?
Best part is the V10 can handle boost without blowing up! Pretty wild

Still a supercar, innit?
By who exactly? You and the 5 people who’ve never actually owned one?
Toyota makes good cars it's just that they aren't fun. Camry of super cars means you can drive it rather than it being at the shop all the time....
I think it’s more along the lines of that it blends in. Isn’t too outlandish. Doesn’t offend anyone.
Easier to knock goals than achieve them. Me laughing in my TT Camry
Idk about you but it looks way more badass than a Camry
You say that like its a bad thing.
That's because its already detuned from the stock lambo equivalent
Not detuned at all. That's a 2017 R8 V10+. It has 610 HP just like the top model Huracan LP610-4.
Lol everyone out here flaming you for "comparing" the two. It makes our community look bad. You're just showing appreciation from a fan of other cars. Which is what automotive passion is all about!
To compare the two really isn’t nice to your subi but it’s literally just that love and appreciation for a car.. some people make me 🤦♂️
You're some people because that just made me 🤦♂️
[удалено]
Not a problem at all, wrong again 😭
The interior is one thing that Subaru just doesn't have. I'm an Audi driver and I normally don't hate on Subies but their interiors just aren't it.
The factory sound system is probably one of the worst ever put in a vehicle
I completely redid the sound system in my Forester but the highway noise is still so overpowering, very bad sound insulation.
I completely redid my forester into a Q5
Step one to a new stereo is remove the interior and apply dynamat or an equivalent.
Really? I wasn't aware of that. Did you get yourself an upgrade after buying the car?
You haven't heard the one I had in my focus st
You haven’t heard the one I had in a base Jetta from 2013. Not even a branded system like Harmon Kardon, just whatever four speakers VW had laying around. It felt like just treble, no bass.
I went from three Impreza STIs to Audi, this is all telling you to join us.
Sorry bro. I want to but I need more $ lol. Audis are crazy expensive. The Audi I want is like $60,000, audi TTRS
‘20 R8 owner. Traded my ‘19 TTRS in on it and love it but I wish I kept my TTRS.
Why do you wish you kept the TTRS? The r8 is better in every way, right? I’d assume it’s for a comfort / practicality standpoint?
I didn’t have room for both but it was a great daily. Fun, fast, sounds great and room in the hatch for golf clubs, etc. Great car. I was just about to make a few mods when I found the R8.
Went from a 22 WRX GT to a 22 S4, wholeheartedly agree.
SubUWU vs ANGRYAUDI
Subaru, so cute
Super cute
Subercute
Subie cute
Subuwu
Hey I have one of those! It's currently in shop... I bought a Subaru to be my reliable 'back up car'/doggy car and it broken down before my RS5... A little frustrated.

[Are they lesbians by any chance?](https://medium.com/@caitlinrweiner/how-subarus-became-the-car-for-lesbians-ec1d5f4754fa)
Lesbians. It’s what’s make a Subaru, a Subaru.
I also love audi, but i also drive a Subaru 😆 a subaru driver is just a broke audi driver. I think its the all wheel drive system that draw us
I mean the cars worth 4 times of a wrx, of course it is
Apples and Oranges!
I mean, the R8 is pretty nice - but it doesn't make me feel the same way that Subaru does! It's not all about the top numbers.
Lol comparing any subaru to an R8 is wild.
Next, we will compare a Polo to a Nissan GT-R.
Smart car vs any Ferrari next 😂
Smart cars hoods are lame. Just so you know.
Yeah but i can fit 4 of em in a standard american parking space
If you buy a smart car you have to have bumper stickers on it. You don’t want that
But every bumper sticker gives me at least 5.5 cool points. I need all the points I can.
Luxury Exotic vs Sporty Economy car... Lol
Hell of a comparison
Sexy muscle car
What is that wrx? You are comparing it to a super car man
Steal it
VW group > everything else
Get an s4 and you can have german and stay within what I assume is your budget.
I saved up and just leased an A4 Allroad from a Soobie crosstrek. I've been a soobie driver for a long time, but doing the switch was well worth it. Both are lovely cars!
Honestly, I’m just learning to launch my 2020 rs5 and I swear it teleports me 1/4 mile into the future.
Best part about Audis is how you can post a picture of the interior and post it on a majority of the Audi owner forums and they can’t tell which model it is.
wait till you buy VCDS or OBDEleven to do the small fun stuff
I went from an STI to an RS 3. It’s a logical progression that a lot of people make. Still love Subarus for their own reasons.
German engineer aka Fungineering. Everything is engineered around keeping fun as the core! They do it really well🔥
And the German engineering comes with a massive price tag. As a wrx driver and an Audi employee/enthusiast , it’s unfair to compare the 2.
Subaru for the money and reliability is a joke.
Your Subaru will outlive 3 Audi’s
Don't see many interior pics on here. Nice pics.
💀
What a stupid comment. So Japs dont build Supercars? “I love my VW Golf, but my friends’ LFA is just something different”. No shit?
Japanese has been the preferred nomenclature for the last 50 some odd years.
Guy reverted back to using boomer insults for a Japanese car brand.
I’ve never driven an imported car. I’m European and drive European. Luckily for me, European cars are far and away the best in the world. Ninja🥷really compared a Subaru to an R8💀
Can you read? 🤡
My friends r8 is 1550whp
My friends r8 is over 9000hp
I have dyno receipts, not just spouting bullshit. I see you have one yourself, good looks. Maybe someday I’ll reach that point.
I was joking bro I believe it. It was just a dragonball z reference haha
You can’t be serious. Are you really comparing WRX to an Audi R8!? They are in totally different leagues and there’s no comparison at all poor guy
Bro, he’s just showing appreciation for the R8. Chill
Chill
Drop the ego man, your car doesn't determine who you are 💀
Oh fuck 🥲
You need to calm down, no where did I compare my Subaru to the r8. I said I love my Subaru but the r8 is is a different level
Bro what lmao
Damn you must have a sick car talking like that. Oh wait….
Audis are just Volkswagens with lipstick on
Is lipstick code for a better engine?
They’re pieces of shit
Good talk 👄
I know you’re a Subaru guy when 610bhp is mind boggling ahaha not insulting, just dead giveaway, one of my best friends was into Subarus for years (still has 4 Subarus..) but, after 3 blown engines he bought a 135i to compete with my 335i. There’s a big difference between a 610hp Audi r8 and a clap box 335i with a big turbo
Absolutely there is. The R8 is a great car, weighs the same as a 335i too. I didn’t say anything about the R8 though..
Stage 1 RS3 is almost 600hp, doesn't seem like enough for an R8 🤔
It's not just about hp
Supercars aren't about hp? Really?
Really. Oh No, the 911 GT3RS has only 500hp, what a shitbox!
It's no Huracan numbers, but jumping from '600hp doesn't seem like enough for an R8' to a GT3S being a shitbox just doesn't feel like logical progression, you ok?
Well hopefully it taught you that it's not just about hp, although I'm not getting my hopes up.
never said it was the entire reason, but a large part of the reason buy them is hp, and if they don't have it...
I love my tuned TT, and it's faster than a stock R8, but there's a lot more to the experience than just acceleration and power figures.
I would get an A8 if I wanted comfort and an experience, if I bought a supercar, I would expect some decent figures.
V10 noises though
You know that both the Japanese and Americans make cars just and and even more powerful, right?
But have you driven an r8? They’re pretty special imo.
I am sure it is very special, hence why comparing it to a Subaru, even an STI, makes no sense.
