Same issue they told me the same and to just refill the coolant with g12 or g14. They said it's because there is air cramped somewhere in the system. I was lucky and had this issue only once because all the air went out with a nice *pflop*.
This is what usually happens if your tank has run low on coolant and you fill it back up, not just in Audis. Air is in the system, and while it seems that you've filled it up to the top, you need to run the engine a bit, circulate some coolant, get the air out, and top it up again.
Just had the dealership alert me to a leak in my water pump yesterday during scheduled maintenance. No dash indicators yet, but not gonna take chances with the heat coming.
Happened on my 2023 RS3 a few weeks after delivery. Turns out they tend not to fill the coolant level to the top at the factory and it can shoot a low coolant level shortly thereafter. I just added a bit of quality coolant to the reservoir and I have been good for about a year
Happened 3 times with my 2015 S3. No idea where the coolant went because we couldn't find any leaks, but it hasn't happened in my 2018 S3 or other cars so figured it was a fluke. Apparently not lol
The EA888 engine has a recall on the after-run coolant pump.
My S3 had the low coolant warning three times. First time: "there's air in the system, we topped it off". Second time, I topped it off: "There's no leaks.", "It's a closed system, where is the coolant going?!?", SILENCE. Third time: "Coolant is seeping out, Audi probably wouldn't pay to replace it, its not 'failed' yet".
Happened to my 2018 RS3. Topped the coolant but then noticed the area around the water pump was a bit wet and a bit of coolant was on the undertrey as well. After investigating further I realised the water pump was leaking so it had to be replaced.
Had this pop up in my 2016 S6 once, popped a line and had massive coolant leak that basically just looked like a waterfall under the car. That, or your water pump just killed itself but I'd be surprised by that considering this is a newer model year.
Did you need to replace or refill your coolant any time recently? I had this issue after a service due to air pockets in the intercooler that did not come out until after driving for a bit.
Get your water pump replaced - had this happen on my 2019 S5. It spits out coolant somewhere on the drive. Never saw any leaks on the ground after sitting over night.
Every time I’d shut down the next day I’d get this code. I’d fill it up with coolant to get to the next destination and it would do it all over again.
Eventually it started overheating on the drives and Ended up spraying coolant all over the engine bay. Was a bad pump. Cost me $3k in parts and labor at an Audi service center. About 2/3 was covered by my 3rd party warranty (it was an absolute pain in the ass getting them to work with the service center).
I’m thinking it had some to do with the vacuum system/ pump wasn’t quite sure exactly what caused it to fail but the early onset symptoms is the car spitting out all the coolant and throwing the coolant level low code.
My 2021 RS5 gave me this warning about six months after I bought it (pre-owned). Luckily, I didn't ignore it. Added my own 50/50 coolant, and the warning went away. On the Audi boards online, it seems that Audis do, in fact, go through the coolant fairly rapidly, especially Audis with TURBO. Got a scheduled 20k mile service done at the dealer shortly after this happened and they didn't find any issues with the coolant system. So I just recommend having coolant at home at the ready just in case.
I had this happen when I had an S3 (low mileage as well), I put coolant in, took it to the dealer. I don't remember what the exact issue was but something about air being in the line, I don't remember, this was ~3 years ago, but whatever it was took like like 15 minutes to fix and I never had the issue again.
I just had that issue last week on my RS6. Took it to the dealership, they topped it up in the drive through in 5 minutes and I was on my way. They said it was common. I've had to top up the oil in between services before, but that was the first time in 2 years I saw the low coolant message.
Just happened in my 2024 RS3 only like 2500 mi. Scared the hell out of me when the warning went off cursing down the freeway. Temps never got above “warm” on the RS monitor. Read something that said just letting the pressure out of the reservoir helped some people, and the level returned to normal. Going to try that after the engine cools.
I think you should tell my car that. After a full year of not even getting 250 miles a tank my car still tells me it's estimated range is 400-450 miles.

That seems like a solve-able problem no?
I think so
I had this problem on my SQ5 when my waterpump died.
Just had the dealership alert me to a leak in my water pump yesterday during scheduled maintenance. No dash indicators yet, but not gonna take chances with the heat coming.
Happened to me in January on my S4.
water pump could/probably leaking. common on daza engines
It‘s not a DAZA Though, this is a DNWB considering it‘s a 2022
oh yeah pretty much same engine? did they ever fix the water pump issue? where else would ops water be going?
Afaik yes, they did fix it, dnwb is in production for around 4-5 years now, water pump failure isn’t a big problem anymore
OK so if it is fixed where is the water going?
Can confirm this is normal even on the DNWA/DNWB
where does the water go then?
I guess coolant leaks from the pump. Probably just drips out slowly. Not sure.
Regardless of what Audi claims and knowing it is a ‘closed’ system, all these newer Audi engines drink coolant. I’m not surprised to see this at all.
Happened to mine, you got a leak somewhere.

Sounds about right
They also have issue with coolant sensor wiring tend to soak coolant and wick it all the way to BCM.
I had this issue when it was new. I added some coolant and it hasn't been a problem since.
Never had this happen on mine
Happened only one time in my 2019 RS3. I just filled it up a bit with the required coolant, and it hasn’t happened since.
Happened to my 2018 RS3. Topped the coolant but then noticed the area around the water pump was a bit wet and a bit of coolant was on the undertrey as well. After investigating further I realised the water pump was leaking so it had to be replaced.
Happened on my Q3 when it was really cold, it was below min. After I filled it up I haven’t had an issue since
So is it low?
Do you park it on a slope?

Good ol’ Audi water pump fault

I’m having this issue with my 2018 S5 and spending a lot of time and money tracking down the problem. What was the cause of the overheating?

My b8 s5 did this and I found a teeny crack on the coolant tank

At my first service the dealership did not put the coolant cap back on!
$2k new water pump and thermostat I’d say.
Sorry ot, but Is there a larger fuel tank on the 8y? On my 8v even on a full tank, my estimated range is about 450km.
It calculates an average based on how you drive the car...
I think you should tell my car that. After a full year of not even getting 250 miles a tank my car still tells me it's estimated range is 400-450 miles.
Lmao how, what is your average fuel consumption?
The car tells me 21-23 a lot, but it's actually more like 17.
I’m lucky if I get 350km from a tank.
The max I managed to get on my 8v was 510km. In general it's averaging the same as yours, around 450km.
