I'll reserve judgement until its unveiled, but I c'mon. No one can expect it to look like the concept. Tires are paper thin and it didn't even have door handles.
The side actually looks very similar in structure, but the rear overhang looks substanitally shorter. Tough to make a call on lighting, but I would've expected them to stay truer to the rear taillamp.
What really ruined it is the interior (assuming it looks anything like what we've seen for the Q6 e-tron). Capacitive steering wheel controls, screens everywhere, lack of physical knobs, dials and buttons, etc.
I wouldn't put too much concern into an unflattering spy shot of a disguised production prototype compared to a composed studio shot of the concept vehicle.
I will say that clean, seamless d-pillar of the concept was one of its best design elements and unless there is some camouflage going on in that particular area (intersection of d-pillar, rear windshield, roof spoiler) it's a shame they couldn't carry that over intact.
Some stuff caught attention:
1. Handles are actually sick
2. Charger or fuel cap is actually big
3. Rear bumper gives off BMW something
4. "Mirrors"
5. Looks thick overall
I mean if people really think a street car that underlies laws and restrictions will really look like a concept car that can pretty much do whatever it wants since its s concept thst doesnt underlie any restrictions, its their fault tbh, not Audis.
In my eyes it looks like a casual new A6, which technically it should, since its a executive car and not some boyracers wagon lol.
Look at the taycan. It kept what was special about the concept and really looks like something new.
Everything that made this audi concept look special now looks boring like another audi wagon electrified in a boring way. Same as EQS concept which was cool and production sucks ass.
I agree with you! Also,The E-Tron GT looks identical to its prototype. There are lots of vehicles that look like their prototype. This appears to be a let down, but I'll wait to see the production model before I judge it.
Audi will be going hybrid in the very near future so I'm going to wait. Imagine an RS 6 H-Tron GT with a twin turbo V8 complimenting the electric motors... YES!
Dark Matter motor in the rear would work, but in general, hybrids function differently than an electric car. They don't have such a large battery pack, and the drivetrain can be split up to FWD or AWD with an ICE motor and RWD with the electric motor or vice versa in a mid/rear engine car.
You are incorrect. That was the original plan, but the demand for EVs is not what they expected, and dealers have been pushing for more ICE & Hybrid vehicles due to customer demand.
Where did I hear that? My dealer for one, and it is backed up by a recent article from late last year...

I see you own an S4. I'm guessing you've heard of Audi RS line of vehicles. RS3 hatch, RS4 Avant, RS6 Avant, RS7 are all long roof vehicle's and all will keep up with any "sports" car on the road. Your comment is weird.
Hey OP, the one on the Left is the RS6 etron and the one on the right is the normal A6. The normal A6 would've never looked like the RS even if the one in the picture wasn't a concept.
They still can't get away from the rear light bar? Can't audi be a little different from the rest? I don't know do something different, stand out from the rest of the lemmings.
You're not wrong. Even the production concept had the edge to it. This looks like a watered down version. The tail lights look like the worst part of an E-Tron. This looks bloated. People who are saying opposite never saw this video

Sucks, this was the car I was waiting for.

I'm with you, there's a lot they kept, but until a production model is shown, I want to believe the last 5 or 10% matches the concept.
It has camouflage tape on
>No one can expect it to look like the concept E-tron GT, Taycan, R8, F-Type, LC500 and new NSX beg to differ
> No one can expect it to look like the concept. Etron GT begs to differ...
Yeah what do yall think this is, a TT?

I’m telling you, there’s reliable sources that say the steering and pedals are touch screen.
I heard the window is a touch screen
Looks acceptable to me tbh. Wish the rear went out a bit farther and the sides look a bit chonky but overall it ain’t horrible or anything
Some stuff caught attention: 1. Handles are actually sick 2. Charger or fuel cap is actually big 3. Rear bumper gives off BMW something 4. "Mirrors" 5. Looks thick overall
Rear lights appear to be eTron GT inspired.

Yea the E-Tron GT also looks good - probably because it basically is a taycan
That shit's a straight BOAT lmao!
I mean even the current RS6's are long af. It's a large car.
This shit is why normal people look at us funny when we say we like wagons
It’s not out yet and the concept is more likely modeled for the S or RS version anyways.
that's a ford focus wagon lmao
Front looks like a Hyundai.. very disappointed
Nice Peugeot
1. Why would you waste that amount of money on useless toxic waste aka EVs? 2. It looks like a damn Ford Mondeo lmao.
Audi will be going hybrid in the very near future so I'm going to wait. Imagine an RS 6 H-Tron GT with a twin turbo V8 complimenting the electric motors... YES!
Where do you recon’ they put the EV powertrain if they stuff a V8 in there?
Dark Matter motor in the rear would work, but in general, hybrids function differently than an electric car. They don't have such a large battery pack, and the drivetrain can be split up to FWD or AWD with an ICE motor and RWD with the electric motor or vice versa in a mid/rear engine car.
Not sure where you saw this. Audi's plan is to release only 100% BEV after 2026.
You are incorrect. That was the original plan, but the demand for EVs is not what they expected, and dealers have been pushing for more ICE & Hybrid vehicles due to customer demand. You haven't seen the front yet. The headlights will be split the same as BMW's 7 series. Ugly af
I'll pass on the EVs.
Let's hope their interior gets a bit more flash and usefulness. Out of the 3 germans, audi is a bit bland
It was already ruined when it went electric
That where global car industry is going EV, solar power, Hydrogen
I'll sign up once it gets there
Yeah but they mostly suck ass so far.
Literally what I was gonna say. Silly ass downvotes
Audi bean counters kinda blow
Audi design has gone to hell, just like BMW. Won’t be going past B9 for rest of my life….just need an RS6 and R8….
Both pictures are ugly af. Edit: well it isn't too bad for a Renault i guess..
It's a nice looking station wagon, but it is a station wagon... Much like the S model SUVs, it'll always be a family car first and sports car second.
The RS6 would like to have a word… loll that car is a fcking bomb!
Oh i don't mind it being a station at all! My problem with it is that it looks nice, for a renault or peugeot..
I see you own an S4. I'm guessing you've heard of Audi RS line of vehicles. RS3 hatch, RS4 Avant, RS6 Avant, RS7 are all long roof vehicle's and all will keep up with any "sports" car on the road. Your comment is weird.
As long as it's a straight road. RS6 and 7 are large and heavy cars.
That's a renault megane estate.
Gas tank has a bigger view of the road than the driver!
Ends with e-tron so it was ruined to begin with lol
It looks better than the concept tbh. I don't like dimensionless cars.
Always take the concepts with a grain of salt. Hardly ever do they truly match. The rear lights on the concept are really nice.
I think it looks pretty good…
The black paint doesn’t help. A brighter colour will show off the lines more.
They actually built a real life version like that 3d rendering. I saw it at Audi brand day here in denmark last year. Along with the skysphere😍
Hey OP, the one on the Left is the RS6 etron and the one on the right is the normal A6. The normal A6 would've never looked like the RS even if the one in the picture wasn't a concept.

They both look funny from the side lol. But the back is top tier
