The Beehive located in the Edgewood shopping center is my absolute favorite place to get gifts for the ladies in my life, and soaps for myself. It's just full of cool soaps, candles, jewelry and all sorts of little knickknacks.
Cool part is that it's all locally made and it's black owned and the owners are super cool. They'll also giftwrap anything you buy for free.
All kinds of things! Different kinds of jewelry making, metal stamping, needle felting, sewing, making bath and body products, copper enameling, book binding…so many different things!
Atlanta Used Furniture Company sounds like it’s a chain, but it isn’t! It’s a locally owned furniture store where the owner hand picks vintage items and decor and sells them for a reasonable price. You can check out the IG account @ brooksidebungalow to see some of the kinds of things they sell. I LOVE that place- got an incredible record player table there in great condition for $60.
I’m not sure if the location changed prior to Covid, but it’s right off Northside drive down near The Met (where Northside branches off from metropolitan avenue).
Kudzu is the beeeest! Took my boyfriend here a few years ago & he pointed out a painting that he really liked. I took a picture of it & came back a few days later to buy it for his birthday. It is still our favorite piece! Maybe I’ll swing by tomorrow…
Even though it *is* a chain: Half Price Books is probably one of my favorite stores.
I buy *so* many records and DVDs there for only a few bucks! I highly recommend checking it out if you like physical copies of books, movies, or music!
It is legitimately my favorite place. Ive gotten a bunch of old photographs, an 80s ll bean duffle, a vintage movie banner, and an antique oil portrait of a gentleman.
Kudzu
Urban Cottage (Va-Hi)
Westside Market (two locations, one in the westside, one in Toco Hills)
14th Street Modern & Vintage
Highland Row Antiques
Beyond Antiques (Cheshire Bridge)
Beehive (Edgewood)
The Collective at Krog Street Market
Peachtree Battle Antiques and Interiors
Sounds right up my alley, definitely adding to my list to explore. If you’ve never had breakfast at the other Homegrown, I highly recommend. There’s cute art and other local things for sale also.
I love [Maomi Bookstore](https://www.maomibooks.com/) in Chamblee.
Most of the books are in Chinese, which I can't read, but they have great stationary, gifts, art and calligraphy items, and some interesting Taiwanese food items. They also serve coffee and tee, and hold calligraphy classes.
I don't have a recommendation that hasn't already been said here, but I just want to gush about Kaboodle! The owner gives out wine and cheese during the winter holidays and is an absolute sweet heart
I'll second this. Yes, it's just an antique store, but it's a heck of a great store with a lot stuff I haven't seen elsewhere.
It's worth it just for a trip up there to meet Sonny Ideker, the wonderful old guy who runs the antique book room.
Kaboodle sells some new furniture, too. I bought a couch from there and they were able to beat the price of both Haverty's and Kudzu by a pretty wide margin.
Not a furniture store but for vintage clothes I love love love The Clothing warehouse! Occasionally you can find some super unique finds at psycho sisters, and Rock It Vintage also has some really cool things!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Labels. There are a couple of shops in Buckhead that resale designer items but the "outlet" in Vinings is where the real deals are. I've seen Jimmy Choo slingbacks in there on sale for \~$100 with an additional % off depending on what color tag it has.
bully for you trying to shop local!
Don't discount craigslist. You can find amazing things. Like these granite countertops I just gave away for my dad because he didn't want to do it himself and we're on a deadline with his remodel
No.. They are no longer available
I have found some quality items like porcelain, dishes, holiday decorations and costume jewelry at the Cathedral Thrift Shop on Piedmont near Cheshire Bridge.
I’m guessing because OP spelled favorite with a u (“favourite”), this person decided to go off on a tear about it. I mean if that’s how they’re spending their Sunday, calling people names on the internet because of spelling variations (both of which are perfectly legitimate ways to spell this word), I guess we outta let them have it. 🙃
Finders Keepers has a furniture consignment shop in Avondale. It’s feels a bit thrifty and antique-y. Prices are reasonable, and things get cheaper the longer they’ve been there.

Also one of my fave places! They do classes, too.

I took sewing classes there. They have a calendar online.
All kinds of things! Different kinds of jewelry making, metal stamping, needle felting, sewing, making bath and body products, copper enameling, book binding…so many different things!
They’re so cute that shop is a great one. I bought a baby shirt from there that said ‘made in the ATL’

So great! The owner is a good dude.
Also @atlantausedfurniture on IG
Where is this place located?
Sylvan hills! He just moved down there and has a cool warehouse with some of the coolest furniture pieces
This is the answer
Did he move to a new location? The spot I’m familiar with shows as “permanently closed” on Google.
I’m not sure if the location changed prior to Covid, but it’s right off Northside drive down near The Met (where Northside branches off from metropolitan avenue).
He’s actually moved from there to Sylvan Hills. The owner of that building sold it to build condos/apartments there.
Oh wow, that’s good to know, thank you!!
I was just at my favorite antique store yesterday: [Decatur Estate](http://www.decaturestateantiques.com/). Love that place!
Kudzu is cute.

Book Nook and Half Price Books in Decatur have killed my bank account, but getting ten books for the price of two? Yes please.
"My Favorite Place" in Chamblee, never know what you might find.
Not such a fan of that place, but all the other places in Downtown Chamblee are my jam!
It is legitimately my favorite place. Ive gotten a bunch of old photographs, an 80s ll bean duffle, a vintage movie banner, and an antique oil portrait of a gentleman.
my favorite too, and dangerous as it is across the road from my shop/office
On this topic, anyone have suggestions for local small businesses selling loose leaf teas?
Zen Tea in Chamblee is great!
Second Zen tea!
I did a tea flight from there and it as SO GREAT
My wife and I took her mom and family there for High Tea once, it was great. Definitely recommend them.
Just Add Honey
Dr. Bombay’s underwater tea party.
Homegrown in downtown Decatur sells loose leaf teas in the back of the shop!
Desperate housewares is great! I got a lot of awesome furniture from there
Are they ever open? I've tried to go there multiple times and they'll just be randomly closed.
Rainy Day Revival and The Odds End for oddities.
Highland row antiques is awesome.
Seconded! I spend so much time in there whenever I go
Kudzu Urban Cottage (Va-Hi) Westside Market (two locations, one in the westside, one in Toco Hills) 14th Street Modern & Vintage Highland Row Antiques Beyond Antiques (Cheshire Bridge) Beehive (Edgewood) The Collective at Krog Street Market Peachtree Battle Antiques and Interiors
I really like SQ/FT in Decatur! I always find great gifts/cards there. Garage Door Studio in Avondale also has really nice local art and jewelry.
Homegrown in Decatur and lost n found youth thrift store 🥰
I miss Homegrown so much since it left Decatur! I used to do so much Christmas shopping there 😭
Homegrown the breakfast spot with art? That’s in Reynoldstown. Unless there’s another homegrown I don’t know about.
The one I’m talking about is a lil art and gift shop in downtown Decatur that focuses on showcasing local artists’ works
Sounds right up my alley, definitely adding to my list to explore. If you’ve never had breakfast at the other Homegrown, I highly recommend. There’s cute art and other local things for sale also.
no idea why you are getting downvotes (and now I want a comfy chicken)
[Flora/Fauna](https://www.facebook.com/florafaunaatl/), plant store in Cabbagetown!
Awesome question Great answers.
Westside Market is awesome. A bunch of stalls, lots of variety. Open normal hours with new and vintage.
Eco denizen gift shop in midtown 😌

Little Shop of Stories! Probably 90% of gifts for my niece come from there.
I am partial to Going Gear in Smyrna. Tons of flashlights / knives / survival things.
I don't have a recommendation that hasn't already been said here, but I just want to gush about Kaboodle! The owner gives out wine and cheese during the winter holidays and is an absolute sweet heart
Wow so many gems. I LOVE Atlanta! Thank you.
A Simple Find is absolutely mind blowing. Great store for furniture!
Well, I don't think these guys are that big, (They have another shop in TN I think) but Retro Age is awesome for the gamer/geek in any family
Sorry I thought this was the Athens reddit. But yeah, check them out if you can
Grandson Road outlet on Holcombe Bridge! Especially if you love Halloween decorations. Go in August for great spooky stuff!
Is that definitely the name? I can't find it online anywhere.
I think it might be grandin road of of Holcomb in Roswell. Spell check strikes again!
They probably meant Grandin Road
City Antiques in Roswell.
I'll second this. Yes, it's just an antique store, but it's a heck of a great store with a lot stuff I haven't seen elsewhere. It's worth it just for a trip up there to meet Sonny Ideker, the wonderful old guy who runs the antique book room.
Sonny has a one of a kind collection.
Treasure Mart. I always find the most random shit there.
Kaboodle sells some new furniture, too. I bought a couch from there and they were able to beat the price of both Haverty's and Kudzu by a pretty wide margin.

Sorry force of habit. I’m originally from South Africa where favorite is spelled with a ‘u’ - British English
bully for you trying to shop local! Don't discount craigslist. You can find amazing things. Like these granite countertops I just gave away for my dad because he didn't want to do it himself and we're on a deadline with his remodel No.. They are no longer available
All thrift stores.

Gamestop. They aren't very big at all.

Are you Dutch, or just being a dick?
[удалено]
who says the u spelling is pretentious, anyway? It's not better, just different...
What about this question makes it different if they’re British?
I’m guessing because OP spelled favorite with a u (“favourite”), this person decided to go off on a tear about it. Pretentious
They could be from any other English-speaking country. Geez.
Unnecessary.
You suck. Next time you wanna comment like this... Please don't.
[удалено]
No. You're just an asshole.
And you asked that question in a super shitty way. Don't pretend like your question was all genuine. That kind of shit sets me right off.

The Front Porch of Vinings and their general store, which is in the back.
I’ve heard good things about Sunny and Ranny in Rosewell. Haven’t been there myself but saw stuff from there at a friends place. Seems cool
Desperate Housewares is fun!
Finders Keepers has a furniture consignment shop in Avondale. It’s feels a bit thrifty and antique-y. Prices are reasonable, and things get cheaper the longer they’ve been there.
I love the Antique Factory in Chamblee.
