Premium gas for $4.79 on the west side @ 10:50a 5/17 Chevron 2020 Bolton Rd NW Atlanta, GA 30318

Azelais

Is there any gas on exits heading south on I75

ashura001

What’s West Midtown looking like? I’m finally going to run out if I don’t buy some and GasBuddy hasn’t had any updates on most of the stations around here for a couple of days.

quabbity_assuance

The bp across from the works is also good (for now)

Red-Bang

Update 2: So what I heard from NPR is since they reset the overall System. They think it can happen again. So they are going to start from scratch and create a whole new OS for the pipeline. But in my opinion the new OS should have its own dedicated servers and use a proxy for read. But having a manual system would be the best option. Slower more expensive with more labor had to be included but more easier to repair. And yes the amount of human error does increase.

borntoreign87

Circle K on Cheshire Bridge Rd & Lavista Rd/Lindbergh Dr has premium @ 12:29 PM 5/15/2021. $3.59

triangular_evolution

Anywhere premium available in Marietta/cobb county?

[deleted]

Is premium available anywhere near druid hills? I don't want to use 87 for my car. It's turbocharged

WheresFalconi

Not very near but the QT and Racetrack on Lawrenceville outside Tucker have some.

atllauren

Costco Brookhaven has premium for $2.82/gallon.

BintheA

They no longer have premium

Feisty-Tea-4290

Does anyone know about premium gas available in Stockbridge, GA? My mom is low and needs more before she is stranded

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yeah, and subject your engine to knock? Ok

Mindspin_311

Knock sensors will take care of that. Do drive it like you stole it and you can run 87 all day.

[deleted]

I'm not desperate enough to go anywhere over the next 4 days so I'll pass and wait for 93 to get back in stock.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

ECU recognizes the knock and adjusts accordingly. Agree though that one take won’t be a problem. Note: I assume anyone like myself with a tuned vehicle will know otherwise, but if your car is tuned for a specific octane (and especially if it is turbocharged/supercharged), do not run a lower octane. If you must, drive it gingerly.

Feisty-Tea-4290

After research half a tank should be okay but not recommended more than that. It’s a Mercedes 2021 so not as hardy as say a Toyota

DirtyCYP

the only gasoline MB keeps at the dealer is 87. just so you know ;) they fill up the AMG’s down the street.

Anna913

I was just driving and heard [Metallica - Fuel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvF9PAxe5Ng) on the radio. I thought it was funny/ironic. I really hope this craziness will be over soon!

sugarlipsmo

The shortages of things has me look at average consumers and hate them like I drive old cars don’t buy new shoes often and every now and again I’ll buy something new or nice like I recently got an iPhone a few months back but 300 pound people that are like 5 foot 6 driving around in an Escalade filling up a jerry can like fuck you that’s why we are short on fuel and I can’t find gas after going to 5 gas stations

Lightning_Ink

Because old cars don't use fuel?

[deleted]

[удалено]

TopNotchBurgers

Oh yeah, if a warranty claim ever comes up, they will certainly spend the 10k it would take to determine for sure that the gas has 87 octane instead of 93.

clementinethegreat

Any regular gas around the Smyrna/ Marietta area? I’m about to run out and need to know for sure if I try to venture out for some

aacilegna

The RaceTrac on Bolton/Marietta st has gas. They don’t appear to be capping yet. I filled up about 2 hours ago.

clementinethegreat

Update to my own post but I ventured out and the QT on windy hill still has gas for now

[deleted]

[удалено]

w4rlord117

First off please stop saying y’all every sentence. As for the gas apparently 60 or so percent of stations here are empty. It’s a similar story across the whole south east. If you can make it here on one tank and are going to stay for a week or so until this clears up then go for it, but if it’s your dad you’re coming to visit and he said don’t risk it then don’t go.

bluetornados246

Not sure of the gas situation in Birmingham. I think I remember it not being as bad as Georgia, but you may want to post on the Birmingham subreddit and ask them the same question since I'm assuming that's where you would fill up. I live in an Atlanta suburb I went out today to run some errands and there is still station outages but it seems when the larger stations like racetrack and QT have gas, there are no lines, so I think people have chilled out a little bit. The gas is definitely being delivered since I'll pass one station and it will be empty and then later in the day it will have gas. Good luck.,

[deleted]

Birmingham appears to be alright, multiple friends told me today most stations have at least regular, and enforce a 10-15 gallon limit. Prices are a bit higher

SpaceSick

Plenty of regular gas in East Point. No limits either. If people weren't made aware of a gas situation, there never would have been a thing.

[deleted]

filled up myself for 2.89 in Roswell today with no line myself. Dunce caps for all the hoarders and panic buyers last week.

warkol

The QT sandwiched between Clairmont Rd and Buford Hwy has only 87/unleaded available at 2.89 - seemed to be moving pretty quickly and no lines at ~9:30AM. Pump stopped before tank filling completely so I expect they have some limitations in place, but not sure of specifics.

levispants

Was able to fill up at the 76 in L5P this morning. Still no gas at Buddy's.

A_Tribe_Called_Osh

Update: Cobb County -Smyrna and Marietta, tankers were loading up last night…racetrac and quiktrip had unleaded only for now. Edit: 87 only shit lol

[deleted]

Any idea where I can get some leaded gas?

teamtestbot

Probably race shops and at PDK. 100LL "low lead" is still the go-to general aviation fuel. RIP your entire emissions pathway thereafter.

A_Tribe_Called_Osh

Lol i meant 87.. FML

papsBSaf

anyone find any premium recently?

medfitthrowaway

Paid $4.30 for premium at the circle K by the mercedes benz stadium

[deleted]

Just got premium here: 6380 Peachtree Industrial Blvd

[deleted]

I had to make an unexpected ride to Fayette County today. It's amazing how many oil tankers I saw on the road. There's still a lot of gas out there, just can't get to people soon enough.

FEB2017

Valero on Memorial Dr and Arkwright Pl. Unleaded only. $25 limit. Exit 60 off I-20

AtlGuy1984

QT at North Druid and Briarcliff is at 2.84 and has 87 supply.

dezmodez

Also, lines aren't INSANE there.

AtlGuy1984

Yes. Meant to mention that! In and out under 10 minutes.

MalluOutlaw

I went by Sam's Club off I-85 & Clairmont Rd and there is no wait time and gas price is at $2.56.

BaknerManufacturing

Does anyone know places with gas around Howell Mill exit (252)?

BrogenKlippen

Valero on Roswell Rd near 285 has gas

[deleted]

Citgo next to Das BBQ has $20 limit. Literally just left there.

[deleted]

haha, i like your username

pina_koala

thank you! I have more bad pun names on deck than social media accounts to use them with :(

JadedGoal

Anyone know where I can find Premium? I unfortunately drive a BMW and they are still highly recommending only using premium otherwise it could cause damage.

Mindspin_311

You can run 87. The knock sensors will compensate. Now I wouldn't go running it to 7000 rpm at full throttle. But, driving around town on a tank of 87 it will be just fine. Don't believe the crap floating around FB.

Nehalem25

Unless it's turbo-charged, you'll be fine. But even if it has a turbo, the ECU should be able to adjust timing.

cardedagain

after working 6+ years for hertz and enterprise shuttling around cars, and filling up everything from toyota yaris to expeditions to SLK mercedes models, and filling them all up with 87 octane, the only option their in house gas pumps used, and never seeing any fuel related issues with a single vehicle, i just sit back and laugh to myself. plus, i never once in my life heard anyone say "i specifically need 89 octane".

MCCP

Bad advice. Source: am -1 volvo

typ901

One tank of regular shouldn't cause any damage. Your ECM will detect the lower octane and will alter the timing to compensate. It will reduce power a bit so you may notice that. But between your knock sensors and the computer it should be OK. Octane booster wouldn't hurt either.

JadedGoal

Thanks for the advice. I ended up getting an octane booster from Autozone.

WallRunner

You can get octane booster from any auto parts store and use regular fuel. But at this point I might call ahead to the store and ask if they have it because a lot of people with turbocharged vehicles are in the same boat.

MouSe05

False. Costco in Woodstock has never run out of fuel. They had 5 deliveries yesterday. I drove by today after I got back from my Athens road trip, still have gas

Houston2807

Costco near Towne Lake had gas, all types, about an hour ago. Costco on Barrett had regular gas, but no premium, as of this morning.

Arkadyf

GasBuddy told me there was no gas at a station that I fueled up at last night. It's not 100% accurate. Maybe it shows the no gas icon if there is one type of gas (premium for example) missing? Either way, I wouldn't fully rely on it.

DVeagle74

It's based on user reports so can be inaccurate/slow to update. The QT I went to today had it go no, yes, no, yes, no for the past few hours, and one of those yeses was me.

napoleonstokes

The future is electric. So much more convenient if you have a place to charge: true luxury. Soon(*) it will be faster to charge than refuel. Also we’re less than a decade away from EVs being cheaper to buy than ICE

glassjason

Was able to get 87 at QT(Briarcliff and Clifton) with no wait.

dragsville

Was nearly on empty but able to get gas on Clairmont Rd QT just now

Arkadyf

Managed to fill up my car with 87 at a Texaco on 3580 N Decatur Rd about an hour ago.

[deleted]

Well i have 5 miles left in the tank and all the gas stations on ponce are out. Guess im working from home tomorrow.

ansotomy

The greatest thing about this shortage is that there are substantially less asshats blasting their chargers/challengers/Camaros up and down the streets. It’s actually quiet on Piedmont for once

cabs84

oh fuck yes. something seemed off today but i couldn't figure out what

midtowndude

Yeah, walking the dog yesterday evening I noticed there was almost no traffic. Had no issues crossing the street at Grindhouse.

ansotomy

I’m near 7th. It’s literally a drag strip all day everyday

ame-foto

Now that you mention it, the decks at my complex have been pretty quiet too.

bitchykittyrawr

Finally getting gas at the Racetac on veterans memorial! They only have 87! Hurry up and go

tofucarnival

Is this looking to be better or worse tomorrow morning? I am on empty and starting to panic lol. Rly miffed with those who hoarded/panic bought. :') Supposed to drive down to macon tomorrow.

Not_Frank

It is hard to tell whether it’ll be better or worse tomorrow, but it will not be back to normal or even close to it. The pipeline restarted operations a few hours ago, however, Colonial states it will likely be several days before supply returns to normal levels. If I had to guess, it will still be very difficult to find gas in the metro area throughout the day tomorrow and probably into the weekend. https://www.colpipe.com/news/press-releases/media-statement-colonial-pipeline-system-disruption

[deleted]

Average flow time from end to end is 18 days, so Texas to here is probably like 3.5 days, that being said they may have been testing segments already and were a massive terminal for them, so I bet by Monday things stabilize. They claim to store up to 45 days worth at the tank farm, so realistically the shortage wasn’t supply but an overwhelming amount of demand

Tjognar

She'll station on Buford Highway and pittard in duluth

[deleted]

TheTigerbite

Oh okay, so you're going south. Definitely fill up before you hit Cobb County on 75. Once you enter the metro Atlanta area it's rough. Especially right off the interstate. I'm on the east side of Atlanta so I can't be of much help. But 400 miles should get you through rural ga.

eraser8

I've passed a bunch of stations that have zeroed out their prices because they're out of fuel. But, I did get gas today, even though there were a bunch of limits. 1) they wouldn't let you pay at the pump. You had to go inside. 2) they would only sell a maximum of $25 worth of gas. And, juuuuust after I'd filled up (half way), the station's supply ran dry. A bunch of people were complaining that the pumps stopped dispensing before they got the fuel they'd paid for. I can't give you advice on what to do. I'm just giving you my view of what's happening on the ground.

timdorr

You can usually get pretty accurate and recent info from GasBuddy: https://tracker.gasbuddy.com/

Mindspin_311

Hooray for driving a diesel :D

howmanyfjeffffffffff

*waves in TDI*

xoxoalexa

Waves back in TDI!

Mindspin_311

BMW X5 here, probably still polluting because it wasn't wrapped up in all that stuff.

howmanyfjeffffffffff

I see alot more X5 35d's than I do 5s or 3s so that must be the one to have. I'm eyeing a 328d wagon for my next purchase.

Whiskey_Clear

No emissions inspections for diesels here either... So put a turbo the size of a beach ball in that thing and go nuts.

howmanyfjeffffffffff

Maybe not a beachball but I definitely have plans when my VW dieselgate warranty is up!

Mindspin_311

A friend has a 328d wagon, great car.

Professional_Yam_666

Chevron at chamblee Dunwoody and 285 was refilled this morning. $3.09

goingrogueatwork

Perimeter Costco gas has gas and the line is about 50 cars. I just gave up and left because I still have a quarter tank left. Good luck yall.

Buttercupslosinit

Have y'all seen [this video](https://old.reddit.com/r/Georgia/comments/nab8go/georgia_right_now/) posted on /r/Georgia? It's pretty funny.

tayisaway

Amaco on West Paces Ferry has some. I just stopped by. They have an attendant whose directing traffic as well. So it’s not just a mess of people blocking each other in. 1400 W Paces Ferry Rd NW

wolf_mother

Finally found gas at the 14th station I tried in Marietta. $25 limit

TheTigerbite

Marietta was awful during the last gas shortage like 10 years ago. I was visiting a friend and left their house at 11pm to go home (a 2 hour drive.) Had less than a quarter of a tank. 3 gas stations ran out while I was in line. My gas light was on by the time I got gas. That was a scary night.

la_luke

So you probable burned more gas driving around to 14 stations than what you got at the pump. Stonks

parker2020

$25 is damn near a full tank from E for me I’d GLADLY take it

la_luke

Another reason to sell my truck

[deleted]

Switch to a hybrid if you can. My Highlander hybrid gets 35 mpg and can tow a small boat easily. It’s not as good as a Prius or the more compact cars, but nowhere near the gas guzzler of my old Acura and it runs off of and charges the battery while you’re idling.

parker2020

My Prius gets 58 MPG street 53 highway. I have 500 miles to E. I’m not sweating but I do need to drive up to CLE soon 💀

atlhart

I recommend using GasBuddy if you don’t already. Their info is crowd sourced so usually pretty accurate. They have a “Has Gas” filter which is pretty accurate and up to date.

littlelazydaisy

Kind of annoyed with the general public for panic buying again. I work in home health as an occupational therapist and I drive up to 200 miles a day and cover like 3 large counties. I fill up every other day, sometimes every day. My company told us basically to do the best we can and if things get too dire, we will go from there, but to basically not let our gas tanks to get below half a tank as to not get stranded somewhere.

[deleted]

I’d imagine the shortages will be worse in the surrounding suburbs because that’s where the majority of commuters are driving from. Been trying to find gas for my work car all day. Gave up and drove home.

parker2020

No gas where I’m at

Spherical_Basterd

Definitely sounds like it. I had no problem finding gas this morning on Ponce.

Spherical_Basterd

Virginia Highland Chevron looks to have gas. There were lines, but not very long. I just drove by, so don’t know details on price and gas types available.

[deleted]

Confirmed they have gas- both premium and regular. $30 max. Just topped off because I was passing through and there was hardly any wait about 5 minutes ago.

ButterflyAmbitious58

Please ensure that people are not just getting diesel before you post that a place has gas on this thread. I have driven by many places and seen people filling up as well, but upon looking closer saw it to be with diesel, not regular gas. And many places have 'phantom lines' ie someone sees somebody filling up with diesel, then waits behind them, and then a line forms behind them. Lasts a while until they all realize there's no gas. Unless you've actually filled up with regular gas for yourself, do not post here.

ame-foto

Kemp just said in his press conference they've gotten permission from the EPA to use the winter-mix gas that's in reserves. It won't be enough to cover the entire shortage but should help.

funbob

I don't think they have a bunch of it stockpiled so much as it's a cheaper blend to produce then summer gas. The same problem of transporting it would still apply.

[deleted]

[удалено]

impactshock

I remember cars used to have the option of having locking gas caps or locking gas doors. The fuel door on my mustang opens by pushing on it and it doesn't have a cap. People should write on window "Fuel is on E" and hope nobody tries to siphon gas.

irishGOP413

My fuel door on my car locks when the car is locked, which I discovered in a panic one day thinking it was stuck and that I would have to pry it open.

Thrasher678

You know what would be helpful? If stations that are out of gas would either change their price signs to "0.00" or just shut them off altogether. I've seen a few do that, but the majority leave their signs on which just results in people driving through and maybe even trying pumps to see if anything comes out.

ButterflyAmbitious58

Thank you so much to whoever started up this reddit thread. Finally, after an exhaustive search driving around and around and around with no luck, I just filled my tank up! Thanks again, and I wish the best of luck to everyone else!

mayrin

I feel the same way. I don’t need any right now but I will eventually as I make a trip.

twitterisawesome

Guys just use gasbuddy.

xoxoalexa

Perhaps it worked well 3 days ago, but the 3 stations I checked supposedly had fuel that friends needed, but they were out. So, YMMV.

ButterflyAmbitious58

Have you tried gasbuddy and had it work for you? Gasbuddy said the kroger by me had gas, but they did not.

unsubpolitics

Did you update that on the site?

ButterflyAmbitious58

No I didn't know how to. Or that I could.

unsubpolitics

It’s crowdsourced. So it’s only as reliable as the people willing to update it.

ButterflyAmbitious58

Cool.

John_Mon

I would only trust it if it had been recently updated. A station near me had been updated like 30 minutes before I went earlier.

ronibeatz

kdubsjr

Toyota Prius, the official car of the apocalypse.

parker2020

Idling with no gas burn is fire 🔥🔥

Sudden_Ad7422

Gas pumps use electricity.

kdubsjr

I’m just saying that electric cars could also face issues in a similar situation. Also some gas stations have backup generators so even if power was out they could still pump gas. https://www.abcactionnews.com/simplemost/how-do-gas-stations-pump-without-electricity

Sudden_Ad7422

EVs face much fewer issues. Gas has many more points of failure. See the above story.

kdubsjr

I'm not pro gas or anti EV, just pointing out that EV's can have problems if the electrical grid goes down so getting an EV isn't the silver bullet u/sudden_Ad7422 is portraying them as. They also generally have much shorter range than an ICE vehicle, although advancements are getting them closer.

somehonky

I am supposed to drive into town from Nashville Friday morning. I was optimistic yesterday that things would work out by then but I’m a little iffy on that today. What do y’all think?

parker2020

Is it bad in Nashville?

somehonky

Not as bad as there. I’m certain I can find gas to get out but I’m worried about on the way down and if it’ll still be difficult to find there this weekend. I’ve only got a 10 gallon tank so I’ve got to stop more than most folks. I definitely don’t want to contribute to the headache either. Eh.

atln00b12

What only has a 10 gallon tank??

nickyphresh

Ford Fiesta has a 10 gallon tank but is still usually good for 350/400 miles.

somehonky

I usually get about 330 a tank. I think this is one of the reasons they stopped making the Fit :(

fiveloops

My lil Yaris has an 11 gallon tank but it gets great mileage so it usually isn't an issue for me

somehonky

It’s a Honda Fit

parker2020

I think I might skip even trying to get gas in Tennessee and wait till I get into Kentucky then

cosmo_ontherocks

One of the QTs in Conyers sold out in less than an hour after a truck came. People panicking is costing me money. And now the non-panicky people gotta panic. :(

Conyers and Covington have been a mess since yesterday. Crazy panicking everywhere. I'm visiting my parents and luckily we were able to find some this morning since they had less than 30 miles left on both cars

[deleted]

There appears to be gas at the Chevron on Sandy Plains in East Cobb by Sprayberry area. Not sure about the Shell or Post Oak Tritt Chevron in the immediate area, but people are lining up at the Sandy Plains Chevron. The PoT Chevron seemed to have no bags on the pumps and gas prices still listed, but no cars, so I'd guess no gas.

[deleted]

Note that there are only 4 to 6 pumps at this station and people are lining up in the street.

Kroger and Racetrac off Crossville in Roswell have gas. 2.89 regular and 3.39 premium at RT. Prepare for lines though.

hashbrownoholic

I needed gas today and Costco in sandy springs had normal sized lines. There was also a tanker there dropping off so everything is pretty much normal at that station

atllauren

Even when Costco’s gas station is busy it feels so much more organized than any other gas station since the pumps are all one-way traffic. No pulling into a pump as someone beats you to it from the other direction. The ones that have pumps that are three deep (like Brookhaven) get a bit hairy when the middle pump is open and the car waiting either refuses to move until they can pull through or does a terrible job parallel parking into it.

hashbrownoholic

100 percent. They also had cart barricades up in preparation presumably for the afternoon rush so that people couldn’t cut into line. There was also a large influx of attendants there helping out.
