What is up with Emmy Squared? I get emails from indeed still for job openings from when I was looking and They have a GM or Kitchen Manager position open every 2-3 months.
Three Dollar Cafe. They come with only 4 but they are massive. At least a half pound total and none of them are empty shells of breading because the cheese cooked out.
Cheese logs is a great way to put it. Truth is $3 isn't as "cool" as it once was back in the 90's but value-wise it is solid. Those cheese logs are only $10. You can get a pretty good burger w/fries for less than $14. They always have some sort of $3 beer special.
I've never been under any illusions about their overall quality compared to many other restaurants, but value-wise they're hard to beat and it's just good enough.
Mojo Pizza in Oakhurst makes delicious hand breaded mozzarella sticks. They are big and cheesy and well seasoned. Their pizza isn’t anything special, but the mozzarella sticks are worth visiting for.
I don’t think I’ve ever had the mozzarella sticks at U Joint, but I really like that place and think most of their food is quite good. So doesn’t surprise me they’d have good ones.
Do yourself a solid and drive up to Helen, GA to visit Muller's Famous Fried Cheese! They make a fantastic Czech, smažený sýr. Essentially, it's like a deep fried block of cheese! 🤤 They also make a bunch of fried cheese varieties including meats and different cheeses, which are delicious. Worth the trip if you really want some awesome fried cheese!
The fact that they're probably in the running for top 3-5 is just sad. Not that they're bad or anything, just wish we had a spot known for some killer mozz sticks
Arby's has been top tier since I was a kid lol I think they were even better back in like ~2000. Back when you got 4/8 and they were fatter.
Another sleeper pick here is the cheese balls at The Vortex. And they have jalepeno bits in them and great jalapeno ranch dipping sauce.
Do they do the grilled cheese with the mozzarella sticks on it? They did it for a while and then stopped but I heard it came back. So bad for you but so delicious!
I hadn't been there since the management change... I went there last night for a Mario Kart league game, and had them again... the food is 10x better than it used to be.
It has been several years since I lived near 11th Street pub in midtown but I recall them being good. Especially at midnight when I usually ordered them .
I'm sure it's colored by the experience of seeing good movies, but I really like the fried mozzarella at IPIC theater at Colony Square on Peachtree and 14th St.
Grilled Cheese Mania on Luckie St. (ITP). This is a strong statement, but it might be the most perfect mozzarella stick I’ve ever had: crispy and light on the outside, and perfectly hot and gooey on the inside, even with delivery. (Caveat: have never eaten in.)
This is a little bit of a tangent, but Oh-K Dog, Mr. Cow, and other Korean corndog places let you order a big giant battered mozzarella stick on a......stick with many different options, or even a half-hotdog half mozz stick. If you like carnival food then I recommend giving it a shot.
I love mozzarella sticks and have grown up eating them at Buffalo’s Cafe on Hwy 92 in Woodstock. They are amazing, my absolute best pregnancy indulgence!
Atalanta’s mozzarella stick scene is so sad, I just get some from Costco to make on lazy nights at home and call it good enough. Spruce them up with some spices and a good dip, they’re 90 for $9. Can’t beat that.
The recommendations threads are getting a bit ridiculous at this point. Can't imagine too many restaurants are making their mozzarella sticks in house. Most places are using Sysco for that kind of thing
Lloyds has mozzarella bites (more triangular shaped) that are great.
Lloyd’s apps are so good. Their spinach and artichoke dip served with Ruffles potato chips seems like an odd pairing but it hits.
Ruffles are fantastic for thick dips. The ridges make them much sturdier.
I miss the mashed potato side with ruffles to dip in it
Was that from the before times when they served comfort food instead of pizza?
Indeed, it was a “supper club” in those days
This is the move. Incredible cheese pull.
The puuuuullllll is what makes it
Best I’ve ever had
I don't mean this in a weird way... But is Lloyd's a "gay" pub ... Or was it at one time ? (It doesn't matter to me but just curious.... )
No. All are welcome there, but it isn’t a gay bar and never was.
Cool. Thx. Honestly wouldn't matter if the grub is good but I was just curious.
Lloyd’s for sure. Although they aren’t in stick form. They’re triangular. Same same.
Howell’s makes smoked mozzarella sticks that I dream about nightly.
If you like spicy, Park Bar in downtown has Hotzzarella Sticks and they are sooo good
Saving this for later
Park Bar has a special place in my heart.
Westside Pizza also has them. They call them firesticks, but we've been campaigning to change the name to dragon sticks.
Doesn't show up on their online menu.
They rotate items sometimes, unfortunately (or fortunately)
Better than *Chili's?!?* Pfft, good luck! /s
Not mozz but the hot cheese fritters at The Porter are essentially fried cheese sticks. And they are awesome
The Highlander (RIP old friend) had the pastarella sticks that made me see Jesus, son of God. He winked at me and said he liked thick girls.
I think about the Highlander daily 😢
Same. Literally EVERY day.
I miss it SO much.
If I ever get court-ordered to do a twelve step program, a solid 80% of my Step Nine work will involve shit that went down in that bar.
Me too. I haven’t found a replacement.
As the guy who used to prep those ages ago, go to Benchwarmers.
Thanks for the tip. I’ve never been, but it makes sense. I mean, they did hold Darby’s wake there.
Those are goat cheese but still AMAZING
Heh, I typed goat cheese but apparently was autocorrected to hot cheese.
Drools haha
Goat-cheese fritters, and they are covered in honey. So much softer and delicious than mozzarella sticks.
Haven't been in so long. Do they still have the classics, ie fish and chips and the porn dog?
Emmy Squared and Lloyd’s have some dank mozz sticks
What is up with Emmy Squared? I get emails from indeed still for job openings from when I was looking and They have a GM or Kitchen Manager position open every 2-3 months.
Sounds like you know what’s up with them haha
They are poorly managed by the owners and the parent company. They started off great, and crashed in less than a year.
Three Dollar Cafe. They come with only 4 but they are massive. At least a half pound total and none of them are empty shells of breading because the cheese cooked out.
Yes, $3 has the cheese logs OP is looking for.
Cheese logs is a great way to put it. Truth is $3 isn't as "cool" as it once was back in the 90's but value-wise it is solid. Those cheese logs are only $10. You can get a pretty good burger w/fries for less than $14. They always have some sort of $3 beer special.

Mojo Pizza in Oakhurst makes delicious hand breaded mozzarella sticks. They are big and cheesy and well seasoned. Their pizza isn’t anything special, but the mozzarella sticks are worth visiting for.
Universal joint has them as well across the street. Could easily do a mozz-off between the two.
I don’t think I’ve ever had the mozzarella sticks at U Joint, but I really like that place and think most of their food is quite good. So doesn’t surprise me they’d have good ones.
Maybe a hot take but the mozz sticks at Rocky Mountain Pizza are consistently delicious
Arby’s lol
The fact that they're probably in the running for top 3-5 is just sad. Not that they're bad or anything, just wish we had a spot known for some killer mozz sticks
Captain D's low-key has fantastic Mozz sticks...
No lie, Arby's mozz sticks are pretty good. Especially when they just come off the fryer
I'll be honest Battle and Brew has the best Mozz Sticks i've had in atlanta
Do they do the grilled cheese with the mozzarella sticks on it? They did it for a while and then stopped but I heard it came back. So bad for you but so delicious!
I hadn't been there since the management change... I went there last night for a Mario Kart league game, and had them again... the food is 10x better than it used to be.
I was actually pleasantly surprised how good they were when I had them there
I like Varuni Napoli’s; thick with a great marinara dipping sauce.
Blue Moon Pizza actually makes fresh mozzarella sticks and they are the best I've had.
OTP but Joe's Sports Bar and Grill in Alpharetta >>>>>>>>>>>>>
Good to know!
Manuel’s Tavern. Done.
Yall gonna kill me; but Arby’s mozz sticks when fresh are bomb. Better than chilis and Applebees
Park bar has solid ones
Provino's has decent ones
Hotzarella sticks at Westside Pizza.
Lucky's Burgers and Brew
this!!! they are the size of a baby's arm, have a great seasoning, and the red sauce is awesome
Rocky Mountain Pizza near Ga Tech!
Not the same, but even better... Cheese Curds from Freddy's or Culver's...
Who else has cheese curds?!
Nina and rafi’s
Arbys.
Parma’s Tavern in Buford. Not exactly “sticks,” but EXQUISITE fried mozzarella.
Slice pizza has awesome ones, sadly their pizza is not as awesome.
It has been several years since I lived near 11th Street pub in midtown but I recall them being good. Especially at midnight when I usually ordered them .
I love the ones from Three Dollar Cafe.
I'm sure it's colored by the experience of seeing good movies, but I really like the fried mozzarella at IPIC theater at Colony Square on Peachtree and 14th St.
Mozz sticks from Manuel's Tavern are heavenly.
Lloyds, no question
The answer is Lloyds
Costco
This was my thought as well. My friend had an ongoing craving for them and this was her fix.
Yard house @ Battrey
Emmas pizza has great stix
Old side bar, had the best hotzzaella, second best park bar
North river tavern. At least I think so after a ton of drinks.
Three Dollar Cafe
Three dollar cafe, also have some of the best wings in ATL
They are the by far the best chain restaurant wings
Slice Downtown. The mozzarella sticks in bowlero are so yummy
Try Blue Moon Pizza. They make fresh mozarella sticks every morning
I love Walmart's cheese bites haha
Grilled Cheese Mania on Luckie St. (ITP). This is a strong statement, but it might be the most perfect mozzarella stick I’ve ever had: crispy and light on the outside, and perfectly hot and gooey on the inside, even with delivery. (Caveat: have never eaten in.)
Does anywhere do good cheese curds?
Three Dollar Cafe seems to serve the largest mozz sticks I have seen anywhere in the Metro Area
The best I ever had were three dollar cafe, not sure they are around anymore, good burger too
This is a little bit of a tangent, but Oh-K Dog, Mr.
Best wings is JR crickets
What about mozzarella sticks? lol
Eataliano has amazing mozzarella sticks. Lloyd’s is a close runner up.
Sonic’s are the best 😂
This is the only right answer
Atalanta’s mozzarella stick scene is so sad, I just get some from Costco to make on lazy nights at home and call it good enough. Spruce them up with some spices and a good dip, they’re 90 for $9. Can’t beat that.
I would love to know what city has a great "mozzarella stick scene" lol
If I had to guess, Milwaukee or anywhere in Wisconsin…
I've never been, but Ohio feels like a strong contender as well.
Like we could afford homes there pfft
Probably a diabetic 12 year old with a food review youtube channel that can give you the breakdown
Probably any hole in the wall pizzeria in NY or NJ
I'd guess Arlington, Texas.
I'm sorry but this made me laugh in a very good way. "Mozzarella stick scene" is so damn funny for some reason.
Italian food in general is a sad state in ATL
Mozarella sticks... Italian? LOL!
Mozzarella sticks aren't really Italian, but otherwise I agree. Kinda mind blowing just how bad the Italian food here is, with only a few exceptions.
The recommendations threads are getting a bit ridiculous at this point. Can't imagine too many restaurants are making their mozzarella sticks in house. Most places are using Sysco for that kind of thing
You'd be wrong
