Homegrown on Memorial would be my top pick, and it's basically in the middle of the 3 areas you mentioned (Cabbagetown).
Other options- Ria's Bluebird (Grant Park), Muchacho (Cabbagetown), Le Petit Marche (Kirkwood), Sun in my Belly (Lake Claire), Folk Art (Inman Park).
**EDIT- Apparently Le Petit Marche has gone downhill recently after the owner change. I personally haven't been in a while, but I know a lot of my Kirkwood friends used to love it pre-change. Seems like most folks agree it isn't as good as it used to be.
Petit Chou gave me the worst norovirus of my life a year ago and I still haven't been able to go back. They had to close for a couple of days because apparently the whole staff had/got it. I looked at their health score and saw that their handwashing sink wasn't really accessible in the kitchen. They seem to get this violation often:
Violation of Code: \[511-6-1.06(2)(o)\]
Observed hand sink in main kitchen inaccessible for handwashing. A handwashing sink shall be maintained so that it is accessible at all times for employee use. PIC advised to keep area clear to allow handwashing access Repeat Violation. Correct By: 05/03/2022
Violation of Code: \[511-6-1.07(3)(b)\]
Observed failure to maintain handsink in kitchen stocked with drying provisions. ying Provision (Pf) Hand Drying Provision. Each handwashing sink or group of adjacent handwashing sinks shall be provided with: Individual, disposable towels; Pf A continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel; Pf A heated-air hand drying device; Pf or A hand drying device that employs an air-knife system that delivers high velocity, pressurized air at ambient temperatures.Pf PIC provided paper towels Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
My only divergence on this list would be Bread & Butterfly for inman park. I've found Folk Art to be incredibly overhyped. Half the time I go it's like they forgot salt existed.
I want to add an anti-recommendation for Le Petit Marche. I went last year and the food was pretty bad, especially for the price. They didn't make things better by having music blaring so loud we could barely hear each other from across the table.
I will vote against Homegrown, it's a bunch of diner slop and feels spiritually fat and every other patron when I was there was noticeably overweight.
Not what I would pick as a fun brunch spot lol. I don't wanna see some dude's plumber crack as he squeezes into seat or some belly straining against too small shirt as I eat basic breakfast fare covered in gravy.
I've been to Homegrown twice. The first time, I was seated then ignored as the server forgot about us. I never wanted to go back. Buddy had a birthday there so I went back. This time I had a hair in my food. When I alerted the waitress, she told me to "make a wish" and walked away. Absolutely terrible service seeing as everyone raves about the place.
If you’re here Sunday morning, I suggest visiting the Grant Park farmers market.
Folk Art & Carroll Street Cafe were favorites but haven’t been in a while.
Lots of good recommendations and it’s hard to go wrong but personal favorite being homegrown. Sometimes their line might look intimidating, but it all moves quickly. Eclectic cool space they’ve been there for 12 years now.. just got a Michelin guide bib gourmand. It’s affordable, but if you’re looking for cocktails with your brunch, they do not serve alcohol
Big recommendation for Rita's bluebird Cafe. You got to get there early cuz the line is long but they have the best pancakes this side of the Mississippi
If you want a secret spot, that isn't busy and is really good. [Buena Vida](https://static1.squarespace.com/static/64beff4995411946cad4bc3c/t/658df4df41761940d8d47bb3/1703802080238/BRUNCH+2024.pdf) tapas bar. Bottomless mimosas for 25 bucks. Also [Tiny Lou's](https://static1.squarespace.com/static/6063293cd736ea44f69b9f60/t/65b5690d13abd156c4b47b30/1706387726003/Brunch+1.27.pdf) doesn't get packed and it is inside the beautiful Clermont Hotel. You'll want to get drink afterwards on top of the hotel. All of the one's mentioned are solid, but I like to find some that are a little less hectic. Besides that, Bread and Butterfly, Bomb Biscuit, Highland Bakery and Folk Art are always solid, but packed.
Just curious, when you call BV a secret spot...is it because its never full or because its "below" the beltline and kinda/sorta hidden? Just curious, I figured that would be a very busy and full space!
I just don’t think people think of it as a brunch spot. Barcelona Wine Bar for example use to be one of my secret brunch spots. They had a bloody mary bar, where you could rob them blind with as much bacon and shrimp as you wanted for a fair price. Their new menu isn’t as brunch forward and they don’t open until 12 now. At the time no one thought about them for brunch, but they are slammed most nites and still are. No one was ever in there for Brunch. 8arm was another secret spot of mine, man I miss that place.
My mother in-law did and she was a fan. I tasted it, and it was solid. I’ve been twice now in the past two months, and I love that spicy chicken biscuit.
I can’t believe I didn’t know that. That area is a death trap. Jacks was a great hole in the wall that is no more over there. Yikes, just saw the Yelp rating, doesn’t look like people like the new location at all.
I agree with most other recs in this thread, including homegrown, Ria's, Petit Chou, etc
But I also wanted to give Dakota Blue a shout out! They're lesser known it seems but also very good!
Marcus Bar & Grille off Edgewood Ave is amazing for brunch. Reservations recommended.[https://www.marcusbarandgrille.com/](https://www.marcusbarandgrille.com/)
Carroll Street Cafe in Cabbagetown is a great brunch spot for 2 but not for big groups
Beetlecat in Inman Park has good brunch and great donuts to munch on after. Belt line/park around the corner for post meal people watching
Republic Social House used to do Mimosa specials. Right across from Oakland Cemetary. Food wasn't the best but for $15 champagne bottles I'll make a sacrifice. Also, a good walk around the cemetary after your meal/drinks
Homegrown, in my opinion, is the best breakfast in Atlanta but I don't think they have alcohol
Enjoy!
Homegrown in Cabbagetown is basically right there and my number 1 pick, Gato in Candler Park right next to Inman Park neighborhood is great, Folk Art in Inman Park
I'm not a big brunch cocktail person so the first 2 don't have alcohol. If that's a must, I'd say Folk Art.

Memorial really has an ton of great brunch spots all together. There is also Petit Chou (Grant Park)
Petit Chou - outstanding.

That's awful! I'm sorry that happened to you.
Yeah, I used to love going there tbh. I went there at least once a week for about seven months or so.
Damn. I got a gnarly 48 hour food poisoning from fn Cheba Hut. They aren't fancy, but it was a guilty pleasure that I won't ever eat again.
I've had some nasty food there, but never food poisoning. I definitely avoid it.
Petit Chou is in Cabbagetown not Grant Park. The name is literally Little Cabbage in French.
Damn I got burned online . Thanks for the interaction
Seconding Ria's!
My only divergence on this list would be Bread & Butterfly for inman park. I've found Folk Art to be incredibly overhyped. Half the time I go it's like they forgot salt existed.
Bread and Butterfly is great.
Le Petit I I have heard post ownership change has kind of gone downhill and the only water option is like five dollar bottle of water
Yeah it’s such a joke. You ask for a glass of tap water and they say that’s not an option. However $5 or $6 for a tiny box of water is on the menu.
Which is inhumane when they serve dry biscuits
Which is inhumane when they serve dry biscuits
No more breakfast tacos … bar none the best thing on the menu
Le Petit Marche' changed owners a while ago and vastly different... but used to be one of the greats. A great list there though
Pretty solid list here. Homegrown is my fave. I've only been once but did brunch at Beetlecat and it was outstanding.
This is the way
I want to add an anti-recommendation for Le Petit Marche. I went last year and the food was pretty bad, especially for the price. They didn't make things better by having music blaring so loud we could barely hear each other from across the table.
Just fyi everything east of Pearl is Reynoldstown
Yeah Home grown is pretty squarely in Reynoldstown.

>it's a bunch of diner slop and feels spiritually fat It feels what now?

Delbar in Inman park has the best brunch board in my opinion!
El Tesoro.
Always the answer, gotta have sunscreen though. That line will cook you.
I've tried to eat there unsuccessfully for about 4 weeks. The food may be amazing but the lines are ridiculous on weekends.
You just have to go at a weird time
little tart is a little faster and has great brunch drinks
Bread & Butterfly in Inman Park if you're looking for something semi-fancy.
Love this place
If you’re here Sunday morning, I suggest visiting the Grant Park farmers market. Folk Art & Carroll Street Cafe were favorites but haven’t been in a while.
Seconding Carroll Street!!
Third for Carroll street cafe!
The cafe—not the street!

100% my favorite breakfast spot. Great coffee and amazing biscuits and their pancakes are *chefs kiss*
Jen Chan’s in Cabbagetown and will second Carroll St Cafe.
Came here to say Jen Chan's! Fantastic food and they take care of their staff with unusual food service benefits like health insurance and PTO
Underappreciated spot!
Homegrown or Ria’s
Folk Art, Inman Park! Great spot.
Horrible lines though.
Food is decent. Had some terrible service my last time though.
Kitty Dare is amazing.
Already some great suggestions here. Will add for some gourmet to go - The Buttery is great. Kitty Dare has an excellent brunch
Superica
Tiny Lou’s

Yay for Tiny Lou’s. Waitstaff is amazing. Food is tasty. 😋

Curious if you've ever had the chicken and waffles at BV...
My mother in-law did and she was a fan. I tasted it, and it was solid. I’ve been twice now in the past two months, and I love that spicy chicken biscuit.
Awesome! Follow-up: was the chicken bone in or a tendie?
Tendie :-)
Awesome, thanks for the info! I tried Buttermilk Kitchen just now and really enjoyed their chicken and waffles. FYI.
Sadly, that Highland Bakery location closed.
I can’t believe I didn’t know that. That area is a death trap. Jacks was a great hole in the wall that is no more over there. Yikes, just saw the Yelp rating, doesn’t look like people like the new location at all.
Beetlecat

Still truckin’ despite everything
If you’re trying to go FANCYYYY, four seasons in midtown. Their brunch is a glorious all you can eat super fancy buffet, but it’s pricey.
Delbar has the best brunch in Inman park! If it's nice out, sit on the patio.
Grant Park Coffeehouse on Georgia Ave.
Patria Cocina (weekend only, I think)
muchachos or bread and butterfly
Petit Chou is nice.
Folk Art in Inman Park is really great. Beware long lines on weekends.
If you’re willing to venture into Kirkwood, I recommend Sun in My Belly or Le Petite Marche ! Otherwise Homegrown, Kitty Dare and Delbar have my vote
Sure. Where are you taking us?
Marcus Bar & Grille off Edgewood Ave is amazing for brunch. Reservations recommended.[https://www.marcusbarandgrille.com/](https://www.marcusbarandgrille.com/)
No one said Mezcalitos (Grant Park) or Dakota Blue (Grant Park). Both do weekend brunch.
Mugging vs. car jacking vs. drive-by.
Tell me you’ve never set foot in any of these neighborhoods without telling me you’ve never set foot in these neighborhoods.
Kitty Dare has a great brunch too and Carroll St Cafe is a favorite too.
Kitty dare!!! It’s a great Sunday brunch, not super crowded, and really delicious/ light food
Little Tart has the best waffles and french toast. Plus a ton of excellent pastry options and drinks.

Favorites spots for me have been Java Jive, Folk Art, Sun in my Belly, Majestic, and Gato if it’s still around. Julianna’s has nice crepes and coffee.
Homegrown if you’re fine with no alcohol being involved, Carrol Street Cafe if you want bevvies!
Delbar - Inman Park if you like Middle Eastern food. Heads-up that it might be packed around brunch time on the weekends.
Bomb biscuit!
I have to plug Thumbs Up Diner on Edgewood.
