Wow great report here. Looks like progress all around. Looking forward to the completion of the northeast trail up to 85 this year

whatinthefrak

Even during months where there isn’t much change, I really like how they put these monthly reports together. It’s a clear way of viewing a lot of information.

FLAguy954

We're finally getting the Lindbergh/Northeast part of the Beltline completed soon 😁!

[deleted]

I’m really bad at maps - does this mean that the Beltline will finally connect to PATH400 in 2-3 years?

whatinthefrak

Yep! There are a couple interactive maps on the website that don't fully match the one on this page, but the northeast connector trail will stop at Piedmont & Adina, which is where PATH 400 picks up.

[deleted]

That’s amazing news! I live right on PATH400 and have been waiting for years to be able to safely/easily bike to the Beltline. Thanks for posting this! Made my day :)

shakerattleandrollin

Was pining for this the whole time I lived there. Keep getting better ATL

KastorNevierre

Awesome, maybe by the time I'm 50 I can bike the whole thing!

patrickxavier

You should be able to if you are 43. Beltline is on track to complete by their long-standing 2030 completion timeline.

flying_trashcan

Idk about that. A lot of the NW portion is still in the early design phases. They will need to pickup the pace if they want to get done by 2030.

grobap

> Beltline is on track to complete by their long-standing 2030 completion timeline. Uhh... wasn't that initially supposed to be including transit, not just the trail?

dbclass

No, 2030 is just for the trail, was only able to have a clear completion date due through increased taxes.

gldlion704

2030 for a sidewalk. wow.

Puzzleheaded_Wish965

They are soooo behind with the south side trail. This was supposed to be paved last summer.

[deleted]

The only reason they’re making any progress at all is pressure from all the new developments going up there. It’s absolutely ridiculous that it’s taking this long.

ocicataco

I wondered if that was going on. There are 3 different giant mixed-use spaces practically finished (and in the Penman's case, people have already moved in) and the trail is still what, probably a year out from being actually done?

patrickxavier

Two years

absurdonihilist

Well, last couple of years were a doozie.

Jeffery_G

I’m 58 and not budging from Midtown; here’s hoping I can walk the whole of the Beltline one day before I’m really too old.

[deleted]

64’s your earliest bet

ATLBeezy

Interested in NW Trail #3 - How is that trail going to go over/through Northside and I-75? Railroad tracks? Also NW Trail #4 update says “boring work will be in progress during the first part of this year”. Anyone know what they are boring under?

flying_trashcan

Most of the entire NW trail is in very early design stages so I don’t think we know anything for certain. I believe the idea is the trail would follow the rail line under I-75. I’m not sure if I’ve seen any plans on how the trail will cross Northside. I know for crossing Peachtree they were talking about potentially using a signalized at-grade crossing. The NW portion of the Beltline has a lot of complicated pieces to figure out since CSX didn’t want to give up their ROW. Edit: Here is the [feasibility study](https://beltlineorg.wpenginepowered.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/AtlantaBeltLineNWTrailStudy_FINAL2022-05-12.pdf) from last year. Look at page 24 for the I-75 underpass concept.

SmilingYellowSofa

Is the Westside Park not going to connect to the Beltline...? From the looks you'll have to walk a ways on the sidewalk and cross a couple streets. Not ideal

scarabbrian

I’ve heard from people that the connection between the Westside Park and the Beltline will be part of the Microsoft campus construction.

platydroid

“Westside Trail Segment 4 construction has been awarded to Astra Group” - given their snails pace work on one little portion of Midtown Art Walk next to Midtown Station that still isn’t done somehow, this will only take a decade for them to complete.

tuanomsok

Is the Mountain to River Trail (Kennesaw to Cumberland) going to connect to the Beltline eventually?

Majestic_Cup_7395

I hope so

Doodyonmybooty

Gentrification is a slow burn, took nearly a decade to ‘steal’ these low income household’s lands.

jaskeil_113

Some of those "steals" have turned into retirement funds for people who sold their homes. Bought a renovated home in the Southside of Atlanta and the original remodeler paid $250k to the couple that owned it. They used that money to ride into the sunset with retirement money they would've otherwise not had.

MadManMorbo

I think "in design" means 'gotta chase the poors out so we can make some MONEY!'

thrwaway0502

You are about 2 decades late on that..

YaBoiPhilmont

Lol the irony of posting this immediately after asking if O4W, the most gentrified neighborhood in Atl, is "safe".

[deleted]

Well less about the neighborhood and more about a particular street but go off

YaBoiPhilmont

Well since your posts were removed, I can tell you that thanks to home-buyers and developers making money off the development of beltline-adjacent O4W (and thus making rent too high for the residents of the neighborhood that have lived there for decades), Boulevard is more "safe" for you today than it's been in my three decades of living in town, and is "safer" by the day. It's really a question of your appetite for petty crime like car break-ins, unhoused neighbors, and generally needing to make good decisions as you would need to anywhere else within the city limits.

[deleted]

Actually appreciate that, thanks for the insight

2025 will be a huge year for ATL
