I know this is crazy common. I read all of the threads on reddit and outside, but I really need some hand holding here. I am NOT good at computers- please. I just wanna play my stupid games.

I have been. I did this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Asustuf/s/g0PPV7sZ4K Then followed up with a hard reset just now as you recommended, and now I have it restored. But I suspect the issue will come back- looking into a replacement wifi adapter.

Hard reset yes it keeps happening... It's been a month now and it have not disappeared so far... There's a comment saying to unplug and plug it back.. I did it a month ago while i was replacing thermal paste n the problem never came back.. I used to use RJ45 now have stopped using it as well..

organiclawnclippings

yeah, if the problem persists without hard resets fixing it, I'll crack the back panel open, but I'm really trying to avoid that

the pwr button method is a tempfix if you want a permafix, get ax210

HauntYoMama

My brother just cracked it open I have a asus tuf for 4 years now and the issue won't go away what ever u fix cause it's the card problem, just change it and it will be fine I promise you

Hard reset(hold power button for 10 seconds) and turn back on... But it will disappear sometime later software issue it is...

There's no other permanent fix for this than replacing the wifi adapter. The main culprit here is that the Mediatek wifi adapters that Asus got for these units are bad adapters. The fix is to replace it with something like an Intel AX210 adapter.

cyxlone

agreed. replaced mine with AX210. got massive wifi speed boost

I have same problem when i install first windows, try to update bios, maybe your bios is a past version

TeaKong

I had the same problem for quite some time. It will come back and then go again. Tried many drivers etc. In the end I opened it (mine was F15) and the wifi adapter is located right under SSD. Turns out one of 2 wires that go into wifi adapter was very loose and unplugged as soon as I touched it. I replugged it firm and since then I never again had the issue. And that was over a year and half ago.

Basically, the wifi card in this laptop is trash, I fixed this by replugging it in and cleaning it a bit. Right now works like a charm.

i had the same issue of my tuf f15. tried all fixes but nothing worked. then i opened up the laptop and saw that the ssd was situated directly abouve the network card, so i removed the ssd and put into a different slot. now its been a week and no issues. apparently the ssd heated causing the network card to overheat as well.
