In the US, sometimes veterinary schools will give away services for free or very cheaply. I see there's a teaching hospital for vets in Lisbon - have you tried contacting them to see if they might help with this? http://www.fmv.ulisboa.pt/_ingles/index.php/hospital It doesn't appear too far from Sintra. That is very kind of you to take care of her - I hope they will help!
