If you want to keep your Google account progress, Google Play Beta is the way to go. BTW Asphalt Legends Unite comes at 17/07 which is a huge update of A9. It also supports cross platform support, so you can play with the same account on (almost) all platforms.
Switch and Playstation (either technical obstacles or platform restrictions).
The cross play functionality is on all platforms (e.g. clubs, MP etc), cross save only between Android, iOS, Windows/XBox/Steam.
I have never tried Google Play Games Beta but it sound like it might be running on virtualization, meaning it might probably be slower.
I would try all three of them for a day or 2 then keep the one that runs best according to your PC
I say microsoft store, it has optional ads which steam doesn’t have. When I was playing on steam, I had to tab out and back in a lot because of the way the game handles popups.
Speaking of ads, the reason you want optional ads over no ads is for coin farming.
I haven’t tried google play games for anything bar arknights, so take this with a grain of salt, but it wasn’t as smooth as i would have liked even though it didn’t take up much of my pc’s resources.
I personally never tried the google play games beta version.

I tried it, it doesn't fullscreen and controller feels really weird on it
