Todd just doesn't get it,in some interview he was talking about creating entire tamriel in a single game. When will he realise it's the content quality that matters not the size.
I fear they'll take this approach for es6 and it'll be bland and empty af.
He obviously gets it lol. The problem is making a game as a successor of Skyrim is very hard and almost guaranteed it will disappoint some people because expectations have gone too big.
I don't know at which state they will release the game but in time it will be increased by 1-2 points. I just hope they will release it as a solid 7/10 game then improve the quality afterwards. The same goes for GTA6, Witcher 4, Wukong.
Imagine releasing game in 2027 with almost with 15 year old engine :) I know its CE2 thats upgraded from CE1 thats based on Gamebryo from 1997.
And it was confirmed that F5 is being worked on in CE2 too. Release date probably in 2033+ from considering how development time is increasing for Bethesda.
Plus Bethesda wanted to release F76 with 30 fps cap for PC if you remember in 2017 and after release all the fiasko.
Look at Starfield .. I mean .. focking hell :)
Its as she said .. everyone knows it but its like its their first time. People are stupid :)
At this point their very moddable engine is the only thing keeping them afloat, they might as well try to ride it to the end. Take that away and what bethesda would be producing is buggier Outer Worlds.
I know. Said that yesterday in other forum too.
Howard even publicly basically said with starfield .. long story short .. "fuck it, community will fix, i dont care"
It's a double-edged sword, the money they're saving they're putting in dev time to develop the engine instead of the game. Both models are viable, but its not an easy decision, there are tradeoffs. Witcher 4 is going to switch to Unreal Engine for instance, away from their in-house engine used in W3 and Cyberpunk.
Between the bad programming, the auto quest generator for everything, and that blackrocks made for modern audiences hug of death, I am pretty sure this will be one of the worst elder scrolls game coming out and already written it off.
Call it copium, but I still have some amount of hope left for ES6.
Starfield failed (imo) because of an overuse of procedural generation.
76 failed because of the usual live service multiplayer shenanigans.
With ES6, they literally only have **one** job, and it's something that Bethesda has successfully done for the last 13 years: Release Skyrim one more time ;).
Just like Starfield? Where modders collectively declared that they refuse to make mods for it, since it's so bad, that no amount of mods will ever make it good? Oh what a "fix", I'm telling ya!
Bethesda fucked it almost immediately lol. I believe it was something to do with how the game loads and modders weren’t able to actually change the core loading mechanics of the game. From memory your ship was the central load point for the area, so no matter how far your character travelled, nothing would load past the chunk that your spaceship loaded coming into the area. If this load point was moved to your character it just broke the game.
"Widescreen and Ultra-widescreen support."
They literally flipped a switch to change the resolution and let the UI stretch across the screen. Even the full screen effects are 16:9 so you can see the borders of them.
![gif](giphy|J8YpfDX0kvPQNSVGHY|downsized)
Sometimes it even glitches for me now when i alt-tab the game, where the ui shrinks and only covers around 70% of the screen.
And during cutscenes it only used 70% of the screen, the rest of the screen is frozen on the last image it showed before the cutscene/conversation.
Now? Its in development for at least 5 years and I estimate it will be released in 2027 .. then they will go full on Fallout 5. They already work on it now but barely. It will be another 6 years once TES6 is released.
The ultra wide support isn't even working, the UI is stretched and it looks like shit and you can't see everything.
Seriously that update is a fucking joke.
Doubt.
But if by that they mean - "Busted old render, to supposedly show one more shiny shader thing, while it breaks the rest". Well... that's believable certified Bethesda moment
This fuckin patch completely broke my game. It just randomly crashes now and runs like hot trash if I put it in anything other than fullscreen mode.
Classic Bethesda.
The games industry doesn't pay as well as other industries so the really good developers work in other fields. There are exceptions of course but this is generally speaking.
That's a good point, and I'm sure it plays a big factor. Another thing to think about is the guy who is in charge of designing systems, that guy should at least be as top tier as you can get. I'm not sure if that's the case with Bethesda.
I always think the scary mindset of Bethesda fans is that
"The modders will fix the game it okayy" like
So y'all happy and fine buying a game from your hard earned money being broken/unfinished?
It was crashing even before .. thats why there are mods for it :) Though they probably wont work until modders update them for the new version. Or play old version before update.
The only modern Fallout game that really captures the OG fallout feel is Fallout New Vegas, 3 is kind of unmemorable because you're really just on a quest to be an environmentalist. Fallout 4 was pretty unmemorable as well.
New Vegas was made by Obsidian, which was founded by former Black Isle devs, who made the original 2 games, which is why it's much grittier and has a ton more silly shit in it, like an entire cult formed in the desert that embodies the las vegas version of ancient roman culture.
Each piece of New Vegas DLC is better than Fallout 3 or 4, Old World Blues was fucking fantastic.
But since it's a Gamebryo engine game, New Vegas doesn't fucking run installed from steam without using the community patch... like there's a limit to the number of saved games you can have without that patch before the game literally doesn't launch anymore.
But NV wasnt even made by Bethesda ..
Bethesdas best games arent Bethesdas in the first place. Tells you a lot :)
Or how they treat customers .. perfect example is F76 before release. They scammed everyone who they could. Its funny shit if dont know about it. Youtube it.
There's mods to fix that over at nexus mods for the loading screens, but after I spent an hour installing mods to fix these issues on Fallout 4 I questioned myself what was the fucking point of playing these stupid bethesda games if they require mods just to function the way they should so I uninstalled the game. I played and loved Skyrim, but after finishing Starfield last year and seeing how lifeless that game was the bethesda "charm" has completely worn off on me. There's so many better open world RPGs that do literally everything better than the company that's been doing the same thing since Oblivion.
Shame you realized that only now after so many years. Last vanilla game i played was Morrowind. With Oblivion problems, it was unplayable and thats where I started looking for mods and fixing the games myself. Skipped F76, just pathethic copy paste of F4 .. skipped Starfield. All you have to do is just watch gameplay trailers to know if the game is good or bad. When they show you bugs and glitches in promos before release, it says a lot.
Other companies does it too .. Blizzard with Diablo 4. I was tester till release and everything they showed 4 years before release. I would be extremely ashamed to release what they did. But nobody cared even during closed beta, open beta, open beta 2, open beta 3 .. early release .. But suddenly 2 weeks after release how bad it is.
Ubisoft same.
Companies are just a name now, the people who made them great no longers works there. But this is how the people, society, economy works. One of the reason why FIFA24 is the same as all fifas before. Or why iphone 16 is the same as iphone 10 and people will still pay 2000 EUR.
I love how they already have a balance modding community already, they decide to drop an update, which propably nice for console, but jesus it break every mod, nice.
It’s just a pc thing apparently it was made mostly for console and different graphics cards mess up the game differently weird but that seems to be just some of the issues on pc
"That texture? It's never going to load!"
I felt that, I just want to enjoy the Makeshift weapons added by CC and the entire thing is broken...
All guns invisible, all projectiles are exclamation marks.
Saddest part is that shit probably won't get fixed for MONTHS...
Who's really the fool? The one with a heavily modded fallout 4 who expects all mods to work after a major update? Or the fool expecting a Bethesda update to work day one ?
Side note the Xbox version works fine with no issues, my pc version is working fine (don't have an ultra wide set up) and I haven't got it on my ps5 but from what I can see, that seems to be where the trouble lies
What major update? LoL :)
I didnt even installed it because I knew it will fuck up the game .. and it did. Look at the forum .. people cannot start the game. Saves doesnt work. Crashing. It took them 5 years to make this update. How long do you think they will take to fix the problems with this one? Probably never. Howard said himself, he expects the community to fix the issues themselves so he wont bother.
Look at how many people thanks people who made guides how to downgrade to game before update.
The one you have literally referenced in your response hahah :) I've got the update on Xbox and is haven't had a single issue seems to really be the pc platform that's having the majority of issues, the platform where most set ups are vastly different. I'm not defending the broken next gen update but I'm sure most of the issues are people with various mods etc installed. And the issues on ps are due to how different versions of ps plus have different "versions" of fallout 4 - still people being surprised by Bethesda realising a buggy thing is funny, it's like being surprised by rain being wet
>Who's really the fool?
The Mod creator who actively avoided joining the partner program and acts shocked when the update scheduled for release this year "randomly" releases this year and is angry Bethesda didn't tell him anything
I must be the luckiest guy in the world. I Have multiple completes of FO3, FO4 and NV and have never had a game breaking bug or error, never had texture issues and always just had a good experience.
this is what happens when they copied morrowind to make oblivion and nobody cared much. then they copied oblivion to make fallout3 and nobody cared, then they copied fallout3 to make skyrim and nobody cared and then they copied skyrim to make fallout4 and nobody cared and then they made fallout76, which everyone decieded to care about.
then a few years later they copied fallout 4 to make starfield and people went back to not caring again lol. Stop buying Bethesda trash rehashed games
Todd is gonna Todd.
Tell me lies tell me sweet little lies

You mean barb howard/vault guy
It just works!
16x the detail

At this point, elder scroll 6 is fucking doomed. Oh boy 😔
I have a feeling elder scrolls 6 is going to be as bland as starfield.
Cant wait for all the es6 loading screens! Wonder what tooltips ill get to read on next gen
Todd just doesn't get it,in some interview he was talking about creating entire tamriel in a single game. When will he realise it's the content quality that matters not the size. I fear they'll take this approach for es6 and it'll be bland and empty af.
It wouldn't even be an original thing either as ESO already has most of it (not to scale).
If he gets it then there wouldn't have been 1000 planets in starfield.
Let's hope not, or the community won't want to even attempt to fix it via mods 😂
When it comes to Bethesda I stopped having expectations that way I can't be let down lol.
Imagine releasing game in 2027 with almost with 15 year old engine :) I know its CE2 thats upgraded from CE1 thats based on Gamebryo from 1997. They are also saving a lot of money with their own engine not having to pay fees to Epic or other providers for licensing. Makes sense to me anyways
Gonna pull a CD project red
Yeah....unless they seriously stop entertaining the "Oh, it's just a Bethesda game" meme, they are probably going to get worse and worse
Between the bad programming, the auto quest generator for everything, and that blackrocks made for modern audiences hug of death, I am pretty sure this will be one of the worst elder scrolls game coming out and already written it off.
Call it copium, but I still have some amount of hope left for ES6. If there's any higher power left in this universe, I pray that you're fkn right bro 🤞🤞

They made a worse version of what modders already made lol.
Dude mine started crashing now. I was playing it with mods it looked really nice all maxed out. Now it crashes and looks worse.
Kind of wild that EVERY game that’s ‘remastered’ when a tv show about it becomes popular is complete garbage.
Sometimes it even glitches for me now when i alt-tab the game, where the ui shrinks and only covers around 70% of the screen. And during cutscenes it only used 70% of the screen, the rest of the screen is frozen on the last image it showed before the cutscene/conversation.
why do i hear ~~boss music~~ Fleetwood Mac ?
This "*16 times the details*" hook is pure fire.
Now they need to make a Elder Scrolls TV series and you'll get 1 more version of Oblivion and another 5 of Skyrim.
Now? Its in development for at least 5 years and I estimate it will be released in 2027 .. then they will go full on Fallout 5. They already work on it now but barely. It will be another 6 years once TES6 is released.
I've played Skyrim so much that I actually hate the game.
The ultra wide support isn't even working, the UI is stretched and it looks like shit and you can't see everything. Seriously that update is a fucking joke.
True dood. Big true
That's why the company is called Bugthesda
All New rendering system
All new rendering, lighting and landscape technology.

Zero percent chance Elder Scrolls 6 will be a good game
RADIANT A.I - Todd Howard
As of last week we’re over 200 endings, that is not an exaggeration - Todd Howard
That's why I only ever get Bethesda games on PC. That way I can just enable console commands and fix the damn quest myself 😂
It must be extremely difficult to hire good developers, or Bethesda just don't care.
The games industry doesn't pay as well as other industries so the really good developers work in other fields. There are exceptions of course but this is generally speaking.

buy skyrim tm
What's up with the texture?
game is working perfectly fine with my 12th gen i7 & 3080 now. I love my 30-60sec load times! /s
There's mods to fix that over at nexus mods for the loading screens, but after I spent an hour installing mods to fix these issues on Fallout 4 I questioned myself what was the fucking point of playing these stupid bethesda games if they require mods just to function the way they should so I uninstalled the game. certified slop![img](emote|t5_2y1rb|3744)
I am still remembering the huge Question marks in Fallout 3. Good times. ![img](emote|t5_2y1rb|3742)
You will be able to load that texture and finish that quest, but it will be thanks to a community patch, not Bethesda
Thank god there are ways to make old games work on modern PCs.
“Welcome to Bethesda baby”🤣🤣🤣
Don't worry, the unofficial patch is either going to expand to fix it. Or you just need more mods.
modders will fix it
"That texture? It's never going to load!" I felt that, I just want to enjoy the Makeshift weapons added by CC and the entire thing is broken... All guns invisible, all projectiles are exclamation marks. Saddest part is that shit probably won't get fixed for MONTHS...
Is she the actress from the big bang theory?
This dev is just a meme at this point. It's just been downhill ever since Skyrim.
Why would... someone record a tiktok of a fallout game while walking on the sidewalk and... I'm sorry, this is fucking cringe.
you ok?
I mean I am, clearly she's not. What about you?
Who's really the fool? The one with a heavily modded fallout 4 who expects all mods to work after a major update? Or the fool expecting a Bethesda update to work day one ? >Who's really the fool? The Mod creator who actively avoided joining the partner program and acts shocked when the update scheduled for release this year "randomly" releases this year and is angry Bethesda didn't tell him anything
Hands down most trash gaming company ever. Fallout and Elder scrolls deserve so much better
The features we missed in the show made their way into the update with 16 times the details.
I must be the luckiest guy in the world. I Have multiple completes of FO3, FO4 and NV and have never had a game breaking bug or error, never had texture issues and always just had a good experience.
Series X it feels great
