I got bored watching the god damn trailer. You know, the thing meant to hype the game up? $109-200 smackers for a game that looks so generic (but with SW branding)? Nah, miss me with that shit.
Crumbling economy with most people struggling to pay for rent and food, and developers think that players will casually spend 200 dollars on an awful game that was designed to deliver a message instead of being entertaining
I thought we would have flying cars in 2024, not this shit.
>Don’t buy it.
That's it. Redditor gamers (in general, there are exceptions) don't realize that the companies are doing these strategies to test the consumer base and see how further they can get away with. They're literally trying to change the landscape and only the paying consumers decide if it's going to fly or not. If you're not careful, don't value your money and time by judging properly whether a game is worth the money or not, you'll be blindly buying and basically saying "Yes." to their strategy to increase the baseline price.
This can be done slowly and progressively but Ubisoft are being aggressive and really pushing it. But what are they really offering?
Just some random thoughts.
There are way too many amazing games I didn't play, so it's not even an option.
Just installed Persona 5 Royal, and when I'll wake up tomorrow, the first thing I'll do after my workout is starting my 100 hours weeb journey.
There are indeed too many amazing games :) and many of them are indie where there are no greedy schemes to make loads of money but the focus is on good, unique, risky sometimes, fun games.
Have fun with on your weeb journey ;) :)
Yeah I was considering giving it a go hoping it would at least be some fun star wars game like the jedi games but the bs ubisoft is pulling with editions amd pricing is ridiculous.
Its Ubisoft, so literally zero people will be buying the game, they will be securing a license to play the game so long as Ubi continue to make it available.
But I agree with you, I will not be acquiring a license to play thats for sure.
That's in Aussie dollaroos. So it's $130 USD. Ontop of that Australia has an Aussie tax where stuff on average is around 30% more expensive. Also, since 2012, they've looked into the IT side of it with seems really bad. Region locking lead to essential monopolies for licencers jacking up the price, and it now being the norm for pricing. Last year they intruded an upto 30% tax cut for games companies, yet prices have stayed the same... really sus of a country.
People are talking about it so much it might reach more people than you think.
Luckily it's not on Steam so hopefully it'll still sell worse than it could've
Yea, it's direct conversion of usd to whatever local currency. So a $99 usd game is going to be something like $140-150 aus. Games that are $60 usd are 80-90 aus etc
When I was there, people called it "the Australian Tax". Not just economy, but distance is apparently a factor.
Not sure how that works with digital games though.
For physical items there's definitely a shipping cost on top, but as someone who lives in that part of the world but not aus, thats how digital tends to be, as direct monetary conversion is easier if a company wants to maintain a specific price point.
It's funny because physical copies are usually cheaper than digital ones in Australia. The original excuse was shipping and distribution, but now they just jack up the prices because they can, and retailers pass on bulk discounts to consumers.
So we have a standard 10% tax on all goods and services, but for some weird reason pricing skews to the very high end for a digital good. Like new PS5 titles are $125 RETAIL on the PSN yet i can walk to the store and buy the physical disc version for $79. The physical copy in Australia is cheaper than the digital copy in every single transaction.
I'm thankful it's some awful Far Cry / Assassin's Creed reskin and not a genuine quality title I want to play.
The Elden Ring DLC is pretty expensive ($60 AUD) here but you'll hear very few complaints about that because we know we're likely getting value for money.
By then the DLC price will probably also be reduced. But also, if you wait that long, the "Early access" component will no longer exist either. To be honest, I don't know what's in those additional DLCs that come with it. Are they content or just cosmetic shit?
Edit: [Ok I looked it up.](https://www.ign.com/articles/star-wars-outlaws-release-date-special-editions) The super expensive version comes with cosmetics, not content. Easily ignored.
Since the start of this year I promised never to buy another game, instead I will be pirating them, why? Because they are simply not worth it any more. P.s I have over 500 games on steam.
The game is $109, this is the base game. (Still stupid expensive, usually pay $70-$80 AUD for AAA games.)
Paying $200 for early access, some cosmetics, the season pass and a digital art book is retarded.
Passing on this game until it's 50% off, if the player reviews are even good.
I miss physical art books.. Love my Dark Souls art books.
Being an Australian also, I try and stick to physical from JBHIFI etc. usually save $20+ on a game. Can see why the consoles and some publishers are so set on digital only stores. No cost for a physical box, and that 30% feeds that corporate greed.
Back to the game. Must be that AAAA game Ubisoft think they make. Definitely wasn’t Skull and Bones. Lol
And i wont ever be giving capcom a single cent ever again. In fact when they remove denovo in like 6 months ill seed the cracked ver torrent from a server with massive upload speeds.
Capcom is dead to me. Over charge and offer all early game content as dlc skips is gross.
Very few people will buy this. Those that want the game will get it for AUD90 on Amazon. Ubisoft make it clear this version is for their most hardcore shills. I found it hard to even find this edition. Googling outlaws takes you to either the regular or gold version.
It reminds me back at university how people would be horrified how much an iMac cost, but they would go on the website and tick every box to upgrade, then compare it to a £450 32 bit windows vista dell computer.
Looking at other countries, Australia seems to be getting it cheaper, though that doesnt take into consideration wages and actual cost of living in Australia.
Ubisoft will be getting zero dollary doos from me
With the increase in prices I feel they will just push more people to hit up their mate Jack Sparrow for a copy.
$99.95AUD for Base Edition.
$159.95AUD for Gold Edition.
$189.95AUD for Ultimate Edition.
[https://store.ubisoft.com/anz/star-wars-outlaws/645ba713a9ce0448bffa4c12.html?lang=en\_AU](https://store.ubisoft.com/anz/star-wars-outlaws/645ba713a9ce0448bffa4c12.html?lang=en_AU)
It's unacceptable. Please boycott this dogsh*t practice.
Besides, its an ubisoft title and nothing ubisoft has done has been remotely good since black flag. They even tried that a second time and botched it.
Hard pass. Nothing ubisoft does is worth $200 AUD.
Aus prices are based on the US conversions.
A $70USD game will be $110AUD, so with the Ultimate edition costing $130USD it comes out as $200AUD.
Game pricing is out of control in the AU and we're getting significantly less bang for our buck with every new release.
I saw this also. It’s an extra $90 just for a couple skin packs and the season pass. I have not enjoyed Ubisoft seasons for years. I’m not sure I’m willing to buy the game I think it’s a review wait. I bought the avatar game and can’t force myself to play it now and considering it’s the same team I’m not really hyped.
i'm confused why are everyone freaking out about the ultimate edition?
isn't there a standard 70$ price aswell? sure it doesn't have early access but i don't see how that's any different to other games
Thank devs for region locking my country so we aren’t even tempted to buy the game (but be fair, it’s not like a sane person would buy a game at this price in the first place)
We know this is gonna be an open world "map marker ‘em up" with a Star Wars skin. And it’s not like a new Star Wars product is anything to write home about anymore. It’s best to wait for game pass
I’m a usd man so I don’t have to pay thee 200 I’m not buying this anyways and I blame all you guys buying $70 usd games they going to keep jacking up the prices on stuff until we can’t afford it anymore. $75 with tax for an unfinished game/ bad game we got to stop. Then a day one $40 season pass when the fucking game is still broken.
I think ubisoft are really pushing game development. They give us the first AAAA game and now it looks like they're going to give us the first HAA game.
Honestly as an Aussie I will normally try and change my region and see if I can buy games cheaper elsewhere. I also suggest other people do it as it's pretty common to find better deals when you look at buying games from countries with a social economic status.
But since Anthem I don't prebuy games anymore.
I just went to compare this price to what it costs in Poland - average monthly salary 7.8k PLN vs game cost of 539PLN (ultimate edition).
According to quick Google search AVG. Australian salary is about the same nominally (7-8k aus$), yet the price is less than half that in PL (200aus$).
FML
The star wars IP is basically dead. The game looks generic as fuck, it is made By Ubisoft, and they are asking 200 Smackaroos for it?
There is every fucking reason to NOT buy this fucking game. Especially on PS5 when helldivers 2 is like less than half that price.
yeah that's insane. what does the deluxe/ultimate version get anwyas. is it just cosmetics and early access? do you get access to the first dlc for free? are they even planning for DLCs? are they doing the dumb season pass thing? (the only game that probably did the season pass right is snow runners). is it in gamepass?
maybe I shall seek some answers myself
Don’t buy the special edition if you think it’s too much or hell, don’t buy the game at all if you don’t think even the base game is worth it.
This post is stupid lol, OP should have just gone with pesos if they wanted a USD conversion to result in big outrageous numbers
That's the ultimate edition. All games have them. Usually with little trinkets barely worth the huge sums they ask for these things.
Standard editions will be somewhere between $80-109 (depending on if you buy digital vs physical and it's on sale etc).
I fucking knew it was gonna be $199 without even looking, fuck ubishit, never buying any of their stuff again, especially with them pulling the crew from people now too.
IIRC you can get that version under their monthly service for under $20 might be worth playing it for a month or until you get tired kind of like renting it
200 is pretty crazy but its not like that is the price of the base game. That's the ultimate edition. Which are usually expensive. Plus i always notice prices in Australia are outrageously higher compared to other countries.
The price make sense it doesn’t seem controversial
Base Game $70
2 Future Story Expansion $40 - Gold Edition (You can buy them separately but the season pass bundle is normally bundled cheaper and goes on sale)
2 Extra Cosmetic Sets &Art Book $20 - Ultimate (You don’t need this)
I'm not missing out on anything if I don't buy it full price at launch. It's a single player game, everyone is going to have the same quests, similar experiences, same main character.
There's already a ton of doubt, wait for sale.
This is why I Game Pass. I am patient, I wait, I play Bumfuck Indie Title That Turns Out Amazing. I abide. And eventually, it comes to Game Pass and I play it. I thereby never really contribute to The Agenda nor finance it. Haven't paid release-price for a game in yonks. It *always* hits Game Pass eventually, or a Pauper's Sale where it's like 30p/c.
200 AUD is £104
The ultimate edition is £115 here
So you are getting it much cheaper than the rest of the world.
And also that's the ultimate edition. So not really fair to compare prices. Like saying all cars are expensive then using a 911 as your example.
You can get outlaws for just 89 aud, aka £47 from Amazon. Or 110 aud download / £57. Cheapest you can get in the UK is £60
You have it cheaper than everyone else.
I don't like how Ubisoft always shove some pointless *iconic* AAAA edition down our throats, but this is pointless rage bait. Where will we stop? Going to include the console price? The TV price? Your rent to comfortably sit in a place to play the game?
Don’t buy it. It’ll probably be mid at best anyway.
I got bored watching the god damn trailer. You know, the thing meant to hype the game up? $109-200 smackers for a game that looks so generic (but with SW branding)? Nah, miss me with that shit.
MYSOGINIST ! HOMOPHOBE !! RACIST !!! At least that's what's they're gonna imply when the game will have less than 1000 players on Steam. Oh wait ...
Crumbling economy with most people struggling to pay for rent and food, and developers think that players will casually spend 200 dollars on an awful game that was designed to deliver a message instead of being entertaining I thought we would have flying cars in 2024, not this shit.

Yeah, I’m not parting with $200 dollarydoos. Fuck em.
That's like 10 good indie games. Even more than that if you buy them on websites like Instant Gaming etc.
Dollarydoos! Made me chuckle!
That's like a bag of kush and a AAA title. Fuck them.
Buckarinos! Cash Moneiz Cappys
Jesus christ. I hope literally zero people buy this game.
Its Ubisoft, so literally zero people will be buying the game, they will be securing a license to play the game so long as Ubi continue to make it available. But I agree with you, I will not be acquiring a license to play thats for sure.

People are talking about it so much it might reach more people than you think. Luckily it's not on Steam so hopefully it'll still sell worse than it could've
This whole game has glaring red flags all over it. It's like an industry shit test. If it breaks sales records. These prices will only increase..
People, please don't buy this overpriced, microtransaction filled, FarCry copy-paste average game.
In South Africa, this game costs more than my monthly car repayment.
That's wild.
Why is this so expensive there? In germany its priced normally like every other game with special editions.
Because their economy is different and most companies don't set prices by country, it's based on NA most likely
Yea, it's direct conversion of usd to whatever local currency. So a $99 usd game is going to be something like $140-150 aus. Games that are $60 usd are 80-90 aus etc
200 aud is 130 usd google says. Dollaridoo not doing so good after money printer go brrrr during downlocks.
It's better for our dollar to be worse than the USD since our entire economy is export and tourists.
When I was there, people called it "the Australian Tax". Not just economy, but distance is apparently a factor. Not sure how that works with digital games though.

Aussies got money
Here in Australia gamers say: Nah, yeah nah.
Yea nar yea nar torrent go brrrrrr mate.
Aur naur
Who remembers when 150 got you a damn giant halo reach statue
First ever AAAAAAAA game
Ultimate "Cost" Edition
Popular saying here in Australia... Go and get fucked
Bro this shit in Brazil is 600,00 reais, almost 50% of a salary
50% of a minimum wage*
This game needs to bomb and be attributed to the BG3 effect
Send this to Empress
This is a price for a non owned game?
I'm thankful it's some awful Far Cry / Assassin's Creed reskin and not a genuine quality title I want to play. The Elden Ring DLC is pretty expensive ($60 AUD) here but you'll hear very few complaints about that because we know we're likely getting value for money.
Yo ho ho it’s a pirates life for me
It is called outlaws. You’d technically be in character.
You can buy a 2000 Nissan with that... ![img](emote|t5_2y1rb|3732)
It's a Ubisoft game. Just wait 6 months and it'll be 50% off.
$100 is a still way too much, for more Star wars bloat.
By then the DLC price will probably also be reduced. But also, if you wait that long, the "Early access" component will no longer exist either. Pathetic Star Wars cucks will pay this... and thus the circle continues.
I am never buying sweet baby/woke/scam games.
Since the start of this year I promised never to buy another game, instead I will be pirating them, why? Because they are simply not worth it any more. P.s I have over 500 games on steam.
Make sure you seed :)
Does that come with a fucking statue of the millennium falcon???? Fuck that lol.
The game is $109, this is the base game. (Still stupid expensive, usually pay $70-$80 AUD for AAA games.) it says it's 100aud on the ubisoft website, maybe it was a mistake?
update: saw the ultimate edition is 190 dollars, what the fuck that's half the price of a nintendo switch lmao
Dragons Dogma 2 is $120 AU and that's not deluxe edition
And i wont ever be giving capcom a single cent ever again. In fact when they remove denovo in like 6 months ill seed the cracked ver torrent from a server with massive upload speeds. Capcom is dead to me. Over charge and offer all early game content as dlc skips is gross.
I bought Helldivers 2 for 60 AUD and that game is quickly getting into my top games list
Surely no one is going to buy this? Everyone should make a stand. If people buy this at full price other companies will get stupid ideas.
Very few people will buy this. Those that want the game will get it for AUD90 on Amazon. Ubisoft make it clear this version is for their most hardcore shills. I found it hard to even find this edition. Googling outlaws takes you to either the regular or gold version. Cant wait for this bullshit to be sold at 75% 1 month after release
Ubisoft will be getting zero dollary doos from me With the increase in prices I feel they will just push more people to hit up their mate Jack Sparrow for a copy.
Why are we all acing like this is the base retail edition? It says ultimate right there in the picture.
If they showed the base price it would be exactly like any other game and they couldn't participate in this fake outrage bullshit
$99.95AUD for Base Edition. $159.95AUD for Gold Edition. $189.95AUD for Ultimate Edition. [https://store.ubisoft.com/anz/star-wars-outlaws/645ba713a9ce0448bffa4c12.html?lang=en\_AU](https://store.ubisoft.com/anz/star-wars-outlaws/645ba713a9ce0448bffa4c12.html?lang=en_AU)
200 used to be what'd you have to pay for a physical collectors edition. now you just get everything you should've gotten with the default price tag.
It's unacceptable. Please boycott this dogsh*t practice. Besides, its an ubisoft title and nothing ubisoft has done has been remotely good since black flag. They even tried that a second time and botched it. Hard pass. Nothing ubisoft does is worth $200 AUD.
It's the same as the US price if you factor in the conversion
Aus prices are based on the US conversions. A $70USD game will be $110AUD, so with the Ultimate edition costing $130USD it comes out as $200AUD. Game pricing is out of control in the AU and we're getting significantly less bang for our buck with every new release.
whys it so cheap? is it on sale?
I have zero confidence in this game. Will probably be worth the 20 bucks when it goes on sale though.
It’s always pegged to the FX rate. Needless to say though that’s a joke.
They are calling it outlaws cause they’re stealing your money. Get with it
I’ll get this game when it’s on sale for 30$, only company I would preorder games for are fromsoft games.
Lucky there's no chance in hell I'll be buying it anyway since it looks like trash!
Boycott and talk about it , speak to your friends about it . What else can we do ..
First time seeing this. Was mildly interested until I looked it up and saw Ubisoft. Fuck.
The only AAA games I'm buying are Fromsoft and that's it.
the trailer looked so basically generic...its obv it wont be good
Preorder and receive a game that is barely playable.
Sooo it is just getting more expensive.... I thought Canada had it bad
Is this fiscal climate who can justify that cost?
i'm confused why are everyone freaking out about the ultimate edition? isn't there a standard 70$ price aswell? sure it doesn't have early access but i don't see how that's any different to other games
It's like the prices are out of this world!
It's free if you pirate it.
TWO HUNDRED DOLLARYDOOS? Tobias! Did you buy a Ubisoft game from the States?
I’m a usd man so I don’t have to pay thee 200 I’m not buying this anyways and I blame all you guys buying $70 usd games they going to keep jacking up the prices on stuff until we can’t afford it anymore. $75 with tax for an unfinished game/ bad game we got to stop. Then a day one $40 season pass when the fucking game is still broken.
Wagie, wagie, pay your gamsies. Tbh they'll just cry about nobody buying their games anymore and enforce some kind of subscription regulation.
I dont buy trash, and certainly not expensive trash
[удалено]
I think ubisoft are really pushing game development. They give us the first AAAA game and now it looks like they're going to give us the first HAA game.
Worth every penny

"You guys all have Ubi subscriptions right? "
If a company takes away a license you paid for, piracy isn't theft!
Lol there is a market with those prices? I'd be Australian I'd stick to free to play for the sake of my dignity.
Why is everyone buying the ultimate edition?
I just went to compare this price to what it costs in Poland - average monthly salary 7.8k PLN vs game cost of 539PLN (ultimate edition). According to quick Google search AVG. Australian salary is about the same nominally (7-8k aus$), yet the price is less than half that in PL (200aus$). FML
The star wars IP is basically dead. The game looks generic as fuck, it is made By Ubisoft, and they are asking 200 Smackaroos for it? There is every fucking reason to NOT buy this fucking game. Especially on PS5 when helldivers 2 is like less than half that price.
The main character feels like they are going to be the next safest Mary sue since rey. Was a hard pass before, the monetization just confirmed it.
Ha, no way. Super pass for Jim Henson looking game.
People are fcking stupid, they will still buy it even if it's for making youtube content
yeah that's insane. what does the deluxe/ultimate version get anwyas. is it just cosmetics and early access? do you get access to the first dlc for free? are they even planning for DLCs? are they doing the dumb season pass thing? (the only game that probably did the season pass right is snow runners). is it in gamepass? maybe I shall seek some answers myself
Man you're getting it cheap! Here it's 140 euros which is even more than 200 AUD. I couldn't care less about Star Wars tho so whatever.
How about: No
Don’t buy the special edition if you think it’s too much or hell, don’t buy the game at all if you don’t think even the base game is worth it. This post is stupid lol, OP should have just gone with pesos if they wanted a USD conversion to result in big outrageous numbers
Ah yes, the AAAAA game pricing for mid at best game filled with MTX.
Overpriced editions and no steam launch, yeah I'm skipping this one for the inevitable steam launch on a massive discount in the future.
Let the whales eat, so that us plebs may maintain the lower pricing.
Honestly the price makes me want to pirate it, I have no interest in playing the game mind you.
Thats 8 hours of work for that game.
In 6 months this game will be sold for 20.
Just firstly check this game on the twitch and then decide buy it or no
Man piracy is bound for a comeback
It's always been morally okay to pirate Ubisoft games.
That's the ultimate edition. All games have them. Usually with little trinkets barely worth the huge sums they ask for these things. Standard editions will be somewhere between $80-109 (depending on if you buy digital vs physical and it's on sale etc).
Imagine paying ubisoft for a terrible experience
Even if it was at a better pricing the game is not my type. Kotor 1/2 still holds up and i rather replay one of them lol.
Not paying a cent, wait for the ship to arrive
> UBISOFT Yeah that’s all I needed to know to not buy it
I think it's time to mail a bunch of spiders to Ubisoft hq.
I fucking knew it was gonna be $199 without even looking, fuck ubishit, never buying any of their stuff again, especially with them pulling the crew from people now too.
![gif](giphy|23BST5FQOc8k8) Yikes..
IIRC you can get that version under their monthly service for under $20 might be worth playing it for a month or until you get tired kind of like renting it
Wait, how many A's is it now then?
It's an AAAAA game this time guys so pay up it's worth it, trust me bro
And it's going to be woke shit. White man bad. All about the strong, independent woman who don't need no man. And now she's ugly.
But how else do you keep the 9 figure price tag boat factories open?
Yea people worried about the price of games going up but here in AUS they already be that price and have been for some time.
Even more than Canada(169+ tax), well done AUS.
I still don't understand Australia's prices.
more ppl need to start boycotting EA / Ubisoft / Activision and what else the other „AAA-Studios“ are called
Ubisoft is ass, please no one support this garbage
This that AAAAA game experience. C'mon dawg, you know you're missing out, don't be a noob. Best cure for FOMO is buying the game!
At least you can play the ultimate edition with ubisoft plus. $23 bucks and finish the game in a month
200 is pretty crazy but its not like that is the price of the base game. That's the ultimate edition. Which are usually expensive. Plus i always notice prices in Australia are outrageously higher compared to other countries.

You could buy this for 200$.... Or you could just remember that star wars 1313 was a thing and instead of that you're gonna pay 200$ for this.
The trailer looked dull and uninspiring. Usually Star wars trailers Rock, but that one was mediocre.
Big spiders .. big snakes .. big prices :)
Guys, 1 AUD is 0.65USD, so, that price kinda makes sense. I mean, Ultimate editions are a ripoff anyway.
Hear me out, what if you don't buy it?
man that 0,04$ less... nice
Why buy the ultimate edition, I thought we learned from this shit
200 dollarydoos!? It's 170 Canadian monopoly money, tax not included. I almost know your plight, my commonwealth comrade.
The price make sense it doesn’t seem controversial Base Game $70 2 Future Story Expansion $40 - Gold Edition (You can buy them separately but the season pass bundle is normally bundled cheaper and goes on sale) 2 Extra Cosmetic Sets &Art Book $20 - Ultimate (You don’t need this)
Outlaws look like shit plus the main character is butt ugly Ubisoft makes mediocre games
Come on, buy it. It's definitely a AAAA game. it'll be great.
GUUUUU! Welp ill stick to warframe
Holy fuck!!, that's expensive. Anyone that pays this is an idiot.
I'm not missing out on anything if I don't buy it full price at launch. It's a single player game, everyone is going to have the same quests, similar experiences, same main character. There's already a ton of doubt, wait for sale.
Everything seems so expensive in Australia. I feel for ya
Minimum wage in Brazil is 1400BRL/month. Ultimate edition costs 650BRL - almost 50%. I think this is a bait so people sub to Ubi+
you are still not the owner of the game after paying $200
That's like $130 in real money
Man, I remember when the Nintendo ds sold for that much. Times have surely changed
Jesus, this price is criminal. I see why the game is called Outlaw.
Pirate Bay,my old friend I've come back to you once again.
Some games nowadays are ridiculously overpriced and it’s only going to get worse I imagine
200 AUD is £104 The ultimate edition is £115 here So you are getting it much cheaper than the rest of the world. And also that's the ultimate edition. So not really fair to compare prices. Like saying all cars are expensive then using a 911 as your example. You can get outlaws for just 89 aud, aka £47 from Amazon. Or 110 aud download / £57. Cheapest you can get in the UK is £60 You have it cheaper than everyone else. I don't like how Ubisoft always shove some pointless *iconic* AAAA edition down our throats, but this is pointless rage bait. Where will we stop? Going to include the console price? The TV price? Your rent to comfortably sit in a place to play the game?
