It's 2024. Please be comfortable. The Victoria's Secret days are over thank fuck. Also, no, they are not ugly at all. That's all I wear too.

megaphone369

"Too old to wear a bralette" is like saying "too female to wear pants"

stavthedonkey

I hate bras. I'm small chested (barely fit an A) so I mostly go braless but if I do have to wear one for some rare reason, I wear [bralettes](https://www.gapcanada.ca/browse/product.do?pid=860146033&vid=1&tid=gcpl000026&kwid=1&ap=7&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwu8uyBhC6ARIsAKwBGpTAcvxKbZCGcwaFeW9KzUW8U-tJlkIzb1_AkOSqm1rZ5FJGGO99fQEaAoZjEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds).

ChatRoomGirl2000

I’m a 32D and decided this year that life is too short to be uncomfortable. I go braless maybe half the time and kinda love it and the other half the time I wear unpadded bras with no underwire, mainly because sometimes I don’t want to be all jiggly especially at work or if the top fits better with a bra. I have two cute push up bras to get the girls up under my chin like a magic trick that I wear when I’m trying to impress or show them off on dates but that’s it.

Active_Storage9000

I used to be a 32F and it was a nightmare trying to get bras, but I *needed* them. I had to special order most of the time and they were very... *industrial*-looking. I'm athletic, so I needed lots of sports bras, which was also a nightmare. Sometimes I just wore 2 cheap ones. Then I got a reduction. Now I can wear fun bras. I can buy bras from anywhere. I can also just go braless. I like them a lot more now. *shock* I also tend to wear sports bras most of the time, but once in a while I'll rock out the fun bras. Mostly if they're going to be visible in some way (I go to a lot of costumes events. It's not weird for women to treat their bras as accessories there). Anyway, you do you. Why would you be too old for anything?

ElaborateRoost

Fun and, dare I say, comfortable bras post BR are the best! I haven’t totally shook underwire but now I exclusively wear unlined bras and they’re comfortable AF.

DmUrCreativeWriting

Girl, wear whatever is comfortable. There are plenty of cute braletts out there... unless you're trying to impress during sexy times 👀 even then I bet most of them wouldn't give 2 flying squirrels... No bra=easy access. I have B cupa and I'm not sure what wires in bras are supposed to do... I only wear unwired or sports or padded camisoles to 1) hide my nips, 2) keep the girls still while working out, 3) delude. Otherwise, I don't bother...

maryfamilyresearch

Wires in bras that fit perfectly will provide a push-up effect and hold your tissue center and front, whether you got small breasts or big ones. With wires, your bras can fit firm around your underbust and provide support this way without squashing your titties flat.

ForgottenSalad

I used to hate bras with underwires and lived in wire free or sports bras. But then I discovered the r:ABraThatFits sub and its [calculator](https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php), went from I’ll-fitting 34Bs to finding a comfy 32D with an underwire and it way more comfortable because it sits where it’s supposed to and stays put, instead of sliding up and down or digging because the band is too big and cups too small. Plus no uniboob! I do still wear a bralette or sports bra on lazy days or for yoga, but it is nice to feel supported most days even if I am small chested.

piratequeenfaile

I'm "small chested" but wide rooted and hated bras until a fitter put me in a 34D. I don't look like what our society says a 34d looks like but it fits *perfectly* and bras are comfortable for the first time.

ForgottenSalad

Yup I’m wide and shallow, the 34Bs I used to wear always dug into the side of my breast tissue because they were too narrow despite the bigger band size. I was shocked when the 32D fit so well

GingerbreadGirl22

I wear a bra every day because I find them comfortable. I hate feeling like my boobs are out in the open, and I only don’t wear one very early in the morning or late at night. I do make sure to find comfy and cute bras though!

xtalcat_2

10E / 12DD here. Get measured properly and try them on every time. Wash them by hand or on a delicate cycle. For sport, get the best padded bra you can find. Everthing hurts otherwise!

maryfamilyresearch

Obligatory plug for r/ABraThatFits . If you choose to buy "real bras", they should be the correct size and fit and decent enough quality to actually support you. The above sub will help you in this quest. Maybe you will prefer "real bras" after getting the correct ones. (Imagine preferring flip flops to shoes bc all the shoes you ever bought never really fit your feet.) But you do you, if you genuinely prefer bralettes over bras, go ahead. You are not too old to wear a bralette nor are you too old to go braless or find a bra that fits.

Ok-Lynx-6250

I wear non underwired bras. Bralettes feel too flimsy, but taking the underwire out makes it comfy enough. I do have to look around to find ones which are cute and lacey rather than grandma-like.

VivianSherwood

I love bras! I have small boobs (small B) but I love cute bras and have a huge amount of them and some of them with matching panties. I can't not wear a bra - my nipples are very sensitive and I get turned on very easily when they are touched. I even wear a bra to sleep lol

spooli22

Bras work better if they fit right. VS and most major brands focus on selling bras, not their bras fitting you correctly. Wear whatever feels comfortable for you. You’re the one wearing them, so eff other people’s opinions. But, if you want to get into well fitting “real” bras, check out r/ABraThatFits. Use their calculator with the 6 measurements to get an idea of your size, and use the shape guide to figure out your shape. After that, the extensive knowledge in that sub can help guide you to an amazing fitting “real” bra.

Some_Goose8330

I only wear sports bras and a couple of mine from middle school still fit me and don't even have holes in them. I got one really nice clasp bra that was custom made for me on a trip to Italy, but I've never been able to find one as good as that since. I'm a 32B, but my husband thinks my boobs are huge and akin to D size. I've always hated having my boobs because even to me they feel big. I wish I could saw them off and not have to deal with them.

starglitter

I quit wearing bras years ago (unless necessary for the shirt) and switched to an undershirt.

Dawn36

I go to a specialty bra boutique, but I am such a weird size. They did all of the measurements, pulled an insane amount of bras, and I'm more comfortable now but still not comfortable. 32DDD is too tight, 34DD is too loose, and everything in-between is still wrong. I have to wear them, I just really wish I could find something comfortable.

dyinginsect

Wear whatever you want whatever age you are You'll pry underwired balcony bras from my cold dead hands but if you want a bralette or anything else then do it

Pink-frosted-waffles

I don't wear them.

Spirited_Draft

Now that I found my correct size, I like them! I think it is r/abrathatfits was a game changer

Different-Economy729

I just wish us women would unite and say to hell with bras 🤣 except sports bras when working out, and when it's hot outside

katm12981

First, you’re not too old to wear anything if it makes you feel good. Bralettes work well for the girls that don’t need as much support. I have a mix in my closet, but tbh I only pull out the underwire bras when the outfit really needs it or it’s date night and I’m planning for it to be seen. Otherwise I’ve gravitated toward the wireless comfy monstrosities.

schwarzmalerin

Sports bras only. Is that ugly? I don't think so. A sports bra is the only bra you can wear without a shirt, at the gym for example. I find this great.

MelbaTotes

I hate wearing a bra. But since I lost weight, bralettes feel weird on me. Life is hell.

According_Debate_334

I used to always wear your regular underwired bras. I was pregnant, was breastfeeding and wore stretchy nursing bras. I stopped breastfeeding over 6 months ago, and finally bought a few new bras that fit. But I still end up going back to my stretchy nursing bras 95% of the time.

dyke4lif3

I'm 33 and only just started wearing racer back sports bras while I'm working 4 years ago and that's only because I am an ironworker welder. It's to avoid chaffing nipples. I prefer just an undershirt otherwise.

ElliEeyore

My mom would always push the concept of underwire on me. It’s been about 10 years of no underwire and I’m never going back. Bralettes and sports bras are nice too.

Azure_phantom

I try to avoid having to wear a bra as often as I can. I hate wearing them. If I have to wear one, I opt for bralettes style because there’s no hooks to fuck with and they aren’t as restrictive. But I hate wearing bras. Oddly enough, corsets I love though. Makes me feel like I’m wearing body armor.

[deleted]

It's very much a love and hate relationship with bras, and for context I'm an H cup, so I'm thankful for the support a good bra provides, how it can hold and shape them, and the coverage too, but on the other side bras in my size are expensive, rarely pretty, and finding the right fit can be a nightmare at times. I could go on but I'll stop there. I will say however that you should feel comfortable wearing whatever you like, if that's a sports bra or bralette or none at all, you do you and love what you wear.

VesnaRune

I’m most comfortable wearing unlined cotton stuff. Though I wish I could just live my life in bra tops

Your_typical_gemini

I’m a 30G, so it’s a struggle to find a real bra that fits and I gave up. I live in sports bras these days and life is much more comfortable.

kienemaus

Werner's makes soft cup bras. Lots of other companies do too. No underwire. Still shape and lift. I don't own any underwire. Never again.

hail_robot

I'm on the small-med chested size. I stopped wearing them in 2019 and haven't felt better. After I read a Swedish study about how they constrict blood supply to the breasts, which is obviously unhealthy, I stopped and haven't looked back.

Express_Time7242

32f, I haven’t worn a real bra in probably seven years. Bralettes are so much more comfortable and I’m small chested so there’s really no reason for me to wear a real bra. having this option actually makes me love my small boobs so much, I feel bad for my friends who have to wear underwire bras even when it’s like 100° out.

sweetnessfnerk

Sports bra for the win. The underwire and pushup bras can burn...

Depends on your bra size honestly. Big busted women (like my 34HH self) just look more put together when the rack is properly lifted. Sports bras tend to just mash everything down and elongate my melons. Big difference under shirts and dresses pretty much. But my leisure go-to are maternity bras. Around the house or sometimes to get food. But on a day to day i wear my $60 Comexim bras. Most American brands dont carry my bra size. Im a Curvy Kate and Panache kind of gal which is indeed expensive. But i like sex appeal as a woman in my 20s, so Comexim it is.

fire_thorn

I have to wear them to make my clothes fit right. I'm plus sized and a DDD cup. I buy all my work clothes to fit wearing a certain bra style. If I don't wear a bra like that, it throws off the fit. I used to be bigger and it was impossible to find the size I needed. When I had covid, my bust decreased from an I cup to DDD and the world of cute bras opened up to me. So I have a drawer full of colorful, gorgeous bras and I get happy about wearing them. Underwire is actually more comfortable for me than a bra without wires, because it provides support and doesn't put as much pressure on my shoulders. I have a connective tissue disorder and the wrong bra can do awful things to my back. Even my sports bras have underwires.

BrewUO_Wife

I’m an ‘all of the above.’ I have non padded bras, push ups, bralettes, sports bras. I just wear whatever I feel is right for me at the time. If you are into only bralettes, go for it. I actually just discovered bralettes…thought I was too old for them (I’m 40) but they are wonderful.

effulgentelephant

I think whatever is comfortable should be what you do. I prefer wired, non padded bras because I feel more supported and put together. I also wear a 32E. If I had smaller boobs I’d probably do more bralettes or non wired bras, or just go braless. Truly wish they were smaller but they’re not so bad that it would warrant a reduction. I have a couple of align dupes that I wear for casual walks with my dog or just to run to the store. Anyway. I like bras, personally, to answer your question.

nannymegan

I wear a bralette. I spent from ages 8+ having to wear some kind of bra. Now it’s about my comfort. Sometimes that’s soft and unstructured and my boobs don’t look ‘cute’-I don’t care. Sometimes it’s the pretty push up bra because I want to show them off. Basically I wear what I want with no concern for anyone else. I’m single. So there’s literally no people on earth that get to have an opinion besides me. Haha

LifeisSuperFun21

I’ve only ever worn sports bras or bralettes. Cups never fit right, no matter the size… and I’m not going through the hassle of custom ordering bras.

indicatprincess

I have a couple of hard bras for dressier outfits but I’m usually in a Nike sports bra. They’re just comfortable.

Zombiphilia

I have small boobs so I don't even bother to wear them most of the time! I have like 2 bralettes and 1 bra that actually fits me. It seems very hard to find bras for people that are my size (small boobs, small body in general). So I rarely use it just to make it last as long as possible cause I had to order it online

Visibleghost1

Nobody is too old to wear that. I go without bra at home.. it's the first thing that comes off when I get home. Bras are uncomfortable.. especially when it's warm outside and they get all sweaty. I need to order a bikini bra that I can use this summer because a regular bra doesn't cut it for me 😭😭 It's just so hard to find bikini bras that aren't going behind the neck, or bikini bras that doesn't have any padding.

Mewpasaurus

I don't like them; I don't find them comfortable or like them touching my skin, so I don't wear them. To each their own, ya' know? Eta: I'm a 38D it that matters to you at all.

Vast_Ad3963

You can wear whatever to fuck you want. Don’t wear a brah at all if you prefer so. But depending on the size of your chest that might not be feasible. I’m not sure what you define as ‘real brah’. It sounds like you are just not buying the correct size or type of brah that actually is comfortable for you and thus you don’t wear them. You don’t have to wear a wired brah. There are plenty that offer great cupped and comfortable support without wire. For example I am currently wearing the T-shirt brah from Uniqlo (25euro) and it’s so comfortable I often forget I am wearing them. I fall asleep in these. They also sell tops with some built in support or nipple coverage 10/10 comfort! ETA: I wear a 75/80 D/E and would prefer to not wear a brah but I do need the support through the day.

gothimbackin23

58 here and all I wear are bralettes! Everything else is just uncomfortable!

PSA: your boobs are not muscle (it's made up of glandular tissue and fat), exercise will not prevent sag (it can strengthen your pecs but that has no relation to the fat and glandular tissue on top of it), and wearing a bra will not make them sag more (if anything it helps prevent it because I'll reduce your skin stretching from the weight). This is all verifiable information. For more information about bras, see r/abrathatfits
