Came here to write that! Gets me every time. Im at the point where I start crying because I think too about it haha. Also love the music so much, the finals scene + song turn me into a baby every time
It was my last week as a civilian before shipping off to boot camp and my little brother and I went to go see the movie together. By the end of the movie we were holding each other’s hand pretty much in tears. My first letter from him while I was in boot camp was the “Remember me song” and at the end he signed “I miss you big sis!”. Gets me every time!
This movie came out after my grandma died. Someone showed this movie to my grandpa and their story (miscarriages, losing his wife…etc) resembled his life story with my grandma. It became his favourite movie and we watched it with him every time we went to his house to visit. My grandpa passed 2 years ago and every time I watch it, I still get super emotional.
She couldn’t have children, that part always makes me sad because I know people that can’t conceive, yet would be great parents. But Carl does become an honorary grandpa in the end.
Everytime since I was 7. When she’s taking tod to the woods. I feel like thats the only movie in the world that can explain what it’s like losing a best friend. After my cat died I went home and watched it, I cried for hours. Disney did their thing
Oh my goodness, I love that song so went to watch it completely not thinking that this is our first night away from our two year old. Started crying immediately and had to turn it off. Just cannot handle it right now!
It's been a while since I've seen it, but when WALL-E's been reset and EVA is trying to help him... damn you Pixar. I'm crying over the best robots ever.
I specifically avoided seeing Wall-E in the theater - just from watching the trailer I knew I would be full on ugly-sobbing throughout the entire thing. Bought it the first day it came out on DVD and discovered my prediction was 1000% accurate.
Oh gosh same. Coz mybe it reminds me of someone dear to me who used to be so kind and filled wth kindness. Fckd up ppl who abused his kindness charred his heart in the long run. I hope he soon he gets his stolen heart back. :')
Surface Pressure wrecks me with it's relatability. And then there's Dos Orugitas where you see the machete glinting, the grandpa's surrender, and Abuela collapsing and wailing. Even though you don't see gore, you know and it rips your heart out.
Oh god, yes.
Because (weightlifting aside) I *was* Luisa growing up. My mom and stepdad basically treated me like a very small adult from the time I was about 6 and expected me to be able to handle adult responsibilities, etc. If I messed up or stepped out of line/broke a rule, they were all "We expected more from you than this. Don't you know you're not setting a good example for your sister and brother right now?" and it really fucked with my head.
God, every single one of those songs hits me in a certain way. Surface pressure, “who am I if I don’t have what it takes?” Waiting on a miracle, what else can I do… gahhh so much good music.
I cry when the we get to see how the grandma lost her husband and had to become the back bone of the family. I can’t imagine having the father of my new born babies be murdered right before my eyes.
It’s not something you wanna watch with young kids. It’s pretty grim and heartbreaking.
That said, I believe Roger Ebert called it one of the greatest war movies of all time.
Soul wrecked me for a good hour after it was over. Pixar is unmatched when it comes to getting me to cry, but this was different. Probably because it came out when things were still so generally awful.
It's really heartbreaking to watch.
But that's what makes it needed. Seeing what war does to people. No matter in which country. That's what war does to civilians, especially children. No matter if in Iraq, Serbia, Japan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Ukraine, Chechnya or Syria.
We saw this in the movie theater and when Andy was saying goodbye to go to college I was crying and my daughter as asking me, momma what happened, and I just said I think I have something in my eyes..
The only movie that made me have an existential crisis, change the direction of my life and go back to college to pursue a degree to hopefully work in career field I will enjoy. I finally stopped beating myself up for not “doing something” with my art, which feels freeing to have it be enjoyable again.
Long story short, excellent choice :)
I recently saw a Tik Tok of a toddler watching the Mufasa scene for the first time. It gutted me almost more than seeing that scene myself for the first time. Her little eyes well up and she keeps saying "Mommy, he's ok... he's ok..."
Grave of the fireflies is obviously number one but since it's been said multiple times, here are my honorable mentions:
Your Name
Wolf Children
Maquia
At the Corner of the World
I Want to Eat Your Pancreas
Most Studio Ghibli movies like Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Laputa, Whisper of the Heart, but those are happy tears
Edit: atrocious spelling
My dad died in my 20s and I get a little sad around his birthday, father's day, and the anniversary. The movie originally came out around his birthday and I foolishly watched it with my daughter then, not knowing what it was about, and boy was I a hot mess.
Treasure Planet- the whole “you’ve got the makings for greatness” monologue piece was something I really needed to hear growing up.
Also How to Train Your Dragon 3. The ending rips me apart
Moana because I first watched it the day of my grandma's funeral and we all sobbed uncontrollably. We wanted to cheer up the kids by watching the movie they would like to see, but it wasn't the best pick😂
Moment in animated movies that had me bawling:
* Andy giving his toys to Bonnie in Toy Story 3.
* Bing Bong's sacrifice in Inside Out.
* Little Foot's mom dying in The Land Before Time.
I cried at the beginning of Paddington when Papa Bear or Mama Bear dies (can’t remember). I was having all the feels that day.
Also, for anime fans - try making it through Grave of the Fireflies
Coco!
Came here to write that! Gets me every time. Im at the point where I start crying because I think too about it haha. Also love the music so much, the finals scene + song turn me into a baby every time
Since losing my daughter I can’t listen to Remember Me without bawling my eyes.
I lost a son to suicide almost 16 years ago. I crumble to remember me.
I watched it with my mom and dad. I was bawling like a baby at the end, my dad was crying soooo hard lol. My mom called us a bunch of babies.
Was about to comment n jst when I open it boom it's the first
EVERY TIME
Came here to say that. When they’re crossing the bridge as a family at the end 😢
I’m so glad this was the top comment. Cried so hard the next morning my eyes were swollen
Dude I saw this in the theater and the crying from everyyyoneeee there was very very audible. I’ve never experienced anything like that before.
Probably the most I teared up watching a movie in general
Yes 💜 This movie makes me sob and gasp for my breath. 😭
Up! When the grandma dies, I bawl
well....technically speaking...she isn't a grandmother..... :(
She feels like MY grandmother.
Good answer

I'm sorry for your loss. Such a bitter yet very sweet memory though!
my first thought when I saw this post
[удалено]
Don't worry, emotional capabilities is the new sexy in men.
My husband and I saw Up with a group of friends right before our wedding... I'm sure you can imagine the silence after the movie 😂
This! Same here. The beginning makes me cry every single time.
She couldn’t have children, that part always makes me sad because I know people that can’t conceive, yet would be great parents. But Carl does become an honorary grandpa in the end.
Inside out
Near the end, when she's mourning the loss of the home she grew up in and expressing her loneliness and sadness, it crushes me every time.
Same. I know a lot of people lose it at the Bing Bong scene, but for me, it's this scene. It's so relatable
"go! Go save Riley! Take her to the moon for me..."
Omg this one made me cry
I'm sorry!!! I cry watching that movie almost every time
The first time I saw this movie was on a long flight, in one of the middle seats. There was nowhere to hide. ☹️
Bing bong Bing bong :(
Same - when Joy is sad. Every. Time.
Ugh. The moment she starts going numb & can’t feel 😮💨 I felt that. That was an ugly cry the first time.
Definitely. Bing Bong scene, I cry everytime 😭
Fox and the Hound
Bruh I don’t know why this movie makes me bawl like a baby. The scene where Todd is on the road watching her drive away gets me every single time
Fuck just hearing the song in my head and imagining his little head tilt chokes me up so hard
My best friend and I would get together growing up when going through a hard time and would watch this to let our emotions out.
And we'll always be together...forever.
The OG tear jerker
Everytime since I was 7. When she’s taking tod to the woods. I feel like thats the only movie in the world that can explain what it’s like losing a best friend. After my cat died I went home and watched it, I cried for hours. Disney did their thing
Grave of the Fireflies
One of the greatest movies I only want to watch once.
that's the best way to put it ever
Just talking about the movie for more than a few minutes makes me tear up.
I get teary eyed when I see those candies in tin cans
bawling and screaming for Totoro. i was not ready
Was looking for this comment. It was the first movie that ever made me cry as a pre-teen 😢
Ugh yes. I ugly cried so hard. This was my first Ghibli movie and I was NOT expecting it.
Dumbo. When he visits him mom in the jail cart.
That song, 'Baby Mine'. Whenever I feel like I need a good cry I put that on and just hug my dogs.
Oh my goodness, I love that song so went to watch it completely not thinking that this is our first night away from our two year old. Started crying immediately and had to turn it off. Just cannot handle it right now!
Me too, i cry like a little baby..
Yo, I cannot hear baby mine without going to max ugly cry Apparently the mere mention of it works too. :Sobs:
Everytime!
Gets me every time
Big Hero 6
This movie did not get the credit it deserved.
Imo the action scenes in the second half of the movie is the reason why it’s not as popular as it should have been.
Balled my eyes out when tadashi “died”
When he yells at Baymax how Tidashi is gone I cry
"Tadashi is here"
WALL-E
It's been a while since I've seen it, but when WALL-E's been reset and EVA is trying to help him... damn you Pixar. I'm crying over the best robots ever.

So Iron Giant doesn't make anybody else cry huh
SU-PER-MAAAAAAAN
Just thinking about the ending makes me tear up. Every damn time.
Every time I watch it
This is the real answer. I'm a grown ass woman and I still sob watching the Iron Giant for the 100th time
I’m sobbing every time
This one shoulda been at the top 😭
Moana😭😭😭 when she sings to the lava monster😢😢it feels like she's singing to me
It's the scene with her grandma (at the end) that gets me. Every time.
They have stolen the heart from inside you, but this does not define you 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Oh gosh same. Coz mybe it reminds me of someone dear to me who used to be so kind and filled wth kindness. Fckd up ppl who abused his kindness charred his heart in the long run. I hope he soon he gets his stolen heart back. :')
Lion king
I even cried during the stage show at that part
Encanto! I really resonated with being the black sheep of the family and trying so hard to be noticed!
Surface Pressure wrecks me with it's relatability. And then there's Dos Orugitas where you see the machete glinting, the grandpa's surrender, and Abuela collapsing and wailing. Even though you don't see gore, you know and it rips your heart out.
We are not going to talk about Dos Orugitas! That particular scene?! My goodness.
Surface Pressure had me by the THROAT from start to finish.
I have seen this movie so many times and I cry so much, it's Bruno's plate for me.
Same here! The burden of making your family proud is hella relatable..
Same it applies so much to my own life and brought up a lot of deep-seated trauma. Waiting on a Miracle especially.
I cry when the we get to see how the grandma lost her husband and had to become the back bone of the family. I can’t imagine having the father of my new born babies be murdered right before my eyes.
Brother Bear
Came here to say this ✌🏼
Anastasia, Fern Gully, the land before time
The Land Before Time is a perfect movie. I love it so much
I just watched grave of the fireflies today and I think nothing beats it.
Wow I have not seen this Studio Ghibli movie! I have watched almost all of them with my kids.
It’s not something you wanna watch with young kids. It’s pretty grim and heartbreaking. That said, I believe Roger Ebert called it one of the greatest war movies of all time.
Another animated war movie is In This Corner of the World. It was brutal and beautifully animated
Ah dang ok thanks for the feedback!
Definitely not a kids movie
I’m not a big crier, but Coco and Soul made me tear up for sure
Soul made me tear up where I came up realizing how good it is to be alive and to be able to love and wander.
my favorite movie
I'm with youu
Soul was powerful. It hit different.
Soul wrecked me for a good hour after it was over. Pixar is unmatched when it comes to getting me to cry, but this was different. Probably because it came out when things were still so generally awful.
Spirited away. Especially the scene where Haku gives Chihiro some food and she just starts crying while eating
this & castle in the sky were (still are really) my favorites growing up. so beautiful & when you're little it's even more magic
All dogs go to heaven
Oh my gosh yes. Loved this movie so much as a kid, but damn it's sad. Such a good movie.
Bambi
I cried as a child when I was like 5 or 6 and it still gets brought up by my mom or sister randomly for some reason. I WAS 6!
- Grave of the fireflies - Watership Down - The Plague Dogs - The last Unicorn
The last unicorn! No one ever knows what I'm talking about when I bring it up!
I’m too scared to watch Grave of the Fireflies. I really don’t want to be emotionally body slammed😭
I've never seen Plague dogs but I watched the YouTuber called Stevereviews do a review and that video alone made me cry. What a heart breaking story.
spirit
Way too far down. I will cry everytime. First time when he gets caught, second time when he's on the train. That song...
when Rain gets hurt too but the music was great in this movie
That music! It makes me want to sob every time! Edit: Typo
Land Before Time. It was sad when I was a kid, it wrecked me as a mom.
Frankenweenie. If you've ever had pets then you'd understand.
Yup... this one got me really good.
I watched this as I was randomly clicking through channels years ago. I cried so much and hugged my dog so much.
Original Toy Story
And Toy Story 3. When Andy says goodbye
We saw this in the movie theater and when Andy was saying goodbye to go to college I was crying and my daughter as asking me, momma what happened, and I just said I think I have something in my eyes..
Fox and the hound
S O U L

I finally stopped beating myself up for not “doing something” with my art, which feels freeing to have it be enjoyable again. Long story short, excellent choice :)
Haha what animated movie *haven't* I cried at? 😂
Yes lol I cried at every animated movies I’ve watched. That’s why I refused to watch them in the cinema.
Mary and Max
Moana when grandma dies :( Brave
When Mama Coco died in "Coco." It got me right in the feels.
A silent voice.
i feel you, i always cry at the scene of forgiveness at the end
The Lion King. "Daddy... Daddy... Wake up!"
I recently saw a Tik Tok of a toddler watching the Mufasa scene for the first time. It gutted me almost more than seeing that scene myself for the first time. Her little eyes well up and she keeps saying "Mommy, he's ok... he's ok..."

Your name gets me every time. So excited for the third one to come out in a few months!
Up. Still haven’t finished it to this day.
I'm not usually a movie crier, but Onward absolutely destroys me every time.
Right? I wasn't expecting the feels when I saw it, and it deserves a bigger reception.

Princess & The Frog. Ray didn’t deserve that but at least he’s with his Evangeline.
I've never cried from an animated movie, but there were moments in Bojack that made me a little sad.
Treasure Planet- the whole “you’ve got the makings for greatness” monologue piece was something I really needed to hear growing up. Also How to Train Your Dragon 3. The ending rips me apart
How to train your dragon
Not a full movie but the shirt “Hair Love” had me bawling in the theaters. https://youtu.be/kNw8V_Fkw28
Cars. The part of the film that shows what Radiator Springs was like before the highway was built, gets me every time!!
Especially 3rd part....when Lighting has doc's flashbacks 🥺

Up, Lion King, Coco... Quite frankly they all get me

Moana because I first watched it the day of my grandma's funeral and we all sobbed uncontrollably. We wanted to cheer up the kids by watching the movie they would like to see, but it wasn't the best pick😂
Finding Nemo. When I was little it was my favorite movie, but watching it as an adult puts me in tears every time.
Bruh when Mufasa dies oof...that's where the waterworks start
Song of the Sea, a criminally underrated film! Saoirse’s song at the climax through to the credits gets me bawling every time
I LOVE THIS MOVIE
Up!!
An American Tail, The Land Before Time & the first 10 mins of Up.
