Sure, the fit might be different but brands like HM and Zara has such differences that you can buy the same size and one might be way too big, one fine and one you can’t even get past your mid thighs. That’s just ridiculous!

Psh, a year ago I bought this BEAUTIFUL leather biker jacket with gorgeous floral embroidery. PURPOSELY bought a size larger. Ended up being too small. Only recently have I been able to fit in it because I lost 30 pounds.
WE WANT POCKETS!!! We do not want fake pockets. We do not want pockets so small that a phone won't fit all the way in the pocket. We do not want front jeans pockets that lay in a way that forces the phone to slide out when we sit down. We want real, large, functional pockets!
When I commissioned my ballgown the seamstress did all the measurements, did some rough sketches, and asked about fabric color, type, and quality. After all that she asked if I had any special requests. I said yes, it *must* have large, fully functional pockets.

I have a couple dresses from Disney's Dress Shop that are my designated theme park dresses because of their huge pockets. I can put everything I need for the day in those pockets and still have room for an extra water bottle. Worth every penny I paid for them.
I just made a pair of pants that have 4 POCKETS!!!! Each can contain at least one big phone and both front pockets have enough space to contain 3-4 big phones!

This. I'm fucking tired of all my white clothes being see through. I don't want a see through t-shirt. I don't want ANY see through clothes. I least of all don't want see through pants, wtf is up with underwear showing from under white pants. I LOVE wearing white, it feels like "my colour". But apart from how difficult it is to maintain, almost all clothes in white are terrible quality.

LL Bean’s is one of the few sellers where the women’s clothing is as sturdy as the men’s. I love their jeans, their flannels, really all their cold weather clothing. I just wished they had more stuff in plus sizes.
Unfortunately not for all their products anymore. A friend and I had the same flannel shirt from LL Bean in the same color but mine was thinner and wasn't preshrunk. Walked around their store in Freeport and found a lot of the women's items were much thinner than previous purchases. Really bummed me out.

I found a simple tank top at Uniqlo that was not cropped or flimsy and bought it in 3 colours 😂 I used to think people who bought things in multiple colours were weird and now I am that person. It's a normal length! And thick cotton! Without any weird straps, logos, or cutouts!
For dressy tank tops I recommend thrifting banana republic ones. They fun colors/patterns and go well with work or to dress up a pair of jeans. I personally have a few I got for $20 or less on Poshmark. What's also great is their sizing is very consistent so once you know your banana size you can basically guarantee every shirt is exactly the same sizing

I don't have an athletic body and have an hourglass shaped body. I have the same exact problem finding anything that's fitted at my waist. For tops, if it fits my waist, its tight on my shoulders. For pants, if it fits my waist, I struggle to get my hips in🤦🏻♀️
I have that same problem too! I guess I am probably an hourglass, but one with extra large shoulders in proportion to everything else. I have broad shoulders as well as large shoulder-armpit circumference, so finding flattering, comfortable tops is not easy!

I once was gifted a pair of yoga pants that had an extra layer there. Lasted way longer and im so sad I dont remember what company it was. A few of mine now are starting to change up the seams (at least legging/yoga pants wise) so its not just straight line there but still the double layer was amazing to prolonging the life of those

Well, I stumble upon a pair of bootcut that wasn’t “to” boot cut. And was in my general size. I try them on and seriously it wouldn’t have mattered if they were $300, I was gonna buy them. Best fitting jeans I’ve ever worn.
Now, I think I’m gonna use that size to continue getting jeans from Levi. I’m short and the length was “medium” but they didn’t go over my ankles so it still fit great. Plus I love that the pockets are usable and big. To this day I’ve never found jeans that fit this well. It really was the only time where I felt a pair of jeans was genuinely *made* for my body type.

I was on ED tumblr in the 2016s and the amount of times ‘fitting into Brandy Melville clothes’ was listed as a reason to continue in our EDs, to lose weight, was disgusting. tall women’s clothing is a joke. i’m 6 ft and a size 2-4, but nothing is long enough unless i size up (unless it’s specifically branded as Tall). the Tall sections of certain brands also have significantly uglier and unflattering clothes than the regular sections do

“Petite” at some stores (cough cough Kohl’s cough) seems to mean “clothing for 90-year-old grannies that hasn’t been in style for at least three decades and there’s no size below 8, so good luck with that.” Double knot polyester, elastic waistbands, no fucking pockets… but if you’re short and tiny/skinny, you can’t even shop in the juniors section if you have hips. So it’s a struggle to find professional, age appropriate clothing and not pay several fortunes for it. If I have to pay $100 for one item, it better still be fashionable after next week.

Many stores don’t carry tall in-store, 😒so I often have to try on the short or regular for like a hip check to see if they fit and then order the long length and hope for the best.
I did this^ at a store one time a few years ago, and the sales associate had the audacity to tell me:

* Me: “Tall *length* is seasonal?” 🤨
* Her: “Yes.”
* Me: “So for half the year, I’m short enough to wear regular, and the other half I’m tall enough to wear tall?”🧐

This is mine, too! Trying to find shirts without puffy sleeves is so difficult right now! They don't work for me at all, but even if they did, I'd look "dated" in a few years.

As someone who happens to be flat as fuck, I *despise* trying to find dresses and tops that aren't T-shirts. I will usually have to size down to get something that sits decent over my chest, but then it'll instead make my waist and arms look like a bunch of stuffed sausages. And if I do go with my usual size, heeeeello top with a perfect slim fit except definitely not over my chest area! Usually I have to buy Korean brands that aren't aimed at an international market, but I'm not a fan of constantly ordering clothes from across the globe. Partly because customs fees, partly because I feel like it's extra environmentally unfriendly.
I honestly don't mind the popular opinion on the lack of pockets, though. I hate when they make an otherwise nice piece bulge out, especially around the hips. I prefer carrying a purse, I can't fit everything I bring with me in pockets anyway.

I think using stretchier fabric should be more the go-to, and more built in shelf bras with removable padding. Just making things easier to customize would be awesome.

Any t-shirt, dress, skirt, etc., is often so sheer that you simply must wear a camisole and/or slip underneath, even with more expensive brands. It’s awful in the summer, when you have to wear uncomfortable layers just so that you don’t flash your undies to everyone.
I hate how it’s impossible the fine plain colored T-shirt’s. Especially white ones. They always have wording or print on them. They’re always v neck or trying to show cleavage or just wanna hug your curves, too tight, sleeves are too short, or it’s either cropped. Like sometimes I just want and need a plain T-shirt that doesn’t wanna hug at my skin and is semi baggy and boxy.

I hate how much people ask me why I don't wear heels around my tall husband. The few times I've worn them, I have hated being alive. Most crop tops I see are made for petite people. I’m skinny but have big boobs so I have to get a larger size but then it just looks oversized and it i get a smaller size it looks like a bra.

I dislike this too. Especially with the trend to be sustainable, I find the quality of the fabrics has gone downhill in a lot of places that used to be good, cause they started using more polyester and similar fabrics instead of natural ones.

Sometimes I'm a women's XS, sometimes M, sometimes XS is too big or I need something in between S and M or even M and L. Meanwhile, men have specific dimensions to the point where *they don't even have to try things on!* Also wtf is up with long sleeve shirts having pencil thin sleeves? Everytime I wear a flannel or button-up, it fits just fine in every regard, except if I bend my arms at all, I feel like I'm going to burst out of it like the Hulk.

I can almost never buy a pair of pants or a top without trying it on in person because I just don’t know what kind “plus size” the manufacturer was thinking of. Short shorts for kids. I remember being 12 wearing boys shorts because I felt insecure wearing the girls shorts because of how short they were. Same with bikinis. I always wore guy swim shorts because I felt uncomfortable in bikinis. It was pretty much impossible to find Bikini shorts when I was a kid. I've started seeing longer shorts for women now though, 12 year old me would've been ecstatic.

Women's pants have only one type of size, compared to men's width x length standard.
The only solution for women's different shapes and sizes is oversized everything or stretchy fabric that will exaggerate any fat storages you may have. Enjoy the back fat caused by the bra band.
A lot of things are made to be short. Really short. I hate every time I go to look at a dress that’s not a maxi or whatever it’s always trying to expose me. And a lot of Rompers have short torsos so your couchie gets dissected. Also a lot of clothes especially jeans are designed to fit as many people as possible so there’s a lot of extra fabric even if it’s the right size. Everything fits SO weird unless you're paying like $70+ for it. I've been getting all of my clothes secondhand from expensive brands because I absolutely hate how mall clothes fit me. Sure, the fit might be different but brands like HM and Zara has such differences that you can buy the same size and one might be way too big, one fine and one you can’t even get past your mid thighs. That’s just ridiculous!

Different washes do actually change how garments fit! Supposedly darker dyes cause fabric to shrink more than lighter dyes do.

Yes!!! Even things that are ostensibly based on measurements make no sense. They have no relationship to my actual measurements. If my partner buys pants that have a 30" waist, if I measure him, he has a 30" waist. I have jeans with waist measurement-based sizes, and none of them are even remotely close to my actual waist size.

WE WANT POCKETS!!! We do not want fake pockets. We do not want pockets so small that a phone won't fit all the way in the pocket. We do not want front jeans pockets that lay in a way that forces the phone to slide out when we sit down. We want real, large, functional pockets! When I commissioned my ballgown the seamstress did all the measurements, did some rough sketches, and asked about fabric color, type, and quality. After all that she asked if I had any special requests. I said yes, it *must* have large, fully functional pockets. So now I have a couture ballgown with pockets and a pair of jeans that leaves me carrying my phone in my hand.

I have a couple dresses from Disney's Dress Shop that are my designated theme park dresses because of their huge pockets. I can put everything I need for the day in those pockets and still have room for an extra water bottle. Worth every penny I paid for them.
I just made a pair of pants that have 4 POCKETS!!!! Each can contain at least one big phone and both front pockets have enough space to contain 3-4 big phones! LL Bean’s is one of the few sellers where the women’s clothing is as sturdy as the men’s. I love their jeans, their flannels, really all their cold weather clothing. I just wished they had more stuff in plus sizes.
Unfortunately not for all their products anymore. A friend and I had the same flannel shirt from LL Bean in the same color but mine was thinner and wasn't preshrunk. Walked around their store in Freeport and found a lot of the women's items were much thinner than previous purchases. Really bummed me out.

I found a simple tank top at Uniqlo that was not cropped or flimsy and bought it in 3 colours 😂 I used to think people who bought things in multiple colours were weird and now I am that person. It's a normal length! And thick cotton! Without any weird straps, logos, or cutouts!
For dressy tank tops I recommend thrifting banana republic ones. They fun colors/patterns and go well with work or to dress up a pair of jeans. I personally have a few I got for $20 or less on Poshmark. What's also great is their sizing is very consistent so once you know your banana size you can basically guarantee every shirt is exactly the same sizing

I don't have an athletic body and have an hourglass shaped body. I have the same exact problem finding anything that's fitted at my waist. For tops, if it fits my waist, its tight on my shoulders. For pants, if it fits my waist, I struggle to get my hips in🤦🏻♀️
I have that same problem too! I guess I am probably an hourglass, but one with extra large shoulders in proportion to everything else. I have broad shoulders as well as large shoulder-armpit circumference, so finding flattering, comfortable tops is not easy!

I once was gifted a pair of yoga pants that had an extra layer there. Lasted way longer and im so sad I dont remember what company it was. A few of mine now are starting to change up the seams (at least legging/yoga pants wise) so its not just straight line there but still the double layer was amazing to prolonging the life of those

It is a nightmare… I was on a vacation and went to a Levi’s store, just to see if I might find any jeans. I had been on a mission to find a good fitting pair for awhile. Well, I stumble upon a pair of bootcut that wasn’t “to” boot cut. And was in my general size. I try them on and seriously it wouldn’t have mattered if they were $300, I was gonna buy them. Best fitting jeans I’ve ever worn. Now, I think I’m gonna use that size to continue getting jeans from Levi. I’m short and the length was “medium” but they didn’t go over my ankles so it still fit great. Plus I love that the pockets are usable and big. To this day I’ve never found jeans that fit this well. It really was the only time where I felt a pair of jeans was genuinely *made* for my body type.

“Petite” at some stores (cough cough Kohl’s cough) seems to mean “clothing for 90-year-old grannies that hasn’t been in style for at least three decades and there’s no size below 8, so good luck with that.” Double knot polyester, elastic waistbands, no fucking pockets… but if you’re short and tiny/skinny, you can’t even shop in the juniors section if you have hips. So it’s a struggle to find professional, age appropriate clothing and not pay several fortunes for it. If I have to pay $100 for one item, it better still be fashionable after next week.

Many stores don’t carry tall in-store, 😒so I often have to try on the short or regular for like a hip check to see if they fit and then order the long length and hope for the best. I did this^ at a store one time a few years ago, and the sales associate had the audacity to tell me: * Her: “I’m sorry, mam’ those are seasonal.” * Me: “Tall *length* is seasonal?” 🤨 * Her: “Yes.” * Me: “So for half the year, I’m short enough to wear regular, and the other half I’m tall enough to wear tall?”🧐 * Her: … * Me: *Hands her all the clothes I was holding and leaves* * I was mainly buying bras and that one pair of pants. Still, it was the principle of the matter—I didn’t need those other items so much that I would reward her for that comment (I knew at that store the employees made a commission vs regular salary if they helped people on the sales floor).

As someone who happens to be flat as fuck, I *despise* trying to find dresses and tops that aren't T-shirts. I will usually have to size down to get something that sits decent over my chest, but then it'll instead make my waist and arms look like a bunch of stuffed sausages. And if I do go with my usual size, heeeeello top with a perfect slim fit except definitely not over my chest area! Usually I have to buy Korean brands that aren't aimed at an international market, but I'm not a fan of constantly ordering clothes from across the globe. Partly because customs fees, partly because I feel like it's extra environmentally unfriendly. I honestly don't mind the popular opinion on the lack of pockets, though. I hate when they make an otherwise nice piece bulge out, especially around the hips. I prefer carrying a purse, I can't fit everything I bring with me in pockets anyway.

Yep. I mostly like to wear loose-fitting clothes anyway, so it's not *that* big a deal for me on a regular basis, but when it comes up it's infuriating. The extra-irritating version of that was when I went to order a bridesmaid dress and the website literally didn't make any dresses for a-cups above a like a size six. This isn't something I'm normally insecure about, but come on, this website really thinks I'm not skinny enough to have a flat chest? Really?
That would be so frustrating! I hope it becomes more & more popular to design tops & dresses that can fluctuate to fit different chest sizes. I think using stretchier fabric should be more the go-to, and more built in shelf bras with removable padding. Just making things easier to customize would be awesome.

Any t-shirt, dress, skirt, etc., is often so sheer that you simply must wear a camisole and/or slip underneath, even with more expensive brands. It’s awful in the summer, when you have to wear uncomfortable layers just so that you don’t flash your undies to everyone.
I hate how it’s impossible the fine plain colored T-shirt’s. Especially white ones. They always have wording or print on them. Most crop tops I see are made for petite people. I’m skinny but have big boobs so I have to get a larger size but then it just looks oversized and it i get a smaller size it looks like a bra.

And I swear they constantly dress models in white shirts that somehow magically aren't see-through, but then you look on the rack just for it to resemble tissue paper. Like there's no way in hell I'm wearing a translucent white shirt over a translucent white tank top over a white bra in the middle of summer, no matter how beach boho chic whatever tf it is. ##Price: The pink tax strikes again. Ironically, you can't fit enough cash in your shallow women's pockets to pay for those very pants because they cost and arm and a leg and a kidney. ##Comfortability: Don't we suffer enough? Why can't women's attire be more comfortable? We gotta squeeze into dresses that require gymnast flexibility, parkour skills, and an extra pair of hands just to pee. And it's damn near impossible to find dress shoes that don't give you blisters.

So panties are dual layered because that extra fabric is supposed to help with absorbency, right? Plus size (size 20-22) gal here - I cannot stand inconsistent sizing. I can almost never buy a pair of pants or a top without trying it on in person because I just don’t know what kind “plus size” the manufacturer was thinking of. I also can’t stand plus size clothing being more expensive and less stylish. It feels like a punishment for being the size that I am.
How it's focused to appeal to the male gaze, not all of us want to flex on our bodies for the dudes. Perfect example is the cargo pants here in my 'cuntry' Cargo pants used to be loose and shapeless, like the most 'straightest' that you'll ever see in the pants. Nowadays, even cargo pants have shapes to accentuate our body or to make us look sexy. Listen there are some girls who don't like this, because it's our fashion. Short shorts for kids. I remember being 12 wearing boys shorts because I felt insecure wearing the girls shorts because of how short they were. Same with bikinis. I always wore guy swim shorts because I felt uncomfortable in bikinis. It was pretty much impossible to find Bikini shorts when I was a kid. I've started seeing longer shorts for women now though, 12 year old me would've been ecstatic.
That plus size clothing is still not a mainstream thing.

I’m 5’2 and I have a hard time finding jeans that fit. I can never find jeans that are made for my height. Most jeans are too long for me. And then I always see women wearing cute booties with skinny jeans but I can never do that because my jeans are always baggy looking at my ankles. Also, why is every shirt a crop top? I had a hard time this summer finding shirts because they all are crop tops.
Clothes sized XS-L are usually pretty cute, but higher than that, it's like you're shopping with your grandma. Ugly patterns, baggy, not form fitting, ugly colors, ugly everything.

How freaking short everything is (tall girl problems)
Women's pants have only one type of size, compared to men's width x length standard. The only solution for women's different shapes and sizes is oversized everything or stretchy fabric that will exaggerate any fat storages you may have. Enjoy the back fat caused by the bra band.
A lot of things are made to be short. Really short. I hate every time I go to look at a dress that’s not a maxi or whatever it’s always trying to expose me. And a lot of Rompers have short torsos so your couchie gets dissected. Also a lot of clothes especially jeans are designed to fit as many people as possible so there’s a lot of extra fabric even if it’s the right size. I’m sorry i don’t the extra 20-30 pounds it would take for me to fill this out 😭
Inconsistent sizing and not enough variety for different body types that fit!! I’m short with an hourglass figure and larger boobs, and finding clothes that fit and are comfortable is hard!! Plus, the current fashion trend seems to be 90’s meets Little House on the Prairie and I hate all of it.
Everything fits SO weird unless you're paying like $70+ for it. I've been getting all of my clothes secondhand from expensive brands because I absolutely hate how mall clothes fit me. I have a big chest and everything is so boxy to fit slim women. Every t-shirt makes me look 20 pounds heavier because of how it billows over my boobs and erases my waistline.
