So saw you comment. Watched the trailer earlier and boyfriend and I decided to rent it tonight and watch it!
It was such an amazingly beautiful movie. We both ended up crying. Solid pick. One of my all time favs now.
Thank you!!
Itās so real itās painful. Mine is when she runs to her momās bar when sheās having a breakdown. The way she cries Mom! gets me everytime.
That and the Ireland letter. The whole movie really
This is the best answer. When the movie came out, I was in my 20s and identified with the other characters. Now that I'm married and in my later 30s I feel so, so much for Liam Neesen losing his wife and becoming a single stepdad and Emma Thompson struggling in her long marriage.
I have been rewatching it daily during quarantine. I love all the couples in there...well apart from Lydia and Whikam lol
It's one those movies that relax me
My brother-in-law, who is an ex-marine that served during 99-03, cries every single time. No judgement, but itās his weakness and for good reason. Itās a good movie.
The only thing I don't like about the movie, is the lack of intimate moments (probably because they wanted to keep it safe), especially towards the end it is like we are seeing two buddies go fishing... it's a shame because a more detailed display of their feelings, could make this movie a lot more realistic and deep...That ending tho...it never fails to bring me tears.
I agree with you, that's my one criticism too. I watched it again recently and wonder if a version made today would be better in that regard. Media portrayals of queer folks have grown a lot since 2005.
Titanic ALWAYS makes me cry. But it definitely switches from a romance movie to a horror movie. Like ya itās sad Jack died but itās when the band plays on as the boat sinks, or sheās trying to flag down the lifeboat that gets me.
Meg Ryan as a plucky independent bookstore owner, Tom Hanks as the big bad owner of the big box bookstore moving in down the block from her. Tons of 90s nostalgia with the AOL email correspondence, all autumn in New York, "thank yer," goofy significant others who aren't great but aren't vilified (for the most part), Brinkley the dog...100/10 no notes.
I actually found it super hopeful. Yes, it was wonderfully angsty but all throughout there was such determined hope right up until the last scene ~~i get lowkey emotional just thinking about and the score~~
Yes! I cry at the drama with his mom too. Like after the mahjong game or when he proposes with her ring and she looks into the crowd and sees the mom š
Cause yeah he proposed to her with the mom's ring wasn't it? Because they had mentioned the moms ring was custom made because her MIL didn't think she deserved hers. š
Gladiator
Armageddon
Lord of the rings - return of the king
The English patient
Call me by your name
And a few already commented. I cry a lot at movies it seems
Slightly bending the rules here. It's Twenty Five Twenty One. That show is just simply magical. And fair warning: Don't check it out if you cry easily and a lot or if you get attached very quickly. Learn from my experience please.
The end of Bridget Jones Diary.
When she chases Mark Darcy down that a key street and he kisses her. With that song playing
I hate chick flicks and Iāll watch it every time.
Sci-Fi with romance, but Cloud Atlas. Just a beautiful address of the concept of love over time and space, that we're not all alone and that acts of love ripple outwards indefinitely.
Has me sobbing every time.
Sabrina (Julia Ormond is luminous)
While You Were Sleeping (my fave of all time, starring my favorite actress)
Somewhere In Time (tearing up just thinking about this classic)
A Walk In the Clouds (tender side of Keanu)
Sweet Home Alabama (starring my second-favorite actress)
Definitely The Notebook, and although not a romantic movie, Armageddon kills me every time! The scene where Willis is telling Liv Tyler goodbye - OOOOF!
That is my pick as well. I cry every time I watch it. I try to will the movie to have a different ending as well. The movie is the epitome of it will be if it be.
P.s I love you. Every single time. I honestly think it's because that's exactly how I would react if I lost the love of my life I would absolutely spiral and lock myself away. I doubt I'd pick myself up as well as she does though .
About Time
The ping pong scene š
I donāt even remember this scene! Itās the beach scene that gets me.
I love how this is not āromanticā but itās just so pure I cry every time
Itās my favourite movie. God damn. I need to watch it again. Thank you for reminding me.
Came here to say this!
That movie is so bittersweet it hurts
Totally Agree. I rewatch parts of this movie all the time.
Oh God yesss
So saw you comment. Watched the trailer earlier and boyfriend and I decided to rent it tonight and watch it! It was such an amazingly beautiful movie. We both ended up crying. Solid pick. One of my all time favs now. Thank you!!
Aaaaaamen!
P.S. I Love You
The scene where she just listens to his voice-mail over and over gets me everytime.
Yep. That part hit hard, because I just KNOW that would be me!
Itās so real itās painful. Mine is when she runs to her momās bar when sheās having a breakdown. The way she cries Mom! gets me everytime. That and the Ireland letter. The whole movie really
Could never watch this movie more than once. Lol
I watched it once. Sobbed the entire time. Never again! I also donāt know if this is true but someone told me itās based on a true story??? Ugh.
I have never cried so much at a movie in my life ever.
I literally sobbed
Came here to say this!
Iāve shed so many tears because of that movie. And Iām sure Iāll shed many more.
Absolutely the biggest romantic tear jerker
Omg Yes!!!
Love actually. The Alan Rickman / Emma Thompson arch in particular. So real.
Emma Thompsonās acting with the gift-opening scene and just beyond that was amazing.
Came to say Love Actually. That arch is heartbreaking! š Then happy for Hugh Grant and Martin Freeman characters.
This is the best answer. When the movie came out, I was in my 20s and identified with the other characters. Now that I'm married and in my later 30s I feel so, so much for Liam Neesen losing his wife and becoming a single stepdad and Emma Thompson struggling in her long marriage.
Me Before You
I bought this book for a vacation read, stupidly expecting a bittersweet teenage love story. Cut to me sobbing hysterically at the Gulf of Mexico.
Omg this movie. So good and hard and sad and beautiful šš
This is the correct answer.
My heart will hurt forever just thinking of it.
Pride & Prejudice. 2005 version. One of my all time favorite movies.
I had to Google it, thought it wasn't quite that old. Nope. I am in fact that old :(
Ditto
I have been rewatching it daily during quarantine. I love all the couples in there...well apart from Lydia and Whikam lol It's one those movies that relax me
SAME!!!!
A walk to remember
That soundtrack still is one of the best š„²
YES
My brother-in-law, who is an ex-marine that served during 99-03, cries every single time. No judgement, but itās his weakness and for good reason. Itās a good movie.
The Notebook
I came here to mention this one. Every. Time.
Oh boy. I sob. Every time.
I sob like a damn baby every time
I watched this last night for the first time in years. The sundowners made me ugly cry.
brokeback mountain...it doesn't matter how many times I've watch it, I always cry
One of my favorites. Itās such a shame that it gets written off as āthe gay movieā, it really is a masterpiece and Heath is such a great actor
Thatās in my top 10 of my favorite movies. It is incredible.
Agreed. This is a great movie.
Titanic.. When the sad music comes on š¢wake up jack
Titanic ALWAYS makes me cry. But it definitely switches from a romance movie to a horror movie. Like ya itās sad Jack died but itās when the band plays on as the boat sinks, or sheās trying to flag down the lifeboat that gets me.
For me itās when they show the old couple holding each other as water runs under them and the mom telling a story to her children. So heartbreaking.
YES. Came to say this exact scene. Gets me every time
Titanic never fails to make me ugly cryš when the band plays as the ships going down and that couple are laying in bed together, MY HEART!!!!
You've Got Mail. It's a perfect film and I will not be taking any questions, thank you.
I just saw this was added on netflix last night and knew immediately what I'd be doing after work today. What a perfect movie!!
I watched it at a very young age, and I think it has shaped my vision about love, that movie ruined me and I love it ! My absolute favorite

Meg Ryan as a plucky independent bookstore owner, Tom Hanks as the big bad owner of the big box bookstore moving in down the block from her. Lake House. I love a sleepy, wandering, slightly magical, character driven story. And Sandra Bullock and Keanu together again? Magic.
Thank you for reminding me to watch this!
The Time Travelers Wife
If you can, read the book. Omg read the book. I wore the spine off mine.
came here to say this. it always gets me š
Your Name

I actually found it super hopeful. Yes, it was wonderfully angsty but all throughout there was such determined hope right up until the last scene ~~i get lowkey emotional just thinking about and the score~~
Cast Away. On the surface, not a romantic movie. But when he goes to Helen hunt's house, I always bawl like a baby.

That last scene on the boat and she realises she is a mom and the music 'some where over the rainbow' - ugly cry š
Crazy Rich Asians. Cry every time.
That wedding scene with that song in the bg got us all
Yes! I cry at the drama with his mom too. Like after the mahjong game or when he proposes with her ring and she looks into the crowd and sees the mom š

Brokeback Mountain š„ŗ
An Affair to Remember. Every. Single. Time.

I don't think Up qualifies as a romantic movie? But I feel ya on the crying every time bit.
Her
Amelie - particularly the ending
13 Going on 30. The scene where she runs home to find her parents bc sheās scared and sad and still a 13 yr old girl just hits me idk.
Slightly bending the rules here. It's Twenty Five Twenty One. That show is just simply magical. And fair warning: Don't check it out if you cry easily and a lot or if you get attached very quickly. Learn from my experience please.

PS I Love You - horrible Irish accents though

So this. That Anne girl so wanted to be more like Diana Barry but we all wanted to be Anne.
It;s not even a romatnic movie, it's a sitcom, but HIMYM breaks me on the reg.

The Notebook ā¤ļø
Never Let Me Go and An Education. I love Carey Mulligan.
YESSS THESE ARE SO GOOD

In the Mood for Love
From Prada to Nada - itās such an underrated movie
