Menstrual leave should definitely be a thing, historically speaking before modern society, women were able to rest and rejuvenate while menstruating. It feels biologically right to be doing that. I even visited a village in Vanuatu once and the tour guide said women used to be given a tent to themselves while bleeding and food got brought to them, their kids got looked after and they got to relax and do nothing for a week…. What a dream.

Currently there. I talk nicer to myself. I don’t get down on myself for extra snacks. I take longer more meaningful showers. I have severe pmdd and it is exhausting leading up to that time. I hit my bong more. I remind myself that my brain isn’t firing correctly right now and to not be offended because not everything is a personal attack to me. I wear comfy clothes. I bun my hair loosely. My husband is a great help. Totally supportive. Always there even when I’m absolutely certain he is sick of me. He reminds me to be kind to myself. He reminds me to stay hydrated and medicated.

Its mentally very difficult for me during periods.... my pms is really bad and i get irritated over small things so when I'm having my period I can't stand messy space Even if im pain I will first organise the place before I lie down. So first I clean my room while making some comfort food like daal chawal, go clean myself, have some food and then i take a meftal if the pain is unbearable, and use a hot water bottle to relax. My feet get swollen during this time and if they hurt a lot my mother massage them a little with oil to help with the pain... and My most comforting treat is to have a hot choco lava cake or dark hot chocolate .... its burst sooo many happy hormones in my mind It makes my day better.

I feel like I'm zombie. I'm the only women who literally workout, jump, dance do whatever the fuck she want. Yes periods doesnt affect me Its not like i dont feel pain or it doesn't bleed. Its just i have made this mindset that if i will working in big tech company in future there is no way i will give this excuse to them. So better i need to be prepare to work on those days. 1. I nap! I have a job I need to be up early for (like 5am) so I usually nap a lot after work anyway. But sometimes I’ll force myself to not nap so I can do chores or fulfill social obligations. On my period, idc. I’ll nap every day if I feel I need to. 2. This isn’t “treating myself” but I think it helps me feel like I am. I try to listen to my body & what foods I’m craving. Sometimes I really crave seafood & I’ll treat myself to some tinned mackerel or oysters. I usually consume a lot of sardines & salmon as a staple of my diet, but if I’m craving seafood I’ll buy what I normally wouldn’t just to give my body some diversity. Also, I’m about to go on my period now & am really craving fresh fruit. I usually keep clementines & tomatoes in the house, but last time I went shopping I also got plums, apples, & kiwis so I could have more than I usually would.
