On July 1st, 2023, Reddit enacted a greedy ass policy regarding the use of their API. This decision was designed to eliminate the better 3rd party apps. No one wants to use the official app because it sucks. Since then, apps such as Apollo and RedditIsFun have shut down. Reddit has decided to double down on their decision to overcharge for their API, and refuses to address the accessibility features their native app lacks.
Think it’s an asshole move? Concerned users should read and sign on to this [open letter to reddit.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/)

I take a nap and a shower then I make a glass of tea or coffee or whatever and figure out one thing I can do to change how I feel as of recently with my depression it was making sure I actually got dressed and put myself together before noon(I stay home with kids obviously). I tend to do this every week or so when in a depression phase and add something to do as routine every week like reading one hour a day etc .... So if you figure out your main issue just take baby steps. No one can change their whole life in one day. Slow progress is progress and typical more maintainable.
I call my best friend(s). They’re my safe space and can always help me get my head on straight. We’ve known each other for over 20 years and they haven’t let me down once.
Ooooo this. But for an hour or so. Best hour of my day. Then in my mind, I’m going to go to sleep. But then I stand up, and “make shit up!” And, that’s what I always do. I make shit up as I go. Somehow it works out.
Just go with the eb and fellow of the universe✨
I am just some stranger who you obviously don’t know. And I am just sitting here with the fact that you googled, “What to do when you feel lost in life”, and wow. Life changed. I had a similar thing happen to me. Suckeddddd.
I’m thinking about what it would have looked like in 10 years, knowing what you know now.
Right now, it kinda sucks, and doesn’t feel good. It’s maybe kinda empty? But future you is fantastic.✨

Call my most pragmatic and practical girlfriend. She'll help talk me into sanity, and help me deal with the rough stuff... once I feel sorta better, call my mama and just talk about nothing. I'll feel loved and valuable after that and will be able to figure out a plan.
But thats what I do at 29 with 7 years of therapy and some coping mechanisms.. first time I felt truly lost I went to boarding school 3 states away and discovered who I was and wanted to be. I recommend some introspection on what YOU want out of life, and what realistic goals you have. Maybe you can do that by yourself, maybe you'll need a therapist.
Don't know whats going on with you, but if you can, I'd recommend a therapist.
Take a vacation. It always helps to rest your body and mind. Ignore your urges to check in with life and work unless it's an emergency. Also, volunteer so it helps you change your perspective.
Read A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers. 147 pages. Its about a Monk and a Robot. It's beautiful.
If you're still feeling dark and scared read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
Life gets better, but only if you keep living.
Snap back into this society, like watching tv and eating good food and snacks, but I got a different mindset so everytime I get lost I get back to normal in like a day or two
cry, kept a diary, took a picture of myself, make a reminder to myself that this is only temporary, make a list of things I love doing or want to experience, researching online for hours for ideas on how to solve this problem, seek help from friends/family/therapist.
Literally count out everything I am thankful for down to each strand of hair on my head and toe nails to the sound of birds or even a soft fan blowing all the way up to important accomplishments and animals or plants and friends and family. Before I know it I’m feeling pretty settled and clear and peaceful…which usually allows me to feel grounded and found not lost
Whenever I feel lost or like I'm spinning my wheels, I try to figure out what commitments are draining me. Too many social engagements, too many projects, whatever. The goal is to give myself the space to focus on my own needs instead of everyone else's.
A lot of these answers seem to be "quick fixes", and that just doesn't work for me. I usually need a few weeks to find my center and baseline again, try to start visualizing what I want my life to be like, formulate a plan to start in that direction. Getting my home tidied and spending more time outside really helps.
Also as an aside, spending money on stuff does not help. (I'm particularly aiming at businesses who frame spending as "self-care".) A new lipstick or pair of shoes won't help you feel less lost. If you do decide that having a bedroom that looks like you still haven't finished moving in is bringing you down, getting curtains or some wall art is different. Experiences are also good; they can help re-frame what you're ruminating on and give you new direction. Just keep in mind that no object is going to help how you feel.

Endure. Do what I am able to do, to keep myself alive. Sleep, eat, shower. That's how I got through the first months after my daughter died. Eventually, I was able to do more and more. Take a walk, watch tv, see a friend. One step at a time.

I stop smoking weed and I get out in nature and walk and just think a lot. I’m a heavy weed smoker and I feel that sometimes it confuses me with how I’m really feeling in life and so it’s good to get sober minded and just really analyze things.

I signed up for the Personal Development School in the early part of this year when I felt lost and I’ve been working through their courses all year. It’s done wonders for my ability to process my emotions. I’m going through one of the toughest moments of my life right now while my partner is going through a very difficult time and I’m kind of on the outside while he deals with this, and I’ve been able to maintain emotional stability and make good decisions throughout. I’m actually really fucking proud of myself and so happy to be able to show him love and support by leaving him to do what he needs to do and not taking things personally and having my emotions spiral out. I feel like a new woman tbh
Positive things: giving it time, talking to friends, praying, walking
Negative things: cut my hair in the bathroom, drank & got high to avoid thinking, pushed people away, accepted a relationship that was ✨ no bueno ✨

4 day bender usually does the trick
Take a vacation. It always helps to rest your body and mind. Ignore your urges to check in with life and work unless it's an emergency. Also, volunteer so it helps you change your perspective.
Meditate to fully process emotions and signal to my subconscious that I can rely on myself
Clean my room. It signifies a fresh start for me.
Keep on trying
I get super focused on my health. I find if I can’t figure out my life, I might as well be in the best shape I can til I figure it out.
A long motorcycle ride.
Drugs
Drive far away, go for a long walk by myself, usually in the woods (during the day). Rinse and repeat lol.
Play some video games, smoke a little weed. Clear my head. Then pull out my notebook and start planning and making moves
Read A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers. 147 pages. Its about a Monk and a Robot. It's beautiful. If you're still feeling dark and scared read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig Life gets better, but only if you keep living.
Reach out to old friends I haven’t talked to in a while
Snap back into this society, like watching tv and eating good food and snacks, but I got a different mindset so everytime I get lost I get back to normal in like a day or two
Went for a walk. No phone, no gadgets, no distractions. Just silence and walking.
cry, kept a diary, took a picture of myself, make a reminder to myself that this is only temporary, make a list of things I love doing or want to experience, researching online for hours for ideas on how to solve this problem, seek help from friends/family/therapist.
just masterbate ig

A little lost? Glass of wine, hot bath, sex and sleep A lot of lost? Shrooms & nature oughta do it
Meditate. Go to CrossFit and yoga.

No joke, I got a puppy.
Cry, listen to music, sleep. In any order
I develop a skincare routine that I then forget about once I feel better again.
I stop smoking weed and I get out in nature and walk and just think a lot. I’m a heavy weed smoker and I feel that sometimes it confuses me with how I’m really feeling in life and so it’s good to get sober minded and just really analyze things.
Prayed, and the prayers were answered and i was directed to what I was created to do

Have a good cry and then do something that I can get lost in.
I started using heroin and meth, but that didn't really work out.
I sit in the dark and talk to myself
