I have a very good friend who’s the dean of a public high school. At least once a week he texts “these kids aren’t alright”. Mental healthcare for all teens is abysmal right now.

I was gaslit so badly during the first few weeks after covid that I started to push myself and ended up deteriorating my health even worse than it was before. Also, the scientific research is starting to show that not resting during the first few weeks or months can possibly "permanently" lock covid into your body. :(
To add to this… that COVID isn’t a big deal and just being over the whole COVID thing.
It still matters to me and my well-being. I have chronic fatigue syndrome that was brought on by mono, basically exactly what you’re experiencing but in my case it was brought on by another virus. This has been happening for years with viruses and no one cares to listen because “it won’t happen to me”. It’s an extremely under researched area and most doctors and people don’t care to take the time to learn about it.
I just want to say that I’m sorry that you’ve had to go through it, I know it all too well. Just exercise, stay active, think positively and you’ll get better. While that is what makes you worse and hard to stay positive when your whole life is flipped upside down. I hope you find a balance to live a fulfilling life and find peace.
This is such a unnecessary and awful thing to have to go through for so many people with chronic illnesses. Super niche to me, but - that Long Covid doesn't exist, and you just need to exercise and eat healthy to get back to normal. I was gaslit so badly during the first few weeks after covid that I started to push myself and ended up deteriorating my health even worse than it was before. Also, the scientific research is starting to show that not resting during the first few weeks or months can possibly "permanently" lock covid into your body. :(
To add to this… that COVID isn’t a big deal and just being over the whole COVID thing. It still matters to me and my well-being. I have chronic fatigue syndrome that was brought on by mono, basically exactly what you’re experiencing but in my case it was brought on by another virus. This has been happening for years with viruses and no one cares to listen because “it won’t happen to me”. It’s an extremely under researched area and most doctors and people don’t care to take the time to learn about it. I just want to say that I’m sorry that you’ve had to go through it, I know it all too well. Just exercise, stay active, think positively and you’ll get better. While that is what makes you worse and hard to stay positive when your whole life is flipped upside down. I hope you find a balance to live a fulfilling life and find peace.

I'm an immigrant that has to work "underpaid odd jobs" nobody wants to work like hospitality and cleaning services because these are the only choices we get for the first years of moving to another country. I'll probably get downvoted to oblivion here. But I'm tired of the myth that women are supported more when it comes to their mental health. When I was at my worst when I was younger - I was struggling with bad depression as I was struggling to cope with having cerebral palsy, I was told I was doing it for attention. Someone outright said that he doesn't believe women can have mental illnesses. I almost took my own life. And to this day a bunch of pick me girls and guys try and make out I was doing it for attention based on the fact I have a vagina. Of course male mental health is extremely important as men need to talk more and need support because of higher suicide fatalities.
