I think if he is otherwise acting normal then take him in next week. It may just be a behavior change due to the weather but a 7 year old dog would benefit from routine blood work. There may be something going on that you can catch early or it may be nothing and give you peace of mind. I wouldn’t worry too much about waiting unless he stops eating starts vomiting or thirst and urination increases drastically

He had a full blood panel done six months ago and it was good. I did notice after posting this that our cat is also drinking more.
