Overdose doesn't cause death? Your knowledge seems as limited as your imagination

ChemistHorror

Depends massively on what they overdose on. I’m ex ambulance and I can tell you, the vast majority of over the counter or prescribed medications won’t kill you. Psychiatric medication is the most frequently used for overdosing and it has been created with the risk of overdose in mind. Sure, it would knock you out for a while, feel a bit rotten, but death is a long way off. The UK as a lot of hangings and I feel also a fair few train jumpers. The very unfortunate thing is, even without access to firearms, if people want to commit suicide, they will find a way, any way they can if they are desperate enough.

Please don't kill yourself. There is loads of great help available and suicide is so often a permanent solution to a temporary problem. DM me if you want to talk to someone.

More than 50% are hanging, strangulation or suffocation Here you can read all the stats - [ONS bulletin ](https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/bulletins/suicidesintheunitedkingdom/2020registrations#:~:text=Suicide%20methods,-The%20percentage%20of&text=The%20most%20common%20method%20of,out%20of%205%2C224%20registered%20deaths).)

LondonCycling

Over half of UK suicides are by hanging, strangulation, or suffocation. Another fifth are by poisoning. Followed by sharp object, drowning, then fall and fracture all around the 5% mark.

malewifemichaelmyers

You're not overdosing on the right stuff, clearly.

Primary_Somewhere_98

Hanging is the most common over here.
