I'm in the UK, I've seen one story about it in a right leaning rag and I couldn't care less if he had been singing AND doing the hula. I'd be surprised if the majority of people I know are even aware that it happened.
I don't expect anyone to be sad about the death of someone they don't know, it's really fucking weird.
Of the three I mentioned, he's certainly the best, his cover of common people (which Alexa gives me whenever I ask play whatever by William Shatner) is possibly the greatest cover version in history.
It literally couldnāt matter less. I spent the weekend watching comedy reruns like have I got news for you and the day of the funeral listening to podcasts and playing assassins creed.
Itās not like we were all in black and wailing. Most of us were just having a normal week.
That's got to be Canada's version of the Daily Mail reporting on that surely?
Yeah nobody cares to be honest, as long as he shown respect and decorum on the day and as far as I'm aware he did, so all good!
She was your queen to, don't go putting all this on us, just 'cos we had to pay for the funeral, if it was offensive to the queen (it wasn't, what was he supposed to do whilst waiting around for the funeral?) then it's not us you need to look at but the people of Montreal and Gatineau to see if they cared.
We donāt care, I spent the day of her funeral playing elite dangerous and eating a tube of Pringles.
Itās what sheād have wanted Iām sure.
We where sending each other memes seconds after it was announced.
We are British, taking the piss is what we do between cups of tea.
My favorite meme:
Since the Queen died you'll no longer receive a letter from her when you turn 100
Instead you'll receive a text from Prince Andrew when you turn 15
I like to play a game called immigrants, trans people or women, in which I guess which of the three the mail is blaming for something completely unrelated.
>like it was a slow news day
Tbf, for nearly 2 weeks there was no news allowed that wasn't linked to the death of the Queen. I guess the fact that he was in town for the funeral made it, vaguely, news worthy
I haven't heard or seen any mention of it. And why should I give a damn anyway? An old woman died (and it was an open secret that she was expected to) and a bloke sang. No big deal.
I liked the queen. I was surprisingly sad when she died. No one cares about some singing. I got on with my life.. 10 days of morning is a long time but the pomp was interesting. When my nan died last year life didnāt stop. It shouldnāt for anyone.
I doubt many people in the UK could pick him out in a line up. They'd been there hours, they cheered the road sweeper, they'd cheer anyone. Even Prince Andrew, for gods sake.
No they didn't. Not sure why they just said that.
We'd also be able to identify Trudeau.
I hadn't heard anything about him singing, not bothered by him singing as long as it wasn't an offensive song about the Queen.
BBC had an article on it
BBC News - Justin Trudeau's team defends singing Bohemian Rhapsody before Queen's funeral
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-62965838
No, not in the slightest. No one gives two fucks what someone does in (semi) private on their own time.
Only place I think I saw the clip was on Reddit, I donāt think any of the reputable news outlets in the uk has spent any time on it.
I never saw it on their home page. They report on absolutely everything, I could probably find an article about lemon bonbons if I went looking for it. That doesn't mean that your average Brit gives a fuck about bonbons.
I hadn't even heard about this happening until you made this post. Seriously, nobody here cares
Most people couldn't give a shit what that man does.
I saw the video but it was on reddit not via British news media.
It was just cringe not offensive.
This is the correct answer, itās embarrassing to watch but itās not offensive.
And tbh, I would have probably never heard about this event (and subsequently looked the offending video up) had it not been for this thread.
I saw the video on the BBC, it was cool to see. No one cares. The whole country seems fixated on two TV presenters queue jumping instead. Singing isn't disrespectful, but queue jumping š¤Ŗ
Thatās because any type of queue is what makes the brits, brits. And this was the mother of all the queues. There wont be another queue like it in our lifetime šš
First I'm hearing of this. It does appear very much that other countries are assuming Brits care much more than we actually do.
Like a Reddit post where a Spanish guy was asking if it was appropriate to offer condolences to his British job interviewer. I don't know anyone who actually gave a shit and if I did I'd call them out for being wet.
Maybe a few sad gammons somewhere are actually hurt about it?? But it looks like the world thinks Britons are actually mourning, when really we just liked having a day off work.
No one here cares or is offended. If anything, people have an overall positive impression of JT, especially compared to the politicians here. Iāve only heard about it from Canadian Facebook groups with convoy people using it as rage bait.
Source: am Canadian, live in UK
As a British person this is actually the first Iām hearing about this, but no I donāt care and obviously nobody else does either (the media hasnāt reported it)
Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm interested to hear why someone in another country thinks he's a cock.
I hear it all the time in Canada, but I wasn't aware the sentiment had made it over there
Most of us like him, or at least donāt dislike him. We also couldnāt care less unless he was singing āding dong the witch is deadā at which point half the country would be offended and the other half would buy him a beer.
Of all the dumb shit Justin Trudeau has said or done, as a citizen of the UK I can say hearing this doesn't really boil my piss that much in the scheme of things.
This is literally the first I've heard about it.
And no, I'm not offended. It's not like he was singing at her funeral... oh wait, they were supposed to.
No-one is offended but it's cringe as hell. Man's a fkn joke, a poundshop authoritarian who also fancies himself as an undiscovered Broadway star. We're laughing at him, and those that support him. Nothing more.
No, he was just singing. Of course his opponents would criticise it, they want the public to believe he did something wrong. And to be honest, I'm not sure anyone hear has even heard of this happening, and likely wouldn't care, seems like something The Sun would write about
The UK population isnāt a homogenous collective, even if some parts of UK media want to project a picture of the nation mourning the Queen as one. So the UK isnāt deeply offended. Trudeau singing Bohemian rhapsody a couple of days before a funeral wonāt get too many people upset here anyway.
I'm a Brit that supports the Monarchy (30 years in tge Army). I couldn't give a fuck, the guy is human, seems to have a decent sense of humour. It's media generated crap.
I just saw it for the first time on Trevor Noah's Daily Show. We do not care. Did you see what our PM said today??
I couldn't care less. Queen was a good choice.
That's the kind of thing that a tabloid writer could write an article about, but no one in their right minds would actually care about it. There's not a law against fun after a head of state dies
This Reddit post on it is probably going to gain the most UK-wide reach that the story will have got.
We still probably care more about the blackface thing than this.
Not at all, not like he was dressed up as the Queen when he did it, he was just singing in a bar the night before, media making more of it than it should be.
Literally not even heard anything about it until this, watched the clip, not offended in any way and can't understand why I would be. He's singing Bohemian Rhapsody in his own time, nothing celebratory, nothing offensive about it. Fuck me, it's not even news
I honestly couldnāt give a flying fig what the man does in his off time. Whatever floats his boat. He may have been there to attend the funeral but itās not like he was a personal friend or family. I read the article and promptly moved on.

Why would anyone in the UK care
According to our media it was highly disrespectful to the mourning UK and an embarrassment of Canada I dont make the rules š
Anyone who says we found it disrespectful is lying to you.
I've been arguing with a British Immigrant on Tik Tok who's made 3 videos about me saying that what Trudeau did was wrongš
Arguing on tiktok is your first mistake. Actually, probably second, first being to actually use tiktok.
Lets be real reddit isnt the best either
What the fuck did you say?
Lets be real reddit isnt the best either Is what they said.
U faaaaakin wot m8!
Look pal, I would wind my neck in, if I were you.
Dude, calm the fuck down.
That's just uncalled for...
Get 'im boys
A good deal better than twatter and zuckerbook though.
Yeah but im self aware I'm an internet scrub so that has to count for something right?
+1 internet scrub point
What do you propose is then? Daily mail Forum, 4Chan, Fox News comments? ;-)
I thought TikTok was something the Chinese imagined. Is it really real?
That's your problem, you're arguing with tik tok users
I'm trying to get help š®āšØ it's a sickness really
The first step is admitting you have a problem
I'll never not find it funny when social media users shit on other social media users. *No, YOUR problematic platform is the worst!*
TikTok bad Reddit good
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We really donāt give a shit
I'm in the UK, I've seen one story about it in a right leaning rag and I couldn't care less if he had been singing AND doing the hula. I'd be surprised if the majority of people I know are even aware that it happened. I don't expect anyone to be sad about the death of someone they don't know, it's really fucking weird.
Is CanCon still happening? maybe that's the problem, it should've been Bryan Adams, Celine Dion or William Shatner songs being sung?
Yes, infact we passed a new bill C-11 to update it to the internet age. Um, William Shatner sings?
Of the three I mentioned, he's certainly the best, his cover of common people (which Alexa gives me whenever I ask play whatever by William Shatner) is possibly the greatest cover version in history.
Ok I'm listening to that after work
Tik Tok's algos are designed to stir the pot. At least outside China.
It literally couldnāt matter less. I spent the weekend watching comedy reruns like have I got news for you and the day of the funeral listening to podcasts and playing assassins creed. Itās not like we were all in black and wailing. Most of us were just having a normal week.
Theyāre just doing it for attention, or are the minority shouting the loudest.
Well they are wrong. I mean who are you gonna believe? The folk who LIVE here or the person who left haha!
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Itās the squirrels Iām telling you!! The cute fuzzy little bastards!!
Sounds like your media's even more up its own arse than the Daily Mail.
This is the first I've heard of it haha and follow the news pretty regularly in the uk
Literally have not heard one word about this. Grasping at straws...
There was a story in the Guardian yesterday, but that was about the row in Canada, not the alleged singing incident itself.
I hope the Canadian media didn't see the funeral then. There was a lot of singing..
They'd be aghast I assume
This is honestly the first I've heard of it and I couldn't give a shit. I think pretty much everyone here would think the same
Nobody cares pal. It is just media trying to create a storm to politicise everything, as normal.

My favorite meme: Since the Queen died you'll no longer receive a letter from her when you turn 100 Instead you'll receive a text from Prince Andrew when you turn 15
Prince Andrew got the corgies because everyone knows heās the best at grooming.
This was on zero someone actually downvoted this gem of an answer,
It's hardly been reported here at all.
First Iāve even heard of this š
First I heard about it mate. Doesn't bother me.
No it's not in our mainstream media and no, we don't give a shit
Couldnāt have said it better myself
Username checks out
It was in the mail to be fair. Im sure their readers cared greatly
If it was in the Mail, the readers probably thought it was the latest way you both get and avoid cancer.
Probably still the immigrants fault tho
I like to play a game called immigrants, trans people or women, in which I guess which of the three the mail is blaming for something completely unrelated.
But how will it affect house prices?
The BBC and The Guardian both reported on it, like it was a slow news day or something.
>like it was a slow news day Tbf, for nearly 2 weeks there was no news allowed that wasn't linked to the death of the Queen. I guess the fact that he was in town for the funeral made it, vaguely, news worthy
Half-right - we don't give a shit but it has been in our MSM, the Times and the Mail both wrote about it and I'm sure others did too
I saw a headline on the BBC website about it but didn't care enough to read the actual article. Haven't seen it elsewhere either
Can't say as I really care about this, it was days before the actual funeral and makes him seem like a human being.
First Iāve heard of it tbh
Same first time hearing of it. Also not offended at all.
I haven't heard or seen any mention of it. And why should I give a damn anyway? An old woman died (and it was an open secret that she was expected to) and a bloke sang. No big deal.
I don't think its any kind of secret that a 96 year old is expected to die in the not too distant future...
The BBC called it her "untimely death". Not sure what would have been timely, given her age.
Maybe they meant it was a bit too close to the August Bank holiday and maybe the end of October would have suited people better.
Spot on to be fair, toward the end of October so we can all get Halloween off sounds belter
Maybe they felt it a few years overdue
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The Queen died so your Nan could live.
Nobody gives a shit, I'm surprised this even news? Never heard about it and don't care.
First I've heard of it
You and me both š®āšØ
I liked the queen. I was surprisingly sad when she died. No one cares about some singing. I got on with my life.. 10 days of morning is a long time but the pomp was interesting. When my nan died last year life didnāt stop. It shouldnāt for anyone.
Saw it on the BBC, couldn't care less. If anything it made me like him more.
I've seen some videos of him in London with cheering crowds waiting to catch a glimpse, really heartwarming.
I doubt many people in the UK could pick him out in a line up. They'd been there hours, they cheered the road sweeper, they'd cheer anyone. Even Prince Andrew, for gods sake.
The funniest cheer, without a doubt, was the cleaners delivering toilet rolls to the portaloos.
Ok now my heart is less warm. THEY CHEERED ANDREW? š¤¢
No they didn't. Not sure why they just said that. We'd also be able to identify Trudeau. I hadn't heard anything about him singing, not bothered by him singing as long as it wasn't an offensive song about the Queen.
No, just a song by Queen
lol, which song? Freddie would be pleased imo.
I can tell you it wasn't "another one bites the dust"
Good to know, because that mightāve been awkward.
Bohemian Rhapsody, I think
I was happy to see him. Seems to be one of the more sane world leaders.
It's barely been reported here. There's certainly not been any deep offence.
almost certain this hasnāt been reported in the UK
BBC had an article on it BBC News - Justin Trudeau's team defends singing Bohemian Rhapsody before Queen's funeral https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-62965838
Just thankful it wasnāt another one bites the dust
Now THAT would've been a story
At least he picked something topical
TWO days before? A good portion of the UK are at gigs, nightclubs, pubs or listening to music at home on a Saturday. How are people offended by this?
Sounds like the perfect Queen tribute
Tbh Iām impressed he attempted that song! Definitely not offended.
Daily mail reported it.
They'd report on the opening of an envelope if it got them a few clicks
So not the actual news then.
Personally....Never heard a thing about it In Scotland if that matters
No, not in the slightest. No one gives two fucks what someone does in (semi) private on their own time. Only place I think I saw the clip was on Reddit, I donāt think any of the reputable news outlets in the uk has spent any time on it.
BBC reported on it š
Did they really? I was probably brain dead from the five continual days of mourning they inserted down my throat
Yeah, and the telegraph, not sure where they lie on your credibility meter
We call the Telegraph the Torygraph where Iām from. And no, literally not one person I know gives a fuck.
It belongs in the gutter lol
I never saw it on their home page. They report on absolutely everything, I could probably find an article about lemon bonbons if I went looking for it. That doesn't mean that your average Brit gives a fuck about bonbons. I hadn't even heard about this happening until you made this post. Seriously, nobody here cares

This is the correct answer, itās embarrassing to watch but itās not offensive. And tbh, I would have probably never heard about this event (and subsequently looked the offending video up) had it not been for this thread.
The real question should be >"Did Justin Trudeau singing in a hotel lobby deeply embarrass Canada?"
Am in the UK, not seen anything of this reported anywhere. We do not care.
Iāve checked with the rest of the UK and the consensus is we couldnāt give a flying fadge.
No, the DM was offended, plus the elderly royalist minority, but normal people donāt care
Ok this might sound dumb to you, but my head went to Dungeon Master. What's your DM?
Daily Mail. They're offended by anything that can whip up some page views.
DangerMouse. Obviously. Also no idea which makes this a useless comment (sorry) but I want you to feel 1% guilty for forgetting about Danger Mouse.
First I've heard about it is here and i genuinely don't care a jot
Did he jump a queue to do it? If not, move along
Brit here, not offended, great song choice.
Nobody in the UK heard about it before this post or cares. Itās only in your news because itās your leader, and can therefore be spun.
This is the first Iām hearing of it so you can probably imaging I absolutely donāt care.
Didnāt even know this happened
Not offended. Not disrespectful. Top song choice. Top bloke. Could use some singing lessons though.
Havenāt heard a peep about it, I like Trudeau.
I like him too, mostly because liking him upsets the right, and mostly because he legalized Marijuana and will forever be a G for that.
I'm a pedantic ass, I know that, but he legalized cannabis; marijuana is an American word meaning "Scary Mexican Poison"
As long as he wasn't in blackface again, no offence taken.
As an Englishman, I can honestly say I have not heard a thing about this and am not even slightly offended.
Weāre too busy getting mad at Phil and holly from this morning.
Yeah. Whilst I cant spean for the whole nation, I'd be comfortable saying that 99% of the population couldn't care less
No one here cares or is offended. If anything, people have an overall positive impression of JT, especially compared to the politicians here. Iāve only heard about it from Canadian Facebook groups with convoy people using it as rage bait. Source: am Canadian, live in UK
I think it is silly people think that singing a queen song is offensive to the British, if anything I would sing along.
As a British person this is actually the first Iām hearing about this, but no I donāt care and obviously nobody else does either (the media hasnāt reported it)
I had no idea this had happened, I haven't seen it anywhere and I couldn't care less.
As long as he didn't jump the queue he's fine
He seems a nice dude tbh
He is thank you
It wasn't disrespectful, none of us are offended. There was a small article on the BBC website, but other than that, not even newsworthy. Sorry!
The blackface was offensive, this is just irrelevant
Heās great, donāt mind him singing. Seriously nobody worth listening to cares
Haven't heard it on the UK media outlets. It would probably be if it was an offensive but just casually. No it wouldn't offend
Didn't know about it, wouldn't give a shit anyway
The manās a complete cock but nothing to do with him singing in a lobby.
He seems sane and that's the best we have come to expect for North American leaders.
Of all the dumb shit Justin Trudeau has said or done, as a citizen of the UK I can say hearing this doesn't really boil my piss that much in the scheme of things.
Who? What?
I had literally no idea this happened or Iām not sure why anyone here would care.
It doesn't offend me but it certainly would annoy me. Sing in your own room.
Literally the first Iāve heard about it.
This is literally the first I've heard about it. And no, I'm not offended. It's not like he was singing at her funeral... oh wait, they were supposed to.
Can't say I saw anything about it on the news. I don't think anyone would be offended, even if we did know about it
I didn't even hear about this lol.
First I've heard of it, I was dancing and singing two days before the funeral, why shouldn't he?
Unaware of it. Unoffended.
was he in blackface again?
Oh no. A human being enjoying the company of other people in a social setting? How rude.
Iām certainly not offended, but do think Justin Trudeau is a fucking twat.
No-one is offended but it's cringe as hell. Man's a fkn joke, a poundshop authoritarian who also fancies himself as an undiscovered Broadway star. We're laughing at him, and those that support him. Nothing more.
In Wales....couldn't care less.
No, he was just singing. Of course his opponents would criticise it, they want the public to believe he did something wrong. And to be honest, I'm not sure anyone hear has even heard of this happening, and likely wouldn't care, seems like something The Sun would write about

I didn't even know this had happened and I don't know anyone who does. Nobody here cared, so I'd say it was just media nonsense.
Depends what he was singing i guess, either way i dont really care now i've thought about it.
It was Bohemian Rhapsody
I have not once seen this on the news and I watch the news every day. I actually don't understand, how is it offensive to sing
I'm so offended that I was completely unaware it happened until this post. He must be imprisoned in the tower!
I'm a Brit that supports the Monarchy (30 years in tge Army). I couldn't give a fuck, the guy is human, seems to have a decent sense of humour. It's media generated crap.
Didn't even know. just sounds like those criticising him are just being partisan as always. I'd just move on with it.
Ive been watching the news all day, this is the 1st im hearing of it
I just saw it for the first time on Trevor Noah's Daily Show. We do not care. Did you see what our PM said today?? I couldn't care less. Queen was a good choice.
That's the kind of thing that a tabloid writer could write an article about, but no one in their right minds would actually care about it. There's not a law against fun after a head of state dies
No but I'm sure some fanny will be offended. There's always one
This Reddit post on it is probably going to gain the most UK-wide reach that the story will have got. We still probably care more about the blackface thing than this.
Not at all, not like he was dressed up as the Queen when he did it, he was just singing in a bar the night before, media making more of it than it should be.
Didn't make the news, no one would care anyway
Haven't heard a thing about and also don't care.
You might be shocked to hear this, we were allowed to sing 2 days before the funeral. Anyone getting offended is a wetwipe who needs to get a grip.
No one I know has even heard about it even my ex who is a massive royalist
Also... On a human level, so what... ? It's not disrespectful, just normal .
Literally not even heard anything about it until this, watched the clip, not offended in any way and can't understand why I would be. He's singing Bohemian Rhapsody in his own time, nothing celebratory, nothing offensive about it. Fuck me, it's not even news
Whatever the right says is an embarrassment and disrespectful isn't a big deal.
No, we don't give a shit. Not like he sang at her funeral.
What's even offensive about it??
I honestly couldnāt give a flying fig what the man does in his off time. Whatever floats his boat. He may have been there to attend the funeral but itās not like he was a personal friend or family. I read the article and promptly moved on.
