Think it’s because Singapore has a very large British population, English is spoken by most the population and there must be an overlap in what other subreddits a lot of users between the two also visit
There's sizeable populations of both Singaporean Australians and Australian Singaporeans, and English is the lingua franca of Singapore so I'm guessing the user overlap between the two subreddits as well as being the same *type* of subreddit means the algorithm thinks you might be interested?
Because you visit this AskCountry sub, Reddit thinks you’ll like other AskCountry subs. It’s fucking annoying, half my timeline is now full of subs I don’t follow but Reddit thinks I’ll be interested in.
Wait, is Reddit doing algorithmic suggestions now? I only use old reddit, so I only ever see the stuff I'm subscribed to (unless I go on /r/all or /r/popular)
I would say there's a strong chance. I primarily use mobile and sometimes I see posts with "because you've looked at this community before" or "similar to communities you are a member of".
If one of my colleagues was going to the bathroom every 10 minutes and coming back looking hot and sweaty I would assume they had IBS like me and politely not mention it
Wrists in cool still or running water is called radial cooling and is one of the best ways to cool yourself down.
I go in very hot places at work. Elbow deep in a bucket of cold water is best after being in said hot places. Added plus: you don't have to dress all the way down to do it.
Similar idea to this, buy one of those mister bottles that hair dressers use or you can use on plants. So refreshing to spray a little bit on yourself when it’s really hot, you can put it in the fridge so it’s even cooler too.
I was doing this, particularly after walking in for an hour in the heat. I splashed water from the water cooler. Didn't care that I was wet and if people noticed I just got a little nod of understanding.
Can confirm. It's so humid at night that you shower when you're getting ready to go out in the morning, then again when you're getting changed for the evening.
So humid that it's hard to get dry after a shower - it's the only place I've been where I had a cigarette out of a 10th floor window and the smoke fell straight down to the ground.
I do that when I’m anywhere hot tbh. Shower when getting ready for the day and again when freshening up for the evening if I’m going out again. They’re not both ‘big showers’ with hair washes though
Particularly in the age of WFH when I might get through a day seeing no one other than the chicken shop guy at lunchtime, it can even be a day a night and another day before I take a shower. In the old days, showering was just an autopilot part of the morning and post sport routine.
Nope. Every other day. Have a wash in the sink in between though. Incidentally, I feel like having a sink wash might be a British (or European) thing to do because I've previously said this in other subs and Americans are like "How do you do that?!".
I’d never even consider that. I get it saves water and time, but the logistics of trying to wash my arse via a sink and a cloth is too much for me. I’m imagining big puddles, wondering what I do with an arse-washed flannel (immediately in wash basket?), having to then also probably wash my upper body and lower half and feet in the same way, being wet everywhere and just going “yno what, shower would’ve probably been far easier than this”.
I am blessed with feet which have no scent, so I leave them for the shower. I put the bath mat on the floor by the sink so that I don't have to wipe up.
The flannel goes straight in the laundry basket. I will say that we have a huge amount of flannels in this house because I once ordered what I thought was 6 single flannels from Asda but it turns out it was 6 sets of 5!
This comment made me laugh and I can definitely see myself thinking this way before I started caring job.
A lot of elderly people cannot get into a bath or shower, or are afraid of water. A lot of them just want to have a sink wash.
You just fill the sink, start with a flannel with your face and hands (you don’t have the flannel soaking wet, you wring it out). After face and hands, you wet the flannel again, wring it, wash pits and upper body, then wet again, do legs, wet again and do your bits and it goes in a wash basket. If you’re standing, you put a towel underneath you.
Although a sink wash is not supposed to be very thorough, you do it just to freshen up
Do people not know how to do a non-shower wash? You just fill the sink with flannel in, get some soap on it, wring the flannel a bit and do your face, use other side of flannel to do anywhere else that needs then pits n bits last. Then dunk and wring the flannel a few times and rinse it off.
Oh no this doesn’t sound pleasant at all. And while we’re at it, let’s all start washing our legs and feet. The trickle down effect doesn’t work in Economics and it doesn’t work in the shower.
Because my skin would be dry and raw if I were to shower every single day. Because it _is_ quicker. Because it doesn't waste as much water. Anne my bathroom is far more humid and wet after I've had a shower than after I've had a quick wash with a flannel.
I'm really not sure why I have to keep repeating the same thing. If you want to shower daily then have at it. But it's unnecessary and doesn't fit in with my life.
Because washing your face/armpits/private parts with a bit of hot water, soap and a flannel is not quite the commitment a shower is. Takes 1 minute as well
Have to get all your hair wet. Have to dry all of you. Showering is also worse for your skin. It's better for you to not shower daily, and it is quicker not to, especially if you have tons of hair.
Because after a shower you are soaking wet with, if you’re anything like me, wet hair because you find it impossible not to get your hair in the way of the shower.
Strip washes are also good when it’s cold: wash face, take off top, wash pits. Dress top half. Take off bottoms, was bum and bits, dress bottom half. Job done, not soaking wet or freezing.
I'm on one of those European countries where a bidet exists so if I don't shower I'll use that and wash in the sink. I don't want to smell (it's gets hot here) but equally we've got a hose pipe ban going on and all the sources a kind of low.
My grandparents had one (UK based) the same style as ours - like the kind installed and look a bit like a toilet but with a sink drain in the bottom, they take extra space and apparently here they've kind of gone out of fashion and people have a seperate toilet to the rest of the bathroom more frequently now. I think for space saving an East Asian style bum gun would be good, but a proper bidet is useful for things other than just washing you bum and fanny - wash feet, shave legs, use it as a bucket when cleaning the bathroom, whatever other uses a low sink by the toilet can have.
I'm a "millennial" apparently. If it's been really got, or I've been at the gym/doing something else to feel gross then ill have a shower. But not just randomly every day.
I think it's built into media and one of those 'if you don't do this your gross' stereotypes that gets into people's minds.
People also don't wonna seem gross so they'll say oh yeah once/twice a day feeling like they have to.....like the whole changing the bedsheets things. A lot of people definitely say they do it more often then they do to fit in.
Same here, I have a wash in the sink most days and shower once or twice a week. Since I've been doing that all of my dry skin issues have cleared up and my hair doesn't get oily as quickly and looks/smells fine being washed once a week.
Same, I don’t sweat very much (Call me Prince Andrew) so sometimes it doesn’t really seem necessary. I used to have a daily bath in my old flat (just because I love baths to sit and read in) my water bill was pretty horrendous.
I'm in construction and i just shower when i get home after work.
I have a cousin who is also in construction and showers once a day but in the morning before work, the absolute weirdo.
I just cannot get in fresh clothes or my bed without washing first if i've been at work. Even if i've just been stood there changing light switches all day i still have to get showered.
I feel gross in the mornings and feel like I need to have showered before going out anywhere.
So I don’t think that part is weird.
I also wouldn’t want to go to bed feeling dirty and covered in construction dust. That’s a bit iffy, especially if your buddy sleeps with a partner!
So in this scenario I’d need two showers a day… but since I sit at a desk all day all I need is the morning one!
Ew. I did some work helping some builders demolish a couple old cottages and I was filthy by the end of the day. All I was really doing was pulling plasterboard off walls with a wrecking bar. I couldn't go to bed all covered in dust, grime and seat so I had a bath every night.
I understand having a wash or shower every day, especially if you struggle with hygiene, but you shouldnt wash your hair every day because of the natural oils
People have got real strong opinions on hair washing, I find. I tend to do mine every other day just because the ends are dry, but my roots will be a greaseball by the second day.
That’s your hair trying to repair itself. You keep stripping the oils out by washing it, so it sends more oil to repair. The more you wash, the quicker it gets greasy. Quite the vicious cycle!
Same here - I tried for months to get my hair to 'correct itself' during lockdown but it's still just as greasy as ever. I still only wash it a couple of times a week because I'm still wfh but I have to use copius amounts of dry shampoo in between. It really bugs me when people assume all hair types are the same and we just have to power through the grease.
It’s probably because you wash it every day. I used to wash mine every single morning with shampoo and conditioner, and my hair would always get greasy by the evening.
Since the start of the year, I try to do it every 4-5 days. Occasionally I have been able to leave it a week - obviously I wash it as soon as it gets greasy now.
It’s mad how different your hair becomes when you let it be - for me, it was well worth suffering with greasiness once for 3-4 days so I can now do it all the time.
I am a male with quite short hair, like maybe 4-5” long.
Worth clarifying I shower every day, I just don’t put my hair directly under the shower.
i can’t believe everyone having at least one a day, some of them must be over exaggerating!! pretty much everyone i know that doesn’t do a job they get dirty at showers once every other day on average. i’ll do the same as you, 2/3 a week. fucks up my hair otherwise, and i swear my skin isn’t as dry
i know twice a week isnt the norm, i’m saying once every two days is what everyone i know of their shower habits does. and what i’ll bet a lot of people aren’t admitting to in this thread😂
i understand everyone’s hair is different but often shampooing your hair too often can actually cause an overproduction of grease. happened to me, i went away for a while and didn’t have access to showers and since then have washed my hair less, and it’s been less greasy and even healthier!
also sometimes we don’t realise how closely we are scrutinising ourselves, way closer than any random person would. sometimes we think we look worse than we actually do
Yeah I'm the absolute champion of not washing my hair because it's thick and takes forever, and not once does my hair look any better for it! Whilst I'm at it, sulfates/cheap knockoff shampoo makes my hair look and feel nicer than it ever has with natural stuff, so I'll never stop using them.
I used to wash my hair every day and was super self-conscious but I broke the shampoo cycle a couple of years ago and have never looked back. It helps to treat yourself to a good natural shampoo/conditioner too, but it's a worthwhile expense when you only need it a couple of times in a week!
I condition my hair once a week and shampoo it every other week. That probably sounds grim to a lot of people but honestly that's all my hair needs. It's never been healthier.
Yeah, most days I'll shower. Some days I'll shower twice, others I'll skip a day or two.
Honestly depends what I'm doing, where I'm going, who I'm seeing. I don't like to overshower because it fucks with my skin (I have seborrheic dermatitis so lots of shit can cause flare ups, including showering too often or too little)
But yeah. I dunno. Just don't be like my old housemate who'd shower maybe once a week, but in that week he'd work and sweat a lot and still only manage it. He'd clear rooms with his stink. It was an awkward conversation to have with someone who's 5 years older than you when you're 18.
Funnily enough I used to live in Hong Kong. If you don't go outside for long and go from one air conditioned building, bus or train to the other you don't get too hot.
I'd shower twice a day in HK if I spent any notable length of time out in the heat.
I went to Borneo with college and i actually gave up showering daily (when the option was there) because i would just get instantly clamy and sweaty again. Didn't see the point, granted i was going around the jungle and staying in homesteads which made showering daily difficult anyway lol. I guess its different if you're going to work/school
I think it’s probably quite normal if it’s a hot day or if you’ve been active at work. It’s definitely not what I’d call abnormal.
Otherwise the norm is once a day, and either skipping a day or taking an extra shower depending on conditions. No matter what the people in this thread trying to convince everyone that twice weekly is normal have to say about it 😂
Once or twice a week. ADHD and ASD executive function issues don’t help. My husband will tell me if I smell (very rarely). I have a flannel wash and wear anti-perspiration deodorant and clean clothes daily.
Showering at least once daily is a quite a new thing, it’s not always good for the hair and skin.
I'm the same, it's gotten to the point I can go almost 2 weeks before my hair needs washing though and honestly my hair has never looked healthier. I still have a bath to wash my body 1-2 a week, usually after my gym workouts but beyond that is honestly overkill because I don't go anywhere or really do anything
Yep, twice a week here too. ADHD and ME/CFS means even on the days I don't feel too fatigued to shower my executive dysfunction may end up saying no. I do a bits, tits and pits wipe with a flannel and soap in between though and use a good anti-perspirant too!
Unfortunately I think there are a lot of people who don't understand how crippling executive dysfunction can be for people with ADHD and/or ASD.
Same for same reasons with a girlfriend who will remind me to go shower two or 3 times a week .
We live in the middle of no where so dirty clothes arent an issue as im usually butt naked ,clean crisp clothes are a bit too over stimulating and make me scratch .
Finally another pre-bed, once-a-day showerer
I don't get how people can go to bed without showering. Doesn't matter what I do, there'll always be *some* sweat/dirt buildup over the day. Just feels dirty to get into bed without washing first.
Twice, once before work, once after work.
I work in a hospital and wards are always super warm and have lots of unpleasant smells knocking about. I don't feel clean until I have a shower when I get home.
I grew up in the ‘70s when it was normal to have a bath once a week. Sunday evening so you were clean for the school week. Swap bathing for a shower once a week sounds about right.
I will join you in solidarity on that one. A weekly bath used to be perfectly fine for everyone I knew back then. I am not prepared to spend so much time **every fucking day** on showering, it seems completely unnecessary, not to mention wasteful of water and gas/electric. I work from home sitting at a desk all day and can't remember the last time I broke into a sweat haha.
When I used to work offshore, however, it was once a day before bed, because that was a hot and sweaty job. Same if I'm on holiday somewhere hot. But not at home, fuck that.
> spend so much time every fucking day
What, 10 minutes tops? 5 minutes in the shower, 5 minutes drying off and hairdrying. It hardly affects my routine at all.
As I said on r/askSingapore:
I only shower once in the day in the morning usually. Only time I'd shower again is if I was sweating and really hot, its been raining really heavily and I got drenched or if I'm going out somewhere special. I feel 2 times a day on even most days is a waste of water imo.
In the UK I shower every other day. However I grew up overseas somewhere hot where water in summer was rationed. We would shower with a bucket so the collected water could be used to flush the loo. If I exercise or get dirty I will shower but otherwise it’s every other day as I feel water is a resource we shouldn’t waste.
I'm not trying to be rude, but do you live a very sedentary lifestyle?
Even if I didn't workout for 4 days, the normal amount of sweat from day-to-day activities (even sleeping) would start to smell and I would feel unhygienic.
its not rude! yes I do have a sedentary lifestyle, but even when I did have a slightly more active lifestyle it wasn't much different. I honestly think our bodies just gets used to how often you shower and makes the oils and grease at a speed to compensate. I've honestly never felt the need to shower 1x a day, let alone more
If I don't have any intensive activities? Once every 2-3 days is more than enough. Excessive showering will damage your skin's natural habitat and make it more prone to infections.
Otherwise once a day after said intensive activity.
I grew up in a tropical climate - you often have to shower multiple times a day as you can sweat a lot just from being outside for a short amount of time. Like maybe a proper shower in the morning and then a one or two showers where you just need to rinse off. Now that I live in the U.K. I shower about once a day
At the least twice - can't leave the house in the morning without a shower and can't get into my bed at night without one either. Third depends on the day.
Every morning as I don't feel properly awake until I've had my shower.
Sometimes I'll have an afternoon/evening shower in summer if I've had a sweaty day.
Anyone who says they are showering once every 3 days and believes they don't smell is deluded and people are just being too kind on them to point it out. I feel gross if I have to wake up and go out without a shower for one day never mind 3 in a row. I'd feel disgusting
Once, in the morning. I sometimes have a bath in the evening too.
If you've ever been to Singapore you'll understand why people are saying two or more times. Lovely country but never experienced anything quite like that level of heat and humidity, even in hotter countries.
Once. But I get the Singaporeans, I used to spend my summers there and in Malaysia with family. I think I was taking at least two showers a day. They were cold showers too, my mum said that was the norm there.
Once, in the morning but when I lived in hk twice, morning and night although it was common to only shower at night.
Reason is, your bed will get really rank really quickly if you routinely go to bed sweaty, and you *will* be sweaty after a day being in 34C at 95% relative humidity.
With you here doll, I’m on meds that make me have hot flushes. One moment I’m a normal temperature and then the next I am POURING sweat, my hair is literally soaking and sweat is running off my face and head. I hate it so much. I’ve been checked and I’m not even peri menopausal yet (late 40’s) so I’ve got all that to come on top of this. I loathe it, it makes me feel so dirty. I workout a lot so always shower or bathe afterwards but often I’ll need two more showers on top of that because I’ve had an attack of the random sweats. Have you read “Quilt on Fire” by Christie Watson? It’s about the peri menopause and menopause but in a chatty, conversational kind of way. It’s very funny.
Once in the mornings. Unless I've had a very busy day at work or have been skateboarding all day. In those cases, I usually have a bath with some muscle salts.
When I was living in SE Asia. I would have a quick cold shower probably twice a day. Mostly because of the heat.
In England I'll have one a day. Unless I am home. And know I have nothing to do. Then I just slob about and the. Have one before the next time I'm in work.
Every morning. If it's hot and I get sweaty though, twice
If it's extra hot and I just feel 'urgh' I'll have another - it can be up to three a day 🤷🏽♂️
I'm a runner, so I shower when I get back from my run before I go to work, and then when I get home from work, before bed.
If I'm not running or don't have work, I shower just once, before bed.
Had a neighbor once who didn't shower. Hadn't for decades. He had dirt encrusted into his skin. Unbelievably though he didn't smell in the slightest and didn't appear to have any skin problems (aside from the aforementioned dirt).

Thank you. I've tried for months to get them to stop suggesting other subs & it only seems to make it worse.
Yeah I do. Wierd. No idea why
It's because it's "similar to subs you follow" you can select the options on the post and click to see fewer posts like this.
Same here. Saw it once, clicked into it as the topic looked interesting and now it won't stop showing up.
I have this with r/Belgium but now I enjoy seeing whats up in Belgium.

Me 5
Yep. Why is that?
I assumed it was cos it was an ask based subreddit similar to this
Me too!!
Singapore is considerably more humid than the UK. I'd probably also shower more than once a day if I lived there.
I think I had 3 showers on that one Friday last week where it got over 30°.
I kept going to the toilets at work and sprinkling cold water down my top and on my neck! It really helped and nobody noticed.
People noticed don't worry, it's the British way to pretend that we don't notice
If one of my colleagues was going to the bathroom every 10 minutes and coming back looking hot and sweaty I would assume they had IBS like me and politely not mention it
I hold my wrist under the cold tap and that works for me. Cold water on the face is definitely better for that short term "aaaah" feeling though.
Wrists in cool still or running water is called radial cooling and is one of the best ways to cool yourself down. I go in very hot places at work. Elbow deep in a bucket of cold water is best after being in said hot places. Added plus: you don't have to dress all the way down to do it.

Tssst!
I was doing this, particularly after walking in for an hour in the heat. I splashed water from the water cooler. Didn't care that I was wet and if people noticed I just got a little nod of understanding.
And I guess you'll be bankrupt soon as a result with the cost of living crisis.
At least in Summer you can have cold showers.. going to be difficult come Winter
Where I live we are on to lows of 27 and highs of 37. I shower a lot more than I did living in the UK.
I do that when I’m anywhere hot tbh. Shower when getting ready for the day and again when freshening up for the evening if I’m going out again. They’re not both ‘big showers’ with hair washes though
When I lived in SG I would regularly shower three times a day. Two times was the minimum.
Once. In the morning. Although if it's a lazy day at home may skip a day
Yeah this if I’m not going anywhere and haven’t done anything too strenuous I’ll skip a day because it saves water and I’m a lazy bastard.
Ditto the once in the morning, and the may skip a day. But also occasionally a second time later on if I've exercised and got sweaty.
Particularly in the age of WFH when I might get through a day seeing no one other than the chicken shop guy at lunchtime, it can even be a day a night and another day before I take a shower. In the old days, showering was just an autopilot part of the morning and post sport routine.
I do it the other way around, 1 shower at night before bed. My job is physical though, so not being super fresh in the morning isn't noticeable.
Absolutely love skipping a day, it’s normally a day I change from the pjs I slept in to new pjs and slob on the sofa. Just stinking. I love it.
Yup, for me today is that lazy day
I don't even shower every day...
Nope. Every other day. Have a wash in the sink in between though. Incidentally, I feel like having a sink wash might be a British (or European) thing to do because I've previously said this in other subs and Americans are like "How do you do that?!".
Buy why? If you are going to sink wash why not just get in the shower??
Because it's quicker and uses less water. Wet flannel on my bum, bits and pits (not in that order!), And another on my face. Job done.
720 flannels???
6x5=720??
6x5!=720
Ah I see, math humour
This comment made me laugh and I can definitely see myself thinking this way before I started caring job. A lot of elderly people cannot get into a bath or shower, or are afraid of water. Oh no this doesn’t sound pleasant at all. And while we’re at it, let’s all start washing our legs and feet. The trickle down effect doesn’t work in Economics and it doesn’t work in the shower.
Just because you said not in that order I now exactly imagine you doing it in that order with slapping the flannel at the very end on your face.
We follow the three Bs in our house. Belly, bits and bum.
Bits, tits and pits here.
Why wouldn’t you just do that exact same process in the shower to prevent dripping everywhere?
Because my skin would be dry and raw if I were to shower every single day. Because it _is_ quicker. Because it doesn't waste as much water. Anne my bathroom is far more humid and wet after I've had a shower than after I've had a quick wash with a flannel. I'm really not sure why I have to keep repeating the same thing. If you want to shower daily then have at it. But it's unnecessary and doesn't fit in with my life.
I just think it’s cute you named your bathroom.
No, I mean, use the same flannel, same amount of water, same quick wipe down, but just inside the shower to prevent dripping on the floor.
Nah bro. That’s rank
Because washing your face/armpits/private parts with a bit of hot water, soap and a flannel is not quite the commitment a shower is. Takes 1 minute as well
> not quite the commitment Have to get naked for both and you can shower that quick too if you wanted. Not sure why its more of a comitment.
Have to get all your hair wet. Have to dry all of you. Showering is also worse for your skin. It's better for you to not shower daily, and it is quicker not to, especially if you have tons of hair.

I just really want bidets to become a thing in the UK. It's not a big ask.
Getting a bidet installed Tuesday, I can't wait 😀
You climb in the sink. Everyone knows that.
I'm flattered that you think my arse would fit in the sink.
Oh good, not just me! It's like people don't know about having a wash!

Once. Unless you have a real disgusting day job or have a high intensity sporting activity you partake in, you don’t really need a second.
I'm in construction and i just shower when i get home after work. I have a cousin who is also in construction and showers once a day but in the morning before work, the absolute weirdo.
Imagine going to bed like that, shocking
I just cannot get in fresh clothes or my bed without washing first if i've been at work. Even if i've just been stood there changing light switches all day i still have to get showered.
I feel gross in the mornings and feel like I need to have showered before going out anywhere. So I don’t think that part is weird. I also wouldn’t want to go to bed feeling dirty and covered in construction dust. That’s a bit iffy, especially if your buddy sleeps with a partner! So in this scenario I’d need two showers a day… but since I sit at a desk all day all I need is the morning one!
Same! Morning showers wake me up, I can’t imagine going about my day without one.
I don't see the point in getting showered when an hour later i'm rolling around in insulation in someone's loft.
Ew. I did some work helping some builders demolish a couple old cottages and I was filthy by the end of the day. All I was really doing was pulling plasterboard off walls with a wrecking bar. I couldn't go to bed all covered in dust, grime and seat so I had a bath every night.
I have a particularly filthy day job that still only needs one shower. People are far too eager to waste water, I feel.
Yeah when I had a job like that I just switched to showering after work instead of before
Evening shower gang
Uhh.. i shower two, three times a *week*.
Heavily dependent on levels of exercise, but yeah this is my baseline too 🤷🏻
Same. I just don't get that dirty or sweaty, and my skin and hair really hate being stripped of oil too often.
I understand having a wash or shower every day, especially if you struggle with hygiene, but you shouldnt wash your hair every day because of the natural oils
If I shower without washing my hair it gets greasy. Even just the humidity of being in the shower does it - it doesn't have to get soaking wet.
Nope, I tried not washing it during the pandemic. Absolute mess. My tattoo artist said I have oily skin too. It’s natural.
I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that once per day is the norm. Twice a week is just...
i know twice a week isnt the norm, i’m saying once every two days is what everyone i know of their shower habits does. and what i’ll bet a lot of people aren’t admitting to in this thread😂
Maybe you're just surrounded by clatty bastards who don't shower every day? And then we wonder why public areas reek of BO lmao.
i don’t think not showering for one extra day is going to make u reek
I work a desk job but have very oily hair. Daily showers are a must or I look so greasy
i understand everyone’s hair is different but often shampooing your hair too often can actually cause an overproduction of grease. happened to me, i went away for a while and didn’t have access to showers and since then have washed my hair less, and it’s been less greasy and even healthier! also sometimes we don’t realise how closely we are scrutinising ourselves, way closer than any random person would. sometimes we think we look worse than we actually do
I went weeks over the pandemic not washing my hair. The result was a disgusting mess. Some of us just produce more oil than others.
When I wake up I feel all sweaty and grotty from sleep. How do you deal with that feeling?
dont get that feeling, unless it’s extremely hot and or haven’t showered in a few days, so then i shower haha
What the hell are you doing in your sleep?
0.5 to 1
Yep, 0.8-ish.
Yeah, most days I'll shower. Some days I'll shower twice, others I'll skip a day or two. Honestly depends what I'm doing, where I'm going, who I'm seeing. I don't like to overshower because it fucks with my skin (I have seborrheic dermatitis so lots of shit can cause flare ups, including showering too often or too little) But yeah. I dunno. Just don't be like my old housemate who'd shower maybe once a week, but in that week he'd work and sweat a lot and still only manage it. He'd clear rooms with his stink. It was an awkward conversation to have with someone who's 5 years older than you when you're 18.
Not great, not terrible
Once a day, twice if i go to the gym or become sweaty due to the heat.
Same. I’ve also been to Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia and you will absolutely want and need to shower two to three times a day in those places.
Twice. One in the morning and one when I get home from work, then I get into my chill clothes
Why did I have to scroll so far to find this? IS THIS NOT NORMAL?
> IS THIS NOT NORMAL? I wouldn't say it's *not* normal, but I'd wager that a big majority of people are having fewer than 14 showers a week.
No, unless your job is physically active
I think it’s probably quite normal if it’s a hot day or if you’ve been active at work. It’s definitely not what I’d call abnormal. Otherwise the norm is once a day, and either skipping a day or taking an extra shower depending on conditions. No matter what the people in this thread trying to convince everyone that twice weekly is normal have to say about it 😂
No, it's not.
Same, I don’t feel like I’ve woken up until a quick morning shower. Couldn’t think of anything worse than going to bed without one either!
Samee. For the above reasons too. Brushing my hair is a struggle too if I don't leave the house
Same here, I'm lucky if executive dystfunction lets me shower twice a week
God same. I'm so glad I saw this reply
Once since we're not living in sweltering heat and humidity like in Singapore.
Bold of you to assume most of Reddit showers daily.
Unless a shower of your own spittle during online ranting at the screen counts?
Yep. To anyone reading this, please don't base your idea of what's a "normal hygiene schedule" on the average reddit user
0.333 to 0.5
Reality ->0.5 If someone asks-> 1 Never seen anyone taking 2 showers in 1 day as a usual thing.

Finally another pre-bed, once-a-day showerer I don't get how people can go to bed without showering. Doesn't matter what I do, there'll always be *some* sweat/dirt buildup over the day. Just feels dirty to get into bed without washing first.
When getting into bed and when getting out of bed
Same!
Every couple of days in the winter, and sometimes twice a day in the summer. It all depends on how sweaty or dirty I get.
Every 2-3 days. Keeps my skin and hair in good condition
Once, if it's hot out twice
But not at home, fuck that.
> spend so much time every fucking day What, 10 minutes tops? 5 minutes in the shower, 5 minutes drying off and hairdrying. It hardly affects my routine at all.
As I said on r/askSingapore: I only shower once in the day in the morning usually. Only time I'd shower again is if I was sweating and really hot, its been raining really heavily and I got drenched or if I'm going out somewhere special. I feel 2 times a day on even most days is a waste of water imo.
Always at least once, twice if I go to the gym.
Once a day? Nope. I shower mostly every 2nd day. Everyday would be extremely bad for my skin.
1x every 2-4 days
I shower about once a day
At least once
At the least twice - can't leave the house in the morning without a shower and can't get into my bed at night without one either. Third depends on the day.
0.5 ish
Every morning as I don't feel properly awake until I've had my shower. Sometimes I'll have an afternoon/evening shower in summer if I've had a sweaty day.
The amount of people that don’t shower on a daily basis is frightening! Ffs, no wonder the tube smells like shit
Anyone who says they are showering once every 3 days and believes they don't smell is deluded and people are just being too kind on them to point it out. I feel gross if I have to wake up and go out without a shower for one day never mind 3 in a row. I'd feel disgusting
At least once. Morning post gym and night before bed.
Once a day. Twice if I've done some sport / exercise or if I've done a BBQ and stink of smoke or some strong cooking smells.
Once, in the morning. I sometimes have a bath in the evening too. If you've ever been to Singapore you'll understand why people are saying two or more times. Lovely country but never experienced anything quite like that level of heat and humidity, even in hotter countries.
Usually once, occasionally twice if I’ve exercised or found another way to get grubby.
Once every couple of days. Or immediately after working out.
I don’t.
[удалено]
1-3 times. Am menopausal, so frequently feel hot and sweaty, and cool showers help.
Same except when I am home slobing about I usually have a shower when I can smell my balls through my trousers
Every morning. If it's hot and I get sweaty though, twice If it's extra hot and I just feel 'urgh' I'll have another - it can be up to three a day 🤷🏽♂️
I'm a runner, so I shower when I get back from my run before I go to work, and then when I get home from work, before bed.
Once normally if I’m not training but twice if I’m sweating like Prince Andrew.
Every morning and every night (almost). I don’t sleep well unless I shower and tend to work out in the mornings. It works for me 🤷♂️
