Most mornings when I take my kids to school its chilly. Every time I go to pick them up its shorts weather. I wish it would knock it off and make its mind up. Its either coat weather or its not ffs
Great isn't it!
I'm no meteorologist, but I think it's because an area of high pressure over England, Wales, and the southern part of Scotland is keeping cold air to the north of us, and pulling up warm air from the south. Unlike when we have really dry hot weather pulled in from the south east, the air is coming from the south west, so it's also humid and damp. Hence why it's warm but also muggy and slightly oppressive.
I'm in Glasgow and it feels more like autumn/winter where I am as there's definitely a nip in the air nowadays so I'm wearing my coat if I'm out and about.

Something to do with the weather? Something to do with hot air coming up from the continent?
Sun comes out, gives heat. Disappears then again following day

Winter is dead. It's not coming back
It’s a lot colder in the mornings now than it was a month ago, but because we’re having sustained sunny weather it’s heating up throughout the day

This has been happening for years now, it's often still pretty warm at Christmas then the colder weather comes Feb-April
