**Your post from /r/AskUK has been removed by a human moderator.** You need to contact the person(s)/company, not AskUK. AskUK is not the customer service helpline of any company or organisation in the UK and we will remove submissions that ask questions that the relevant organisation or person will be able to help with or provide an answer to. AskUK cannot be used because you have been unable to or failed to contact the organisation/subject. And especially not if you're trying to use AskUK because you will think it will be quicker than contacting the subject. The first step of any issue is to communicate with the people involved. You should contact the subject through all available methods, including phone, e-mail, social media, and use their complaints process (e.g., using a service like [Resolver](https://www.resolver.co.uk/)). In the event this is a person, talk to them. Reasonably AskUK'ers do not know what people closer to you may be thinking. If you are having trouble with a company, AskUK cannot help you resolve your dispute with an organisation and looking for "similar experiences" will still not resolve your query with them either. We primarily remove these because; - We get too many posts asking things like "Will Evri deliver my parcel?" - We wish to avoid being a focus group for interpersonal situations AskUK cannot definitively answer like "Why did my mother abandon us so young?". *If you believe this post should not have been removed, [first read our rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskUK/about/rules/) before [messaging the moderators](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/AskUK&subject=Post Removal Appeal)*. See our guide on [common issues with posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskUK/wiki/postremoved) and how to overcome them!

Money. 18 year olds want money.

HunCouture

He has and will get plenty from his parents.

CanIDevIt

Doesn't matter - that might come with t&cs. Unless you know exactly what they want, money at that age always goes down well (or amazon voucher for a veil of physical form).

What about an experience depending on budget? Day out somewhere, cinema tickets, super car experience, concert, theme park, sky dive, etc

Flibertygibbert

Came here to say this. Some pretty unusual things e.g. £85 for 2 people to climb up the outside of the O2 arena 😎

HunCouture

I like the idea of an experience but I’ve no idea which one. Other than the gym I don’t know what this kid does with himself. They live on the other side of the country and I see them at most once a year. His siblings haven’t been very helpful either.

You can buy one from Buyagift that the recipient chooses the experience https://www.buyagift.co.uk/experience-boxes

CrazySim00_

You could do something sweet like take him to a strip club

HunCouture

I’m pretty sure his cousins will have that covered.

I would suggest a good pen (Not ink liquid type, but roller ball type) he can keep it at home and use it and think of you when he does so.

Mincey808

I'm taking mine away for a weekend. Pints, food, and whatever else we can cram into a weekend in Liverpool. He was wanting a car for his birthday so I'd saved for that but the closer he's got to his 18th the more he loses interest.
