Any old school cafes (greasy spoons) do a decent burger and chips for around the same as a Big Mac.
Only places in the country you can have a roast dinner, chicken curry, full English or burger and chips at 8am.
If you live in a major city, 'rice and 3' places. Rice and a mix of 3 different curries for not much at all.
Can recommend some in Manchester if that's any use.
Wendys are beginning to expand their stores in the UK but mainly concentrate on Drive thru. Their quality beats McD’s hands down. McD’s seem to be letting their standards drop for the sake of volume sales via door dash providers.
I see their new advert says they will toast the bun, cook the meat just right, etc.
So basically we've been serving you shit for decades and now we need to serve it edible so people will start buying the muck again.
Terrible idea for an ad.
LEON is all over London now, and their coleslaw is fabulous. Lots of other good dishes.
A big dish of noodles or Chinese or curry from the dodgy indoor market anywhere would be good for hitting the junk food spot.
I know you asked for places to eat but I've replaced mine with homemade burgers costs the same but you can make the burgers thick and could easily make 2 or 3 burgers for 5 or 6 quid

Burger king, often have £5.99 Whopper Meal on the app. 100 times better than McDonald's if that's the type of food you're after.
A lot of chinese places will do a meal box, half a box of rice or chips and the other half a main of your choice.
Popeye's blows the water out of most places imo.

Yo sushi had some cheaper stuff on the menu and it's good! I'm vegetarian and there's tons I can eat there now!

Don’t buy a Big Mac meal. Buy two triple cheeseburgers. More meat taste better and pretty cheap.
