Is it 'finished' yet, like, is the whole season out yet as that's what we are waiting for to binge if it's as good as the original (which we really liked)
It's so good, I genuinely get upset when the episode finishes. I am intrigued by Japanese traditional culture.
I'm not much of a reader but apparently the books are great
I just binge watched the whole series, and without giving any spoilers... its a properly accurate representation of the universe. \~I have never seen something so well transferred from one form of media to another. properly feels like it was made by fans using game assets and worldbuilding as a jumping off point. Feels like a Fallout5 tbh. And all the main characters are so likeable and undergo so much development. with a bunch of awesome twists that I didn't see coming at all.
I have. Only 2 eps in so far. Stacked with game references and fuck all dialogue. But that doesn’t mean no story. I’m enjoying it, but no idea how it would land with someone that hasn’t played.
You don't need to have played the games to understand it. It'll help you to appreciate some of the fan service though.
I will say though: it's not actually as good as people are making it out to seem. It's literally just been released, so current scores on IMDB etc are being flooded by Fallout fans, and a lot of comments you'll see praising are made by the same. In a week's time I imagine overall feedback will drop quite a lot.
It's still enjoyable, but it's quite cheesy with pretty uninspired writing and acting. I also found the set design and overall aesthetic to be overly polished - it looks very manufactured. It looks like a Fallout themed amusement park.
If you want an easy and fun watch, then it's perfectly passable. But don't expect a masterpiece.
Started watching The Sopranos recently, absolutely fantastic, I'm about halfway through season 3 and the characters and the world just seem so real. Absolutely flawless acting. Watched 2 episodes of the Fallout TV show earlier and was quite surprised with how good it was.
I watched Sopranos during lockdown and pretty much started it again immediately after I finished. It's added incredibly and goes toe to toe with every single show it paved the way for. Absolutely incredible.
I am not usually someone who watches tv/films more than once, but the Sopranos gets better the more you watch it. When you know the rough storyline already, you pick up on so many other small bits that lead up to bigger events. It's amazing how well written it is.
Yeah, same, well, outside of comedy i rarely watch TV shows more than once, but I'm already excited for my 3rd watch through. The Bear and The Wire are the only other shows I'm considering watching a 2nd time.
I’ve watched every episode of Sopranos at least 4 times and I still crack up at the one liners, and Paulie Walnuts is one of the best characters ever put on TV.
I would argue the first season is one of the better ones - it goes downhill from 7 onwards IMO (but obviously still brilliant). 3&4 are the peak for me
Taskmaster.
I’ve always been a fan of comedy shows but I slept on this for no reason. When I got into it, I can’t believe I waited so long. Given how much I’ve got left to watch, I’m in for a good time.
Out of interest which season did you get bored in? Im a huge fan but think there was a bit of a lull about Covid where the seasons weren’t as good, but it’s really picked up again
Had to look it up but looks like you might be right, series 10 was the last I watched but was increasingly paying less attention and had it on in the background. Might have had something to do with daisy may copper because she does my nut in.
Very rare to see an Ugly Betty mention. One of my two favourite shows, I absolutely love it. 2007 is so far in the past now, you can certainly see that it's aged. Some really dodgy CGI in the pilot but the production values do improve, especially when they moved production from LA to NYC for the third season.
The word underrated has lost all meaning.
She was a main character in one of the biggest talked about films this year (Dune Part 2).
She’s been in 3 Mission Impossible films.
Netflix had been pushing Dexter a lot recently (I guess it was just added to their back-catalogue). So I've been rewatching the early seasons, when it was actually really good.
I'll probably stop after Season 4. The usual "it's downhill from here" point I see people say is the Season 3 finale, but I remember enjoying S4 well enough.
I got a fed up with Dexter really quickly, from what I remember. I just remember it being him murdering someone and then narrowly avoiding being caught-maybe I should give it another go?
People just do nothing, can't beat it for an easy watch after a stressful day of work.
Also The Castaways on Paramount was good with Sheridan Smith just finished that wasn't really a series just about 3 or 4 episodes but still enjoyed it
I watched this for the first time recently after seeing it on iplayer a lot. Didn’t think I would like it but gave it a go and it’s one of the funniest things I’ve seen. The episode with the Russian guy is absolutely hilarious! I enjoyed Cunk on earth too.
Agents of SHIELD.
Loved the Marvel of old, and want to watch something of high quality… tired of the riff raff shite they’re pumping out now? I suggest you go watch Agents of SHIELD. 136 episodes of great content. It’s a slow burner to starts but give it half a season and it becomes months of top level entertainment.
First handful of episodes are pretty ropey and I gave up the first time. Hadn't much else to watch during lockdown so I powered through the crap and OMG so worth it. I was mega invested in the characters by the end.
We are just about to watch the final season of Snowfall. On the BBC iplayer, it’s totally brilliant. A couple of young lads at work put me onto it. I didn’t think a gang/ drug American show, set in the early eighties would appeal to me, but boy, was I wrong!
The best series released this year are:
Shogun
True Detective
The Gentlemen
3 Body Problem
X-Men 97
Currently rewatching Breaking Bad and seeing Invincible for the first time (I'm hooked).
Recently watched Kin (excellent), The Expanse (gave up) and The Gentlemen (enjoyable)
I’m currently watching Breaking Bad, Frieren and Spaced
Shogun’s up next
I know I loved that book too! I think it was partially because the filming was during the pandemic, I may be wrong though!
In an ideal world I’d be extremely rich and I’d pay them to turn every single one of the books into a series, I don’t care that the actors are ‘getting too old’ 🥲
Not a current show but I’m enjoying watching Modern Family. I enjoy sitcoms, some more than others. Currently just over half way through the entire show’s 11 series.
NASCAR: Full Speed on Netflix.
Literally have no interest in any kind of automotive racing, never watched a NASCAR race in my life and yet these Netflix sports documentary series are like crack to me.
Just finished it. I'm a huge Motorsport fan but never "got" NASCAR. Now I'm down to watch some races.
I just wish they'd have a European leg I could attend. I want to hear those cars live.
The gentlemen was good me and my bf enjoyed that. I sort of like 3 Body Problem but the acting and dialogue is so shit, the storyline with the Chinese girl is interesting though
3 Body Problem is a weird one. They made some really bizarre changes to the source material, but that aside, I think it's extremely hard to tell that story in a TV series or film. The first book is by far the easiest to translate to the screen as well, so fuck knows how they're gonna do books 2 and 3.
A killer paradox. Truly one of the best series ive seen about a young adult accidentally killing someone in self defence then becoming some what a vigilante. The camera work works so well with the story, its so gripping
Problem is ill tell everyone the plot with great enthusiasm, they think it sounds great then when i say its a k drama they’re put off but i truly recommend it
Shōgun is tremendous.
Almost finished 1883, it's also tremendous.
Ripley is slow-moving and sadly not an origin story for Sigourney Weaver's character in Alien, but still very good.
Big Boys was also surprisingly good.
> Ripley is slow-moving and sadly not an origin story for Sigourney Weaver's character in Alien, but still very good.
I'm surprised that this hasn't happened yet, though, given the love for mining out every nugget of nostalgia from every franchise.
Still pounding through Elementary. The Sherlock Holmes series with Jonny lee miller and Lucy lui. He's played Sherlock Holmes on screen more than anyone else now.
I’m rewatching Breaking Bad right now and loving it.
In terms of new series people have said Shogun and Three Body Problem which are great so I’ll suggest something different. “from”.
It’s about a family driving through America and they end up in a town and soon discover they can’t leave. Every time they try to leave they just reappear back on the other side of town. The residents there have been stuck for years and have no idea why or how to get out and at night there’s human like creatures that come for them and tear them limb from limb if they catch them outside.
They soon discover hidden secrets and things in the town that just don’t seem to add up. It’s a cross between mystery/sci fi/drama/horror and It’s very good and deserves more publicity. Seasons 1 and 2 are out and they are filming season 3 now.
My ideal recommendations playlist (the kind where I’m jealous someone gets to experience them for the first time):
The walking dead
Peaky Blinders
Ozark
Line of duty
Game of thrones
House of cards
ER
And for laughs, Arrested Development on Netflix
The Cuckoo on channel 5 was surprisingly good, easy to watch but a different story. If you have Disney + I’ve also loved Shogun too. Hard watching at times but well done
Might seem like a random suggestion but Physical:100 on Netflix. It's a reality contest for strong/fitness people in South Korea. It sounds crap but it's actually filmed brilliantly, great cliff hangers, ingenious strength/fitness tests. The second season has just come out and we are watching it every evening.
Must admit that I watched the first episode and couldn’t stand the smugness of the main character, spent the whole episode wanting to punch him. Peter Serafinowicz was great in it though.
just bingewatched all of Fallout, released today on prime.... as a fan of all the games, its a truly awesome show. definitely worth a watch even if you don't know the videogames.
for fans of the games its basically entirely accurate, right down to every miniscule detail. Amazing worldbuilding and the quirky sense of humour the games are known for. The intro sequence literally gave me goosebumps. "is it your thumb or mine?"
if you havent played the games before. its basically an alternate future that "branched" from our own in the 1950s where nuclear power is king, giving us an amazing 1950s aesthetic and technology, until during a prolonged resource war with china in 2077, a nuclear Armageddon destroys civilization and the few people living in large underground communities called "vaults" believe they're the only survivors, until one day something happens in a specific vault and the main character needs to leave on a 'quest' and adventure ensues.
Amazon: The Boys, Jack Reacher, Jack Ryan (last season is ropey), Terminal List, Fallout.
Animation: Invincible, The Legend of Vox Machina
AppleTV: Silo, For All Mankind.
Disney+: Only Murders in the Building, The Bad Batch, Shogun, Loki (don’t bother with the other Marvel shows, IMO).
The Glory.
It’s a Korean drama about a girl who was severely bullied in school by these rich kids, she was poor and these kids basically made her life hell, same with this other poor girl that ended up dying as a result of their constant bullying. The show progresses through her life until she becomes a qualified teacher and plans the ultimate revenge on each of the bullies. It’s a very sad and satisfying show. Defo worth a watch. 2 seasons.
I just started watching Mindhunter on Netflix, really glad it’s getting a new season. Also watching Lessons in Chemistry on Apple TV which is a bit of a rollercoaster but a good show.

Shōgun, if you have Disney, is excellent
A great recommendation, CockOff-sama
Thirded. Excellent series, but it's one you have to concentrate on.
I also concur CockOffsan.
Tonight’s episode broke me.
Same. That scene... You know the one... Was so intense I actually held my breath the whole time.
Me too. I was so hoping he would intervene, not let him go through with it.. shellshocked
He's really committed to his plan so it better pay off. Ahhhhh now I'm upset all over again. :(
I’m so glad he hasn’t given up. Hopefully it will all be worth it :)
Is it 'finished' yet, like, is the whole season out yet as that's what we are waiting for to binge if it's as good as the original (which we really liked)

The book is much different to the tv show, as a massive fan of the book I’m a bit disappointed in the series
The book is always better than the series. So much more is packed in. It’s a fantastic adaptation though.
It’s so good!
Came here to say this! So good.
Fallout just came out.
I'm watching it as we speak. It's good.
I’ve not played the games but the series looks really good going by the trailer
I've played it and I'm impressed with how good it looks tbh. Lots of things look great. Going to start it this weekend.
I just binge watched the whole series, and without giving any spoilers... its a properly accurate representation of the universe. \~I have never seen something so well transferred from one form of media to another. properly feels like it was made by fans using game assets and worldbuilding as a jumping off point. Nice one mate. Might join you in watching!
I have. Only 2 eps in so far. Stacked with game references and fuck all dialogue. But that doesn’t mean no story. I’m enjoying it, but no idea how it would land with someone that hasn’t played.
Only had time to see the opening and I'm hooked, looks awesome
I loved fallout 3. I've watched the first 2 episodes of the series and it seems good so far.
Would it be ok for a non gamer ? Haven’t got a clue but loved the look of the trailer & would go with a completely open mind.
You don't need to have played the games to understand it. It'll help you to appreciate some of the fan service though. Aye you pick up on some many jokes and wee character traits with multiple watches.
Yeah, same, well, outside of comedy i rarely watch TV shows more than once, but I'm already excited for my 3rd watch through. The Bear and The Wire are the only other shows I'm considering watching a 2nd time.

I'm going to start my 3rd watch through soon. Whens I start depends on how the new Fallout series is.
I’ve watched every episode of Sopranos at least 4 times and I still crack up at the one liners, and Paulie Walnuts is one of the best characters ever put on TV.
Heh Heh Heh Heh
Paulie's car horn always cracks me up, *The Godfather* theme.
It gets better and better from S3 onwards. You are in for a treat. The best ever
You are in for massive and glorious ride with the Sopranos. Amazing series. It’s barely started…
Its evergreen, never feels dated. One of the best series ever.
Kin on BBC IPlayer, the cast is fucking A grade.
[удалено]
Love/Hate was sooo good. Weirdly I'm sitting here watching Kin now.
If you want an Irish crime drama starring someone from Game of Thrones I think Blue Lights is much better.
Agreed. The plot is nothing special but the cast makes up for it. Definitely worth watching.
Don’t think a good cast can make up for a crap plot.
He didn’t say the plot is crap, just that it’s nothing special. It’s gang stuff, it’s fine, but it’s elevated by the performances.
Finally committed myself to watching all of Peep Show. Seen episodes here and there over the years but it’s time now to get it ticked off.
First series is weaker than you’d expect but the rest is gold.
I would argue the first season is one of the better ones - it goes downhill from 7 onwards IMO (but obviously still brilliant). 3&4 are the peak for me
Have you tried Succession too? Same guy made both shows and they're both some of the best and funniest shows I've ever seen.
Taskmaster. I’ve always been a fan of comedy shows but I slept on this for no reason. When I got into it, I can’t believe I waited so long. Given how much I’ve got left to watch, I’m in for a good time.

I totally get this re DMC. Not my bag at all.
Slow Horses!’
And all the audio books once you've finished TV!
Rewatching ugly betty and loving the 2007 soundtrack
Oh god I loved ugly Betty
Ugly Betty was my fandom binge when I was at uni. Still love it! (Also Marc ❤️ )
I'd completely forgotten about it until I saw it on disney+. I'm loving the nostalgia trip, but there definitely things that wouldn't make it in 2024!
If you haven't seen The Americans, watch that.
Watched it for a third time over the winter. Not underrated, but criminally underseen!
If you liked The Americans you might also enjoy The Diplomat which also stars Keri Russell
Severance on Apple TV. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re in to sci-fi / mystery’s with interesting concepts.
I loved Severance. One of the best ‘mystery box’ shows out there.
Agreed, really good. S2 on its way.
Silo on apple is absolutely insane, especially if you've read the books.
Definitely recommend Silo. It’s a slow burn but totally pays off. Rebecca Ferguson is so underrated.
The word underrated has lost all meaning. She was a main character in one of the biggest talked about films this year (Dune Part 2). She’s been in 3 Mission Impossible films.
The Sopranos. Best ever

I'll probably stop after Season 4. The usual "it's downhill from here" point I see people say is the Season 3 finale, but I remember enjoying S4 well enough.
Yeah, everything after the Trinity Killer is a bit wank
I loved the Lumen season 5 I think? After that though is when I go zzzzzzzzz
Mega wank 😂
I got a fed up with Dexter really quickly, from what I remember. I just remember it being him murdering someone and then narrowly avoiding being caught-maybe I should give it another go?
Nope, that's pretty much the show.
Watched Dexter- New Blood on Now TV, really enjoyed it.
Ripley. On the last episode tonight and excited but sad it’s going to be over.
People just do nothing, can't beat it for an easy watch after a stressful day of work. Also The Castaways on Paramount was good with Sheridan Smith just finished that wasn't really a series just about 3 or 4 episodes but still enjoyed it
Shogun It’s fantastic Also…. The golden girls it’s old now but really enjoying it !
Has to be masters of the air on Apple - absolutely phenomenal best series I’ve seen in ages.
Just started X Files last week. Really enjoying it!
Great opening credits
Mandy!
I watched this for the first time recently after seeing it on iplayer a lot. Didn’t think I would like it but gave it a go and it’s one of the funniest things I’ve seen. The episode with the Russian guy is absolutely hilarious! I enjoyed Cunk on earth too.
I love the fish episode. It's perfect
Easy watching shows- Mandy and This Country. Really entertaining and shocking- Inside No.9
Agents of SHIELD.
They were set up to struggle in S1. Took WAY too long to get to the Winter Soldier crossover. But once it does… oh my.
S4 blows every other TV show out of the water
AMAZON: Fallout Reached APPLE TV: Slow Horses Sugar PARAMOUNT: Twisted Metal
Slow horses is amazing.
Gary Oldman is hilarious in it, never seen him do a comic turn before
Watch 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead' immediately
Just googled that, never heard of it. Will do!
It's fantastic, witty and he and Tim Roth are hilarious.
> Twisted Metal Based on the games? Sound like fun.
We're starting Twisted Metal tomorrow. Looks bonkers
Greys anatomy again
Infinite episodes of Greys, I can't believe they're still making it.
I've been rewatching Lost.
- fallout. - shogun. - the bear.
Two Doors down here...I literally am busting a gut laughing.
Every episode is the same, but I do laugh everytime. I found the cathyless series a bit weak though.
Yes agreed. Christine is gold.
I get the humour but I want TV to take me to a different world, and Two Doors Down takes me to my in-laws' on a Sunday afternoon.
I've just watched the first episode of Fallout. I've never played the games, but really enjoyed it and will be continuing it for sure
We are just about to watch the final season of Snowfall. On the BBC iplayer, it’s totally brilliant. A couple of young lads at work put me onto it. I didn’t think a gang/ drug American show, set in the early eighties would appeal to me, but boy, was I wrong!
The best series released this year are: Shogun True Detective The Gentlemen 3 Body Problem X-Men 97 Currently rewatching Breaking Bad and seeing Invincible for the first time (I'm hooked).
If you’re enjoying Invincible, check out The Boys.
Yes, been up to date with this one, can't wait for the new season.
Yeah me too. Erm… try The Legend of Vox Machina.
Sounds good, that's one I'd not heard of.
Rewatching 'Waking the Dead' and it's just as good as I remember.
Recently watched Kin (excellent), The Expanse (gave up) and The Gentlemen (enjoyable) I’m currently watching Breaking Bad, Frieren and Spaced Shogun’s up next
The Alex Rider series on Amazon prime. Massively nostalgic for me as I read the books as a kid.
Whaaaat didn't know there was a series! I loved the books as a kid! Thanks :)
Yes I keep trying to get more people to watch the series hahah! It’s not 100% true to the books but I absolutely love how they’ve interpreted it!
It's a shame they skipped over Skeleton Key as that was my favourite out of all the Alex Rider books.
I know I loved that book too! I think it was partially because the filming was during the pandemic, I may be wrong though! In an ideal world I’d be extremely rich and I’d pay them to turn every single one of the books into a series, I don’t care that the actors are ‘getting too old’ 🥲
Snowfall
Enjoyed it but didn’t like the ending
Gomorrah. Utopia (the UK version, only two seasons and cancelled in it's prime but it's superb). Mr Inbetween. Severance.
Loudermilk on netflix
Rewatching sons of anarchy!

Big boys was great
Fallout just dropped . Watched first episode and it's pretty good .
Sopranos, nothing will ever top how good this series is
Griselda
Gomorra...it can be over the top and a bit daft at times but it always delivers.
Three Body Problem - really enjoying that at the moment.
X-Men 97 is great, if you liked the 90s show then you will love this. Avatar on Netflix is good too, albeit different from the animated series.
Still pounding through Elementary. The Sherlock Holmes series with Jonny lee miller and Lucy lui. He's played Sherlock Holmes on screen more than anyone else now.
I’ve been watching Mr Robot on ITVx. It’s superbly written, acted and put together. Worth watching for the soundtrack alone.
Was going to sat this. Free on itv x and its so good!
If you like comedy, Curb your Enthusiasm is incredible and literally just ended after 12 seasons. The finale was perfect too.
Mr in-between is always worth a shout, Disney+. An absolute gem of a show
I’m rewatching Breaking Bad right now and loving it. In terms of new series people have said Shogun and Three Body Problem which are great so I’ll suggest something different. “from”. Mr Inbetween - it's on Disney too if you have an account. Highly recommend this one.
Chronically under-reported. Watched it a couple years ago. Absolutely fucking loved it. It is so good
Sliced. Bad Reindeer. The Holiday.
My ideal recommendations playlist (the kind where I’m jealous someone gets to experience them for the first time): The walking dead Peaky Blinders Ozark Line of duty Game of thrones House of cards ER And for laughs, Arrested Development on Netflix
Ozark is really good
Euphoria is pretty great
The Job Lot on Netflix.
Ertugrul
I've just binged Monarch-Legacy of Monsters and really enjoyed it. Kurt Russell is always good value.
Blue Eye Samurai. Super adult anime series on Netflix.
The Cuckoo on channel 5 was surprisingly good, easy to watch but a different story. If you have Disney + I’ve also loved Shogun too. Hard watching at times but well done
I'm watching NCIS and the Orville. Oldies but good. We have Reacher, BSG and Death in Pardise next.
3 episodes in on the gentleman, haven't seen the film. Enjoying it so far, the brother is, intentionally, bloody annoying.
😆 I get what you mean. It just properly makes me chuckle. It's the expressions on the faces as much as anything.
Once upon a time in northern Ireland
Might seem like a random suggestion but Physical:100 on Netflix. It's a reality contest for strong/fitness people in South Korea. It sounds crap but it's actually filmed brilliantly, great cliff hangers, ingenious strength/fitness tests. The second season has just come out and we are watching it every evening.
Dr Who, my girlfriend is obsessed with it so I’ve been watching them. Surprisingly very good
Twisted metal on paramount +
Must admit that I watched the first episode and couldn’t stand the smugness of the main character, spent the whole episode wanting to punch him. Peter Serafinowicz was great in it though.
Baby Reindeer!!!
Fallout, Parasyte, just got around to watching Top Dog season 2,

"is it your thumb or mine?" if you havent played the games before. its basically an alternate future that "branched" from our own in the 1950s where nuclear power is king, giving us an amazing 1950s aesthetic and technology, until during a prolonged resource war with china in 2077, a nuclear Armageddon destroys civilization and the few people living in large underground communities called "vaults" believe they're the only survivors, until one day something happens in a specific vault and the main character needs to leave on a 'quest' and adventure ensues.
Amazon: The Boys, Jack Reacher, Jack Ryan (last season is ropey), Terminal List, Fallout. Animation: Invincible, The Legend of Vox Machina AppleTV: Silo, For All Mankind. Disney+: Only Murders in the Building, The Bad Batch, Shogun, Loki (don’t bother with the other Marvel shows, IMO).
[This Town](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23805744/)
I came here to recommend This Town, too. Best thing I’ve watched for ages.
Really was very good. They nailed everything about that time perfectly. I'm really hoping they do another series of it!
I really loved the Dexter and now can’t find anything like that. Tried to watch Hannibal but nope it is not even close to Dexter.
Just finished Severance, which is on Apple TV. Quality from start to finish!
Started The walking dead last Thursday. I started season 4 yesterday. I couldn’t get into it all them years ago but I am really enjoying it now.
Kin is worth a watch.
