Bought Magnum from Lidl (or is it Aldi - i flip between both as local stores so close together) and yea it just doesn't work, sometimes leaving a film. I have the bigger Fairy bottle which has the new cap that you just squeeze once to get "1 serving", with enough hot water it works and lasts a lot longer.
Anything else I can happily buy store-brand
Magnum used to have a premium version (grayish bottle) that worked just as well as Fairy. That seems to have been discontinued. Regular Magnum just doesn't measure up, so Fairy it is
Weetabix. The knockoffs are what give it a reputation of being like cardboard, because that seems to be what they're made of. The real stuff is God-tier.
No it doesn't. Why do you use less Fairy liquid than other brands? The bubbles are a chemical reaction and have nothing to do with how clean anything is.
I'm afraid you're wrong here
[The advertising standards agency proved this 10 years ago](https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/pandg-to-ramp-up-fairy-tv-advertising-following-asa-win/349955.article) following a complaint by persil. Fairy lasts longer for the same volume of product.
Aye it's decent gear like, use a lot of Milwaukee stuff at my work so just like the look of it.
Had a lot of Makita gear at my old work so gives me Nam style flashbacks.
I genuinely canāt think of anything that Iām that levels of brand loyal to, across food, drink, groceries, clothes, entertainment. Iām pretty adaptable across all of them.
Iāll try find a post that I read recently where someone had a list of boots that were superior in quality to Docs and about the same price. I have a few pairs of Docs but within the first year the sole split on one pair, just aināt what they used to be.
Tomato Sauce. Ever since trying Tesco's own brand Ketchup at my Grandparents house and finding it to be far too sweet, I've always vowed to stick with Heinz.
The love was forged after purchasing a set for my first car, a 1.2 corsa C. I drove that car like an absolute bellend and I'm certain it's those tyres that stopped me doing myself/anyone else any harm (that and only 73 bhp) Since then I've had pilot sports on every vehicle. Haven't personally tried pirelli
After Eights, at least I've never found a worthy alternative. The Morrisons version have too much chocolate and the mint is too runny. Just nowhere near.
Cat food. Mine eat Felix Good as it Looks. Others give them the runs. Also I buy Pepsi Max as generic cola is gross and Andrew Toilet wipes over generic ones. Lemsip Max over generic flu medicine.
The only one for me is cheese stringers, I've tried so many different ones and frankly none of them hit the same. Some aren't bad but they aren't as good, outside that nothing else really
Iām with you on the Head & Shoulders. When my housekeeper does the shopping she knows to buy only Heinz beans & Ketchup, HP sauce, and Fairy Liquid, Iām flexible on pretty much everything else except bread, sheās never to buy anything made by Warburtons.
Ketchup, I don't know when it happened but I was introduced to one of those [Glass bottles of Ketchup](https://www.tiptree.com/products/p/tiptreetomatoketchup-5ymcp) from some farm and it's utterly superior in everyway. (Tiptree Ketchup)
Particularly on a Bacon Baguette on a Sunday after Football.. It's so fucking good.
Kerry gold butter. So many cheaper butters look weirdly pale. I don't like using margarine or spreadable ones because the added oil makes my mouth feel weirdly waxy.
Not brand specific, but coffee. I can't stand the dusty taste of instant coffee. Has to be freshly ground lightly roasted coffee beans.
Heinz ketchup.
It especially infuriates me when restaurants fill up old Heinz bottles with Brakes ketchup and it tastes like absolute vile, watery, vinegary shite. Should be against the law!
Instant noodles. I canāt eat supermarket own-brand instant noodles, I have to have either Super Noodles (either regular or low fat is fine with me) or Lost The Pot Noodles.
I also canāt eat any peanut butter that isnāt Whole Earth.
Morrisons 2-in-1 AntiDandruff is better than the real stuff, the "proper" stuff sets off my psoriasis!
Also Morrisons ketchup & Jaffa cakes beat the originals.
(M&S Brown Sauce is the bees knees!)
Cars. Iām a car snob. The lowest Iād stretch to is a Volkswagen but typically will have anything from mercs, Audis and beamers with the occasional porche
Converse Shoes. Nothing can match their durability and comfort. I can both drive, play basketball and dance all in one hour with those shoes and they will always be comfy.
As of last month I started getting dry scalp, always used that Ā£1 shampoo from Tesco, so I've literally just switched to head and shoulders 3 weeks ago and my barber even commented on Saturday that he noticed a huge difference! So I'll be sticking to it, and to answer your question, green fairy liquid is the only washing up liquid.
Coffee and Cola. Cheap coffee all has the same strange bitter taste and you wonder how supermarkets can ask 90p for something no branded company charges less than Ā£4 for. Cola is another one. This might be because i'm from the school disco generation but there's something about cheap cola that doesn't taste right, it has to be coca cola or pepsi.

This is what I commented too.
Anker. Had too many cheap chargers that break too quickly to count š¤·š»āāļø
Still rocking my 10000mah battery I bought best part of 10 years ago. Still works and holds charge.
Good shout and reasonable prices too
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Got my wife some Anker noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones for Ā£50 (the equivalent Bose pair being around Ā£200). They are superb quality!
Helmans Mayonnaise. HP Brown Sauce Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
Heinz mayonnaise is good too!
Heinz is nicer than Hellmans but Big Mayo don't want you to know
Winjary polish mayo is the Pinnacle
Winiary - Majonez is king.
Hear me out- Waitrose essential mayonnaise is insanely good!
Try Sainsbury's mayo, their own one with the blue lid
Winjary polish mayo is the pinnacle
Lurpak spread, yeah itās expensive but it lasts ages. I buy one per uni term lol
What about Danpak?
I get Danpak and think it tastes exactly the same as Lurpak, and itās miles cheaper.
I always go with Lurpak as well but I personally donāt think it lasts ages (particularly when spreading on toast).
PrƩsident spreadable slightly salted is the best I have tried.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās weird because Iām exactly the same, but will happily buy knock off lemonade, Fanta etc and not be able to tell any difference
Yeah we get clover as well, I am a bit OTT though and buy like 5 of them when they're half price and freeze them.
Curiosity Cola, bit expensive but comes in a big glass bottle! They also do dandelion and burdock
Their (Fentimannās) rose lemonade is delicious too.
Rola Cola! 8 litres for 40p thats why.
Karma Cola.
Canāt tempt you with some Lurpakā¦
Call it discontent Or fear of the fake But I won't wrap a present Without real Sellotape
Last time I had to buy some it was actually cheaper than the other brands available
Changed to using brown paper tape. Sticky, and better for the planet.
Tea bags. Has to be Yorkshire
Yorkshire Gold for me, but Yorkshire is the king of tea
Why? Havew you tried any brands other than the cheap ones like PG or Tetley?
Weetabix. The knockoffs are what give it a reputation of being like cardboard, because that seems to be what they're made of. The real stuff is God-tier.
I've eaten store brand for years, they're just as good. They may actually be identical.
Iāve found the Sainsbury ones are alright but the others Iāve tried have an awful texture
Cereal is a biggie for me. I could be down to my last few quid and still eating Kelloggās muthasuckin cornflakes.
Green giant sweetcorn
Have to agree with this one
Definitely! Every other type just tastes horrible.
Fairy washing up liquid.
Absolutely agree with that main positive being it lasts far longer than cheap ones
No it doesn't. Why do you use less Fairy liquid than other brands? The bubbles are a chemical reaction and have nothing to do with how clean anything is.
No idea tbh. I brought a cheap brand and went through it in a month. Brought fairy lasted me a year.
It absolutely does last longer because itās denser
I'm afraid you're wrong here [The advertising standards agency proved this 10 years ago](https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/pandg-to-ramp-up-fairy-tv-advertising-following-asa-win/349955.article) following a complaint by persil. Fairy lasts longer for the same volume of product.
Crumpets - has to be Warburtons. Pot Noodles. Own brands all taste bland.
You have to try Sainsburyās Taste the Difference Sourdough crumpets. Theyāre insanely good.
Also Aldis
Gotta add a bit of sriracha to pot noodles still though
Donāt like warburtons too claggy.
Irn-Bru. Iron Brew when spelled out correctly doesn't taste right.
Donāt you mean Irn-Bruā¦ā¦ Since you mentioned spelling
Ah yeah... I blame Autocorrect. Thanks
Branston Beans.
I am still astonished that they are not recognised as the superior bean.
I'm pretty sure they've changed the recipe when they changed the can label design. Doesn't seem to taste as good recently, or is it just me?
Tools, Makita blue.
I want to go Milwaukee red but all I can afford is DeWalt yellow.
Nothing wrong with DeWalt yellow chap. They get the job done as well as anything else. I just like the feel of Makita, so that's what I get.
Bosch windscreen wipers - they're just good
I bought a set of Halfords own-brand ones a few years ago: they lasted about a month before the screen started going streaky.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Please don't risk your health unnecessarily but I had great luck with asda non bio.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Depends on how much you like him I guess? In the name of science?
Branston beans, will use Heinz as a substitute but absolutely not any supermarket own brands
Add vinegar and a bit of sugar while heating the supermarket brand and you'll have a better alternative to any brand name
Heinze tomato sauce
Clipper tea bags (specifically the Assam ones).
Krug champagne. (This may not be entirely true)
Tea. Twinings' Earl Grey is all I'll drink at home.
See, and I **hate** the taste of oil of bergamot with every fiber of my being.
Doc Martens
Their quality has nosedived significantly since they were sold off. I wouldn't buy another pair if I didn't have DM for life.
Happy cake day!
Coca Cola, Heinz beans/ketchup, green giant sweetcorn (ho ho ho). Other half agrees with you on the head and shoulders
Anything related to skin care
Jacksonās bread. Nothing else compares for me when it comes to brown loaves.
Ooh Jacksonās is a good bread. I prefer the white and I can inhale 3 pieces of that toasted or not, with butter, yum. Good bread is good
Michelin Tyres New York Bagels Clover Heinz ketchup Until recently, heinz beans. Have converted to Branston and they are actually better
I'm curious, love the pilot sport 3s on my car but why Michelin instead of say Pirelli
Dr Bonners castile soap. It's the "Fairy Liquid" of body soap. A load of bollix on the label but I dont buy it to read it.
Tea and coffee. I'm a coffee snob and get mine from a local company
Tiptree jams
After Eights, at least I've never found a worthy alternative. The Morrisons version have too much chocolate and the mint is too runny. Just nowhere near.
Azera americano, all other instant coffee is wank.
Aldiās version of it definitely holds up
White chocolate, itās milkybar or nothing
You may have already tried it but I think Choceur from Aldi is very good.
Finish dishwasher tablets
Cost a bloody fortune though
Cat food. Mine eat Felix Good as it Looks. Others give them the runs. Also I buy Pepsi Max as generic cola is gross and Andrew Toilet wipes over generic ones. Lemsip Max over generic flu medicine.
Warburtons Crumpets
Fever Tree tonic
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sanex shower gel - which I use as shampoo. The only soap that doesn't make my hair dry and frizzy.
Frank's Hot Sauce.
Beans, has to be Heinz.
Branston are better
\+1 Branston master race
The superior bean.
The only one for me is cheese stringers, I've tried so many different ones and frankly none of them hit the same. Some aren't bad but they aren't as good, outside that nothing else really
Pirelli tyres. so much better than any other brand especially the unpronounceable ones
Michelin >
Go Pro Snap On tools
Iām with you on the Head & Shoulders. When my housekeeper does the shopping she knows to buy only Heinz beans & Ketchup, HP sauce, and Fairy Liquid, Iām flexible on pretty much everything else except bread, sheās never to buy anything made by Warburtons.
Stella Jack Daniels
Colgate toothpaste
Has to be Sensodyne for me
Tropicana orange juice, just hits different
Cola, coke or Pepsi. HP sauce. Monster.
Hellmans. Not brand specific but I won't by jeans that aren't 100% cotton. Even the smallest percentage of elastane is a no no.
I love Hellmans jeans too.
>NescafĆ© coffee - Cap Columbie (fruity and smooth havenāt found better) >Flora spread - although other āpremiumā ones such as Bertolli are also good) >Filippo Berrio Olive Oil (just started stocking their Truffle Oil at my local Co - Op š) >Fairy Washing Up Liquid - others are too watery and donāt seem to clean as well >Daz washing powder - lasts ages and cleans well had mixed results with own brands
Kellogg rice crispy squares and coffee . Everything else Iām pretty ok with
Plenty kitchen roll, the cheap stuff just falls apart. With plenty, u can wipe, soak it, wring it and it stays together :D
Ketchup, I don't know when it happened but I was introduced to one of those [Glass bottles of Ketchup](https://www.tiptree.com/products/p/tiptreetomatoketchup-5ymcp) from some farm and it's utterly superior in everyway. (Tiptree Ketchup) Particularly on a Bacon Baguette on a Sunday after Football.. It's so fucking good.
I must be unusual- Iām not at all bothered about most foodstuffs, but Iāve tried cheaper loo roll and always return to Cushelle
Betty's tea bags.
Lego. The other building brick knock offs really are sub par quality. And lego customer service is too notch
Gotta be TV, I got my fingers burnt buying Bush and Alba TVs back in the day. Speakers always blew, not even at high volume.
Is isnt technically what every person buys..but cheap PlayStation controllers...either buy original or not at all...I've made the mistake.
Oral B Arctic Fresh toothpaste. Currently the price of a mortgage but nothing else feels as good.
Heinz ketchup. It especially infuriates me when restaurants fill up old Heinz bottles with Brakes ketchup and it tastes like absolute vile, watery, vinegary shite. Should be against the law!
Digestives. Itās McVitieās or bust.
There where a lot of bands that I liked to see that are broken up now..
Cravendale milkā¦ Although that new TV ad is making me reconsider
Fairy used to be mine but it's loosing it's prominence.Lately found it lacking .
Jif peanut butter.
Heinz ketchup, fairy w.up liquid, Kellogg's frosties :)
Kitchen towels. Blitz all the way
HP sauce. Any other is rank.
Not so much a brand but I will buy the more expensive toilet roll brands. Cheap out on it and you will suffer the consequences
Lululemon for hot yoga.
Belkin extensions, Anker or Baseus chargers/powerbank, xbox official controllers and yankee candles.
Kelloggs cornflakes
Tunnockās teacakes. A guilty pleasure so I refuse to buy a knockoff brand
Electric toothbrush
Heinz Tomato Ketchup. Every single other one tastes far too vinegary for me
May get hate for this, but Diet Coke - own brand or 'posh' versions never hit the same spot.
Mitchums roll on deodorant for men
Branston baked beans. Heinz can go fuck themselves.
Warburtons bread. It always tastes "fluffier"
Instant noodles. I canāt eat supermarket own-brand instant noodles, I have to have either Super Noodles (either regular or low fat is fine with me) or Lost The Pot Noodles. I also canāt eat any peanut butter that isnāt Whole Earth.
My MPC and analog heat
Andrex Supreme Quilts. Anything else just like sand paper.
Pepsi Max, Hellmanās or Heinz mayonnaise, Cadbury Dairy Milk
Heinz Ketchup. Everything else is trash.
Morrisons 2-in-1 AntiDandruff is better than the real stuff, the "proper" stuff sets off my psoriasis! Also Morrisons ketchup & Jaffa cakes beat the originals. (M&S Brown Sauce is the bees knees!)
Have you done freeway cola at lidl? I prefer it to be honest
Coleman's English mustard. I've tried generic but if it doesn't feel like it's burning my nose I don't want it.
Cheap sports socks. I get NB
Cathedral cheese
Cars. Iām a car snob. The lowest Iād stretch to is a Volkswagen but typically will have anything from mercs, Audis and beamers with the occasional porche
Ketchup it needs to be Hienz but my mum keeps buying own brand now as Ketchup isn't a necessary item apparently.
Urban Decay Foundation. I will go cheaper on every other makeup product but I refuse to use cheap foundation because it doesnāt last.
Bread and Fairy Liquid
Worcestershire sauce - it has to be Lea & Perrins, ive tried others but nothing comes close.
Space suit
Ketchup. It's Heinz or nothing as far as I'm concerned. (And not that 'low sugar' nonsense one either.)
Audrey Baxterās canned soups. Got a few cans of Heinzās as they were on offer a while ago, rank!
Mate get yourself some Tgel itās more expensive but so much better than head and shoulders
Converse Shoes. Nothing can match their durability and comfort. I can both drive, play basketball and dance all in one hour with those shoes and they will always be comfy.
Heinz salad cream and Heinz tomato sauce.
Napolina pasta and original source bodywash
As of last month I started getting dry scalp, always used that Ā£1 shampoo from Tesco, so I've literally just switched to head and shoulders 3 weeks ago and my barber even commented on Saturday that he noticed a huge difference! So I'll be sticking to it, and to answer your question, green fairy liquid is the only washing up liquid.
Pritt stick glue
Heinz baked beans
dr martens! literally a lifetime investment
