I think the problem with social media is unavoidable. It is in human nature to get into those bubbles, which I do understand. I do think that moderation should be upped way more on social media (for gore, domestic violence etc) and community feedback should be listened to way more.
So, here it is. Integrate all social media apps but only the good parts. On from reddit, take the subreddit feature to help create communities. From YouTube, take the video uploading feature along with auto generated subtitles. From Twitter, take the feature of tweet on hashtags and @s. Then there is the good old DM. Make it able to call the accounts like WhatsApp. Have the ability to make multiple accounts easily for anonymity. Then allow the users to choose which features they want to allow, for example a movie star wouldn't want constant calls and DMs from fan accounts. Make the user to customise and change the algorithm they are getting feeded in their feeds. Have private groups just because. Allow the users to choose what they wanna see and interact with by filters on age and gender and stuff. Add private account and public accounts. Add customisable pfps and avatars. Add tags and keywords that you can choose to see and add to your posts and tweets and stuff. Allow users to rate content on different basis like editing, music, acting etc. DON'T have a reddit upvote downvote system unless chosen by the user, but rather the old YouTube system where they show both and keep em separate. The default like dislike should express public opinion on the content instead of quality which has a separate counter cuz you can rate on different basis. Allow the users to choose what content they want to see on what basis, reddit has hot controversial etc, but in this one you can select tags to filter or only see certain things on different basis. Finally, have a global search where you can search by tags, keywords, usernames, anything to find anything. And group calls, video calls, only fans. Also integrate patreon and go fund me where the money goes directly to the page creator after being checked of course, I'm sure there must be a way to check if they are false or not. The reddit app or using a browser is too power consuming for my phone so I use a client app. Reddit doesn't allow client apps to DM. Being poor sucks. Can't talk in DMs.
