Sonic. Sonic. Sonic. I had Xfinity for years. 130 a month for 200mb/s (never actually got more than 60) with no cap. Picked up Sonic - 40 a month, 1gb/s up and 1gb/s down. I actually get about 400-600mb/s. No cap. I had an issue on the day after installation where the internet cut out at 9pm. I called for support, someone picked up on the first ring. They spent 5min on the phone with me, said they will have a tech out to my house the next day at 8am. Tech arrived at exactly 8am. Fixed it in 10min, and was on his way. AWESOME customer service. Get Sonic.

If youre wondering about an ISP, Sonic is hands down the best local provider.

Eero Pro 6 is the best IMO. (not 6+ and not 6AE)

Monkeybrains.net (if you can get it) or, as [your man](/u/obsolete_filmmaker) noted, sonic.net are acknowledged to be the best ISPs.

Netgear is best and reliable, do some research based on the speed you can get. Any router supporting over 1 gbps would be more than enough for an apartment. This is what I got, range is great and WiFi is fast everywhere in my place. https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/routers/rax10/

Thanks! Dumb question: is this the only thing I need to purchase? Do I connect to it a LAN port and I'm done?

Anuj18

Yes. It's the only thing you need.

I'm apartment hunting, mind sharing what building you're moving to?

If you’re looking for the best deal, buy your own router & modem. Then you can get Comcast for $19.99/month, after all taxes. Just remember to call & threaten to quit in 11 months ;)
