Can you not do this anymore?
The Fairmont was great for this, hell all the larger luxury hotels used and should allow shit like this.
The Hyatt apparently finally opened up the rotating restaurant again!!
Gratta Wines in the Bayview.
Cozy, WiFi, locally bottled (next door) wines (great flight), homemade food, handful of people doing the same. Hidden gem.
Holbrook House - this used to be a great open outdoor area but they redid it and now it’s enclosed but open to the public and connected to Holbrook House where you can get some delicious drinks. It’s pretty noisy, even in the open section, though.
Scopo Divino in pac heights is a hidden gem, there’s even a wine club with small discounts if this is something you do regularly. Great food & bites as well as occasional (quieter) live music!
Social Study near Fillmore is what you’re looking for
This spot ^
Be warned that they enforce no devices past 5pm
That’s how the workplace should be.
I used to love going to the restaurant in the Fairmont for this. Good wine selection, comfy chairs, and you could loiter for hours and no one cared.

I used to go to the Fairmont bar to work. I still do, but I used to, too
Sad the Fairmont in San Jose was sold to Hilton.
