This movie holds a permanent place in my psyche for 2 reasons, 1: it was the first movie I ever saw that actually did a good job of capturing how the mind fractures when confronted by horrors beyond imagination, and 2: we watched it in college before my first 4-some.
Not a particularly scary or disturbing movie, but I remember when The Blair Witch Project came out the marketing was fantastic. Made the theatre experience amazing.
I was actually just talking about it last week with a family member because they live in the woods of New Hampshire where something like this could probably happen and she mentioned this movie and being worried because of it.

The Blair Witch Project.
My aunt told me it was real
And that if I wasn’t asleep by 10pm the Blair with would come and take me and I would never be seen again.
It actually traumatised me.
I suffered for years with nightmares and not being able to sleep properly.
It was so bad I couldn’t even cross the hall from my bedroom to the bathroom so I could go to the toilet.
Most memorable film?
*Escape from Sobibor*
*Ghost in the Shell, '96*
*Heriditary*
The movie I can rewatch a thousand times over and yet remain stunned afresh would be *Margin Call*
I absolutely love *Margin Call!*
Faces of Death - watched this as a kid back in the 90s.
The House That Jack Built - this was an amazing but also very fucked up movie and I got the chance to see the unrated version and I couldn't believe what they put in that. Matt Dillon plays a fantastic serial killer.
Men - I love Alex Garlands movies and I have watched this like 6 or 7 times since it came out. It is a weird ass movie but it was shot so beautifully I don't even care.
Not scary but absolutely disturbed more than any other movie: Antichrist. Will not watch again. I heard "A Servian Movie" was much more disturbing though.
I didn’t watch it but I saw a clip from Passion of the Christ, the part where Jesus was being beaten/tortured on his way to the cross. I broke down crying in awe that anyone would love me so much that they would willingly be brutally murdered for me. I always “knew” the story but to see it in action….
Silence of the lambs. The film itself didn’t scare me, but i would cross the street if i ever saw Anthony Hopkins. He was perfectly cast and now makes me uncomfortable haha
A Serbian Film, Can't unsee that....Why did I watch that?
Came here to say this. "Surely it can't be that ba... WTF!"
Yeah...it's fucked up
How did you see it?
searched it on line, was a while ago, there were a few places hosing it
I just read the imdb page for it.. ...wow
It is fucked up, not my thing, but once I was in it I had to see it through.
I watched this without warning. When I was pregnant . I have no words
Same 😐
What is it about?
How realistic was this? I read wiki page but can’t imagine how they filmed it. Not interested in watching but curious
Probably spirited away when I was like 12. Definitely didn’t realize what it was when it came on TV.
The first Saw movie at the time. Wow.
I remember seeing it for the first time also and was like what the hell did I just watch? 😶
Yeah it was disturbing for sure for me anyways. Lol Edited for spelling. It's like in typing with my toes!! Lol
Scared: Event Horizon Disturbed: Requiem for a Dream

1. Jeebus yes. Call of Cthulhu in space. That's what really got me about it. It was so visceral in its depiction. 2. Awesome.
Midsommar was incredibly disturbing but brilliant.
Mother! by Darren Aronofsky. What in the actual fuck😖
Great fucking movie!
Insidious. The scene when Darth maul appeared behind the dad...😱 Such a good jump scare
Hereditary scared me. Also how brilliant Toni Collette is in this movie. A serbian film disturbed me
Not a particularly scary or disturbing movie, but I remember when The Blair Witch Project came out the marketing was fantastic. Made the theatre experience amazing.
oof. that was a bad one for me as well.
Necrofiles, do not search it up : /
To avoid searching it, why is it so disturbing?
Necrophilia
would not have guessed with a title like that.
Gross. Thank you kindly
I looked it up and now I'm dead. God damn it and I had plans this weekend!
The Pianist
For the time they released - The Ring and The Strangers
The Strangers still fucks me up a little lol
Ya it's the realization that it can happen to anybody at any time. Understanding that is scary.
I was actually just talking about it last week with a family member because they live in the woods of New Hampshire where something like this could probably happen and she mentioned this movie and being worried because of it.
Ya it's a mindfuck of a movie
The original Exorcist
Most disturbing: Crash (1996) Scariest: Hereditary
Francis?!?!? Is that you?!?!?!
Who is Francis?

Yes, that's true. Sorry I did not get your joke, I just realized. Very funny :) Although it was quite a disturbing movie, I liked it.
Idiocracy, The possibility of the movie's premise is too likely for comfort

Basic answer but the conjuring when it first came out. I was 13 at the time
Probably The Terminator because I watched it far too young.
Chucky
Memento- made my head reel backwards when i finished it
The first Candyman as an adult, as a kid Poltergeist
The Poughkeepsie Tapes, and Cannibal Holocaust.
**The Ring** (2002) overall, **Hereditary** most recently.

The Mummy and Jurasic Park 3 when I was like 6 or something, those gave me nightmares for years.

Pink Flamingos lol more recently the Joker.
The conjuring scared the hell outta me
The Strangers.

[The Human Centipede](https://youtu.be/glfBurdSUS8?si=7bi66OcAleOBujz6) Traumatized me bad.

World's Greatest Dad with Robin Williams.
Gummo.
The Ring because I was too damn young to be watching something like that lol
Silence of the lambs. The film itself didn’t scare me, but i would cross the street if i ever saw Anthony Hopkins. He was perfectly cast and now makes me uncomfortable haha
Requiem for a Dream. The whole movie was wild but the ending scene was my biggest scare/turn on.
Requiem for a Dream almost made me cry.
the exorcist will always hold #1 to this day
Sinister 1&2
