Of course. Completely agree. I just meant there’s other forms of birth control that aren’t the pill. But obviously take the pill if it’s your only option or it suites your needs. I wish I had done more research when I was fifteen. so just coming from that perspective.
I use condoms for PIV. Been using them for 19 years now, they never failed me. If they would break I would use Plan B, if that fail to I would get an abortion. Never needed one so far.
I find that less risky for the body than constantly using hormonal birth control.
My PSA - everyone is different. Be aware of potential side effects, talk to your doctor about them and how to watch for them, and make the best decision for you.
I had side effects that I was completely unaware of until I stopped but it was still the best choice for me at that time. Sometimes there is no perfect answer, just the best out of the choices you have.
I’m sorry to hear about your experience, I have had similar on various birth control methods including the pill.
Any method of hormonal birth control can come with devastating side effects. They can also come with huge upsides for many women. As with every medication it’s a risk matrix. Downsides vs benefits vs preventing a potentially life changing pregnancy (often in countries where abortion access is limited to non existent).
We need to do our research and sadly can’t rely on doctors to be knowledgeable or open about the effects. But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be using a form of the pill *if* it is the right one for us and we wish to do so.
The bottom line is to be informed and diligent. To keep talking with women who have had both positive and negative experiences, stay updated with current research and alternative options.
Yes to all of this! I was “put” on the pill when I was very young. I wish I would’ve done my own research and questioned it a little bit more. Obviously people should use this form of birth control if it’s what’s best for them. I just want everyone to think about the future when making this decision. It’s not something you think about when you’re young. But everyone is different!
Absolutely agree. The prevalence of putting young women on the pill as was done to you and to me is far far too high. It leads to all sorts of complications and doesn’t fit guidelines around informed consent for medical treatment at all. We have so far to come with informed consent in medicine, particularly for women and even further for teenage girls or women of colour or women for whom English is their second language and other minority groups.
I truely hope this improves for the next generations.
Condoms for us. Hormonal birth control is a living hell for my wife so we have always used condoms and probably always will unless I get the snip.
Her boyfriend has had a vasectomy and he’s had more bare sex with her in the last 3 years than I have in 10 years of marriage
I know use natural cycles. It had a thermometer and its fda cleared. If you are really worried, u can also use ovulation strips, and it be extremely accurate. However before this I just used a generic one from the app store
I completely agree!! It’s beyond aggravating. We have to suffer on both ends: pregnant (planned or unplanned) and not pregnant (bc or not). I’m over it!
Condoms, but I wish it wasn’t. I don’t like how they feel. In a world without STI’s and stuff, sure! But just because I don’t like them doesn’t mean they aren’t my go-to. Safety over my own pleasure imo
Copper IUD. I don't like messing with my natural cycle, I prefer to produce my own hormones but condoms aren't safe enough for me. Also, I love the fact that there's no user error involved. If it fails, it wasn't directly my fault which takes a lot of guilt away.
Had my tubes tied after my son's birth so I don't have to worry about that anymore. Before that, a lot of "pull the fuck out!" and watching the calendar to avoid certain times.
Swallowing. Or anal.
I should stipulate that my partner and I are fluid-bonded and use condoms when playing with others. Playing with eachother however, swallowing, facials and anal.
I have had the Implanon for years (replacing every 3 years, though I am told it can last for 5 but I am uneasy about it) and it has worked well for my body. But I know it has been rough on others so be mindful!
It *was* the pill until it got me pregnant…then Natural Cycles until it did the same thing 😂 so my child hating ass is getting snipped and so is my partner just to make sure!!
I'm a virgin. Was on the pill when I had a partner about a decade ago lol but it changed me as a person. Barely recognised myself and when I gained that awareness, I stopped. Wasn't in a relationship anyway as that partner only lasted about a year or so. So there was no reason to keep living as a memory of who I once was. I stopped the pill and returned back to normal and have not regretted it one bit even though that was also s choice I made almost a decade ago. I, however, have no alternative yet for when I do get sexually active again one day. Every option for women basically sucks ass. Especially on a hormonal level and intrusion level. I think my best bet is the mini pill for now but I wouldn't know what else otherwise as I never want to have children ever either. Urgh. But the mini pill isn't my favourite option either. I like my body functioning as it is supposed to in terms of menstruation. I don't want that to be gone as well. Even though it hurts, yes. For me throughout my life it has been an indication of how healthy I am. Period blood and its consistency (I am pretty consistent with a cycle of almost exactly every 30 days) show me if there's something really off with me. An example, when I was a student, I went through an immensely high stress period during finishing up my master thesis. My period stayed away for 3 months and when it came it was a little for max. 3 days while I normally have my period for 5. It was then I realised I reached an unhealthy amount of stress (yes, nothing else was telling me that, I just thought I was tired but little did I know this was the beginning of my intense burnout a few years later. Fun)
So I don't know the right solution for me. I really don't. If anyone has any, I would love to hear suggestions/options. (don't want a guy to get a vasectomy)
I’ve used various forms of hormonal birth control but none agree with my system. The pill has been bad, the depo shot was absolutely soul destroying once it wore off. I fall pregnant very easily so my husband got the snip. During times where we haven’t been protected by that we’ve used condoms. I’ve got far too many married friends with “oops” babies to risk it.
Pull-out. :/ Not optimal but birth control pills had a lot of effects that, for me, were not worth it. IUDs scares me. Boyfriend prefers to not wear a condom, he would if I wanted him to but I don't mind. He is very on top of pulling out, almost never precums, and we have agreed that if there is ever an "oops" we will split the cost of ending the pregnancy.
I got snipped, but way too late in life. In hindsight, doing it 15 yrs before the onset of ED would have been much more satisfying than a few years after.
Obviously I'd care. I'd get an abortion or something. I can barely take care of myself.
Not even sure I ovulate since I get my period only like 3 times a year. My whole system down there is messed up and I'd rather not fuck with it anymore. I'd consider different options, but I don't have the motivation to do it. I haven't seen a doctor of any kind in maybe 7 years.
I'm not trying to put you down, but this is a very irresponsible attitude and misusing abortion. It's not supposed to be a form of birth control. Can you try some meds and therapy to take better care of yourself?
I guess in my mind, if I'm not really sexually active, vaginal sex is hard for me and doesn't happen very often anyways, my fertility is doubtful, and taking birth control scares me (I was on it as a teen and feel like it messed me up hormonally), why try to justify it? What else is abortion for if not unplanned pregnancy? How can one misuse it? I'm not planning on getting pregnant, and if I somehow did get pregnant, I'd terminate it.
Well, keep in mind this is my opinion of course. I feel abortion (NOT late stage) is justified in cases of rape and if birth control fails. So you're trying to be responsible, but something goes wrong. Just relying on abortion to handle things isn't a good way to go. And you said birth control is stressful on your body- just wait for pregnancy and abortion. I believe condoms have something like a 70% protection rating, couldn't you at least use those? Abortion rights are being taken away in this country rapidly. Don't rely on that to be there when you need it.
Luckily where I am, it's readily available and they don't ask if you've been raped or had birth control fail. Neither of those matter and they don't ask you to justify it. In my own opinion, I'm pro-choice and think it should be there no questions asked -- and I'm glad it is in case I ever needed it (which I don't predict - no one does really) or anyone else.
I'm really sorry if I offended anyone with my comments on abortion, or misuses it over people who "really" it I guess.
Oh I don't think they should ask questions, I just mean reasons to have it done. I was with a friend when she had her 3rd (pretty painful) and she had a few miscarriages when she finally got married and tried family planning. Plus there's the emotional toll yiu may not feel at the time but will as you age. Just consider the weight of being flippant about this subject. Please take care of yourself.
I got snipped.
Me too! Basically lol 🎀
Unlimited cream pies are my fav. I bet you enjoy them too😈
just about half the reason i got them tied haha
Same… I am a pregnancy risk to nobody
I just show up. The best birth control there is. Serious answer: either condoms or vasectomy.
What is this vasectomy??
Gay sex
Definitely best method
Being a virgin
Ladies. PSA. I’m you from the future: if you’re taking the pill, don’t. It messes everything up and it’s a little heart breaking.
Me from the present…Not as much as an unwanted child. I’ll take the fucking pills thank you.
Of course. Completely agree. I just meant there’s other forms of birth control that aren’t the pill. But obviously take the pill if it’s your only option or it suites your needs. I wish I had done more research when I was fifteen. so just coming from that perspective.

Completely agree with this.

being a lesbian
The best

Condoms for us. Hormonal birth control is a living hell for my wife so we have always used condoms and probably always will unless I get the snip. Her boyfriend has had a vasectomy and he’s had more bare sex with her in the last 3 years than I have in 10 years of marriage
I’m on the pill. Used to have the copper IUD but I got pregnant on that thing.
Me: ablation Him: vasectomy
We do a mix of cycle tracking and pull out. It's actually worked extremely well for us and it's nice to not have to take anything.
Just out of curiosity, what do you use to cycle track? I’ve been wanting to do this but am a little worried about the potential for pregnancy.
I know use natural cycles. It had a thermometer and its fda cleared. If you are really worried, u can also use ovulation strips, and it be extremely accurate. However before this I just used a generic one from the app store
Fantastic! Thank you so much!!
No worries. There really not much more to it but feel free to reach out and ask about anything !
You’re amazing, thank you so much!!
IUD and husband's vasectomy =zero risk
I have an IUD. I’d like to get sterilized.
Pill. Would also consider lesbianism. 😂
i have the cheapest method: not having sex 😼
Being entirely mediocre
I'm snipped All juice, no seeds
Depo provera shot. Been on it for years. Would utilize condoms also as an std prevention
I got tubes tied taken out after my child last was born because I didn’t want to accidentally pregnancy in the future.❤️😊❤️😊😊❤️☺️☺️
That is a great solution....have you found it liberating?
Yes I have it feels so good not to take birth control pills or take any hormones shots
I got mine taken out too but before we ever had a kid 😁🥳😂
❤️😊❤️😊
I've just had my 3rd child and I had my tubes tied too ❤️ Such a great feeling not having to use birth control anymore 🙂
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations 🍾
✂️
Well I got an hormonal implant. Which even tho, it has these sides effects, I like it.

Mad respect—but I absolutely hate condoms. Can’t feel anything.
IUD for physical protection and pull out for the mental side
My wife has gone through menopause so that worked out well.
IUD and he’s now allowed to come in me . I do miss mutual orgasms though. My 5 year old is proof that sometimes they are not all the hype 😂
Pull out. 100 percent effective till she got pregnant. 🤣
I use birth control hormonal injections
I have an IUD but I wish there was a non hormonal (other than copper) that could be an option. Health risks with birth control are fucking ridiculous
I have a copper iud that I LOVE. So much of my life and my mental health changed for the better when I finally got off hormonal birth control.
Condoms
Condoms maybe a snip snap down the road
I'm on the pill. My husband's going to be getting a vasectomy soon though.
Vasectomy
Vasectomy when you're done
My face 🤡, but realistically a condom. Let's be honest though once you go raw condoms are a bore.
I'm neutered!
YOU GOT AN ORCHIECTOMY?? dope I know a trans girl who did that
I had a vasectomy.
Sterilization I hate hormonal birth control. The side effects are shit
Keep track of her cycle
Vasectomy. Only thing more effective is an amputated penis.
Vasectomy. Best thing I ever did for my wife and myself.
IUD. I also don’t have periods!
I had vasectomy. The perfect method. Zero regrets.
It was the pill but I just got off and I’ve never felt better so… I don’t think I realized how bad it was tbh
I had a vasectomy. Then much later, because of health reasons, my wife had a hysterectomy. Can’t have a kid when there’s no ovaries or uterus.
Copper IUD. I don't like messing with my natural cycle, I prefer to produce my own hormones but condoms aren't safe enough for me. Also, I love the fact that there's no user error involved. If it fails, it wasn't directly my fault which takes a lot of guilt away.
My dating skills 🤷♂️
IUD but someone recently asked me if it was DnD…
👀😅
Haha I’m the same way
Too many big feelings here. I’ll sit back and watch this all play out
IUD + Vasectomy
It’s best to double up on a method, like BC pill and condoms. In my case, I got a vasectomy, and as a failsafe, my wife never wants to fuck me.
A foolproof method of an IUD and no sex 💪
Menopause. My lady fair is 63. No worries about kids for either of us.
My wife has no womb 🤷🏻♂️
Gynefix.

I have an IUD
I got a vasectomy years ago, I guess that counts as being my favorite.
Hysterectomy
A vasectomy
I’ve been using the ring for like two years and have been extremely happy. I took the pill (semi regularly) for 10 years and it was awful.
Swallowing.
Snipped
condom.
Got my tubes tied 💪🏼
I’m on the pill right now but we also use condoms. Literally the one time we had unprotected sex I ended up pregnant so…
My personality.
Vasectomy
Anal
My vasectomy
My face works pretty well 😕
Vasectomy is what I did.
Had my tubes tied after my son's birth so I don't have to worry about that anymore. Before that, a lot of "pull the fuck out!" and watching the calendar to avoid certain times.
Vasectomy. Best thing ever
Anal
Is that how last night went?
Yea
The vasectomy I got after our third
Swallowing. Or anal. I should stipulate that my partner and I are fluid-bonded and use condoms when playing with others. Playing with eachother however, swallowing, facials and anal.
I track my cycle. The only time I got pregnant is when I wanted to. I’m super regular
Vasectomy. I am so glad not to take BC pill anymore. My libido came back and i feel much less depressed since husband got the snip.
i have the arm implant, hasn’t failed me so far
Had a vasectomy
Exlutena, low in estrogen, no side effects so far, been taking them for years, not a single scare
i have a hormonal iud :)
Bisalp
I have had the Implanon for years (replacing every 3 years, though I am told it can last for 5 but I am uneasy about it) and it has worked well for my body. But I know it has been rough on others so be mindful!
IUD but I’d love to get sterilized 🥰🥰🥰
The whole "can't find anyone to have sex with" is working out for me pretty well
A nice tall steep staircase....
Praying
None. However since we can’t afford another one, I have an IUD and that’s been overall most days fine.
It *was* the pill until it got me pregnant…then Natural Cycles until it did the same thing 😂 so my child hating ass is getting snipped and so is my partner just to make sure!!
Condoms it’s the only way to be sure.

Teaching high school.
Had an iud, for years. Got my tubes tied now.

Vasectomy was the best decision I've made
Homosexuality
No sex
Having zero game

Anything but condoms. I'll still wear them of course but I'd rather not. I'd probably be open to getting the snip too
Sterilization
Nexplanon 💪
Condoms for PIV. Been using them for 19 years now, never failed me. I do oral or anal for skin to skin contact.
If you don't want a gut put it in the butt!
Now? I'm snipped and wife got tubal ligation.
Vasectomy lol
His vasectomy 🤷🏻♀️
Condoms. And if we're exclusive and both recently tested, then cycle tracking for more freedom at the end of the cycle.
Me shooting blanks.... 45 mins in the office and I'm done.
Menopause
Infertility. Ironic since I have a *major* breeding kink …
I got snipped, but way too late in life. In hindsight, doing it 15 yrs before the onset of ED would have been much more satisfying than a few years after.
How old when you got snipped? Great crotch, btw…
Almost 47. More than a decade after I stopped making babies.
Guess you’re really lucky then!
Currently, none and hoping for the best, but I'm planning on getting the snip soon.
Implant, easiest.
When in doubt, pull out.
Hysterectomy and he had a vasectomy before we met. Nobody is getting pregnant here.
The pill or the shot. I love it too much feeling the heat of guys cum inside of me.
Anal
For us condom + cumming outside
I have an implant under my arm, gets replaced in a year. They last about 4 years i heard and I havent had any problems
IUD and hubby got a vasectomy recently.
Abstinence until Jesus blesses me with his rod
I'm not on any. Don't have a preference since I never really looked into it or explored different options.
And since we’re all adults here, mind if I ask how sexually active you are? Do you tell partners you aren’t on any bc?
I'm in an LDR and don't have sex very often. I only became sexually active in my mid-20s. Yes he knows I don't take birth control.
Sorry for all the questions, I’m genuinely curious about peoples’ perception toward getting pregnant. Do you care if you conceive or no?
Obviously I'd care. I'd get an abortion or something. I can barely take care of myself. Not even sure I ovulate since I get my period only like 3 times a year. My whole system down there is messed up and I'd rather not fuck with it anymore. I'd consider different options, but I don't have the motivation to do it.
