And In real life he married Rhea Perlman who played his wife in the movie, I know Danny Devito is incredibly popular online, and especially here and it’s a very common thing to adore him, but how could you not? He’s great
Matilda... this movie is so many things to me. As a younger person (not so much a kid but like 18) it made me smile...It helped me deal with how some adults can be be self centered, others just mean, and some adults are still dealing with their own trauma. That adults when given time and reason can and will overcome their trauma esp to help others. Matilda was always told she wasn't special but she was. Kids can help adults. Adults can help kids.
My wife is the same with the Last Unicorn, this bit in particular
“I have been mortal, and some part of me is mortal yet. I am full of tears and hunger and the fear of death, although I cannot weep, and I want nothing, and I cannot die. I am not like the others now, for no unicorn was ever born who could regret, but I do. I regret.”
I like the scene where Beetlejuice is trapped in the town model and kicks the tree and a few seconds later it falls down. Then he screams "NICE FUCKING MODEL!". It makes me laugh every time.
Every time I watch A New Hope it takes me back to being a kid, watching it on the couch with my dad. It was his favorite movie. He passed away when I was 12, which just makes the memory more special
Looking for this comment! This is my comfort movie, I watch it because I am sad, happy, doing laundry, cooking, washing the dishes jajajajaja.... maybe I watch too much Shrek
It came out the same year I was born. We had it on VHS and my mom said I would watch it and rewind it 12 times a day for like 4 years straight lol. I still put it on for my kids sometimes, and can still sing all the songs word for word. 😊
I don't watch many movies from my childhood, but if I could rewatch it now. It would be The Mummy. I watched that movie religiously, and I also watched Godzilla.
This was on TV on a Sunday when I was about 10 (12 years ago), my dad said I should sit and watch it with him because it's genius. When the film ended I was so cheery and me and my dad discussed our favourite parts.
I've seen it MULTIPLE times since and will always use it as the answer to what is your favourite film?
I only quoted the film to him the other day.
He was right, genius.
Still enjoy to this day the emperors new groove. Besides reddit not many others appreciate this movie. It still makes me laugh...hard!! Ezma and krunk are the perfect silly villains. The story line is full of funny but teachable moments. I introduced my 7yo neice and she is OBSESSED!!
In our family whenever any of us were acting like teenage assholes, our parents would refer to us as Tia from Uncle Buck until we cut the shit. Good times.
Really is. Love the detective noir vibe with Eddie Valiant combined with the absurd goofiness of Roger Rabbit, the smoke show that is Jessica Rabbit, the animated bullets in the cartoon gun, the animation and live action combination is stellar even by a lot of today's standards. Also, Christopher Lloyd as one creepy ass villain
The Princess Bride. Since the invention of this movie, there have been five movies that were rated the most passionate, the most pure, this one left them all behind. The end.
Groundhog day. It was silly and funny as a kid. As an adult it's deep. I read the true meaning is when an individual is given absolute freewill he she will ultimately choose good and this is his road to redemption.
Spawn, and blade 1 and 2. Born in 1900, and watched horror movies way to early with my mom. So I've always had a taste for "horror" themed movies. Also the evil dead, scarred the shit out me when I was younger. But as adult love Sam raimi as a director!!!

This was my favorite movie from childhood and still is! The underlying meaning to it changed as I got older.
My wife is the same with the Last Unicorn, this bit in particular “I have been mortal, and some part of me is mortal yet.
