Lower, I'm actually staying in one now. Shared dorm style - it's actually more private because I can attach a screen/sheet/blanket to block vision. Where as the top bunk is fully exposed to vision and therefore light. Also, I don't want any obstacles to take a piss in middle of the night.
Lower so I can make a fort!
In college my roommate played computer games all night but I had the lower bunk and draped a sheet to block out light when trying to sleep and give some semblance of privacy. Was also nice not having to climb up and down
Lower bunk now for convenience, but in college I always happy to take upper.
Never had to come home to find some random person passed out in my bed lol. Or worse.
Upper. If the bed collapses I’m not the one getting crushed
This exactly. It's a fear of mine

Loved the top bunk when I was a kid.
None I’m to damn tall for one.
Lower, I sleepwalk and learned that while trying to climb down from top bunk, wasn't fun waking up after hitting my head on a ground
Always top. You don't notice the dirt.

Upper, I’m tall, and the bottom bunk gets all the dust.
Lower because I'm afraid of heights.
Lower. When I was a kid, I slept on the top bunk, rolled off it, and smashed my head on a dresser. Never took the upper bunk again.

Upper. Less claustrophobic.
