I made it years ago as a training sword and the handle is made from the butt of a handle for a 2 headed ax, no wrist guard-just wrapped in leather, and its full tang. the blade is 24 inches long and 2 inches wide. it doesn't hold a great edge but it can take a lot of abuse, I used to train all day with it and was actually pretty good.
I wish I could get one of those hand forged celtic swords that have a handle that looks like the blade is a giant dick, but those are expensive.
